The first scenes are trigger warning worthy and gave me an unexpected excitement about this book. Unfortunately, after reading through several chapters I found that this was another generic suspense/crime thriller. The over explanation of the autopsy process, or how things work at the police station or a crime scene are unnecessary and make it feel like the reader is too stupid to understand basic concepts. This book really just irked me, I wanted to like it, I liked the disturbing and disgusting scenes but the way it was written just fell completely flat. Maybe I've come to expect too much but I feel like this was a basic bitch of a storyline with little imagination and a lot of unneeded filler.

Harvesting Evil does not shy away from the harsh realities of crime against society’s most vulnerable and it is unapologetically graphic at times. I appreciate this can be confronting but I hope people will stick with it and see the importance of trying to tell this story in a realistic way. The relationship between the characters adds a layer of co plexiglass as they struggle to solve the horrific crimes,

The child abuse which commences the story wrecked the novel for me. I know abuse exists but I choose not to read explicit detail; ditto with the sadistic assaults on the various victims. Not unlikely such early and widespread abuse could create a psychotic sexual murderer, but the depth of detail pushed this novel into extreme.

If I had not committed to review this as an ARC, I would have DNF'ed.

Reading the story, I found some shocking, oh my gosh moments. The writer is good with some exciting and intriguing writing. The story plot is current to modern time issues. The fright level is high. Intense crazy insane writing is great. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! I don't even know what to say about this one! This book was awesome! But it was very gruesome, very detailed, might trigger some people, but it was still a great great read! It had high suspense, intrigue, action, gruesome murders, sadistic serial killer, rape, blood shed, and torture! It had great police work and a great who done it! Some parts were rough getting through but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! It was very well written and the storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! Great book!
