Description
Opposites attract when an introverted vlogger and a reformed party boy exchange lessons on art, confidence, and yacht rock.
Artist Britt Branch has a successful online channel where she teaches a variety of art lessons. Obsessed with the 1970s, she has a style all her own. But she also has a huge problem--severe social anxiety. She lives with her mom, and while she pays her own bills, she wonders if she'll ever have the courage to move out and move on. When her best friend announces she's getting married, Britt decides it's time to make a change.
Gorgeous Hunter Pickett has always skated by on his model looks, applying very little effort to anything except sports, and even that was iffy at times. The third son of extremely wealthy and successful parents, he dealt with being the black sheep of the family by drinking and using drugs. By his third year of sobriety, he's still dealing with aimlessness. Late one night he catches Britt's channel and ends up watching her videos. He's not interested in art . . . at first. And when he sends her an online message, he's surprised she responds. Before long they are chatting every day, and once they start meeting in person, a spark-filled friendship begins.
But both of them are keeping secrets. Big ones. When all truths are revealed in one pivotal moment, Britt and Hunter are at a crossroads. Will he fight for the happiness he's worked so hard to obtain? And will she continue to hide from life, or can she finally step out of her own shadow?

SO INTO YOU by KATHLEEN FULLER is a most enjoyale novel which deals with family dynamics, friendship, more than one romance and the danger of keeping secrets, especially from loved ones.
Brittany Branch is a vlogger who shares her artistic talent online. She suffers from anxiety and a low self image and is afraid of people. She feels she will never be normal. Her parents divorced twenty years ago when she was eight, she livesvwith her mother and is only now getting to know her father…….
Hunter Pickett’s film star looks hide a recovering alcoholic who has been thrown out of his family home because of his bad behaviour……
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I highly recommend So Into You as a thought provoking romance novel, where the author cleverly uncovers her charaters’ emotions and also where we feel strongly that God is orchestrating things behind the scenes!
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
Loved this one! Great and fun read. Highly recommend.
Many thanks to the publisher, Netgalley, and the author for my ARC.
Based on other books I’ve read by this author; I knew this would be a book that would end with a “feel good” kind of feeling. Definitely true for this delightful, heartwarming story.
Twenty-eight-year-old Britt Branch lives at home with her divorced mother. Her parents have been divorced for twenty years with no contact from her father. Only in the past few months has she and her dad gotten together, unbeknownst to her mother. He has cleaned himself up, no longer drinks and has a respectable steady job as the chauffeur for a prominent local attorney.
Britt is an accomplished artist with a successful online presence, where she teaches numerous different types of art lessons, however, she also suffers from a very bad case of social anxiety. She has only one friend, and rarely goes out in public. That one friend is getting married and asks Britt to be her maid of honor. She accepts but panic sets in and she decides that she must try to get over the panic she feels when out among people.
Handsome Hunter Pickett has had his share of troubles, getting by on his good looks, putting very little effort into school, resulting in changing schools many times during his high school years. His family is very wealthy, and both of his brothers are married with successful careers, while his parents have pretty much disowned him. At age 30, Hunter has a GED and works nights in a warehouse, sharing an apartment with a friend.
Hunter stumbles upon Britt’s channel and watches her videos. He is intrigued by her art and sends her a message which she responds to. They strike up an online friendship and when they coincidently meet one day in an art supply store that is one of Britt’s sponsors, things seem to click. Britt, however, is totally honest about the panic that seizes her when she’s around people and out in public. Hunter is determined to help her overcome her anxiety, one baby step at a time.
This is a book that kept my attention to the very last page. There is humor, some complicated situations that arise, as well as reconciliation and second chances. A heartwarming story that will stay with me for a while.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.
A wonderful book that has inspired me to live life differently. The characters are so diverse that they would relate to many readers.
I really enjoyed this book! The writing was really good and the characters had a lot of depth. And the romance was very cute!
So Into You by Kathleen Fuller is a delightful rom-com. It started a little slow for me as the author was developing the characters. At first, I thought there were too many characters. However, as the novel progressed, the plot came together masterfully. I loved the insecure and flawed characters. Acceptance, forgiveness of others and self, and determination to take risks to move life in a positive direction are all elements of this beautifully crafted novel.
Releases Dec. 3rd. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
So Into You reads like a rom-com movie. It was like a mixture of Katherine Center and some of Karen Kingsbury’s earlier works. It starts off pretty slow but picks up after the first couple of chapters. This is also not an insta-romance, but it’s not necessarily a slow burn either. The two leads still have great chemistry, and the book deals with their budding romance and personal issues. Two being addictions and anxiety. I also loved how so many of the characters' lives were intertwined. It made me anticipate what was to come and laugh! Which I did a few times throughout my reading. So thank you, Kathleen Fuller for an enjoyable read. I'm really looking forward to reading more of your books!
This was a delightful romance. It did a great job describing someone with an anxiety disorder. It is also a good redemption story for recovering addicts. I liked how the story had several different storylines that tied together. It wasn't just a romance story for young adults; it had a love story for middle-aged adults too. I enjoyed how the story pulled me forward all the way through to the end. It was a good escape that I needed, and it entertained me while encouraging me.
This delightful story is all about being uncomfortably comfortable. I adored Britt’s artistic ability and expressions, even if she is a little quirky. To be fair, she deals with crippling anxiety and I love that she has found a way to live peaceably with her limitations. I love how Hunter was drawn to her voice and allowed himself to try something new. Both Britt and Hunter open themselves up to try something new and the journey with both of them is sweet and inspiring. There is a brilliance to how all the storylines intersect and when they fully cross and everything is exposed there is power in the truth. As one who is not artistic, I did enjoy all the descriptions throughout. Restoration is a key theme that resonates throughout, even if it is a painful journey to get there. The additional storyline of Daniel and Amy was a bonus and full of poignant truths as well. Trigger warnings: heavy discussions on alcoholism, sobriety, anxiety, and divorce.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.
Loved reading the inspirational and entertaining story. Hunter struggles daily with his drinking problem, and Britt's video's online have a calming affect on him. Even though Britt struggles with social anxiety, she agrees to give Hunter art lessons. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting romance story.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and lovable. The pacing was perfect and left you wanting to read more. I can't wait to read more by this author!
I read this book in 24 hours, it was so good! I very much related to the main character, Britt, and her mom as someone with anxiety and with a daughter I support with severe anxiety much like Britt. I ADORED Maude, she is hilarious! This book had me giggling, swooning, and encouraged all at once. It's a sweet, clean rom-com type read with hints of faith messages (like grace and forgiveness), but the writing in this one is next level as the scenes felt very real-life (perhaps since it is so similar to my life!). I look forward to reading more from Kathleen Fuller.
“You have to give yourself the freedom not to be perfect.”
This delightful rom-com by Kathleen Fuller is a great weekend read. I read this book back in August when I needed a brain break from school and this book did the job! On the surface it has a Hallmark movie vibe, but once you read more, you are intertwined with past family traumas, old friendships, and new relationships. Perhaps, Kathleen Fuller will provide us a sequel…
I read this book for free on my #kindle thanks to #NetGalley .
*My reviews will be published on @CaryReads on the publishing release date.
I absolutely adored this story, once I started I didn't stop. The characters were fabulous, no one perfect all flawed, all real. Social anxiety is close to my heart, the fidgetting, the nervous blurting of words, very real. I felt the story maintained a light hearted feel even though there was some serious themes running through the whole story.
Love love this author's books, but this one kind of fell flat. The subjects of the story were good and I did learn a few things like social anxiety and addiction
The author did well with these making them realistic which i appreciated. This helped me to understand people that have it better.
But I wish the story were straight through without the different pov. At times it felt like 4 different stories. Very confusing. I didn't care much for that.
I'm sorry that I was the right audience for this book.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
This book had such lovely character development and some of the best anxiety representation I've read, it made me feel seen and empathized with as a reader, and I would recommend this book to everyone!
I loved this book! Such a great story of second chances, the constant fight against addiction and finding oneself. Anxiety ridden introvert Britt shares her art to the world through her YouTube channel. Living with her mom Britt has a comfortable, predictable life. Then things start to change. At first Britt is reluctant to accept the changes. Then Hunter, who also has his share of problems, reaches out to her. Once they meet sparks begin to fly and Britt is living her best life. Until a web of secrets is revealed in one night. Will the love for each other be enough to wash away the past?
A fun read! And full of inspiration for second chances, redemption, forgiveness, and hope. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I completely loved every minute of this book!!
E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. !!!
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to review this ARC.
'So Into You' is an artistic women's fiction novel with multiple sweet romance stories weaved together. I love Kathleen Fuller's decision to write using 4 different POVs: Britt, her love interest, and her estranged parents. The relational redemption is this story blew me away! It was heart-warming and deeply emotional.
If you enjoy reading clean contemporary romance novels, then I recommend this book to you!
Special thanks to the Publisher, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Net Galley for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
What an interesting story involving 2 generations intertwined without even them knowing, all due to communication-or rather the lack of communication. I enjoyed the story although there were lots of heartbreaks in the character's challenges within their lives. One constant was Maude and X, aging hippies that I would want in my life for their calm and wisdom as well as Maude's spunk! Great characters, intertwined plot within families, and (mis)conceptions by many. Thought provoking and a captivating read. It was hard to put the book down! This was a new author for me, and I will seek out her books for future reading.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the opportunity to read this book and express my personal impressions.
So Into You by Kathleen Fuller is labeled as a Rom-Com but I don't think this is the right label for this book. This book deals with some heavy issues like alcholism and anxiety. An alternate name for this book could be Keeping Secrets since many of the characters in this book had secrets they did not reveal to those who were close to them. The female lead character Brit has a successful youtube channel where she instructs art techniques. Despite her successs Brit has anxiety issues. She has trouble getting out in the public. Hunter PIckett happened upon her channel by accident and was intriqued so he connects with her. Later on they meet up and form a friendship. Hunter has his own issues. He is a recovering alcoholic who is estranged from his wealthy family. Brit and Hunter have a growing relationship. Brit has a low opinion of herself and finds it hard to believe a good looking guy like Hunter could be interested in her. Both are guilty of keeping secrets. Hunter does not reveal to her that he is estranged from his family because he is a recovering alcoholic. Brit has her own secrets. Her mother does not know that she has re-connected with her father who also is a recovering alcoholic. I mostly liked all the characters in this book. Even Hunter's parents won me over. They just wanted the best for their son. Brit's mother Amy was a bit overbearing. She was over-protective of Brit, treated her like a child and did not respect her daughter's decisions.
I enjoyed this books and looking forward to more contemporary stories from this author who usually writes Amish fiction.
All opionions are my own. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and did not receive compensation.
I enjoyed this story very much. I have read a few others by this author and she is quickly becoming a favorite of mine to read. I struggled with social anxiety some myself so the story was very relatable and held my attention. I loved how all the characters connected when they all met at the party. So glad I read this book and will recommend it to my friends.
A Delightful Rom-Com with Hidden Depth
Kathleen Fuller's "So Into You" is a delightful rom-com that's perfect for a weekend escape. It initially gives off a Hallmark movie vibe, but it quickly dives deeper into themes of family trauma, old friendships, and budding relationships.
The story follows Brittany Branch, a talented vlogger who struggles with anxiety and a low self-image. Her parents' divorce twenty years ago has left lasting scars, and she's only now starting to reconnect with her father. Hunter Pickett, a handsome recovering alcoholic, has been cast out by his family due to his past behavior.
Fuller skillfully weaves together their stories, exploring the complexities of family dynamics and the healing power of love and forgiveness. While the romance is heartwarming, the novel also tackles deeper issues with sensitivity and insight. The characters' emotions feel real and relatable, and there's a subtle sense of divine intervention at play.
I highly recommend "So Into You" for those seeking a thought-provoking romance novel that goes beyond the surface. It's a captivating story that will leave you hoping for a sequel.
I read this book for free on my #kindle thanks to #NetGalley
This was a really cute, clean romance about a YouTube artist dealing with anxiety struggles and a man with a past he'd like to move beyond. I enjoyed how the characters were all intertwined and how their stories ended up connecting.
*I received a free digital copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review
This book is a deeper romance novel. It is full of forgiveness, second chances, and hope that people can change for the better. It features a reformed bad boy struggling to find himself after becoming sober and a woman who is a brilliant artist that struggles with debilitating social anxiety.
I really enjoyed this story and these characters because it felt like real people struggling with real problems.
I definitely recommend you give this a read especially if you love art!
How could anyone not love this book! Just adorable. Loved every minute reading it. Perfect romance. Will look for more by Kathleen Fuller!
Book Review: So Into You by Kathleen Fuller
So Into You by Kathleen Fuller is a charming and heartfelt romance novel that brings together two deeply flawed yet lovable characters—Britt Branch, an introverted artist with severe social anxiety, and Hunter Pickett, a reformed party boy struggling to find direction in his life. The story centers around their journey toward personal growth, understanding, and the kind of love that can only blossom when people allow themselves to be vulnerable.
Character Development and Themes
The beauty of So Into You lies in its focus on character development, particularly for its two leads, Britt and Hunter. Britt is a talented and passionate artist who runs a successful online channel teaching art lessons. However, despite her professional achievements, her social anxiety severely hampers her personal life. Fuller does an excellent job portraying Britt’s internal struggles—she feels safe behind her computer screen but has a difficult time navigating face-to-face relationships. This makes her relatable to many who have experienced anxiety or social insecurities. Britt’s love for the 1970s era, which she expresses through her art and personal style, adds an eccentric and endearing layer to her personality, making her stand out as a unique, creative heroine.
Hunter Pickett, on the other hand, is a "reformed bad boy," and this trope is executed with nuance. He comes from a wealthy family and was once known for his good looks and reckless partying. However, he has spent years recovering from addiction and trying to find meaning in his life, now three years sober. His feelings of inadequacy and the pressure of being the black sheep in a successful family are well conveyed. Hunter’s struggle with his past mistakes, combined with his aimlessness, creates a genuine character arc that extends beyond the typical "charming bad boy" persona seen in many romance novels. His redemption story feels earned, rather than forced, and Fuller allows his vulnerabilities to shine through.
The chemistry between Britt and Hunter is sweet and organic. The connection starts with an online message after Hunter stumbles upon Britt’s art videos. Despite initially having no interest in art, Hunter is captivated by Britt’s passion and talent, which draws him into her world. Their digital interactions gradually build into something more, leading to a friendship full of flirty banter and deep, heartfelt conversations. What’s especially enjoyable about their dynamic is how they teach each other. Britt, with her insecurities, learns from Hunter’s confidence and perseverance, while Hunter discovers the joy and therapeutic power of art through Britt. The novel delicately balances both characters’ personal growth with their growing relationship, making it more than just a romance—it’s a story of healing and learning to embrace oneself.
Themes of Art, Anxiety, and Redemption
One of the standout aspects of So Into You is how it incorporates art as a medium of self-expression and healing. For Britt, art is not just a career—it’s her safe space and the way she communicates with the world. Fuller does a wonderful job of using art as a metaphor for Britt’s personal struggles, particularly her journey toward overcoming her social anxiety and stepping out of the shadows of her own fears. The novel explores how art can be a form of therapy, not just for Britt but also for Hunter, who learns to appreciate creativity as a way of coping with his own emotional baggage.
The portrayal of anxiety is sensitive and realistic, and Britt’s battle with it is not minimized or quickly resolved. Her fears of stepping outside her comfort zone are palpable throughout the story, and it’s refreshing to see a romance heroine whose challenges go beyond simple relationship hurdles. Fuller gives her time to grow, and while the romance helps, it’s ultimately Britt’s own decision to take control of her life that leads to her transformation.
On the other hand, Hunter’s storyline tackles issues of addiction, self-worth, and redemption. As someone who has struggled with drugs and alcohol, he is a character who understands the importance of second chances, and it’s inspiring to see how hard he works to change his life. His journey is not smooth—there are moments of doubt and struggle—but Fuller’s depiction of his recovery feels honest and respectful. Hunter’s aimlessness post-recovery is a relatable aspect of his character, showing that sobriety is not a cure-all, but the beginning of a new, sometimes difficult, path. His relationship with Britt gives him a renewed sense of purpose, but like Britt, his transformation is personal and not wholly dependent on his romantic partner.
Romance and Conflict
While So Into You is undoubtedly a romance novel, the love story unfolds in a slow and steady manner, which fits both characters’ personalities and circumstances. There is no instant, whirlwind romance here; instead, Fuller builds a believable and tender connection between Britt and Hunter, allowing their friendship to serve as the foundation for something deeper. The romantic tension is there, but it’s rooted in emotional intimacy and mutual respect, which makes the eventual blossoming of their relationship all the more satisfying.
That being said, the novel also has its fair share of conflict, particularly as both characters are keeping significant secrets. When these secrets come to light in a pivotal moment, Britt and Hunter are forced to confront not only each other’s pasts but also their own insecurities and fears. Fuller handles this moment with care, giving both characters the space to react authentically. The resolution is neither rushed nor overly dramatic, maintaining the novel’s focus on emotional growth rather than contrived conflict for the sake of tension.
Conclusion
So Into You is a delightful read for fans of sweet, character-driven romances. Kathleen Fuller has crafted a thoughtful story that tackles issues like social anxiety, addiction, and self-worth, while still delivering the warmth and feel-good moments that romance readers crave. Britt and Hunter’s love story is grounded in mutual respect and personal growth, making their journey toward happiness both heartwarming and inspiring.
For readers looking for a romance that goes beyond surface-level attraction and explores the deeper emotional layers of its characters, So Into You is a perfect choice. Whether you're drawn to stories about artistic expression, personal redemption, or simply enjoy a well-crafted opposites-attract romance, this book has something to offer.
So Into You is Kathleen Fuller's latest contemporary romance novel. In the story, socially awkward Britt has a severe anxiety issue. She combats this by creating YouTube videos that teach others how to do different art. reformed party boy Hunter stumbles across her videos and feels a connection. When they have a chance meeting, they soon discover that they can help each other, but they have to be honest with each other first. As always, an excellent book. you won't want to miss it.
Britt & Hunter
When I saw this one pop up on NetGalley, I knew I had to read it!
I loved the multi-romance story line, the redemption, and just the way that both Britt and Hunter grew. The little connections between Hunter and Britt’s families made for some great suspense. All four main characters had to learn about the consequences of keeping secrets and not owning up to their mistakes.
I really enjoyed the gentle element of faith in Hunter’s storyline. I think it was really neat, and special, that his dad was able to form a connection with Britt’s dad, and offer him a second chance, and I think that Hunter’s past really helped with the offer of redemption for her dad.
The theme of anxiety and worry was very well done. If you’re looking for a book that addresses social anxiety, Kathleen does a wonderful job in this one!
Big thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the chance to read and review early!
This was a thoroughly enjoyable and very unique romance. Brittany has severe social anxiety and still lives with her mother, and Hunter is a recovering alcoholic who has been completely cut off from his family. That's how things start out before author Kathleen Fuller weaves this rocky start into a clean romance that deals with tough issues in an understanding but not overly heavy way. The main characters, as well as the supporting ones, are well-developed and likeable. I especially loved how Hunter was so understanding and was willing to make the extra effort required to have a relationship with Brittany. Maude and X are great quirky characters that own an art store where Brittany and Hunter get to know one another. The story flows at a good pace, and the dialogue seems natural for the characters and the situations. There's a great HEA. Kathleen Fuller is a new-to-me author, and I would definitely read more books by her and would highly recommend So Into You.
I received a complimentary copy through NetGalley from the publisher and am sharing my opinion of this very well-written and interesting romance.
I am not totally sure what I expected of this book, but I can emphatically proclaim that whatever it may have been this book blew it out of the water. I absolutely loved this book and I was so invested in both of these perfectly imperfect characters with real life flaws. The book is so relatable on so many levels. The author did an amazing job with bringing Britt and Hunter to life, as well as the characters surrounding them and who are impacted by their stories. A refreshing read!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this book! Britt and Hunter’s opposites-attract story is so heartfelt and real. Their journey of helping each other grow is sweet, funny, and emotional. It is also deeply moving as they navigate significant issues such as anxiety, recovery from addiction, and self-improvement
Thank You Netgalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction
Loved this book! I felt all the emotions reading it. It was adorable. I loved the characters and the serious topics discussed. It was a great story , and I was hooked.
5 stars !
Dear Kathleen Fuller, I think I am So Into You....(see what I did there?!) or more accurately, I am sooooo into this book!
So Into You features a wallflower artist and reformed bad boy who form an unlikely friendship over art that eventually turns into more. And oh boy, it's as fantastic as it sounds!
From the first chapter I was internally squealing, Hunter and Brit had dynamic chemistry that kept me turning the pages. And that first kiss scene......whew that was cute and swoony!! I read the entire book in two sittings, I just couldn't get enough!
I loved how tender and sweet Britt was, even when she was struggling, she had an undeniable gentleness that she brought to the story. Hunter was equally gentle with Britt, I loved how patient he was with her and yet so confident in his pursuit of her! I love a male lead who isn't afraid to share how he's feeling and pursue the female lead. Hunter's story of redemption was so real but at the same time never made the story feel too heavy or preachy.
We get a second romance (I don't want to give anything away) in the book where we see more messages of redemption, forgiveness, and second chances.
I teared up more than once throughout the book, especially the we got to read the letter from Hunter to Britt (you'll have to read it to find out!).
Excellent read, an easy five stars! If you love sweet and clean romance as much as I do then So Into You needs to be at the top of your TBR!
Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Publishers, and Kathleen Fuller for the advanced copy, all opinions are my own.
So Into You by Kathleen Fuller was an absolutely delightful book.
This book has likable and relatable characters that will find their way into the reader’s heart.
This book has everything a sweet romance should: great characters; a wonderful setting; and a storyline that held my interest.
This book is everything I want in every book! It was sweet and the main character was so relatable! I loved the MMC and how he made the FMC feel safe! This story was captivating from the beginning to end! There is no spice which I loved so much! So into you was adorable and I will reread!
Inspiring
Although the story's synopsis grabbed my attention, I truly did not know what to expect from it. But I can honestly say I was completely drawn in and blown away all in one shot.
I greatly enjoyed the development of Brittany and Hunter's relationship and eventual romance. I also enjoyed how the author beautifully combined Brittany's social struggles and Hunter's past issues into their relationship. All of what they were each "uncomfortably comfortable" with was so true to life and added so much depth to Brittany and Hunter's story. I also enjoyed the secondary characters' stories, which intertwined with the main characters without overshadowing them.
This is an inspiring story of family, overcoming, self-reflection, secrets that come to light, trust, and romance. Yes, it touches on some deep issues that don't normally get talked about in many books, but they are handled beautifully and play an integral part in the story. And although I initially did not know what to expect, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it did not disappoint.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely voluntary and my own.
A beautifully written romance tackling some complex issues with great insight and sensitivity. The characters are relatable, the storyline is engaging and it was hard to put down! More than your average romance novel and one I’d highly recommend. It’s safe to say I loved it and will be looking out for more by this author.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is a beautifully written story that makes you feel right alongside the characters. Britt is an artist with a YouTube channel but she has severe social anxiety. Hunter is a good looking guy but he overcome many hurdles in his life. He catches one of Britt’s videos and decides to take a chance and reaches out to her. Can two totally different people find something in common?
If you like sweet, Christian romances, this story is for you. Many thanks to the author, Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Slow burn romance
I laughed. I cried. And I loved every minute of reading this book. It features Britt, a talented artist whose crippling social anxiety has held her back since she can remember, and Hunter, an extremely handsome young man who never felt like he could measure up to his wealthy family’s standard of perfection. Hunter coasted through his teen years on charm and alcohol until he eventually wound up serving time for his misdeeds and lost his family relationships. This unlikely pair met online and their love story was so sweet and so emotional. I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.
I went into this story a little blind, but I was pleasantly surprised. Although it deals with some heavy topics, the author does a great job of writing the situations in an upbeat positive way.
This is a great world building story about a young woman, Britt, who deals with extreme social anxiety. She is doing the best she can to cope with her anxiety. She was a talented social media influencer with her art. Her relationship with her father was a positive influence in her life, unfortunately I thought her mother was hampering her progress. So it was a pleasant surprise when Hunter came into the picture. I loved their connection, their positive outlook, and the ability to progress together. When the drama and climax happens, i was on the edge of my seat. Obviously people are emotionally hurt, but I thought the gentle persistence and working together to forgive and rebuild was enlightening. The romance is slow build and sweet. Hunter’s progress and personal growth is so inspirational. Starting at a young age with drugs and alcohol, Hunter unfortunately hits rock bottom, which is what usually has to happen. He has rebounded wonderfully and is a strength for those around him. The family dynamics on both Britt and Hunter’s side is so important to the story. I also have to mention Maude she was perfection. Overall, I thought this was a wonderful story, very meaningful and charming. There were a few times where I felt confused who the side characters were, but that could just be my brain. I really appreciate an author that chooses to write clean romance and no foul language stories. There was the slightest hint of religion mention, but I would not say it is religious. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you Netgalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction | Thomas Nelson for the early advance copy of this book. I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I loved all the characters and the growth of the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.
Kathleen Fuller knows how to write a contemporary romance that sweeps me off my feet. Her latest, So Into You, was an absolute delight from start to finish. Complete with an artsy, shy heroine and recovering addict hero, Fuller created a story with twists, secrets, and complications that drew me into the pages. This sweet romance was a quick read that left a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. I enjoyed every moment.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. I was not required to provide a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
While I know Kathleen Fuller more from her books that feature the Amish, I've also been impressed with her contemporary romance stories. Her characters are always unique, with issues that love is finally able to cover. So Into You brings together Britt Branch and Hunter Pickett in a way that only God could orchestrate.
Britt has a successful YouTube channel, where she teaches all kinds of art from drawing to sculpture to painting. She is confident behind her camera, but she has one BIG problem. Her severe social anxiety has made going out in public nearly impossible. She still attends church with her mother and goes to K & B Art Supply (on Mondays when no one else is there) but just thinking about going anywhere that people congregate is enough to send her hear rate into orbit and cause her sweat glands to over-produce. When her best friend asks her to be her maid of honor, instead of jumping at the chance, she asks to think about it. Can she set aside her anxiety to be there for her friend? She knows she wants to change, but even her years of therapy haven't helped.
Hunter Pickett grew up with every advantage. Gorgeous? Check. Athletic? Check. Wealthy family? Check. The third son in a family of over-achievers, Hunter made his mark by getting in trouble. His life was one big party, complete with drinking, drugs, and any woman he wants, until he lands in jail. a wake up call that turns his life completely around. Now, he's 3 years sober in a dead-end job still trying to find his place in the world. His parents went "no contact" with him, back when he was carousing, so he doesn't feel their support. Landing on Britt's channel is a fluke, but her voice soothes his spirit somehow and she intrigues him. Not only that, he finds that he can finally sleep, something that's been difficult without his former crutches of drugs and alcohol.
As Hunter starts chatting with Britt, he discovers a thoughtful, witty woman that he'd like to know better. When she confides her social anxiety, he thinks he can help her. He talks her into giving him art lessons in exchange for helping with her anxiety. They both still have secrets, but secrets have a way of coming out. When their secrets detonate, more than just their relationship is at risk. Will Britt retreat to her safe space, never to be seen again, or will she finally choose to live?
I loved so much about this story! Britt is all but agoraphobic. She does leave the house, but only goes to places she won't see other people. Yes, she was bullied as a child, but her parents' marriage tipped her over the edge. Now that her dad is sober, he is trying to make amends - which has helped - but it also makes her lie to her mother about who she spends time with. When Hunter steps into her life, she can't believe that a gorgeous man like him could ever be interested in someone like her. Hunter sees all the good things, not the neurotic mess she sees in the mirror. Hunter was a great leading man, in my opinion.
Readers who enjoy contemporary romance with a smattering of faith throughout, will love So Into You. The characters have their quirks and foibles, but they are working through them with grace. I loved the story!
The story of Britt and Hunter. An opposites attract romance. I liked both characters and wanted everything to work out for them. I liked how it was told from the different points of view.
Britt Branch, a popular YouTube art instructor, has severe social anxiety that keeps her housebound other than outings with her mom, Amy, or her best friend and only friend, Savannah. When Savannah announces her engagement and asks Britt to be her maid of honor, it is a huge request. Britt wants to do this, but it is a huge step outside her comfort zone. When she announces that she wants to stretch herself during one of her videos, Hunter Pickett reaches out to her. As Britt and Hunter’s conversations online pick up, they eventually run into each other through a chance meeting at Britt’s favorite art store. Hunter is confident, sexy, and not afraid to take a chance. But Hunter has his demons... he’s a recovering addict and is estranged from his wealthy family.
I was hooked on this book the second I opened it. I immediately got excited about every little thing that happened. We’re talking 11% in. That’s so rare! I felt so much joy over Britt’s transformation throughout the book. And Hunter is realistic and down-to-earth, which makes him a wonderful book boyfriend. There is also a secondary romance involving Britt’s mom, Amy. I felt very connected to Amy as a mother. Worrying about a child does not stop simply because they are adults, especially when the child has an emotional disorder.
This is one of the best, if not the best, reads of 2024. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys closed-door romances with bad boys, women who’ve sworn off relationships, and who always cheer for opposites to attract.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Thomas Nelson Fiction through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
