Description
Kira North hates Christmas. Which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s too cute for its own good.
Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor taking a break from his life in California. And most importantly, taking a break from his latest run of disastrous dates.
After a run in with Kira in her fields, Ben has no intention of offering to help the grumpy owner set up her tree farm, despite the fact she’s clearly got no idea what she’s doing.
Kira knows she should stop being so stubborn, but her farm is not all cute and cozy like people always show on social media, it’s borderline dangerous with no heating, and she’d rather no one saw it.
But somehow fate finds Ben at Kira’s farm once more, and as Kira watches him swing an ax at the first tree, she finds herself appreciating his strength and questionning why she refused help in the first place..
The Christmas Tree Farm is a spicy romantic mystery with a HEA guaranteed!

I was a fan of Laurie Gilmore‘s last book and I greatly enjoyed her. If you’re in the mood for a Christmas romance with a grumpy protagonist, pick up The Christmas Tree Farm. You won’t regret it.
Oh, where do I even begin with The Christmas Tree Farm? I was swept away by the characters’ chemistry and the enchanting holiday vibes. The HEA is heart-melting and so satisfying. I adored every moment of this spicy, romantic whirlwind, truly a must-read for anyone craving a perfect holiday escape.
I absolutely adored ‘The Christmas Tree Farm’. It had me hooked from the start with its irresistible blend of grumpy x sunshine, cozy small-town vibes, and delicious forced proximity. The one bed trope added the perfect touch of tension and intimacy. The characters' chemistry was off the charts, their happily ever after left me with the biggest smile on my face.

This is the third book in the Dream Harbor series, but you don't have to read them in order. The characters are connected, but each book is a standalone story. If you loved The Pumpkin Spice Cafe story, then you will love this, too. This one is a cute and heartwarming Christmas book. I mean, who doesn't love a story set on a Christmas tree farm with adorable dogs? Plus, there's some fun banter, funny moments, spice, and even a little mystery. I want to move to Dream Harbor. This is Hallmark mixed with Gilmore Girls vibe with spice added in.
The main character is Kira, a woman who's trying to find her own way after her sister moves away. She's always relied on her sister, so now she has to learn to stand on her own two feet. And what does she do? She buys a Christmas tree farm without even seeing it first! That's her first mistake, but not her last.
Bennett is in town for the holidays, visiting his sister Jeanie, who owns the local coffee shop. He brings his three dogs with him, and while he's letting them run in the woods. He ends up trespassing on the Christmas tree farm land, while there he stumbles upon Kira. She's not too happy to see him at first, but she loves the dogs. And guess what? hat's not the last time he'll see her, though. Even visiting, he gets put into a situation by the major of Dream Harbor and his sister.
Booktok Holiday Girlies will looove this 🎄

Yes, yes, yes! Such a cozy and thrilling read. I love when a romance novel can still hook you. Not even due to drama, etc. but just out of the storylines and development of the characters relationship.
I feel like this is a ‘cozy romance’ in the sense that stakes are ‘low’ and it’s not a whirlwind romance BUT that makes it the perfect holiday read to me. This one is a great one to read bundled up in bed or your preferred cozy spot ☕️
Look forward to reading once again once it’s released. This makes me even more excited for the cinammon bun shop book!
A cozy Hallmark Christmas movie, but add steam! The Christmas Tree Farm was a great escape from the bazillion degree summer days. It covers all the bases: cozy small town, dogs, Christmas cheer, living room blanket forts, and steamy open-door loving. I like that our MCs were fully aware of their flaws and were trying to grow. I love the friend group. I want to live in Dream Harbor! My biggest complaint about the book would be all… the… ellipsis… Seriously, at one point I was playing a game to see how many pages in a row had ellipsis, but that was distracting me from the story and I stopped. Otherwise, I enjoyed this low-angst, steamy, cozy, fluffy Christmas book.
I received an ARC of The Christmas Tree Farm from NetGalley. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
I am a fan of Laurie Gilmore, so I was excited to read this book. It did not disappoint. It was a great cozy Christmas read. I especially love the small-town setting. I really liked Kira and her story line, and I thought that she and Ben had great chemistry. Between the story and the setting, it really put me in the Christmas spirit. This will definitely be recommended to all my friends. I am so excited for more of Laurie Gilmore’s books in the future.
If you love a Hallmark movie kind of book but always wished they had a little spice mixed in this is the book for you! This is a reverse grumpy-sunshine, which gave you just enough back story to absolutely fall in love with the characters, This was the perfect mix of cozy, small town, Christmas cheer, dogs, and spice. One of the things I loved about this book was that both of the main characters know what their flaws are and are trying to learn/grow from past experiences. It makes this book see so authentic that you could possibly meet these people in real life.
Overall I'm giving this book a 4.75/5 stars. The only thing I like more than a reverse grumpy-sunshine is a regular grumpy sunshine. I would 100% reread this and recommend it to other people.
✨📚 If you're a fan of Hallmark movie vibes but crave a little extra spice, then I've found your new favorite read! This cozy, small-town Christmas romance gives us the perfect reverse grumpy-sunshine duo who feel so real, you might just bump into them on your next holiday stroll! 🐶❤️ I adored how both characters own their flaws and genuinely strive to grow—it's like a masterclass in authenticity! 🎄💫 I'm rating it a solid 4.75/5 stars because honestly, who doesn't love a good grumpy-sunshine story? Can’t wait to dive back in and relive the magic! 📖✨ #BookRecommendation #CozyReads #HallmarkFeels
Laurie Gilmore does it again! I'm obsessed with her books.. The small town, the Christmas vibes, the most perfect characters that I absolutely adore. It's like a spicy version of Gilmore Girls and I couldn't love it more. I'm so sad this book is over. 5 huge stars!!
Spicy Hallmark feels! Put me in the mood for Christmas and hot chocolate. This was a cute, quick fun read. I’ve read all three in this series so far and they have yet to disappoint. This author delivers the right amount of humor and “spiciness” and there is always a HEA.
I adore Laurie's books. Not only do they pull you in by cover alone, the stories are entertaining as well. Each character has their traits. Thank you for the opportunity to read this one!
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collin’s 369, and Laurie Gilmore for this ARC!
Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is a delightful, spicy holiday romance that feels like a modern Hallmark movie with an edge. The story follows Kira North, who takes on the challenge of running a Christmas tree farm, only to realize she's in over her head. Enter Bennett (Ben), a Mr. Fix-It type with three loyal dogs, whose initial encounter with Kira is far from smooth. As they navigate a series of events, including a cozy snowstorm, their chemistry sizzles, making for a heartwarming and festive read that's perfect for the holiday season. The dogs, along with the snowy setting, made this a particularly cozy and heartwarming experience that I couldn't put down.
Oh my lanta! This was the coziest holiday romance with all the Christmas goodness and Gilmore Girl vibes. Think Hallmark after dark. I thoroughly enjoyed 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒞𝒽𝓇𝒾𝓈𝓉𝓂𝒶𝓈 𝒯𝓇𝑒𝑒 𝐹𝒶𝓇𝓂. Bennett + Kira were absolutely adorable. Bennett, the MMC, is a total cinnamon roll willing to do anything for those he cares about. Kira, the FMC, appears to be quite prickly in the beginning but underneath that grumpy exterior is a heart of solid gold. They were each healing from things in their past and together they were able to heal and find a genuine love. This sweet romance is Christmas magic🎄✨
I cannot wait to reread this book at Christmas time!

~Small-Town Romance, Holiday Romance, GrumpyxSunshine, and more!~
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore follows Kira North, the new owner of the old Dream Harbor Christmas tree farm. The problem? Kira doesn't like Christmas and bought the property sight unseen. Kira is determined to fix the farm on her own and go from a spoiled trust fund baby to a self-sufficient homesteader. So when the handsome Bennett Ellis with a fixer complex comes to town for a vacation, what will happen when he meets the stubborn owner of the Christmas tree farm who refuses to accept help? Will it just be a holiday fling, or will it turn into something more?
4.5| First, before even reading this book, I loved the playlist and map. It is a great addition that really set the scene for the book and also allowed me to picture the town more clearly. I think the map could be a bit bigger in the future; I was reading on a Kindle, so I had to put it close to my face to make out the words. I finished this book in less than a day because it was so captivating and hard to put down. I loved Kira's character and how strong, determined, and stubborn she is. The more I learned about her backstory, the more I understood her character and decisions. She and Bennett had great chemistry, and I enjoyed this book being more of a slow burn. The back-and-forth between their personalities was great, and I loved the contrast between her not wanting to accept help and him wanting to fix everything for her. I loved Kira's interaction with his dogs and how soft she was towards them.
One thing I really enjoyed about this book was how they both found themselves and wrapped up some loose ends before finding their way back to each other. Kira and Bennett had a lot of character growth throughout the book, which I appreciated. Seeing Kira make friends and finally find a sense of belonging was great to see, and I love how much her confidence grew throughout the book. I did feel like some of the sentences were odd and made me re-read them a couple of times before fully understanding what it was trying to say. I also found it a little odd that Kira's first thought was to sell the items Bennett finds. It seems the letters had a lot of sentimental value for her, so selling the items that represent the love of those people she read about didn't really make sense as her first thought. The side characters were great; I loved what they added to the story. I would have liked to see some reunion with Kira and her sister to tie everything up.
Overall, I loved the vibe of the story and the town it takes place in. It very much gave mature Hallmark movie! The characters and chemistry were great. Kira and Bennett were truly a couple I was rooting for up until the end of the book! I was so excited to read this book and even more excited to read what's next in the town of Dream Harbor!
I loved this book!!! The Christmas Tree Farm is such a cute story surrounding Kira, who bought the aforementioned farm sight-unseen, and Bennett, who's in town visiting his sister. It's filled with holiday cheer, a little skepticism, some mystery, and just enough spice. Highly recommend!
Laurie Gilmore writes the best cozy books for various holiday seasons and this one is no different. The romance and the plot makes you feel all festive inside like you're ready to break out the Christmas tree. I felt like I was reading a Hallmark movie with a splash of Gilmore Girls.
This book is like a Hallmark series and I am here for it. Something about this pulls me in… I loved it so much. Thank you NetGallley for the opportunity to read this early ARC.
I LOVED the Pumpkin Spice Cafe so I was super excited to read this one! It put me in such a Christmassy mood! (Hush, I know it’s August!) It was such a cozy and fun romance. Kira and Bennett are EVERYTHING! I really love that in both Pumpkin Spice Cafe and this one, there's this little bit of mystery that the characters would like solved. I love the ending and how the relationship played out.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harper 360 for the ARC!
I was so excited to receive this arc! The pumpkin spice cafe was one of my favorite books ever, and this was such a sweet addition to the series. I felt like Kira could be a little too grumpy sometimes compared to Bennett, but overall they were such a good match. Loved this and love this author!
Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for the arc of “The Christmas Tree Farm” by Laurie Gilmore.
I enjoyed reading this book, especially the cameo of the other couples from previous books and their found family was lovely. However, I didn’t really like the FMC. She was very rude to the townspeople and Bennett and I could not understand Bennett’s attraction to her. I did enjoy the Christmas and small town vibe and the spice was great as well.
Kira- local Christmas tree farm owner knows no bounds when she buys the farm, wants to do everything on her own and wants no help from Jeanie’s brother Bennett, who is staying above the Pumpkin spice Cafe fixing up the house & farm. When eventually after a storm and talking they become friendly, the spiciest one I’ve read yet. I love Christmas books! Thanks to netgalley & the publisher for the ARC. Will own copy’s
I found the aspect of community to be the most appealing since everyone seemed to know each other, making the town feel very friendly. Kira the protagonist was a lovely character and the story was quite interesting to me. Also, the romantic subplot of the main male character Ben was well developed and realistic. All in all, this is a charming Christmas story that left me with the warmest of fuzzies from beginning to end.
Thank you to One More Chapter and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.
Laurie Gilmore's The Christmas Tree Farm is a charming and steamy addition to the Dream Harbor series. This romantic comedy perfectly captures the essence of the holiday season while delivering a heartwarming love story.
Kira, a Christmas-hating city girl, finds herself 'unexpectedly' owning a Christmas tree farm in the quaint town of Dream Harbor. Her world collides with Bennett Ellis, a charming and easygoing Californian, who's looking for a holiday escape. Their initial clash is as frosty, but as they work together to transform the farm into a winter wonderland, their relationship begins to warm.
Gilmore expertly weaves together humor, romance, and a touch of mystery to create a captivating story. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the small-town setting adds a cozy atmosphere. The "grumpy and sunshine" trope is executed flawlessly, with Kira's initial cynicism providing a perfect contrast to Bennett's infectious optimism.
If you're looking for a feel-good holiday romance with a dash of spice, The Christmas Tree Farm is the perfect choice. Gilmore's writing is engaging and addictive, making it impossible to put this book down.
4.5 fun, steamy stars
this was a delightful read. kira and bennett story was just so sweet. felt like a hallmark movie.charming christmas vibes. there a snow storm and dogs .all the cozy feels.
I love this book so much. It had all the best things: reverse grumpy/sunshine, adorable dogs, snow, small town Christmas vibes and a sprinkle of found family. I read this in August and it was so full of Hallmark Christmas goodness that I'm ready to put up my tree. This series can do no wrong. I can't wait for the proper season to roll around so I can read this book all over again. Spice 3/5

The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore was a great read. It has a similar feel to a Hallmark movie but with spice! Kira takes her trust fund and decides to buy a Christmas tree farm, funny thing is, she knows nothing about running a business and doesn’t particularly care for Christmas.
Bennett heads to town to stay with his sister over the Thanksgiving to New Year holiday and meets Kira while walking his dogs on her farm. Bennett can’t help himself to jumping in to help Kira with things around the farm and their romance grows from there.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Get yourself comfy, and get ready for this darling story of the most sweet story with the most darling characters. It was so precious.
Thank you Harper 360 & NetGalley for this ARC!
I loved this story! This whole series is the perfect cozy but spicy romance I needed in my life. I truly loved every bit of it!
I was provided the opportunity to read an ARC of this novel by the publisher, author and NetGalley.
I have adored the two previous novels so I was super hopeful for this novel. Did Laurie just take a Christmas themed book and knock it out of the ballpark, well Christmas tree farm?! Absolutely she did!!
This novel was the perfect balance of sugar, and spice! I adored the FMC and MMC and the banter! This was such a grumpy sunshine novel that I don’t know if I’ll find another Christmas one I’ll love again. This novel follows Kira and Bennett.
Kira, is the owner of a Christmas tree farm but ironically hates Christmas. Bennett is on vacation in Dream Harbor and escaping his life in California where his love life is a disaster. These two meet and Ben sets out to help Kira with her farm despite her stubborn ways.
This story is one I’ll read every year! I love it so much and think all cozy holiday romance readers should give this one a shot

I loved "The Pumpkin Spice Cafe" by this author so I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of "The Christmas Tree Farm." I went into this book with really high hopes and the author definitely didn't disappoint me!
This storyline reminded me of everything I love about Hallmark Christmas movies. I binged the entire book cover to cover in an evening and it left me wanting to pull out my Holiday Decor a few months early.
I think readers are really going to connect with these characters, especially the MMC Bennett who is a loveable cinnamon roll.
I'd definitely add this one to your holiday TBR!
Thank you Laurie Gilmore, Bet Galley and Harper 360 for providing me with an ARC of this book!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. The Christmas Tree Farm is a cozy holiday romance meeting all your needs. Kira is looking for a fresh start and with a little late night scrolling and desire to leave Georgia, she blindly buys a Christmas tree farm and moves to New England.
Stuck with her choices, she needs to work to make it her own but also to keep the lights on, literally. Handsome and handy Bennett see her in need and can’t help himself with assisting her. Through the trials tribulations to the holiday season, Kira and Ben look to see if the choices they made make sense for forever or is just the holidays?
This was adorable. I am a huge hallmark fan and this gave exactly as advertised. Give me the season, the lights, the dogs, the snowstorm romance. It will get you into the holiday spring and WISH Bennet could serve you.
I highly recommend for its short term bliss and holiday escaping needs.

This series gives me Gilmore Girl vibes every single time!! I really wanted to get Bennetts story after book 1 so I was very glad to finally get more from him. Why someone who dislikes Christmas buys a Christmas tree farm is beyond me but it made for a great story. Loved how these two were forced together from some bad weather.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harper 360 for the ARC!
This book was such a cozy read! I loved Bennett (how could you not) and Kira grew on me. I love the whole dream harbor family! Super quick- finished in a day.
As an avid Hallmark Christmas movie watcher, this book exceeded all my expectations! This book made my Christmas loving heart so happy. It was a beautiful story with the perfect amount of romance and spice. Definitely difficult to put this book down! The character development for both main characters was great, and I always enjoy a dual POV. I look forward to reading more books from this author!
📚ARC REVIEW📚
These books are so cozy. I’m really enjoying this series so far. Christmas Tree Farm by TS was stuck in my head the whole time reading this book. I loved all the holiday vibes. This book was like a Hallmark Christmas movie (with some spice). It’s going to be the perfect read during the holidays.
Bennett Ellis. That’s all. We love him. ❤️🎄
Thank you so much to Harper Collins 360, NetGalley, and Laurie Gilmore for granting me access to this ARC!
The third book set in Dream Harbor. I've read the previous one, but still need to go back and read book 1.
This is such a fun series to read - easy stories, fun romances, interesting characters and the dialogs are so much fun!
Bennett is back in town, visiting his sister, when he runs into Kira, a newcomer in town running a big Christmas tree farm. Kira bought a tree farm unseen and is disappointed to find the house and farm in disrepair. Bennett is the good guy that tries to help her, the sunshine to her grumpy. Their banter back and forth is so much fun and their romance was fun to watch bloom.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
I loved this book so much. It will really get you into the holiday spirit. After reading the first two books of this series, I had to run and grab this one and it did not disappoint. This was such a cozy holiday read with the perfect amount of spice. I would highly recommend this entire series.
I received a free copy of The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore for an honest review! Thank you @harpercollins360 for the ARC
This book has all the cute Christmas vibes! 🎄Kira is from Georgia and ends up buying a Christmas Tree Farm in Dream Harbor, to try and do something for herself since growing up everything was always given to her. But she just keeps running into more and more problems, forcing herself to have to say yes to help, and that help happens to be Bennett Ellis, who is only visiting for a month. She has been trying to stay away from Ben because she knows they have no future together and her feelings are growing for him. Together, will they make her Christmas Tree Farm all that she ever wanted? And what will happen to Kira and Ben’s hearts at the end of this??!
My only thing with this book was almost a little bit too much spice for me personally, but still a cute easy read! 🥰
Tropes: Grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity
Absolutely yes!! This is the best little cozy Christmas love story I’ve been craving. Coming from reading the Pumpkin Spice Cafe last year, this book easily tops that for all the vibes. This little town and all its characters have my whole heart. I cannot wait for more!
It’s like a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form!! This is my second one of these books in the series and they are just so cute. They have that cozy, feel good vibe that makes you want to light a few candles and cuddle up under a blanket to read all day. Although I am reading this book in the middle of a heat wave, I feel as if Christmas is just right around the corner.
In this book, many characters are brought back from the first book (The Pumpkin Spiced Cafe) and new ones are added. I love this because you get the best of both worlds, old characters you love and new ones to fall in love with.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I truly enjoyed it
”this past christmas was my favorite, too. i hope we have a lot more together. i was thinking a lifetime of them might be enough.”₊ ⊹
my thoughts┊okaaaay, this served the ooey gooey goodness i’ve been needing in my life! moreso 3.5, but definitely happily rounding up.
i loved this! bennett and kira were suuch a good couple; this is probably my favorite from the series thus far. i loved the christmas tree farm setting, seeing kira grow into herself as an independent girlie and making roots for herself in dream harbor. and bennett was *chef’s kiss* favorite male character from this series for sure. their developments as characters complimented their relationship so well.
the angst made my heart hurt, too! i was really in my feels with this one. i teared up a little towards the end at the scene with the letters 🥲 so so so sweet!
so very happy i decided to pick up this series; it’s perfect for some feel good, cozy vibes. very much looking forward to the next/last (?) book! i’m imagining that it will be annie and mac’s story, finally, and i cannot wait to see how their story develops!
“So, I guess, I’m saying the word…”
Kira is my favorite Dream Harbor resident to date – hands down. Laurie Gilmore is striking gold with this series. The largely conflict free (no life shattering lies, no betrayal, relatively little drama) blossoming romances with damaged but rational people are a breath of fresh air. The Christmas Tree Farm is no different. As soon as Bennett was announced in The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore I immediately knew I wanted to read his story.
“You wouldn’t try to snuggle with a feral cat, and tugging Kira into his arms right now would amount to the same thing.”
Without getting too much into the story because *spoilers* I am not disappointed by this in the slightest. It is exactly what I wanted – cozy Hallmark/Lifetime holiday movie vibes while poking fun at Hallmark/Lifetime holiday movies. The chemistry between Kira and Bennett is excellent. How they read each other without issue but also don’t push or provoke one another because they recognize they individually have their own issues to work out was great. It created a really nice push-and-pull between them. The chemistry between the ever growing core friend group was also great. I love how welcoming and warm they all are together and was really happy to see Kira finally let that wall down. The touch about the letters and our generation hit the nail on the head. I found love letters my grandfather wrote my grandmother when they were dating, and they are some of my most treasured items. How this ended with their letters was perfect…. who wants to read a printout of DMs?!
Solid 4/5 – great cozy holiday read. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! Please please tell me that we’ll be getting one for Annie and Mac too at some point? I NEED TO KNOW THEIR HISTORY!
Thank you Harper360, Laurie Gilmore, and NetGalley for the eARC!
I couldn’t wait any longer for another Laurie Gilmore book and The Christmas Tree Farm was another five star read for me. Such a cute cozy story I love every single part of it.
Quote “ ‘You’re moving, Bennett. Here to Dream Harbor, to live here with me and our far too many dogs and possibly a future reindeer or two. And we will live happily ever after. Is that clear enough?’ “
Something I would say to my partner.
Mini Summary
Kira (Peaches) the grinch of Christmas decided to buy a Christmas Tree Farm at Dream Harbor where she finds Bennett (Mr. Fixer) she wants no help from him but he sees her freezing he can’t bare himself leaving her in the cold whether she didn’t ask for his help he decides to fix a few things around the house so her stay will be warm.
Bennett side story is on vacation visiting his sister the owner of the Pumpkin Spice Cafe but also to disconnect himself from his disastrous dates. Kira is now in the opens to welcome the town folks of Dream Harbor but due to her unwelcoming charm she finds herself stepping out of the grinch mode and opening herself to the town. Kira and Bennett find themselves stranded in the tree farm house due to a heavy snowstorm. As much as they both didn’t want to fall in love with each and fall into old habits they can’t denied any longer their feelings.
Thank you Net Gallery for the advance reading
Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for allowing me to read this eARC early. This book is #3 in the Dream Harbor series but you do not need to read them in order.This one is a cute and heartwarming Christmas book.
The Christmas vibes are spot on, and the small-town feel adds to the charm.
I loved the side plot about finding hidden treasure—it brought a cozy mystery element to the story. The tension and spice between Kira and Bennett were HOT and enjoyable! The character development is excellent; their vices felt very authentic and relatable.
Overall, it's a delightful book that really gets you in the holiday spirit. Highly recommend for a warm and festive reading experience!
Thank you HarperCollins & Netgalley for the eARC!
This series is Hallmark movies but to read 📖🥰
I just love how each season are represented in the first three books:
Fall for The Pumpkin Spice Cafe
Summer for The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore
Winter for The Christmas Tree Farm
And spring for the upcoming book: The Strawberry Patch Pancake House.
I really liked the She is grumpy, He is sunshine trope 💞
Being back to the town of Dream Harbor felt like a cozy dream.
The book is so addictive, it can be read on one sitting and you’ll be wanting more at the end 🥰
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a light quick and easy read. I loved that it was cozy. This was my first my this author but will not be my last. Can’t wait to read more by this author!
to echo my review of the previous books in this series, this is cozy-candy-cane fun! if you are looking for a book to spend an snow day with, this is a great choice
dream harbor is full of sincere characters you want to root for and simple storylines that make for a nice & quick read
Laurie Gilmore has done it again. I am pretty sure Bennett and Kira are by far my favorite couple from Dream Harbor. I always say I read for the feels and boy did I get feelings reading this and made me want to pick up and become a Dreamer!
I am a sucker for a third act breakup and boy did it deliver. I will definitely be back for more Dream Harbor.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Kira is not a fan of the holidays. She made a decision to buy a farm in a quaint little town. She keeps seeing Bennett around her farm and grows to like him. A nice read.
You can never go wrong with a Laurie Gilmore book and this one might have been my favorite one yet! First of all it was so cozy and a Christmas book at this time of year was exactly what I needed. Going back into the world of Dream Harbor was truly a dream come true! I can never get enough of this town or all the quirky wonderful people that live there. I loved Bennett from Jeanie’s book but seeing him get his own love story was epic. Kira was such a force and I loved how much the book was about their growth to being better versions of themselves separately and together. The dogs were such a fun addition, I loved all their little personalities. And I absolutely adore the underlying mystery that goes along with all these books, it’s such a fun side plot that I can’t get enough of! This book was just a warm hug, fun and sexy and Bennett is officially a new favorite book boyfriend. Immediate 5 stars! I can’t wait to keep going back to Dream Harbor!
5/5 stars. This book is everything I love about Christmas novels wrapped in a cute little cover. I cant tell you how much this book put me in a christmas-y mood and its only September.!! The characters were so much fun and there's nothing like a few loveable side pup characters. I enjoyed that a few characters that we have met in the past are also incorporated in this book.
This book makes me want to open my own Christmas Tree Farm and enjoy all the holiday feels. I absolutely loved this book and all the rest of Gilmore's novels!
I read this as an ARC from NetGalley and @HarperCollins360, oh my did it not disappoint. This is the perfect cozy winter read. It was not overpowering with Christmas but rather a prelude to Christmas. It would make for a great post Thanksgiving read. The connection between the main characters is palpable throughout the book.
The only reason for the 4 stars is the ending, I did not want the story to end and would have rather had a few more chapters for the story to further evolve than to end on the almost abrupt note that it did.
However I will continue to recommend this book and series to anyone and everyone and cannot wait for book 4.
I’m so beyond obsessed with Laurie Giilmore now!!! It’s an addition. This was just as good as the first two! I loved Bennett and didn’t expect to because I thought he would always be a b/c character. But the romance and the plot was so fun! Onto the fourth!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC. The relationships that Laurie Gilmore creates are just so sweet. The Christmas Tree Farm starts with Kira being the grumpy one where you wonder why she even came to Dream Harbor. However, the type of person Bennett is was exactly what she needed. I related a lot more to Hazel, but I appreciated the build up of Kira and her self worth.
You can't go wrong with Laurie Gilmore. Her books always grab you from the start and have amazing small town books that get you in the holiday mood. I wish it was Christmas and it's only September. This is book #3 and I can't wait for book #4 to come out. You did it again Laurie Gilmore and thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC.
Thank you to Harper Collins Publishing, NetGalley, and to Laurie Gilmore for the advanced copy to read!
The Christmas Tree Farm is book 3 of the Dream Harbor series. I have read The Cinnamon Bookshop and now this one. I have The Pumpkin Spice Cafe ordered on my kindle- only $0.99 on Amazon right now! I have found you can read the books out of order without much confusion.
I really enjoyed The Christmas Tree Farm- Kira and Bennett's love story. I believe this is my favorite book out of the series. It is a very spicy read! Even though I am beyond ready for the Fall season, reading The Christmas Tree Farm had me wanting it to be Christmas!
Gilmore does a wonderful job writing a cozy small town filled with quirky and lovable characters. If you are a Gilmore Girls fan and love Stars Hollow, you will enjoy the Dream Harbor series! I like that with each book, we get to know more about the town and all who live there. I am very much looking forward to reading more! Gilmore provides you the Hallmark movie feel with her stories! Do not hesitate to pick up The Christmas Tree Farm or to add it to your TBR pile.
"For anyone who ever wished Hallmark Christmas movies were steamier, this one might do the trick."
Yes, yes I think this one did the trick. This book left me feeling like I had indeed just stepped foot inside a cozy wintery Hallmark movie and I did not want to leave. I found myself grinning and kicking my feet throughout this whole book. This is a small town romance, grumpy x sunshine, slow burn and I am here for all of it!!!
The Christmas Tree Farm is the 3rd book in the Dream Harbor series, which I would call an interconnected stand alone series. The book has mentions of things that have happened in previous books, and of course the characters are from all the previous books but you would be fine without reading the rest.
This story follows Kira, the new resident of the old Christmas Tree farm in town and Bennett, Jeanie's brother who is just in town for the holidays. Kira came to Dream Harbor to start her life over and prove to herself she can be independent and not rely on everyone else. So she used her inheritance and purchased the old Christmas Tree Farm sight unseen. The downside, it had little heat and was run down. Oh and she had no idea how to run a farm, just an idea of what she had seen on social media. In her quest to become a new independent individual she became the town Grinch and wanted nothing to do with anyone. That is until she stumbled upon Bennett one morning as he was walking his dogs unknowingly on her newly owned property.
Bennett is in Dream Harbor just for the holidays to appease his sister and to get out of California for a little while. He finds himself trespassing on the once abandoned Christmas Tree farm property when his dogs lead him right to the new grinchy owner, Kira North. Their first interaction was less than ideal but Bennett quickly found himself finding reasons to visit the farm and finding a way past her tough act and into her heart.
This book was such a cute story and I loved every minute of it. I cannot wait to read the next story.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper360 for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
3.5 rounded up to 4 stars
I read this immediately after the cinnamon bun bookstore! What fun bingeable stories! I really like the natural flow and ease this author writes with and the small town community she has created in this series. I need to go back and read the first one and I’ll definitely read the fourth.
If I had to say, the second had a more relatable main character for me and the angst and banter felt more sharp and like a build up. This one it felt like it was trying a little hard but that’s me being nit picky.
It’s a great seasonal story of love I’ll recommend to other romance readers. Thank you for the arc!
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is the third book in the Dream Harbor series and I was so fortunate as to receive an advanced reader copy of it! So, naturally, I sunk into my couch and did not emerge until I devoured it 😅 NO REGRETS. Laurie just outdid herself with this one! Fun town banter? Check. Sweet hallmark style love story? Check. Toe curling spice in a Christmas setting? Check. Bennett, our MMC, is a Clark Kent style Cinnamon Roll hero who Kira, our fiercely independent FMC describes as “polite in the streets but a beast in the sheets”. And if that sentence doesn’t convince you to read this book then what are you really doing with your life? 😂 The Christmas Tree Farm is 100% worth the read and should definitely be on your radar!
One of the best series I’ve ever read! I loved all of the characters and enjoy learning more about them with each subsequent book! Can’t wait for #4!!
Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read this advanced copy. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
So much fun, a perfect continuation in this small town series. I love how cozy and wintery everything was. So perfect for upcoming winter nights to get you in the right mood for the holidays! A lovely romance and so well done.
Quick and easy read to continue this series. Laurie Gilmore is amazing at creating small town, hallmark vibes. All her books are so cozy for so many different reasons, this one was great because of the winter vibes.
I would love the thank NetGalley and Harper360 for this ARC and being able to continue the Dream Harbor series! This was a very quick read for me and absolutely loved it!
I loved how I got a Small town Romance feel to this book and it is definitely a nice holiday/Christmas read! I cannot wait to have the physical copy of this book to add to my collection!!
The FMC being grumpy was fun and that he was the sunshine. I really like that there was deeper backstories to both characters in this one. It was very cozy like the first two books were, Laurie Gilmore really nails the Hallmark movie/Stars hallow vibe. If you like small town reads that are a bit cheesy but feel good this book is for you!
Thank you so much to netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Alright, Laurie Gilmore, I love you. And I love Dream Harbor. This was my favorite in the series so far, Bennett is perfect and dreamy and everything I want in a man. While I don't particularly relate to Kira in many ways, (other than her love of dogs, and animals in general) I love how real she feels. Like a real person with real insecurities and personal issues.
I never want to leave Dream Harbor, please take me back there as soon as possible, I cannot wait for the next book.
So cute!! An absolute end of the year read!! The characters and setting are so cozy! Would definitely recommend!
After devouring the first two books of this series, I was fortunate enough to receive an eArc for "The Christmas Tree Farm". Thank you for letting me read a copy of this before release! also, this might be the most spoiler-y review I've written but I need to explain what scenario was the cause of my decision to rate this book what I rated it.
That being said, I'm not sure I was in the right seasonal mindset for this as I just got into fall cozy read mode and maybe doing a Christmas read was too much *insert anxious self deprecating face here*. Even with that, this was a 3.75 star read for me and here's why:
The biggest trope in this book to me was the grumpy/sunshine which I usually enjoy. However, this was a little different because the Grumpy part of this equation was REALLY off-putting at the beginning and there was no "who hurt you?" to make it ok. That character just rubbed me the wrong way and while it was labeled as them hiding their true colors, it was real hard to shake off their previous actions, especially when the change of personality happened so fast.
The saving grace of this whole book was the cinnamon roll of the sunshine character and the supporting characters from the previous books. I love this town setting and the people in it and I couldn't be driven away by the grumpiest of grumps. looking forward to the fourth book and hoping for more of the swoon worthy men in this town!
This is the stuff Holiday movies are made of—prickly pear heroines who move to the country, cinnamon roll heroes to save the day, and dogs, all the dogs. I loved the letters. They were a nice touch.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360 for allowing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review! I may just add this to my list of books I need to reread each holiday season. Bennet and Kira were adorable. Add them to a backdrop of the small town Christmas season and it was the perfect cozy read. The book held the adventure of a treasure hunt, the inviting small town community, as well as just enough spice. I loved that this wasn’t just a romance but there was real depth to the characters struggling through self-exploration and growth. That their personal growth ended with a happily ever after was just the cherry on top. I can’t recommend this book enough and may even like it a bit better than The Pumpkin Spice Cafe (and that’s saying something)!
Laurie has done it again!! I loved the concept of having a FMC that hates Christmas. I feel like usually it would be the MMC. I got the same fun vibes from the previous two books. Great book for the holiday season!
Christmas is coming earlier this year, actually in the middle of September for me (thanks to Netgalley), and it's super cool because this is my favorite season.
"The Christmas Tree Farm" is the third book of the Dream Harbor series and now readers meet winter in the small town.
Kira North hates Christmas. Ironically, looking at her last name and the fact that she bought Tree Farm in the middle of the holiday season. She is grumpy and has zero intense to fall in love.
Bennett is the sunshine owner of three dogs, who coming to visit his sister in the Dream Harbor. He is struggling with saving complex but this time helping Kira feels right.
It was nice to meet characters from the previous two books and they spending Christmas together.
And ok, there are three cutest dogs in the plot so this book can't be bad.
The story is cute, nice, and cozy with perfect holiday vibes. Yes, it's a little bit predictable but in a nice way. The opposite grumpy/sunshine is written properly and lovelly.
"The Christmas Tree Farm" is now my favorite part of the series and I look forward to reading Iris story next spring.
This might be one of my new favorite authors. This is a great read for christmas time!! Love these books by Laurie Gilmore. Also gives me gilmore girl vibes!!
Very cute holiday small town romance. I love when the fmc is the grump in the story. Kira is kinda closed off in the beginning and is only sweet to dogs. Ben is the ultimate golden retriever who is too good for his own good. The town and its people seem so charming, I will have to pick up the other books set here.
As with the other books in this series, I loved reading about this town and these characters! Even though this is about a Christmas tree farm it could easily be read any time of the year. Heartwarming, touching and fun! Many thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for read and review
“For anyone who ever wished Hallmark Christmas movies were steamier, this one might do the trick.”
The book made me laugh from literally the dedication page. It was also my favorite couple of the series, having two people who were not originally tied to the town both learn to let go of past scars, grow as individuals, and start to embed themselves in the town.
Overall, the book is a cozy and quick read, perfect for those looking to curl up with some holiday cheer and silly town shenanigans.
Thank you to NetGalley, Laurie Gilmore, and Harper 360 for providing me with an advanced reader copy.
The Christmas Tree Farm is the perfect addition to the Dream Harbor series. I cannot get over this small town holiday romance.
Kira and Bennet are beyond adorable together. Their backstories and character growth make this story relatable. As always these mcs have incredible character growth and you'll find yourself sitting there rooting for them.
I loved seeing past characters throughout the story and it's a nice touch to see their relationships progressing as the series goes on.
Laurie Gilmore did it again with another Hallmark worthy book. Once again I cannot wait to see what comes next in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance review copy in return for an honest review. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I just love the dream farm books. They’re so cozy and fun. This one was another hit for me!
I think I am ready to pack my bag and head to Dream Harbor! If you want cozy hallmark romances with spice --- this series is for you!
I really liked Kira’s character and how the quaint small town and Bennett were able to thaw some of her icy exterior. She’s determined to do something on her own, for herself, while grieving the life she had with her twin sister (and missing her deeply) and while she has to overcome a lot, she definitely came out on top.
Bennett is a fixer, it’s one of his greatest attributes and greatest downfalls, he’s been heartbroken before because of it and while he wants to help Kira, he struggles with questioning her intentions.
I finished this book in one sitting, it was all things warm and wintery, perfect for sitting on the couch with a hot cup of tea and comfy pajamas.
This was yet another fantastic book by Laurie Gilmore. I have always wanted a spicy Hallmark movie/book and Laurie Gilmore nailed it! I love the grumpy sunshine trope so much and Laurie does it so well. This is book 3 in the series and I really love that you get to revisit the characters from other books and get a glimpse into how things have progressed for them as well. I also really loved that the FMC Kira was the grumpy one and Bennett was the sunshine. 90% of the time it is the MMC that is grumpy so this was really refreshing to read!
As always Laurie Gilmore's character/world building is absolute perfection. I feel so connected to these characters and to Dream Harbor and I just wish I could visit there. So far every book in this series has just gotten better and better and I can't wait to see what comes next in the series.
Just like the first 2 books in the series, I loved this one! Although Kira is first introduced in Book 2 you can read this as a standalone book. This book is a funny Rom-Com but also includes some spicy scenes! My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that I was hoping this book would have been about the woman (can't think of her name) that owned the bakery since she was introduced in the first book. This book still did not disappoint, and I highly recommend!
Cozy hallmark Christmas movie vibes, but with spice🎄
Kira is the grumpy new owner of the Christmas tree farm in Dream Harbor who has her hands full trying to get the place up and running. Meanwhile Bennett is a problem fixer who happens to be in town escaping his own problems. She is too stubborn to take his help and he is all green flags in helping her anyways. This book has the Christmas spirit and plenty of mistletoes to go around 🎅
“I realized, maybe too late, that being independent doesn’t have to mean being alone”
The Christmas Tree Farm is the 3rd book in the Dream Harbor series but they are all interconnected standalones, so you could jump into this one no problem.
This ARC was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The Christmas Tree Farm will be published October 22nd.
I really really enjoyed this book! I wish it got a little spicy sooner but I was won over in the end! I love these small town hallmark romances! I need this to be a movie, along with your other books!! Can’t get enough of LG and can’t wait for the next read 🥰
Fast paced, well written with familiar characters but also easily read as a standalone this book is filled with plenty of Christmas touches and just enough heat to warm you up on a cold winter’s night.
Like much of the TikTok world, I have fallen in love with Dream Harbor and can’t turn back! I cannot wait to reread this by the fire in the winter. I absolutely loved the trope that the female, Kira, was the grumpy one. This trope is not very common and I love it! I can’t wait for book 4!!
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is the 3rd book in her Dream Harbor Series.
Kira purchased a Christmas tree farm and run-down Victorian home sight unseen and is less than pleased when the locals want her to open up for the season. Bennett is visiting his sister Jeanie for a month over the Christmas Holiday and is immediately thrown into small town life, including being volunteered to befriend the new Christmas Tree Farm owner to research the town’s rumors.
Bennett’s tendency to “fix” things and Kira’s refusal to accept help from anyone leaves a lot of room for misunderstandings and TENSION between the two, but a snowstorm might be just what they need to get them on the same page.
This story was cute, cozy, and overall a good time.

Laurie Gilmore is a new to me author. I’ve seen so much talk about her Fall book I knew I had to try to get my hands on the ARC for her Christmas one. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This is the PERFECT holiday story. Who doesn’t love a story set on a Christmas Tree Farm & a slow burn romance that turns real spicy, real quick? It was perfection. I was giggling throughout the book- it was funny, it was sweet, it was heartwarming. This book was a breath of fresh holiday air. I can’t wait to read Laurie’s other ones in this series! 4⭐️ read for me!
Kira has bought a Christmas tree farm, but it is more than she can handle. Bennett is visiting his sister and takes his dog for a walk in the woods and ends up trespassing on the Christmas tree farm. will he be willing to help Kira?
Talk about living in a cozy Hallmark movie! This small town romance had me grinning from ear to ear the whole time I was reading it! Kira (who doesn't even like Christmas) decided to leave her life in Georgia and move to Dream Harbor to start a new life and find her true self by buying a Christmas tree farm. Along the way she meets Bennett, or as he likes to call himself Mr. Fix-It! Bennett is in town to visit his sister for the holidays but finds himself drawn to the somewhat recluse Christmas tree farm owner. As the relationship progresses, they both find themselves trying to break old dating habits and ultimately forming a wonderful relationship. This was a quick and easy ready for me and will definitely be recommending to my friends as a cozy read for the holidays!
I was sent this ARC by NetGalley and Harper360 and this is my honest review.
Another perfect addition to the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore! This cozy Christmas book makes me want to put my Christmas tree up now- in September! I’ve been known to have my tree up before Halloween, so this isn’t too much of a stretch for me 😆. The Christmas Tree Farm is set in Dream Harbor, a Stars Hollow-esque town. As a big fan of Gilmore girls, I loved finding the similarities between the town and the townspeople. This sweet (with a dash of spice) novel follows Kira and Bennett on their quest to reinventing themselves. Kira buys a Christmas tree farm, sight unseen, to prove to herself that she can make it on her own. Bennett is a fixer who is trying to convince himself that he doesn’t need to save every damsel in distress, because some damsels don’t need saving. Kira’s and Bennett’s energy is very black cat/golden retriever meets forced proximity (snowed in- one of my favorite tropes 😍). Can these two overcome their own hang ups and admit to themselves that they need and love each other? If you enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies and Gilmore girls, read this book and find out! 🎄🎁☃️❄️
Such a fun read! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
This book was lovely, there’s no way a cute Christmas love story with spice will ever be bad! Although I wish there had been a bit more exploration of Bennett and Kira’s relationship outside of the snowstorm, it’s a fast read that gives all the gooey goodness of the holiday hallmark movies that I am addicted to will definitely read again during the Christmas season!
Ms. Scrooge meets Mr. Fix-It
I was so excited to be able to snag an ARC of The Christmas Tree Farm and go back to Dream Harbor.
*Small Town Romance
*Ms. Scrooge & Mr. Fit-It
*Forced Proximity
*Cozy mystery
*Spice
*Slow Burn
*He falls first
On a whim, Kira purchases an old Christmas Tree Farm in Dream Harbor in hopes of finding not only herself but independence she has always lacked. The last thing she expected was the cheerful and nosy neighbors. Hoarded up in her run-down farmhouse, Kira is alone and without heat.
Bennet is in town visiting his sister Jeanie. After several failed first dates, he has sworn off relationships. Only in town for the month, Bennet is surprised when he stumbles across the not-so-nice new tree farm owner while out walking his dogs. He instantly finds her attractive but plans to stay far way - yet the town has other plans. Bennet is volunteered to head to the tree farm in hopes of finding answers to the towns newest unsolved mystery.
Laurie Gilmore has once again given us a Hallmark Channel worthy love story filled with cozy mystery and all the spice. Oh, the spice - she took it up a notch! Bennet and Kira's slow burn story of she hates Christmas, and he can't help but to fall for her is a must read.
Kira just moved into the small town of Dream Harbor and is trying to reopen the run-down Christmas Tree Farm she bought, sight unseen. Although the town’s first impression of her wasn’t great, she’s hopeful she can drum up some business selling Christmas trees.
In comes Bennett, the brother of a local townsperson. Although he’s only visiting for the holidays, he decides to help Kira get the word out about the tree farm and help gain some customers.
This book gave major Gilmore Girls vibes with its small town feel - the town meetings, quirky townspeople, annual Christmas Tree Lighting festival, and a cute love story to boot! The witty banter had me giggling and kicking my feet, and the spice level was just right!
I also loved how characters from the first two books appeared and added to the storyline. A must read if you’re looking for a cute and cozy Christmas book!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper 360 for the ARC of this book.
This was such a fun, hallmarkesque Christmas romance! It’s definitely my favourite of the series so far. I thought that Bennet and Kira balanced each other so well, and I loved them together and individually. As always, I also loved seeing the whole cast of characters together, and had a great time reading this book! I 100% recommend this whole series :)
So so cozy and warm and Christmasy!!
This book made me start wishing fall was already done and over with so I could have Christmas and snow already! Our couple was so cute and I loved their relationship and how they felt like they truly loved one another.
The vibes and feels of this book are so perfect for the winter! Definitely pick it up near Christmas for maximum cozy vibes!!
I absolutely adored this book. This reverse grumpy/sunshine had me from the first page. The FMC is grumpy, feisty spitfire, The MMC is a cinnamon roll of the first order and I cannot recommend this book enough!
From book 1 of the Dream Harbor series I was ready to order every book!! I’ve already pre-ordered the next in the series.
I’m in love with the characters and I love that you can meet with them again in the new storylines.
It’s small town with a touch of spice!
Easy reads that I just can’t put down!
I don’t reread books, but I will reread this series!!!
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.
I will absolutely read anything this author writes now. I read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down. It seems like every time she puts out a new book it’s just as good as the last one. I don’t know how she does it.
Kira North has bought a Christmas tree farm but doesn’t really like Christmas. Bennett Ellis is just in town to visit his sister for the holidays. Can he convince her leave behind her grumpy ways and learn to love Christmas and him?
I absolutely loved this. It’s so cute. The whole series is so Hallmark with spice. I hope the series keeps going and going because I will keep reading every single one that comes out. I cannot wait for the next one.
This is a five out of five stars for me and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
The dedication in this book said something along the lines of if you like Hallmark movies but wish they had more spice, this is for you. And you know what, she’s right! 😂
Kira and Bennett meet in a small town when Kira moves in and decides to open a Christmas tree farm. Bennett is sent to have a look around the farm by the townies for a dead body that’s rumored to be there. He keeps making excuses to go back and look for the body but in the meantime Kira catches his eye in more way than one.
This book was the perfect amount of funny, sweet, spicy and a dash of mystery. I have not read the other books in this series but I will be adding them to my list for sure. I feel like I missed out of a few things and jokes from prior books but either way the book can stand alone. Loved the writing style.
This is the first ARC copy from NetGalley, so I was really excited to read this. This book was super cute! Very much hallmark vibes, and I loved every minute of it. The fact that there was also some spice in it made it even better for me. This book was a very cute, cozy, fluffy romance.
I picked this up after seeing the author’s last book, The Pumpkin Spice Café, all over social media. The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series and it’s a cozy, Hallmark-like romance. It's a sweet and spicy, small-town story with loads of charm.
Our heroine Kira has landed Dream Harbor, a small town in New England. She wanted a fresh start after her twin, Chloe, married and moved to Denmark. Kira grew up in Georgia, a rich girl with all the privileges of wealth, and, in an effort to prove to herself that she can make it on her own, she used her trust fund to purchase an old farmhouse in Dream Harbor sight unseen. She has depended on her family all her life, especially Chloe, and is determined to learn how to fend for herself. She has dreams of having a garden and making pickles.
But when she gets to Dream Harbor, she realizes the house has a Christmas tree farm and now that her boiler is barely working, she needs to get the tree farm up and running so she can afford a new one and doesn’t freeze over winter. (She is determined not to use her family money to solve her problems.) She's feeling pretty stressed and, one day, when she's both cold and grumpy, she runs into Bennet and his three dogs, walking through her farm. She gives him the cold shoulder and tells him he’s trespassing, but she loves dogs so she pets them and gives them doggie hugs before they leave.
Bennet grew up in the area and is visiting his sister, Jeanie, and staying in the apartment above the Pumpkin Spice Café. He'd moved across the country to California with a woman several years ago, but they broke up. He's in town for the holidays and working remotely (he’s a software engineer). Jeannie asks him to come to a town meeting and meet her friends. When he gets there, he finds a lively group making plans for the Tree Lighting Festival. When they find out he met Kira at the tree farm, they ask him to go back up and check on her because they think there could be a dead body or possibly a treasure on her property! Apparently, there was a cryptic letter in the house when the old owner, Edwin, died that claimed he had buried something important there. Bennet, who is sure Kira does not wish to see him, demurs. However, when they all stare at him, he gives in and says he will do it, even though he doesn't think she will talk to him.
Bennet is a super nice guy but has recently realized the girls he dates seem to be only interested in him when they need help with something. He’s a fixer and loves helping people but he also wants to be loved for himself, not for what he can do for someone. When he goes to see Kira, he tells her he wants to buy a tree for Christmas. Their conversation is funny and they make each other laugh. He asks her if she’s going to the Tree Lighting Festival and tells her she should go to let everyone know that the tree farm has reopened. When he offers to help her with things at her house (his dad was a contractor), she asks him if he gets off on helping people and lets him know that after having people help her all her life, she wants to try and do things on her own. However, when her tree farm gets busy and things become harder than she'd hoped, she begins to see that accepting help can be a good thing.
This story has tons of holiday festivities. There's ice skating, snow ball fights, hot chocolate, gingerbread cookies and making new friends. When a storm moves in and the power goes off, Kira and Bennet get snowed in at Kira’s place and enjoy their time in front of a crackling fireplace. One thing leads to another and they decide to have a holiday fling until Bennet has to go back to California. Together, they are spicy and sweet.
Kira and Bennet begin to fall for each other but they’ve only known each other for a month. Kira is worried about being hurt when Bennet goes back to California. Bennet wonders if what they have is real enough to uproot his life and move back across the country for. There is a third act break up--not my favorite--but it doesn’t last long.
This is my first book by Laurie Gilmore and while there were a few spots where I thought it was almost too sweet, I really loved the holiday festivities and romance. I think readers looking for a lighthearted, cozy and spicy holiday story to curl up to will find themselves smiling through this one.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper 360 & Laurie Gilmore for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Let me preface this by saying I've read the two books that came before and I will absolutely be reading the book(s) that come after. This series is PERFECTLY cozy and I'm all in.
With The Christmas Tree Farm we've arrived at Christmas time! Yay! We get the fun dynamic of a black cat FMC, who reluctantly must run the Christmas Tree Farm, and a cinnamon roll MMC, who just HAS to help. We get the setting of a CHRISTMAS TREE FARM and all the cozy vibes and holiday tropes (I'm looking at you, snowed in) that come with it. Just like the first two books, very coastal Star Hollow mood- very appreciated.
I'm definitely ready for the next installment- The Strawberry Patch Pancake house- featuring Iris. I'm hopeful we'll eventually get Annie's book. The buildup between Annie and Mac in these first three books has that anticipation building!!
As author Gilmore says in her dedication, “For anyone who ever wished Hallmark Christmas movies were steamier, this one might do the trick,” and how right she is. Like the movies, it’s a small town Christmas romance between a pseudo-local guy (his sister now lives in the town where they both frequently visited as kids) and a former Georgia debutante who buys a farm sight unseen because she’s running away from her oppressive, uber wealthy, socially-conscious parents after her twin and best friend “abandoned” her to follow her new husband to Denmark. Turns out the farm grows and sells Christmas trees, and Kira doesn’t know the first thing about the business (other than what she’s gleaned from homesteading influencers), and, ironically, doesn’t even like the holiday. Bennett’s love language is acts of service, but his compulsive need to fix things has made him a human doormat. He’s a gorgeous, kind, cinnamon roll book boyfriend and she’s the grumpy to his sunshine. However, at some point, she’s going to have to begin believing in herself and making new friends and he’s going to have to realize that not all women just want to use him.
Gilmore makes good on her promise to make this steamier than the traditional made-for-TV movies by giving us a male lead who is the good kind of alpha in the sheets and a female lead who matches his enthusiasm. Their chemistry is hot, but the spicy scenes are also full of laughter and strong feelings. Mix in a trio of friendly mutts, a low-key treasure hunt, a plethora of Christmas activities, and busybody friends and neighbors, and it’s a winning recipe. Recommended!
The perfect cover. The greatest story. Pure indulgence at holiday time if you love to read spicy books! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
This was a really fun holiday romance! Kira starts as the grumpy to Bennett's sunshine, but by the end of the novel, she's battled most of her demons, and her true self shines through. I love all the characters in this series, and it's nice to see how the others are progressing in their relationships. I need Annie and Mac's book, though! I'm rooting for those two!
I received a copy of this book as an ARC from NetGalley. Christmas Tree Farm is everything you could ask for in a holiday romance. The characters from the first 2 Dream Harbor books return for the holiday season with a couple new characters introduced. Kira is the spoiled heiress looking for a fresh start to stand on her own two feet and Bennett is Jeanie’s (pumpkin spice cafe owner) brother who is in town for the holidays and to escape his not so happy life on the west coast. The enemies to lovers slow burn is the best in the series so far and you really end up rooting for these characters to find their own independence while also finding companionship in each other.
I very much enjoyed the intricate descriptions of the town and tree farm that made me feel like I had stepped right into a Christmas wonderland. I felt the character growth was perfectly paced and I ended up wanting to snuggle with the puppies after the first couple of interactions the characters had with them. I very much look forward to seeing what else Laurie creates.
Kira North wants a fresh start. Her solution? Purchasing a Christmas tree farm sight unseen. In the midst of preparing to open the farm, she finds Bennett Ellis, a handsome man vacationing in Dream Harbor, walking her property with his dogs. Seeing Kira as another fixer-upper, Ben can’t seem to stay away. Will Kira’s heart grow three sizes or will she stay the stubborn, anti-Christmas Grinch?
Laurie’s dedication “for anyone who ever wished Hallmark Christmas movies were steamier” sums up this book beautifully. This story is the perfect cozy winter romance to get you in the holiday spirit. While reading I was actually wishing for snow in October (which I NEVER do).
This book is the third in the Dream Harbor series and while it is not necessary to read The Pumpkin Spice Café or The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore, I highly recommend it. There are characters and backstories that elevate this one and you’d be able to enjoy the cute Easter eggs sprinkled throughout. This series keeps getting better and better with each read and I find myself wishing I could transport myself into Dream Harbor with the snap of my fingers. I feel like this book helped me escape reality and I enjoyed every second of it.
The grumpy and sunshine trope is almost ALWAYS the MMC who is grumpy, but I loved how Laurie gave us a fresh twist as Kira, is the grumpy FMC instead. Throughout the book we learn about Kira’s life and how she became the latest resident in Dream Harbor. While I love a strong, independent woman, there were moments in this book where I struggled to connect with Kira and found her a little insufferable. As Kira’s heart opens up for Bennett, I think I found my heart opening up for Kira. I personally loved the forced proximity between Kira and Bennett and feel it was perfectly written. I found myself wishing I had a Bennett in my own life. I don’t love third act breakups usually in books, but because this was marketed as a book version of the Hallmark movies, I knew not only to accept it and actually thought it helped bring closure to some of the secondary plot lines.
Also, the music playlist at the start of the book was absolutely elite.
Overall, this book is ideal for a cozy Christmas read and I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper360 for giving me the chance to read this as an e-ARC!
I have enjoyed every minute of this series! a Christmas tree farm??! I mean are you kidding me, with a grumpy sunshine trope, I couldn’t ask for more: kira & bennet are just my favorite people!
Laurie Gilmore does it again!
Like the other Dream Harbor novels, this Christmas romance is full of the most lovable characters and has all the best tropes 🎄♥️
This book follows Kara after she bought a run down Christmas tree farm in holes of turning it into a homestead for herself. Determined not to fail, she has a hard time asking for help when the farm just isn’t what she pictured. Bills are piling up and she needs a working radiator! She reluctantly ends up restoring and re-opening the farm to make ends meet. All along the way Bennett is there lending a helping hand, which she doesn’t know if she likes.
If you love Christmas this story will seriously warm your heart. There’s twinkle lights, snowball fights, getting snowed in together, a woman who hates Christmas, and a man who loves it. This might be my favorite Dream Harbor story yet. Make sure to add it to your Christmas TBR 😌🎅🏼

I am thoroughly obsessed with Dream Harbor. This town and the vibes are just perfect. Kira fits in well with everyone even if it takes her a bit to come out of her shell. Bennett is such a huge cinnamon roll. He wants (needs) to help those around him. The way he fell for Kira was just so wonderful. Definitely a beautiful, cozy Christmas read.
Thank you to Laurie Gilmore and NetGalley for this ařç copy!! This book has all the feels - the grumpy fmc and sunny mmc, the small town, found family, and of course a secret.
I think that’s what I love most about these books is that there’s always some sort of underlying mystery and it’s never quite what you think it is! I don’t know if I’d call this a holiday book other than the fact that she owns the farm, but still a cozy choice for fall and winter!
Laurie Gilmore gave us an adorable cozy holiday book in The Christmas Tree Farm.
Our FMC, Kira, buys a Christmas Tree Farm, sight unseen. She is trying to prove to herself that she can live a homesteader style life without help. Enters Bennett, our MMC, who has a major fix it personality. They clash at first but end up really warming up to each other with some great banter and spice. The spice is not overly descriptive but definitely not closed door either. Both Kira and Bennett have some really great growth in the book giving it some really great depth to the story.
This is my first Laurie Gilmore book and while this is the 3rd book in the Dream Harbor series, you don’t need to read the other books to understand this one. I will need to go back and read the other two books in this series though because this one was so great.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
This was my favorite from the series (so far). I love Bennett and Kira’s relationship! I also love how all the characters from the other two books show up often in this book as well. It’s such a cute community that makes me want to be a part of. I cannot wait for the next book ♥️
Truly was a steamy hallmark movie in book form. This was the coziest read with all my favorite tropes (reverse grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, small town romance) we even get a one bed moment! Binged within 24hrs and can’t wait to go back and read the first 2 in this series!
Putting aside the October vibes for just a sec to discuss this spicy and quirky story, The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore. This is book 3 of her Dream Harbor series, so we get a chance to revisit some of the characters from the previous 2 books. Here we get to know Bennett, the brother of Jeanie (the protagonist from the first book) who meets Kira, and she's not into Christmas at all. Kira is a difficult character to embrace, but I admire her willingness to improve and strengthen herself to be a better version of herself. I personally like to think Kira was the tough, cold exterior who refuses Bennett--and Bennett is the warmth that melts her away. Such a cozy read with a balanced amount of spice to keep us warm throughout the winter storm that the characters faced together.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Laurie Gilmore for providing me with a complimentary digital ARC for The Christmas Tree Farm coming out October 10, 2024. The honest opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I’m not sure if this book is coming out October 10th or 22nd. I really enjoy this series. The books can be read as standalone books. I love Hallmark movies, so this did feel like a spicer Hallmark movie. I really loved Ben’s character. I found him charming, even though it was sometimes hard to see why he’d pursue a prickly person. Kira wasn’t always my favorite. I’m not a fan of the grumpy character trope. It was a little unclear why she bought a Christmas tree farm if she hates Christmas. I think things really picked up in the second half of the book and I really enjoyed that. I really like this series and I’d definitely read more of them.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christmastime stories!
4⭐️
Alexa, play “Christmas Tree Farm” by Taylor Swift
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an advanced reader copy of “The Christmas Tree Farm” by Laurie Gilmore. I’ve really enjoyed this series and all the cozy hometown vibes and fun romances. This book was no exception: I absolutely devoured this! Bennet and Kira are the definition of a true grumpy x golden retriever combo. I was hesitant at first and thought there was going to be no way I actually liked Kira as she was honestly written as so unlikeable with some of the things she presents about herself and her behavior past and present towards others, but trust the process! I was a fan by the end. Additionally, I feel like this romance story was very realistic in this day and age which adds to the appeal.
This is the perfect holiday read and I can’t wait for everyone to get their little Dream Harbor holiday special!
Laurie Gilmore does such a great job combining cute, spicy, and small town. Will read every one in this series!
4.5/5
This was such a cute and had all the classic hallmark Christmas movie vibes you could wish for! The grumpy sunshine trope is always a hit with me especially when the FMC is the grumpy one.
I definitely think this is my favorite book out of the series so far because of how cute and cozy it was!
Kira views herself in a negative light thinking of herself as selfish and not a fan of Christmas when really she is the sweetest and most selfless person.
Bennett is a sweetheart that just wants to help anyone and everyone he can and will do anything to make sure Kira is happy.
I love the little world that’s been created in Dream Harbor it feels so cozy and tight knit and you can really connect with each of the characters. I feel like as the series has gone on the books just keep getting better.
Definitely recommend for all the Christmas lovers.
This book was so cute and cozy with great winter/Christmas ambience! I really enjoyed seeing how Kira and Bennett's relationship bloomed (reluctantly) and the conflict in this book felt very natural to me. I am excited to read the other books in this interconnected series!
Ok full transparency- I did not read the first two books in this ~Dream Harbor~ series (Pumpkin Spice Cafe & Cinnamon Bun Bookstore.) Everyone is in their fall feels so the wait on Libby is out the door. BUT @netgalley so graciously gifted me with this early copy of the third book, The Christmas Tree Farm, and I just couldn’t wait any longer to read it! Definitely catch me going back to the first two books though, because this series is cute!
So imagine this. Your stereotypical hallmark Christmas movie, but with way more spice. If you’re a Bk Borison fan, it gives Lovelight Farms vibes. There’s a small town setting, a perfect meet cute, and a house with no heat so body heat and a wood burning fire are of course essential. It’s giving cozy, cheesy Christmas energy and I’m here for it!
Kira bought the local Christmas Tree farm and is in over her head. She’s become known as the town grouch, and Bennet confirms that the first time he meets her when he’s walking his dogs on her property. She’s trying to be independent and get the farm up and running on her own, while he has the Mr. Fix it mentality. She’s resistant at the start, but Kira warms up to Bennet (figuratively & literally) and she wonders why she was denied his help for so long.

This is so stinking cute!
Kira and Bennett had great chemistry. They give the black cat x golden retriever energy. I thought their dynamic was super cute and entertaining. I also enjoyed that this was a slow burn romance. It was nice to see Kira and Bennett connect on a deeper level before anything sexual happened.
I love the small town of Dream Harbor. It captures what we all hope a small town feels like. That Hallmark movie magic if you will. It just provides that heartwarming feeling you crave in a holiday read.
Loved this one!
Big town man visits a small town and falls in love with the owner of a Christmas Tree Farm - sounds pretty Hallmark to me! But this story adds a bit of spice and I loved every second of it!
This book is like a spiced hot cocoa, warm and cozy with a little kick to it.
If you don't want some spice in your cute small town romance, this book isn't for you. There are plenty of "clean" romances out there especially small town ones, but this isn't that and I personally had no problem with that (especially because they tell you ahead of time so there's no surprise there).
I also think the author does a good job of weaving it in, the characters are clearly not celibate and occasionally think about sex leading you to figure that they're no strangers to it and it could happen naturally in the story. The early mentionings of sex are not heavy handed either, they just simply exist in a perfectly normal way.
Moving on from the spice--
I've read all the previous books in this series and I would recommend reading them in order for the full effect (otherwise you'll read book 2 after book 3 and find yourself getting introduced to the new woman who bought the Christmas Tree Farm). While not a horrible decision, Dream Harbor is a small town and the series includes all the characters in all the books for the most part so it's best to follow the overall story.
I find Snowed In to be one of the lesser used tropes but it's so effective! It's a great tool to utilize for some forced proximity and I loved the way it unfolds in this story.
I adored Kira and Bennett - they're both fairly new to town but their stories both together and individually along with the progression of Dream Harbor all really worked for me. Kira and Bennett both have a bit of growing to do at the beginning of the story and this book allows them to grow together as much as they grow individually which I really love. I especially liked the ending and look forward to seeing more of them and their farm in the future books!
I am very much invested in all the lives of the Dreamers and will drink up any morsel of Dream Harbor at this point. Keep throwing these books at me I will be reading every single one.
Thank you Netgalley, Harper Collins, and of course Laurie Gilmore for the eARC!
I was so happy to come back to Dream Harbor and get another fix of my favorite adorable town, this time during Christmas. Kira wants to get away from her family and decides buying a Christmas tree farm is the way to go. She envisions herself as a homesteading queen because...social media made it look easy. She realizes she may actually have to sell Christmas trees in order to make ends meet. Bennett is in town for the month visiting his sister and runs into the grumpy Kira when her life is falling apart. However, Bennett has bad luck with women and gets used often. While they may be falling for each other, they may or may not be good for each other. Very cute third story, can't wait to read the next one!
Christmas Tree Farm is described as hallmark but make is smutty, and I don't disagree. It feels like a warm cup of coffee and a fuzzy blanket while reading it.
Thanks to HarperCollins for my NetGalley ARC!
Reformed spoiled rich girl Kira North buys a run down Christmas tree farm in an attempt to make it on her own. The meddling townsfolk (including our fave couples from Dream Harbor books 1 and 2!) send Mr. Fix-it Bennett Ellis (and his adorable dogs) to make sure she's safe, and despite wanting nothing more than a holiday fling, the two find they balance each other perfectly. This cozy spiced-up version of every classic Hallmark Christmas movie is a great holiday romance read!
Definitely not a work of fine literature, but that's not what we read romcoms for! Everything you love about Dream Harbor books is here - town meetings and events, knowing looks and comments from the book club, comfy cuddly vibes, the sweetest MMCs, a little bit of mystery sprinkled in, and just the right amount of spice. This is a perfect potato chip book for the season, romance lovers will eat it up. Bennett is precious and I think a lot of readers will love and relate with Kira's grumpy-but-secretly-soft personality, as well as her working through her loneliness. AND, there's an accompanying playlist and plenty of Taylor Swift references, so you couldn't ask for more.
4 stars. Recommended read, but the writing felt a bit repetitive and juvenile for the first half, which can take me out of the story if the characters feelings/motives/worries come off as overly simplistic, unreasonable, or I get "kuzcos poison, the poison for kuzco" vibes.
It’s good to be back in the cozy town of Dream Harbor!
If you have ever wanted a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form, this book will fill that void.
The Christmas Tree Farm is the story of grumpy farm owner Kira North and Bennett, in town to visit his sister (Jeanie from The Pumpkin Spice Cafe) for the holidays.
This book obviously has a romantic plot, but also a bit of mystery to uncover when they townspeople are certain that there is treasure…or a dead body hiding somewhere on the tree farm property.
It’s short and sweet and perfect for the holiday season!
This might be my favorite in the series, so far.
"He set himself up on the couch. Laptop, coffee, peacefully snoring dogs: check, check and check." is such a vibe and honestly, relatable since Bennett do remote work and I do it too.
We briefly met Kira, the new owner of the Christmas Tree Farm in book 2 and she was a bit grumpy and aloof. Bennett's the FMC's brother in the first book, so we saw glimpses of him. Bennett is in Dream Harbor to visit Jeanie and for a vacation. When the town banded together, Bennett was given a task to visit Kira's farm and look for treasure due to a rumor.
Kira was a grouch and grumpy at first, and that's due to her decision buying the farm, sight unseen and was overwhelmed with how much it actually needed work for her to get by. Bennett got this hyperfixation to fix things.
"He probably needed therapy, but that was an issue for another day". We love a self-aware man.
The book was sweet, and I love all things Christmas-sy. It was such a vibe, especially with holidays coming. Add in dogs in books, love!
I do appreciate how we both saw character development in both characters. Kira realized that she can be friends with Dream Harbor residents and she can ask for help, while Bennett got past his issues. The third-act was really understandable, and I am glad for it to happen.
Overall, I love this series because it felt like a warm hug and it's always good to be back in Dream Harbor. I cannot wait for Iris' story since she's next and she seems fun in this book.
Laurie Gilmore’s *The Christmas Tree Farm* is the perfect festive romcom for fans of the grumpy x sunshine trope, with just the right amount of spice to warm up the holiday season! Kira’s reluctance to embrace Christmas and her chaotic tree farm setup make her the perfect grumpy heroine, while Bennett’s easygoing nature and charming determination balance out their unlikely dynamic. Their banter and chemistry keep the pages turning, especially with the added tension of forced proximity and that classic one-bed situation.
Set in the delightfully quaint town of Dream Harbor, the story brings together small-town charm, sizzling romance, and a dash of mystery, making it an entertaining and cozy read. While the plot has its predictable moments, the heartwarming character growth and undeniable chemistry between Kira and Bennett make it a delightful holiday escape. A definite must-read for fans of holiday romance!
I absolutely love this book it’s very cozy romance. The main character Kira was very flawed but she was able to own her flaws and over come her codependency on her sister is what I believed was holding her back after she got out of that mind she she started to flourish from finding love for Christmas and a special person opens her to be a likable person I loved this series thanks to netgalley I had to pleasure of reading this book early in exchange for a honest review. Out of the three books I would say this is my favorite it was like reading a Hallmark movie.
4.5 stars for this sweet small town romance. This is my first time reading this author and I’m so happy I gave her book a try. I will be going back to read the other two in the series but don’t think it took anything away from this one not having read them yet.
Kira is new to Dream Harbor and Bennett is just there visiting his sister for most of December. Great set up for a Holiday fling right? But can they end it when they agreed to? Or did they already root themselves into each other's hearts ? He is a fixer and she is trying to be independent. What can go wrong? Very enjoyable story. Love the characters. Love the banter between Kira and Bennett. From the fun times to the steamy times, this one checks off so many boxes for me.
I loved this as much as I loved the others, which was A LOT. This was a very cute holiday romance and just really the icing on the cake for this series. I NEED MORE
What a charming, gentle escape during a hectic holiday season. I want to move to Dream Harbor, I could be the librarian character that falls in love with the town Veterinarian!
Thank you Net Galley and Harper 360 for the ARC of the third book in the Dream Harbor Series by Laurie Gilmore. I enjoyed Kira and Bennetts story, and was quite surprised to be introduced to both of them in the book since they were both new to Dream Harbor! This book is a great read for Christmas Time and really got me into that mood even in September! I think one of my favorite aspects of this book is the dogs part in it and their relationship. Be ready for grumpy sunshine, being snowed in, Christmas Trees, new friends, an MMC that is always fixing things, FMC that lets her past get in the way of what she really wants. But you’ll have to read to figure out how they endured up! Overall an enjoyable read.
Laurie dedicated this book to anyone who wanted Hallmark movies to be spicy and I can tell you that is exactly what this book is. So cozy and festive but also very spicy. I loved the found family aspect and the main characters energies. Not a huge spice girly so I did skip over some parts
She has done it again! Gilmore is back with another hit from the cutest small town, Dream Harbor. I've been following the series since its release last year, and was so excited to get my hands on this ARC. While I could see similarities to the characters/plot in previous stories (does any man in this town not have a broken heart and isn't broody because I'm falling in love with all of them), this story has definitely been taken up a notch. When Gilmore said this was a spicy Halmark movie, she wasn't lying! The story had all the charm that the previous books had as well as a new twist: two headstrong characters! I originally thought this would be a slow burn, but this book was a hot fire that had gasoline poured on it from time to time. Can't wait to check out the next book in the series next spring!
Laurie Gilmore has a talent of creating diverse characters with different personalities and life backgrounds and taking them on a journey to discover themself. This book was no different. I loved Mr. Fix It Bennet and Ms. Reformed-Rich-Girl-Rake Kira. The story contained all the Christmas vibes that I love in a Christmas story and added coziness, cute doggos, and some spice (Ch. 18, 21, 22, and 28 for anyone who wants to skip). I enjoyed Kira and Bennet’s journey and their time in their own snow globe of holiday wonder and whimsical cheer. It was the equivalent feeling of the multi-colored lights, obnoxious decorations, and child-like wonder I experienced during Christmases as a kid. I want to skip right to Christmas now!
Cue Taylor Swift's "Christmas Tree Farm."
Hallmark Movie with Spice? ✅ 🌶️ Kira and Bennett were so cute!!! Christmas Tree Farm owner meets hot techy nerd. Sign me up. Her old house seems to always be cold so he’s there to warm her up. I really enjoyed this one! 5/5 ⭐️ thank you Laurie Gilmore, netgalley, and Harper 360 for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Such a cute Christmas read! Loved being able to dive into Dream Harbor and get all the warm and cozy holiday feels. Laurie really knows how to make you connect with the characters and I love the fact that she intertwines the characters from previous books into this one.
Kira was such a breath of fresh air and loved the fact that she was the grumpy Christmas tree farm owner and Bennet was the sunshine. Such a feel good, warm and fuzzy story that is perfect for the holiday season.
I read all three of the books in the Dream Harbor series within about a week. I have really been enjoying them... they are very light, likable, and fun. There is no realism here however they are unapologetically Gilmore Girls-esque!
This third book started slowly for me... I disliked our heroine very much for the first quarter of the book but I absolutely came around to love this book. The cozy Christmas vibes were thoroughly enjoyable. I can't wait for the season, I will probably read this again!
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is a delightful holiday romcom that brings together Kira North and Bennett Ellis in the cozy small town of Dream Harbor. Though Kira initially rejects Ben’s help on her run down tree farm, fate repeatedly brings them together, with sparks flying as their forced proximity turns into undeniable chemistry. The book is full of humor, romance, and a hint of mystery into this heartwarming holiday tale. The small town charm, combined with the sizzling tension between Kira and Ben, makes for an entertaining and spicy read to warm up your holiday season!
This book makes me want to decorate for Christmas. And it’s September. It’s like drinking hot coca on a Saturday morning. It’s everything and then some. So sweet.
The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series. In this story, we meet and get to know Jeanie's (the main female character in the first book, The Pumpkin Spice Cafe) brother Bennett. He has come for a visit from California to spend the Holidays with his sister and her group of friends. Little does he know that an innocent walk with his 3 dogs will lead him to meet the newest, and not very friendly, resident of Dream Harbor, Kira.
Sparks fly, and not of the happy kind...at least not in the beginning. There is supposedly a buried treasure, or buried body, located somewhere on the Tree Farm, now owed by Kira, and Bennett has been volunteered to scope the place out.
Though Kira appears to be standoffish in the beginning, there is a reason for her feeling this way. As time goes by, she begins to thaw and warm up to an amazing group of new friends, and against her well, the fire blazes with a certain hot and sexy man.
I have loved every one of these books in the series and this one is no exception. It feels like visiting old friends and getting to know new ones. The characters are incredible, there is laughter, kindness, drama and some steamy heat all rolled into this excellent story. A great way to warm up the Holiday Season, or delve into any time of the year!
Peaches 🍑 🥹
I’m a sucker for a cutesy ass name from a hot guy😍
I loved this one. I loved that It was two new characters from out of town we’ve only met in passing.
Ben is a nice guy with a dirty ass mouth behind closed doors🫣🤤 what more could you want?
This book was giving me all the cozy Christmas hallmark movie vibes but still smutty. Perfect little Holliday read!
Fresh off the high of Cinnamon Bun Bookstore, I was thrilled to receive a copy of Christmas Tree Farm from Netgalley. It was honesty exactly what I needed. This book was like a cheesy Hallmark movie but in the very best way. I adored golden retriever Ben and black cat Kira. Ben was so perfect and and his unwavering desire to help Kira, who was fully against it from the get go. Which just proves that if he wanted to.. HE WOULD.. Ben is full of green flags from his three dogs to his obsession with YouTube tutorials. But Kira.. sweet Kira.. she was traumatized from her childhood and the separation from her sister which made her believe she had to handle everything on her own... I loved seeing her growth and her realization that it’s OK TO ASK FOR HELP! Asking for help does not make you weak or needy! This is a lesson that I’m still trying to learn.. I wish we could have seen Chloe and Kira’s reunion at the farm but I’m hoping this just means they will pop up in a future book! I love this world that Laurie has built and I never want these books to end! In fact, I’m trying to see how I can make my way to Dream Harbor! Christmas Tree Farm is the ideal cozy read to kick off your Christmas season.
Such a cute book it was so cozy and I love the characters I’m enjoying this series and hope it continues
This book features Kira, a formerly wealthy woman looking for a new start. That new start happens to become using her inheritance to buy a Christmas tree farm. Insert Bennett, the brother of a local, who is taking a month long vacation. Kira gives off all the grumpy vibes, but Bennett finds himself doing everything he can to help her get the farm and her new home up and running. This book gives you all the warm and cozy Christmas feels along with several laugh out loud moments. There is definitely a lot of spice between the two and some mystery thrown in to make things even more interesting. Definitely an overall great read! A special thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I freaking LOVED this book. This book was just as good as the last one. The storyline was not just romance/smut, but was plot-driven and I really appreciated that. The addition of a playlist really helped me get into the vibes of the book and I loved reading it.
This was really cute. I didn’t think I’d be in the mood for a Christmas book in the middle of October, but this got me hearing Mariah Carey 🤣
My family would always cut down our Christmas trees at a Christmas tree farm, so this brought back some memories.
Bennett was a told golden retriever. He was so sweet. Kira came off black cat energy, but deep down she was a softy.
This book is cute for those who loved the previous 2 books and love all things Christmas. I also enjoyed the scene during the secret Santa exchange. Love seeing all the previous characters. I already know the main characters for the next book, but I’m BEGGING for an Annie and Mac book.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC, I squealed when I opened my email.
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is the third book in the Dream Harbor series. The story follows Kira North, the new owner of the old Dream Harbor Christmas tree farm. This was a very quick read for me and I absolutely adored it.
This is my favorite book in the series so far.
Overall, it was the perfect book for a cozy season!
Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Welcome back to Dream Harbor!
I thought Logan and Jeanie were my favorite Dream Harbor couple, but I think Bennett and Kira are my new favorites!
On a whim, Kira decides to purchase an abandoned Christmas tree farm and move to Dream Harbor for a fresh start. Bennett is in town for the holidays visiting his sister when he runs into Kira while walking his dogs on her property, which he thought was still vacant. While the two have a bumpy first meeting, Bennett is a fixer and offers his help to Kira. The more they hangout, the more they enjoy each other’s company and eventually can’t resist the chemistry.
I loved the banter between Kira and Bennett! And the small town hallmark movie vibe. I enjoyed the grumpy/sunshine trope, Kira being the grumpy one and Bennett the sunshine-y cinnamon roll. Usually the grumpy/sunshine tropes I read, it’s the opposite.
The third book in the Dream Harbor series is interconnected and can be read as a standalone but I definitely recommend reading in order to get a better background of the other couples and characters.
I can’t wait for more Dream Harbor books!
It is very difficult not to like any of Gilmore’s books especially this one that revolves around Christmas, the happiest of holidays. Everything about the book is lighthearted and entertaining. There is some mild steaminess in the book. Overall, this is a good book to read as the holidays are approaching!
Gilmore’s use of the small town setting allows her to connect this book with the ones before it. Thus, there are characters that are already familiar to any reader having read the previous books. Even so, this book can be read on its own.
A few other things: Grumpy Kira is not a nice Kira. Kira does not like Christmas?!?!? How is this possible when she owns a Christmas Tree Farm! And Bennet - his love language is helping people he cares about (swooning here!); the littlest things he does made me smile.
Obviously there is snow; there is SOOOOOOO much snow however there are advantages to a snowstorm & a snowball fight with a hot guy. And the ending is so romantic - just be ready. I can say no more.
If you are ready for the holiday magic to begin then start by reading this book.
EXCELLENT during times of stress, love the happy, simple-life vibe. It helped me during a dark time to remember how simple joy feels again.
Holy cow this book was AMAZING! I’m gonna have to say the best one yet! 😭 I gotta take my time on this review so stay tuned. This book deserves time and love in the review. ❤️
Ok. This book. Was amazing. Kira and Bennett were way too cute together. Their attraction started next to immediately. Kira is the tough one and Bennett…I loovveedddd Bennett. He is literally a golden retriever MMC and just loves helping people. He fights his Mr. Fix-It urges because it’s only caused him to be taken advantage of in his past dating experiences but when it comes to Kira, he literally can’t help himself.
Once they finally stopped fighting their attraction for each other, their relationship immediately glows all over the pages. Not only is Bennett helping Kira fix up the old house on the tree farm she invested in, but they begin going through some of the things that the previous owner left behind. There’s a rumor throughout the town about a possible discovery somewhere on the farm and everyone puts Bennett up to the task of digging around.
But, y’all. My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PART in this book…are the letters. I’m not spoiling it so when you get there, you will know. And you’ll know which part almost made me cry while I was out eating lunch and watching a game with hubby. Please visit me on my insta when you read this so I can hear your thoughts too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and opinions expressed in the review are completely my own. Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins Publisher for this opportunity!
What fun sweet book. Now I have not read the prior books, time crunch honestly. I do believe the other books tie in, the brother of Pumpkin spice café owner is the MMC in this book but overall it could be stand-alone! I was not expecting the dynamic between the characters but this book gave me Hallmark and Gilmore Girls combo with extra spice and I loved it!!!
Bennett is in town to visit his sister Jeanie (owner of the Pumpkin Spice Cafe) and has somehow been appointed by the town to check in on the grumpy Christmas tree farm owner Kira. She had dreams of owning a farm and homesteading, so she bought a farm sight unseen without realizing it was the town’s beloved Christmas tree farm. She’s been a hermit for the past few months trying to prove that she can be independent and she doesn’t need anyone’s help. Until she runs out of money and needs to re-open the farm for tree buyers. Bennett is the ever-helpful rescuing type of guy who relies on his helpfulness to be wanted by his dates. He’s trying both the help and resist helping Kira, and she is definitely resisting any assistance. It’s a lot of push and pull, but they ultimately get stuck together in a snowstorm and a temporary fling develops. It was fun to revisit this quirky little town and to see Bennett and Kira integrate into a bigger friend group.
I would like to thank NetGalley for this ARC. I definitely think this book is the best one in the series so far! I can't wait to see what else this author will bring to this series!
For someone who is obsessed with Christmas let me tell you that this should be added to your holiday tbr. This gives off those hallmark small town Christmas vibes. I felt like I was watching a movie right on the pages. The town is so cute and I loved everything about the Christmas tree farm. This was a quick and fun read about a girl named Kira, who moved away from her life to start over. Thinking she just bought a house with a plot of land she quickly finds out that it is actually a Christmas tree farm and she has to get to work. Then we have Bennett, who is in town visiting his sister. He quickly takes a liking towards Kira and will do anything to keep seeing her.

This book is such a cute fun Christmas read! Definitely perfect for the upcoming seasons! I can’t wait to dive back into this story closer to Christmas!
I loved this book! I have read every book by Laurie Gilmore and let me just say they keep getting better and better! This was my favorite of the series so far! It is such a cozy romance and perfect for a Christmas read!
Many thanks to HarperCollins Publishers for providing an advanced reader copy via NetGalley in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
Just in time for the holiday season, The Christmas Tree Farm brings all the cozy, warm vibes. In this grumpy + sunshine, found family delight we follow Kira who blew her entire trust fund on a Christmas Tree farm. Her idea of a “fresh start” turns nightmare quick with one disaster after another. But just as she’s running out of hope, she meets Bennett who’s in town for the holidays. Ben enjoys being useful and quickly gets to helping Kira, however, he may or may not have been put up by the townsfolk to hunt for a hidden treasure or DEAD BODY (gasp!) on Kira’s farm.
Imagine your favorite Hallmark movie with just a touch of spice! Grab a warm beverage and cozy blanket and cuddle up for this cozy, romantic delight!
A perfect Christmas season romance. This was such a cute story. I love a Christmas tree farm and Dream Harbor is already so cute and Idealic that adding one to the mix is giving me major fomo. I need to live in this small town. Kira is new to Dream Harbor and though it takes her awhile to fit in, she’s a great addition to the growing list of characters. Then there’s Jeanie’s brother, Bennett, visiting from California with his 3 adorable pups. After a not great first impression Bennett and Kira eventually become friends he helps her start to fit in. But what happens when Kira starts to have feelings for this man she knows is only visiting for the holidays? *cue suspenseful music* You’ll have to read to find out.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360 for the advance copy.
This was everything I never knew I needed from the Dream Harbor series. Now I’m biased because Christmas is my favorite holiday, but this book was just a spicer version of a Hallmark movie.
I got to see some of my favorite DH characters and live out a dreamy love story on a Christmas tree farm (cue Taylor’s song). Kira and Bennett were so fun to get to know and I cannot wait for everyone to meet them when this book is released later this month!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC! This series continues to be so fun and cute. It is like reading a Hallmark movie. Dream Harbor is a perfect place to escape to in your reading. The characters are a delight to read about. I loved that she was the grump operating a run down Christmas Tree farm. A perfect holiday read!
Kira is a Christmas hate who wound up owning a Christmas tree farm thinking she would become an influencer who makes her own sourdough & pickles a ton of vegetables grown on her farm. Bennett is taking a break from his cushy Silicon Valley lifestyle and is trying to take a break from a string of bad dates. Kira has had people help her throughout her life and is finally trying to start the farm on her own while Ben is a fixer who loves to help. The townsfolk in Dream Harbor have a plan that might just have these two falling in love.
This book is the perfect spicy hallmark book that makes you want to sip spiked eggnog. It has grump sunshine, one bed, and a love for dogs (which hits me near & dear to my heart).
Laurie Gilmore doesn't disappoint again! This book was quintessential Christmas x hallmark x filthy
And dogs! So many dogs!
Thank you NetGalley for the read

A huge thank you to One More Chapter, HarperCollins, Netgalley, and Laurie Gilmore for access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was yet another INCREDIBLE book by Laurie Gilmore! If you ever wished to read a book that has Hallmark vibes but with some spice, then Laurie Gilmore’s newest book is the perfect choice.
Kira and Bennett are such a cute couple! I love the grumpy x sunshine trope (especially when the FMC is the grumpy one) and Laurie really nailed it in The Christmas Tree Farm. Seeing how the MCs learn what they want, grow, and become the best version of themselves was so wonderful.
Since I LOVED the first two books in the series, I was thrilled to see that the characters from the other books make an appearance! The world that Laurie Gilmore has made in Dream Harbor feels so cozy and the character building is just perfect! This series just keeps getting better. HIGHLY recommend adding this one to your holiday TBR!
The Christmas Tree Farm is book three in the phenomenal Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore.
Honestly I was too hyped about this book and didn’t think I would be approved! So to utter delight I was and I can’t thank this publisher enough!
This series has been seriously some of the absolute best books I’ve read in a long time!
A charming holiday romcom packed with cozy small-town vibes, witty banter, grumpy x sunshine tension, and some added spice.
I flew through this book, not wanting to put it down and needing to absorb every bit of this perfectly written story.
Kira and Bennett were absolutely amazing! I devoured their journey and gobbled them up!
I just adored how well fleshed out Kira and Bennett were. Their characters and how well developed they were really made their romance for me.
I can’t wait for book four The Strawberry Patch Pancake House and five The Gingerbread Bakery!
Thank You NetGalley and Harper 360 for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
I received a copy of this for my honest review
In book 3 of the Dream Harbor series, our MMC is the brother of the cafe owner in book 1. He's staying in town for a few weeks to just get away from his life and spend time with his sister. Our FMC left her phone in Georgia to buy the Christmas Tree Farm. She did this after her ride or die, her twin sister, had the audacity to fall in love, get married and move to Denmark. She is trying to prove she can do this on her own, she has had everything in life handed to her, she wants to earn this. But this farm is more than she bargained for. He has always wanted to fix things for people, and a run down farm owned by a beautiful woman is like kryptonite. But they both worry that they will fall into old patterns and not be able to move on and truly fulfill their needs.
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is a charming holiday romcom packed with cozy small-town vibes, grumpy x sunshine tension, and a sprinkle of spice! Kira and Bennett’s dynamic is filled with chemistry, witty banter, and the classic forced proximity that romance readers adore. Watching these two opposites navigate a Christmas tree farm and their growing feelings makes for an irresistible holiday read. Add in adorable dogs, festive cheer, and a heartwarming HEA, and you've got the perfect recipe for a holiday escape. If you’re a fan of grumpy heroes and swoon-worthy Christmas settings, this book is for you!
Fans of The Pumpkin Spice Cafe are welcomed back to Dream Harbor. Bennet is in town to get away from his busy big city life and to visit with his sister Jeanie. An accidental run in with Kira, the new owner of the Christmas Tree Farm sets in to motion an attraction they both try hard to fight. This small town romance is a mix of cozy and spicy while also giving all the holiday vibes!
Thank you @netgally and @lauriegilmore for the opportunity to read and enjoy this ARC!
I apologize but I'm unable to review this book. I don't like reading books with sexual content, and I wasn't aware there was any.
Ok this was SUCH a cute story. This is the third installment of The Dream Harbor Series by Laurie Gilmore. I think I connected most with Bennet and Kira, the two kind of outcasts in some sense, and reformed in their ways. Kira coming from money, and Benner from just needing to be needed. I truly loved this with the Christmas vibes. I think between this book and book 2, they are competing for the best of the series! My rank so far is 2,3,1 I think. You can tell Laurie is upping her writing game with each story. These characters felt more well developed. The spice was spicing as well! This Christmas book is Chefs Kiss! Add it to your TBR now!
I LOVED this one!! This is the third book in the Dream Harbor series! It is written so you can read them as stand alone books but I recommend reading them in order as you get so much background info on each couple and its so fun to see them pop back up in the other books!!
Kira and Bennett are the main characters in this book. Kira who just bought a Christmas tree farm (even though she hates Christmas) and Bennett who is in dream harbor on vacation while escaping a bad dating life back in California. This book was funny, full of banter and love. it is a guaranteed HEA which I love.
Tropes:
- Grumpy x sunshine
- one bed
- small town
- forced proximity
A totally unrealistic but totally fun festive lovefest. The Dream Harbor series has quickly become a fun fluffy guilty pleasure and I’m not mad about it. I’ll read as many as Laurie Gilmore wants to write. Love the focus on seasonal vibes and characters who love to read (they’re just like us!), with character growth (Kira’s and Ben’s grumpy/sunshine personalities and Mr fix-it/no-I’m-Miss-Independent issues fit together so nicely!). The mysteries are completely Hallmark cheesy and unnecessary, but the point is the love story, so I don’t even care.
Thank you to One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this ARC!

This is the third book in the Dream Harbor series featuring Kira North and Bennett Ellis with some familiar appearances.
Kira North is the grumpy sunshine who decided she needed a fresh new start after her twin sister got married. After some influencing from her doom scrolling, she bought a farm. And not just any farm, A Christmas Tree Farm. Kira North hates Christmas.
Bennett Ellis is a software engineer from California visiting his sister Jeanie, owner of the Pumpkin Spice Cafe, for the holidays. In tow with him are his three cuter than ever pups.
The story between Ben and Kira is super cute! This small town romance between the pair delivers the perfect amount of playfulness, tease and spice. I absolutely gobble the One Bed trope!
Everyone should definitely add this to their winter holidays TBR!
This was such a fun read. Kira and Bennett were so cute together. I loved the drama and spice! It's a great holiday read and I can’t wait to read the next one in this series!
Another exceptional story inside Dream Harbor! This Christmas story was super cute and I loved the reverse grumpy/sunshine trope. The FMC Kira was so much fun and I loved everything about her. The connection between Kira and the MMC Bennett was adorable. I enjoyed all the Christmas vibes from the Christmas tree farm to the holiday festival and the snowed-in scene. A perfect cozy Christmas rom-com!
My Thoughts💭
If you know me well I’m a sucker for hallmark movies during Christmas and this was exactly it! It’s cute, heartwarming and of course spicy 🔥 Absolutely loved this book. I loved that this story the FMC was the grumpy one about Christmas! I swear each book comes out gets better and better! The character development was perfect. The forced proximity between Kira and Bennett is executed perfectly, leading to some great spicy scenes in this series. Thankyou to @harpercollins360 for this arc!

Then this is the book for you!
I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. But throw in a grumpy FMC, cinnamon roll MMC, and some rescue dogs during Christmas time - and you’ve sold me on a great ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ novel.
This book had a bit of mystery, some struggles, finding oneself, and of course love. Kira and Bennet’s meet cute was top notch. The town get togethers are very reminiscent of Stars Hallow. Connecting with the rest of the town and the other books was a cherry on top.
This is a must read this Christmas season!
Kira North! Talk about grumpy. I thought when Kira made her debut in The Pumpkin Spice Cafe I was going to dislike her in The Christmas Tree Farm. Who hates Christmas, right!? 🤣 I thought wrong? I absolutely loved her grumpy character. I have to say, so far so good, in Laurie Gilmore’s Dream Harbor series. Can’t wait to read the next one! 🍓
Kira and Bennett are the perfect duo in this next installment of this small town series. I loved the way Ben was a fixer and Kira was determined to make it on her own. The doggies were adorable. The friendships blossomed, the mystery was delightful. I enjoy seeing past characters it really rounds out the series. Might be my favorite yet!
Better and better.... this series is addictive! Halfway through this book I was considering skipping Halloween & Thanksgiving and putting up my Christmas tree three months early. I was also googling local tree farms, making cocoa and considering a real tree for the first time. It got me in the Christmas SPIRIT - Lord Hallelujah! And the love story was "Snowed-In-Together-In-Front-Of-A-Fire- CRACKLIN'-HOT!
Jeanie's brother Bennett (in town for a holiday visit) and the new owner of the local Christmas tree farm, Kira, have a grumpy-sunshine co-dependent fling going on. She's trying to be an independent bawse lady and he's trying not to be a doormat. There are dogs, the sweetest romantic gestures, all the zany town characters you love, a check-up on Jeanie & Logan and Noah & Hazel and so much cozy-ness I didn't leave my couch all day. It's the perfect read for your spicy holiday TBR. Gilmore continues to tease the enemies-to-lovers romance of Mac & Annie (which I hope is coming SOON)!
Once you pick this book up, you won’t want to put it down. This is such a cute read for Christmas. Has all the feels of a cozy Hallmark movie. If you love Christmas, dogs, grumpy sunshine, and Mr. Fix it vibes then this is the book for you! It’s the perfect small town love story.
This book follows Kira, the grumpy new Christmas tree farm owner and Mr. Fix it, Bennett. Kira doesn’t plan on reopening the Christmas tree farm, but when funds run low and she has no heat, she has no other choice. Bennett starts coming by the farm more often at the behest of the town because they think a dead body or treasure is buried at the farm. Bennett can’t help but want to help Kira and fix all her problems. She is very closed off to this idea at first because she wants to prove she can do it on her own. The longer the spend together, the more they’re both willing to work together and start to fall each other along the way. The perfect mix of romance, spice, and a bit of a mystery thrown in as well.
I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars. I just love the cozy feeling all of Laurie Gilmore’s books have. They’re quickly, fun reads. I will always recommend them to everyone.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.
5/5 - Kira North uproots her life and purchases a Christmas tree farm in Dream Harbor, in search for a new beginning. She’s a bit of a recluse and is not very fond of Christmas but is in dire need of customers in order to bring in income. The living conditions on the farm are insufficient and being able to survive through the cold winter might not be possible. Along comes Bennet who gradually eases his way into her life. But Kira is stubborn and refuses any help. Does Bennet have the heart and patience for Kira? After all, he’s only in Dream Harbor for a few weeks and will be returning to San Francisco after New Year.
This is my favorite story thus far from the Dream Harbor series! This small town romance had such a beautiful holiday vibe. I love how the author gave us a grumpy FMC instead of the typical male. I found Kira to be very relatable. I’m sure we’ve come across a point in our lives where we’ve felt defeated, but manage to overcome obstacles on our own. This story includes grumpy/sunshine, small town, forced proximity, and one bed.
I highly recommend this book, especially for the holidays! It was a quick read that was very enjoyable!
As always the vibes are there! The Christmas feels are perfect and I love a grump sunshine romance! It’s like the most adorable hallmark movie in book form! I loved it!
It was a great book! A good installment in the series. I loved the character development. I’m not usually someone who reads in third person, but I quite enjoyed this.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
🌶🌶
Okay, this was the story I didn’t know I needed. I have to admit, I was a bit sad that Mac and Annie’s story wasn’t going to be next, but now I’m thankful because Bennet and Kira were absolutely wonderful to follow.
Bennet is used to people taking advantage of him, and he’s trying to change that and not let anyone take advantage of him anymore. Meanwhile, Kira is trying to be independent for the first time in her life. There were moments when their goals clashed, but as they got closer and started communicating, they were able to understand each other.
And the chemistry between them? Chef's kiss!
These two had me smiling the whole time, seriously!
Thank you so much, Harper 360 and NetGalley, for sending me this ARC!
This is the third book in the cozy/kinda spicy Dream Harbor series. In this book, we meet Kira who is a grumpy heiress who has just bought the town's Christmas tree farm, and Bennett, a sunshine-y guy who is visiting his sister Jeanie (who owns the Pumpkin Spice Cafe, which is the first in the series!). He is trying to enjoy a little vacation away from California & his job as well as getting away from a toxic relationship/sistuationship.
I love how Kira is the grumpy one and Bennett is the golden retriever/sunshine-y one, because normally it’s the opposite.
Kira is initially really rude and standoffish to the people in Dream Harbor. But whenever Jeanie convinces Bennett to try and get Kira to open up as well as attend the towns annual Christmas tree lighting event, things slowly start to turn around.
Kira and Bennett agree to only let whatever’s going on between them be a “holiday fling” & nothing more. However, as time goes on, they both realize they’re falling in love with one another but neither one wants to admit it…
I actually loved this one so much more than the first one in the series. I don’t know if it’s because it was giving me all the Christmas vibes or what, but I just wanted to jump into the pages of this book! I can’t wait for her next one 😊😍😍
Thank you to NetGalley, Laurie Gilmore, and Harper 360 for a copy of this eARC! It was wonderful & I look forward to reading more by her.
I haven’t read any of the previous book, but I was in the mood for a holiday romance and this absolutely delivered. I enjoyed the balance between plot and romance. The writing is good and I’ll absolutely be reading the rest of the series.
It was a great book! A good installment in the series. I loved the character development. I’m not usually someone who reads in third person, but I quite enjoyed this.
I absolutely adore these books! I think The Christmas Tree Farm may be my favorite in the Dream Harbor series so far. We follow Kira, a previously spoiled rich kids trying to venture out on her own for the first time by buying a farm, and Jeanie's brother! This installment really focused on what we own others and giving of ourselves. Not to mention, the ending will have you in TEARS. It's an absolutely beautiful love story!
Thank you so much to Harper 360 and NetGalley for granting me access to an ARC of The Christmas Tree Farm! It was such a delight!
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is a heartwarming holiday romance that captures the spirit of the season. The story follows Kira North, a woman who ironically despises Christmas yet finds herself the new owner of a Christmas tree farm in a town that's almost too quaint to be real. Struggling with a rundown property that's anything but the idyllic scene often portrayed on social media, Kira is determined to go it alone, despite the farm being borderline dangerous and lacking basic amenities like heating.
Enter Bennett Ellis, a man escaping his hectic life in California and a string of disastrous dates. On vacation in Dream Harbor, he crosses paths with Kira in her fields. Initially, Ben has no intention of helping the grumpy and stubborn farm owner, especially when she seems set on refusing any assistance. However, fate has other plans as their paths continue to intersect. As Kira watches Ben skillfully handle tasks around the farm, she begins to question her reluctance to accept help and the walls she's built around herself.
Gilmore expertly weaves themes of vulnerability, community, and the unexpected joys that can arise during the holiday season. The developing relationship between Kira and Ben is both genuine and engaging, filled with moments of humor and tenderness. The picturesque setting of Dream Harbor adds an extra layer of charm, making the story a perfect escape into a cozy winter wonderland.
The Christmas Tree Farm is a delightful read that reminds us of the magic that can happen when we open our hearts. It's an uplifting tale perfect for anyone looking to embrace the sugar and spice of the holiday season.

". . . Kira was living inside one of the holiday movies she’d once loved to mock. But surprisingly, she didn’t hate it."
A pleasant return to Dream Harbor in the 3rd installment of the series. What's better than the holiday season, the smell of pine, trees covered with snow, family, friends, romance, and sex!?
The will they or won't they (we know they will) pair in this story is Kira and Bennett. They join previous couples, Jeanie & Logan and Hazel & Noah, along with a returning cast of Dream Harbor residents who love their entertaining town meetings and Stars Hollow style community events.
Sign me up for all future books in this series!
"Jeanie and Hazel stared at her, waiting for her to go on, to explain what the hell was going on between her and Ben, but she had nothing more to say about that. How do you tell someone that their brother is a gentleman on the streets and a beast between the sheets? She was pretty confident there was no polite way to do it."

This is is the 3rd book in the dream harbor series. If you're looking for a wholesome Christmas read with a little spice this is it ✨
Kira North is a grumpy girl who hates Christmas and loves animals, she is trying to reinvent herself and decided to buy a farm with her fund money. Her twin has just gotten married and she's feeling alone.
Little did she know she was moving to a Christmas town. She was against reopening this Christmas tree farm she bought but eventually she opens it up to make money.
Bennet Mcafadden is a wholesome guy visiting his sister Jeanie who owns the pumpkin spice cafe as she just got engaged. He meets Kira by accident and for some reason really gravites towards her even though she was a very stubborn girl.
He was supposed to go back home after new years so they weren't supposed to fall in love. Kira and him some very special moments and spicy . His love language is definitely giving acts of service 🤭, I loved everything about this man.
P.s. he cut her a tree 🎄🥹

If you’re looking for a cozy, spicy holiday read, look no further than The Christmas Tree Farm! Laurie Gilmore has delivered a delightful grumpy x sunshine romcom that perfectly captures the charm of the season while wrapping it in a heartwarming romance.
Meet Kira, our grumpy heroine who just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s practically bursting with holiday cheer. Her disdain for Christmas makes for some hilarious moments as she navigates the challenges of her new venture. Enter Bennett, the sunshiney guy on vacation from California, trying to escape his own romantic misadventures. Their first encounter in the tree fields is just the start of a charming, tension-filled relationship that kept me turning the pages.
The forced proximity trope is in full effect here, and it’s done so well! Kira’s initial reluctance to accept Ben’s help adds an entertaining layer to their interactions. Watching her slowly thaw as she begins to appreciate his strengths and support was a joy. Their banter is witty and full of sparks, making every moment they share feel electric.
Gilmore’s writing is engaging and filled with vivid imagery that transports you right to Dream Harbor. You can almost smell the pine trees and feel the chill in the air! The setting is beautifully described, making it the perfect backdrop for a holiday romance.
And let’s talk about the spice! The chemistry between Kira and Bennett is palpable, and their intimate moments are well-balanced with the story's heart. Plus, the added mystery element keeps you guessing and adds another layer of intrigue.
This book is a perfect blend of humor, warmth, and festive spirit. If you love small-town romances with a touch of spice and a guaranteed happy ending, The Christmas Tree Farm is a must-read this holiday season. Laurie Gilmore has truly outdone herself, and I can’t wait to see what she brings us next!
The Christmas Tree Farm, by Laurie Gilmore, is one of her Dream Harbor novels. This Christmasy, small-town, romance is perfect for a cozy afternoon read. While it is the third book set in Dream Harbor, they each stand alone so you can easily start with this one (but you will probably want to read them all at some point). Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.
Another fun addition to this series! I’m not typically a fan of cozy romance books. These are definitely the exception- they’re so fun. I love the small town setting and the seasonal theming of the books. I cannot wait to read more from this series!
Who’s ready for a spicy Christmas?! Woooo boy, the naughty and nice list has a lot of crossover in this super fun holiday romcom. The third book in the Dream Harbor series and honestly, this series is just giving life. It has all the charm and quirky characters of The Gilmore Girls with enough pumpkin spice to make even Lorelei blush. I am such a fan of Dream Harbor and The Christmas Tree Farm is an awesome addition. Kira and Bennett are grumpy/sunshine to the max and the setting of a Christmas tree farm and old farm house is holiday perfection. Plus, there are dogs. So many dogs 😍 Books are just better with dogs, it’s a scientific fact.
I was so happy I was chosen to read this arc copy of The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore. It’s the third in the Dreamland Harbor Series! This book is perfect to get you ready for a festive cold winter season. This book was a delight to read. Kira owns a Christmas tree farm and is the fmc who is not a fan of Christmas but Bennet coming around might be the guy to warm her heart. This book has it all…..festive vibes…..cozy…a lil spice…they love dogs!! Definitely worth it to cuddle up and give it a read!
Easy holiday read. This is the third book in the Dream Harbor series, and I thought it was okay. I enjoyed the second book in the series (The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore) more though. I plan on reading the first book (Pumpkin Spice Cafe) soon and hopefully it'll be on par with the 2nd book.
I will keep an eye out and read the 4th book as these are cozy reads and a relaxing way to pass the time.
I enjoyed reading The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is the third book in the Dream Harbor Series. This is Kira and Bennett‘s story.
Kira has spent her whole life by the side of her twin sister, but when her twin finds the love of her life and moves to Europa, Kira needs to create her own home. She moves across the country and buys a Christmas tree farm at the other end of the country and embraces herself. I liked how Kira pushed her comfort zone and discovered more of herself in this book. I also adored her love of animals.
Bennett needs a little break from his life, and he goes to Dream Harbor to visit his sister. He has a heart of gold and loves fiercely and with his whole being and truly attends to other people. But a lot of people take advantage of him and that was so heartbreaking, and I could totally feel this. Bennett is such a bookboyfriend and he is sweet, charming and has a sexy side to him and that was the perfect combination. I’m beyond in love with him and his dogs.
Kira and Bennett‘s story was just amazing and I loved how Bennett tried helping Kira and how he brought the Christmas spirit to her. I loved their morning walk meetings and the snowstorm scene, and they get so comfortable with each other. They didn’t expect to become more but it was beautiful to follow, and they are such an amazing couple. I also loved how they created their own Christmas traditions and especially the letters were incredible.
The Christmas Tree Farm is a hallmark but make it spicy romance and exactly what I need in a Christmas romance. Completely in love with Kira and Bennett‘s story and I can’t wait to reread this book on Christmas. 5 stars.
(ARC kindly provided in exchange for a review.)
This was my favorite book out of the series. The chemistry between Kira and Bennett was amazing. The mattress on the floor spice was epic!! I cannot wait to keep reading more about Dream Harbor.
I have not read the other books in this series so I am not sure how this one compares. For the most part this was really cute!! It was a hallmark movie in a book.
We have the FMC who is like the grinch. She hates christmas and is a bit rude to the people of the town. She buys a christmas tree farm which I wasn't completely sold on at first. I think I should have read the first two books first just for the most enjoyment. I didn't like some of Kira the FMCs actions. I always struggle to get into books that are holiday centered but take forever to get to the story. Overall, if you are into holiday romance, you will like this.
A good holiday read that reminded me a lot of hallmark movies. They are easy to critique but still enjoyable.
Noved reading Bennet and Kira's story. It's grumpy sunshine and there is good character growth. There is open door scenes but it was tasteful and not overdone. I can't wait to read the next in the series!
Absolutely loved this small town Hallmark vibe Christmas romance. What could be more Holiday than a Christmas Tree Farm? I loved how the devastation of being separated from her twin pushed Kira to do something irrational in purchasing a debilitated tree farm.
Loved the plot twist with the new Christmas tree farm owner being a “Grinch” of sorts. Close proximity bringing in Bennett, how could Kira resist his charm, good looks and 3 adorable dogs!
Made me feel full of Holiday spirit, hope and happiness as these family and friends intertwine in the sweet town of Dream Harbor.
Highly recommend this 5 star read! A perfect storyline to give you all the Holiday feels.
Thank you to @Harper360 @netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. All comments and opinions are my own.
This author has done it again!!!!
This was truly the perfect book to get into the Christmas spirit. I loved the characters and they seemed to have the most character growth in this series do far. They both had issues/baggage that they had to work through and through their time together they realized these loose endings they had to finally let go/move on from. I honestly really appreciated that this book was more in-depth with the characters and not so much about the plot (the plot wasn’t overwhelming the characters like the other books). All books have been amazing but this one was different. It was a nice change of pace since I read all of them back to bad.
And the spice!!!! You’re joking. I was not expecting that level of spice but it was VERY well done. Jaw on the floor.
Eeek this was such a cozy read! If you like a good Christmas hallmark movie, but like a little spice on the side, this is definitely the book for you. Kira is such an amazing character. She knows her flaws and she does whatever she can to start over and she does it and she succeeds. Bennett is such a great cinnamon roll hero. Everything in him instantly wants to help and protect Keira. He sees that she needs to do it on her own to believe in herself and he lets her, but doesn’t let her fall or fail. It’s a great book.
This is the perfect cosy and a bit spicy holiday read! So cute! But also so inspiring and so beautiful!
You can be independent but also share your life with someone else and be surrounded by a wonderful community.
I really loved this and see myself re-reading around Christmastime every year.
THANK YOU Netgalley, Laurie Gilmore and Harper 360 for giving me an ARC of this delightful holiday read.
Rating: 3.5/5
Spice: 2/5
Primary Genre: Holiday Romance
Trigger Warnings: I don’t really think that there are any, if you disagree let me know in the comments.
Favorite Quote:
‘You’re a big dog person, I take it.’
‘They’re better than people in every way.’
His laugh was low and deep and did absolutely nothing for her.
‘I agree.’
Plot 3/5:
Rich Georgia peach named Kira buys northeastern Christmas tree farm, although she is grumpy and hates Christmas. Very sweet guy named Bennett who’s home for the holidays tries to help her fix things that she doesn’t want any help fixing.
Tropes:
• grumpy x sunshine
• small town
• forced proximity
• one bed
The Good:
* I loved the town hall meeting vibe, it was very Gilmore Girls-esque. Honestly, there were a few things that gave off Gilmore Girls vibes and I wasn’t hating it. The book club in particular seemed to give off the townspeople of Stars Hollow vibe. Dream Harbor seems like a very cute little town.
* I love the grumpy/sunshine trope and this book is oozing with it. Kira and Bennett were giving Luke and Lorelai but in reverse. Kira had the grumpy Luke vibes and Bennett had the cheerful Lorelai vibes.
* Once Bennett and Kira get the heat going, the flames are fiery hot. I did not see that coming from this book! She said the book would be spicy in the introduction so I expected open door. While there isn’t a ton of it, it’s quite spicy! At least, more so than I’d expect from a Christmas book.
* I really liked the mystery element tie-in of the previous farm owner’s supposed treasure, there was always something happening in this book.
The Meh:
* I didn’t dislike a ton about this book but one thing that did get on my nerves was the third act break up. Those irritate me to no end.
* I found Kira’s character’s lack of an ability to communicate like an adult to be very frustrating but in retrospect, given how she was raised according to the book, that makes sense.
Bottom Line:
This is a fun, light hearted Christmas/holidays romance book. I found it to be a great mood booster and it got me excited for Christmas, which is crazy because it’s not even Halloween yet. This is sure to grow even the grinchiest heart. The characters and town are unique and quirky, and you’re sure to catch yourself laughing while reading this. Now, can we option this out to Netflix instead of Hallmark for the movie so the spicy scenes stay in?
This definitely gave my grinchy vibes. Kira is a self proclaimed Homesteader of the old Christmas tree farm in Dream Harbor with a chip on her shoulder when it comes to asking for help from anyone. Ben is living in the past when it comes to his relationships but insta falls for Kira. I absolutely adored both Ben and Kira's banter and I loved that Ben didn't let Kira bully him out of her life. I love all of the dream harbor characters and enjoy that they all make appearances and have a special role in Kira and Ben's story. Probably my favorite out of the 3 in the series.
Definitely my favorite book of the three! Gives off all the Christmas Hallmark vibes (with extra spice) ! The chemistry between Bennet(ugh the name) and Kira off the bat was intriguing. I couldn’t get enough of their story. Bennet has my heart; we all need a Bennet in our lives!
I loved this book!!!
This was such a sweet, cozy romance - and you can’t go wrong when it’s set during Christmas!!
Laurie Gilmore does an amazing job making her books have the perfect mix of humor and romance - while still creating characters that have depth and growth!
I absolutely loved The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore so I knew this one would be amazing too!! I definitely recommend this one to fans of cozy Gilmore Girls vibes and romance that will tug at your heartstrings!
Basically feels like a hallmark movie but with more spice!
Thank you NetGalley, and Harper Collins for this ARC! I adored it!
First of all, I am a big fan of this series so when I was approved for the Arc I was psyched! I love Dream Harbor and I could not wait to jump back into that world. That being said it started very slow for me. I did not instantly warm to the main characters enough to root for them as hard as I had for the previous two books in series. Yes Kira is supposed to be closed off but I didn’t see what Bennett saw in her until she started loosening up. Took awhile to get there but the ending was worth it. I loved the parts where the old characters pop in and I adored the ending, it was perfect. Can’t wait for the next book to come out…
♥️ Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this audiobook ARC.
I had just finished reading Pumpkin Spice Café & Cinnamon Bun Bookshop, so when I saw that The Christmas Tree Farm was available for request on NetGalley, I had to click the button. This book did not disappoint! Just like the rest of the series it reads like a spicier version of a Hallmark movie. I enjoyed the book so much that once I finished the ARC, I went and bought the ebook. Also, really like that they included some questions that would be perfect for a book club discussion. I find it so helpful.
One of the things that I’ve been posting about this series ever since I started reading it was that it is just too hot and steamy to be a Hallmark holiday romcom. So, upon opening the book and reading the dedication below, I started cracking up.
”For anyone who ever wished Hallmark Christmas movies were steamier, this one might do the trick”
Laurie Gilmore
This series has definitely been like an R-rated Hallmark holiday romcom marathon, for those of you who appreciate this type of info/trigger warning.
For those readers who read the second installment, we met Kira at the end, when she comes into town to take possession of her property and makes it clear to everyone that she will NOT be selling Christmas trees. On that note, I LOVE KIRA!!! Yes, she is a grumpy sourpuss and is a little brusque at times, and flat out rude other times, but she is also really funny!!! Most of my fave FMC’s are queens of the ”snarky attitude”, at all the right times too. However, what is the best thing about Kira? She’s a big-time dog person and is a completely different person around dogs; dogs bring out the best in her. I’m sure a lot of us dog parents out there can relate to that. All that makes her good people in my book!
The book summary pretty much lays out the whole storyline, so I’m not going to repeat any of that here. What the book summary doesn’t mention is why Kira, a transplant from GA, who has never lived on her own or run a business, bought an abandoned Christmas tree farm, with its run-down and dilapidate house. Kira is grieving the loss of her best friend and sister – who got married and moved to Denmark with her husband! Yes, Kira is a bit immature and self-absorbed, but she comes to her senses pretty quickly and realizes that her inheritance that she used to buy the farm and house is not going to last long if she doesn’t find an income source. So, she quits her whining and wallowing and she does what she needs to do to get the tree farm up and running. None of this is a spoiler since it’s basically how the story started.
Bennett, who is in town visiting his sister, Jeanie (from the first installment), and staying in her apartment, since she moved in with Logan (also from the first installment). Bennett is a “tech bro” from CA who has a terrible record with the women he dates. Bennett is the proverbial “too nice guy” who women always seem to take advantage of. He has vowed that he is going to stop being so nice and letting women walk all over him. However, old habits are hard to break, and Bennett can’t stop himself from being a nice guy and offers to help Kira with stuff around the farm (heating, wifi, etc...). This wouldn’t be a Dream Harbor story without the smoking hot chemistry and inst-love. The rest is your standard holiday romcom stuff.
However, I do want to mention that there is another storyline (sort of) that the tree farm is haunted by the previous occupants, according to the smutty book club members, and that there may be some treasures buried there somewhere. Initially, Jeanie, along with some smutty book club members, convince Bennett to go out to the farm and get to know Kira and check out the place. I swear, that smutty book club and its members are a bunch of scoundrels
The character development of Bennett and Kira was well done, and Iris was a nice addition to the motley cast of characters in Dream Harbor. Would have liked to know more about Iris, but it looks like I have to wait until the next installment (that is already on my to-read list). The pacing is what to be expected for a holiday romcom with the 0-60, insta-love/chemistry. The story was amusing and entertaining and the writing was on par with the rest of the series. I’m looking at an overall rating of 3.8 that I’m going to round up to a 4star review. I want to thank NetGalley and Harper 360 for sending me this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
#NetGalley #Harper360 #TheChristmasTreeFarm
After reading the first two books in the Dream Harbor series I was expecting a cute rom-com that was a quick read and Laurie did not disappoint. This book was basically a Hallmark Christmas Movie in book form.
The reverse grumpy sunshine trope gave serious Grinch vibes in this book. Kira is a bit of a hot mess at the beginning of the book. She impulsively decides to but the Christmas tree farm in order to escape from her past, not truly thinking that she is not in a space to be joyful for Christmas.
Then comes Bennett who thinks the tree farm is still closed and takes his dogs for a walk through the farm. With Bennett’s fix it attitude and the help of all the other characters of Dream Harbor, Kira grows so much as a person in this book.
I loved all the antics of the town and can’t wait to see what else is in store for the Dream Harbor series.
Thank you NetGalley, Harper 360, and Laurie Gilmore for the ARC of this book!

If you’re looking for a cozy hallmark book this is it!! Kira is looking for a new start but got more than she bargained for buying a Christmas Tree Farm without seeing it first. Her twin has moved to Denmark and she is in a Grinch type of mood. Bennett is in town visiting his sister through the holidays and crosses paths with Kira while waking his dog. They’re fighting the draw they have to one another due to their pasts, but the sparks start to fly. This book gave me all the cozy Christmas Movie vibes that I think everyone would love!!
Ahhh! This is my fav book of the series-you would think being the ginormous pumpkin spice lover that I am I would be faithful to that title but this one won me over from the first paragraph and didn’t let go until the very end. It’s basically the Grinch in a Hallmark movie and I am all about it! Grumpy/sunshine is one of my fav tropes and Laurie Gilmore has nailed it with these characters! And the fact that the FMC was the grumpy one was refreshing (because I am the grumpy one in my relationship so I can relate 😂) This is book 3 and while it can be read as a stand-alone, I love that we get to revisit characters from the previous two books and see how life has progressed for them as well.
At this point I just want to go to Dream Harbor and spend some time. Each book has gotten better and better and I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
If you like small town, Hallmark vibes with spice added in, this is one you need to read asap!
Thanks to One More Chapter and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review
this book is the perfect warm cozy holiday hug
if you're looking for an easy seasonal read, this is the one
I think I like this book the most out of the three that have been released. Bennet and Iris were such a good addition to Dream Harbor! Such a fun quick read for the winter season! Will definitely pick up again as a yearly Christmas read!
Happy Pub Day to @lauriegilmore_author and The Christmas Tree Farm! I was so excited to get this ARC off @NetGalley from @harpercollins360 that I might have squealed when that approval email came through!
I have FALLEN for this Dream Harbor series and this was no exception. As sweet and steamy as the first two of this series, this follows Kira North, grumpy Christmas hater and new owner of the Dream Harbor Christmas tree farm (that she bought sight unseen for a fresh start). And our little Stars Halloween-esque town is jonesing for their Christmas trees while Kira struggles to get ahead. When she realizes she needs to re-open the farm to make money, the town delights because now they’ll have the chance to search her farm for the rumored buried treasure… or buried body depending on who in town you’ve heard the story from.
Bennett is on vacation from his bustling life in California when he unwillingly gets recruited to ‘check up on’ Kira, since he’s a ‘neutral party’ in this town’s drama. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I always love when we get a grumpy FMC and a MMC whose whole goal is to break down the walls around her heart.
This reads like a rom com Hallmark-y Christmas story with a little added intrigue and a dash of spice! Pick it up today!
This was such a cute and had all the classic hallmark Christmas movie vibes you could wish for! The grumpy sunshine trope is always a hit with me especially when the FMC is the grumpy one.
I definitely think this is my favorite book out of the series so far because of how cute and cozy it was!
This series keeps getting better and better! I did not think I was in a Christmas mood yet but this book immediately got me there. If you love Hallmark Christmas movies (and sometimes with they were a little spicier) then go head and make yourself a cup of hot chocolate and curl up by the Christmas tree this holiday season with this book!
Super cute holiday book. I love this series.
It’s a very easy read on the brain. I love the enemies to lovers trope. Great character building and I loved it!
Highly recommend.
Let’s dive into Dream Harbor once again with the third installment of the series, The Christmas Tree Farm. If you enjoyed The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore, you’re in for another heartwarming holiday treat with this one.
This time, we follow Kira, our grumpy FMC, who’s just moved to Dream Harbor after buying the old Christmas tree farm. Reviving the farm was never part of her plans, but financial pressures mean she has to get creative. Meanwhile, Bennett, the sunny MMC, is in town visiting his sister (the Pumpkin Spice Cafe owner) for the holidays. Kira’s strong-willed independence clashes with Bennett’s open-hearted generosity, but their chemistry is undeniable.
At the heart of the story is the journey both characters take to grow beyond old patterns: Kira’s quest for self-reliance and Bennett’s aim to balance his kindness without losing himself in another. This cozy read, full of holiday charm, leaves you wondering if their relationship will be a path to healing or a repeat of old mistakes.
Overall, The Christmas Tree Farm is a perfect fireside read. Warm, inviting, and brimming with small-town magic, it’s a solid 4 stars for me. I can’t wait to continue with the following two books planned in this series.
Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for this ARC ebook!
Dream Harbor, book 3. I didn’t read the second yet, but these can be read standalone. Ben comes to visit his sister and meets the newest resident, Kira, who owns the old Christmas tree farm. It’s a cute story and I liked it better than the first!
I loved this book. I was so excited to receive an arc of this because I loved the first two books so much. The pumpkin spice cafe and the cinnamon bun one. This is the third one in the series and it was very cozy and I loved it so much. My first Christmas read of the year and it did not disappoint. Can’t wait for the 4 book to come out next year.
Even though it’s October, I got to read this cute little Christmas book. Kira bought a Christmas tree farm without even realizing it, she it was a regular farm and she hates Christmas. Running out of money she realizes she has to get the Christmas tree running but she has no idea how to do that. In comes Bennett who stumbled across her and he is a fixer and keeps coming into her life to help. Their relationship is so adorable and I love Bennett, he is the sweetest. They both have not the greatest past but they can’t help their attraction. I kinda wish Kira wasn’t so feisty.
I absolutely loved this 3rd book in the Dream Harbor series! The romance was so sweet and spicy, the setting of the Christmas Tree farm was perfect, and returning to the fun characters of Dream Harbor was a delight. Bennett was truly an amazing book boyfriend. And the snowed in scenes will live rent free in my mind for a long time. This is the perfect Christmas spicy romance for this holiday season!
As it gets closer and closer to the holiday season, I've been filling up my TBR with more and more Christmas books. Luckily, that included this ARC from Laurie Gilmore and Harper 360.
This is the third book in a series of interconnected standalones and you do not have to read the other books in this series to read this book, but the other books do give backstories on the relationships of other characters that are in this book. This book was a quick read and did have Hallmark movie vibes. The relationship was just downright cute and Bennett was always trying to do his best to take care of Kira. It's perfect for getting into the holiday spirit so if you're looking for books to add to your holiday TBR, look into adding this one.
The latest in this series is just as cozy and adorable as you could hope for, and with a bit of spice. I like to call these books “Hallmark after dark.” I fall more in love with the town and people of Dream Harbor with each installment and this was no exception. Just in time for the holiday season, grab a hot drink and a blanket and enjoy the grumpy new comer and the visiting nice guy and root for them to get over their nonsense and get together already!
Thank you for the ARC!
I feel like the more books that is added to this series the better and better they are getting! I thought this was such a cute and sweet holiday read!
This is such a warm-hearted, perfect swoon-worthy holiday romance that was such a great read. I adored that Kira, the MFC, was the grumpy one and Bennet, the MMC, was the sunshine. I loved the little town of Dream Harbor and how it was just like a Hallmark setting. I couldn’t get enough of it. The Christmas Tree Farm is the 3rd book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. This is the perfect holiday rom-com style read with some added spice.
The adorable cover caught my eye then the compelling book description caught my interest. This was a fun, snowed in, small town, opposites attract romance. The characters are well written and it was entertaining having the female MC Kira as the grump with the male MC Bennett upbeat and sweet. Also there were dogs, which I especially loved. I enjoyed Bennett's persistance with Kira and her growth through out the story. This is a great holiday season romance with a heartwarming happy-ever-after.
This is my second book by Laurie Gilmore, and I am HOOKED! Reading this book has been as much fun as attending a festive Christmas party. I adored Kira and Bennett. They got off to a bit of a tough start as Kira is kind of a grinch. Lots of great conflict in this story. Bennett is definitely the one to melt Kira’s icy heart or is it his dogs that actually started the thawing. I love Dream Harbor and its cast of colorful characters. I enjoyed a little cameo of a past couple. The writing is top notch. The pacing was on target and the story kept me engaged the entire time. The character growth was as perfect as the spicy scenes. This one is a great read for the holiday season! This author is definitely on my have to read list. Huge thanks to Harper 360 and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this wonderful story!
I love this whole series!!! it gives such comfort, tenderness, season cheer, spicy hallmark moments, and oh so much love!
Kira and Bennet are in different phases of life and yet find themselves bringing her Christmastree Farm back to life. I love their authentic, humbling, exhilarating start to their relationship, and how it grows into something so tender, spicy, and loving. just a perfect holiday book to this already adorable seasonal series!
thank you for the arc!
The perfect cozy read for those who want to be thrown into holiday vibes and cozy worlds! The romance and friends are incredible and I loved this book!
3.5⭐️
Laurie Gilmore always writes fast, sweet holiday stories. I liked Ben and Kira. I like that Kira was the grumpy one in the relationship and needed the time to warm up. I loved this story moves so fast you don't have to be stressed about miscommunications or conflicts. It was just a very enjoyable read.
I just love Laurie's small town romances. They almost remind me of watching Gilmore Girls. They feel nostalgic.
I am truly obsessed with Dream Harbor. The Christmas Tree Farm follows Jeanie's brother who's in town visiting and the new owner of the christmas tree farm in town. I really liked the grumpy sunshine trope reversed, where she is grumpy and he is sunshine.
I eat this whole series up.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper360 for an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
4.5/5 stars
This books was a great addition to this series! I really enjoyed this book. The main characters were very likable and I loved getting to see the other couples in this story. This story was very cute and I liked both the main characters growth. With Bennett's growth and facing his toxic relationship. Kira's growth of realizing that you can be independent and still have friends. I just really liked both of them. I do wish they could have communicated a little more. It would have been so much better. We kept getting both their POV where they were worried about each other and they never told each other. There is a 3rd act breakup and I was not a fan of how it went down but I do think they both needed it for their individual stories/growth. But there was a lot of fun moments and this is definitely a book to read during Christmas season.
I really enjoyed reading Bennett and Kira’s story, and their supporting cast of characters did a great job at keeping things fun and light!
This book had a really great balance between fun, stereotypical holiday romcom tropes and nuanced character backstories. It was refreshing to see a reverse grumpy x sunshine done this way.
Sometimes, the pacing felt like it dragged on a bit in the middle, but with it being a shorter book anyway, that didn’t really hurt the story much.
Overall, this was a solid holiday romcom. .
I’m such a sucker for a holiday romance. Especially a grumpy x cinnamon roll trope. Mentions characters from the pumpkin spice cafe book but not enough that it spoils anything. This was the first in the series I read and now I have to go back and read the others.
A Christmas tree farm, a maybe hidden treasure, and lots of puppies. This was such a heartwarming read and the ambiance was perfect for holiday cheer. A spicy hallmark book. Kira is a holiday grump trying to make it on her own and Bennett’s a cinnamon roll “would do anything for you” guy. Both characters learned to grow from each other and their chemistry was STEAMY! The romance buildup was perfect. And there were no slow parts. Also did I mentions the puppies? I too fall into a puddle of mush at the sight of cute furry animals. A must read this holiday!
4⭐️
The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series that centers around Kira—Dream Harbor’s newest resident, and Bennett—Jeanie’s brother who’s visiting for the month. This is reverse grumpy x sunshine and boy is Kira grumpy. Bennett is just the sweetest guy. All he wants to do is help Kira but she’s reluctant to have someone help her because of her past.
I’m obsessed with Laurie’s writing style. I was giggling and kicking my feet at the banter in this book. Laurie has a way of making her characters lovable even if they are grumpy.
This cute little wholesome hallmark cover looking book gets awful spicy about 60% in so be prepared for a full 360°.
This has been a feel-good series and I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the Dream Harbor books!
Thank you so much to Laurie Gilmore and Harper 360 for the eARC of this book. I absolutely loved these this series!! This is the perfect next addition to the series. I’m looking forward to the next in the series. This book definitely lived up to my expectations. It was a quick read for me and I can’t wait for more!
Another fun and quick read from Laurie! Loved the two characters and the stereotypical grumpy x sunshine trope gender swap we got, I will read anything Laurie puts out!
What an adorable and cozy Christmas read! I really enjoyed the characters in this book and the Christmas Tree farm was the perfect backdrop for a blooming romance! This story was the perfect combo of romance and spice!
I’m not usually into spicy romcoms with the grumpy/sunshine plot, but I really enjoyed this! I loved how in this story, the FMC, was the grumpy and her male love interest was the sunshine. It was refreshing to read the roles reversed. Kira, the FMC, owns a Christmas tree farm and is adjusting, albeit slowly and roughly, to a simpler life. Bennett is the brother of the main character of the first in this series, Pumpkin Spice Cafe, and he’s come to visit his sister. I won’t post spoilers, but this is a good read, especially if you want spice. Boy is it spicy! More than I actually expected (I’m not a big spice fan) but I wasn’t mad about it. If you’re looking for a good, light, funny and steamy read, this is it! I would really like to thank Harper360 and NetGalley for giving me the chance to read this ARC. I appreciate the chance to have read it!
If you're looking for a super cute, hallmark Christmas vibe - Christmas Tree Farm is for you!! Laurie Gilmore's series is such a good one for all seasons if you want a light easy romance read with a little spice. I thought that Bennet and Kira balanced each other so well, and I loved them together and individually. As always, I also loved seeing the whole cast of characters together, and had a great time reading this book! I 100% recommend this whole series :)
This book was so festive and really got me excited for the holiday season. This really gave me hallmark vibes, which I love. It was very light hearted and also included some spice. I would say this is a staple for Christmas time.
I loved The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore so I was so excited to read this! I love this just as much as the other 2. It's the perfect holiday time book. It's tamer than what I usually read but it was a great cleanser Platte for me. I cant wait for Gilmores next one to come out!
A fun, light-hearted holiday romance! Grumpy-sunshine trope set in a small town during the holidays, it doesn’t get much better than that. Bennett is my new favorite MMC 🫶🏼 Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
Hallmark Lovers this is the book for you! This book has all the elements of a perfect small town Christmas story. Kira has just moved to town and purchased the house and the land of a former Christmas tree farm. The townspeople are pressuring her to reopen it for the holiday season against her wishes. The town council nominates Bennett to spy on Kira and her property to see what is actually happening. Bennett is also an outsider he is only in town to visit his sister for the holiday season but was nominated because his three dogs like to explore the land around Kiras property. Kira is an animal lover so Bennett automatically has an advantage. Laurie Gilmore has done a wonderful job of capturing the relationship between Bennett and Kira she has created the best scenes to enjoy the holiday season. A sweet and quick read for Christmas and another great one in Lauries series on the residents of Dream Harbor.
Love my Christmas stories! This is #3 in a series that I have been reading and it is another sweet romance. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
I received an ARC of The Christmas Tree Farm in exchange for an honest review, and I’m so glad I did! This charming holiday romance has everything you could want to get into the festive spirit. The characters are warm and relatable, the setting is picturesque, and the story is full of sweet moments, with just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. If you’re looking for a heartwarming, feel-good read this holiday season, this book is absolutely perfect. It’s the ideal mix of romance, holiday cheer, and a little extra magic to make it an unforgettable read.
This was a JOY!!!
The perfect mood to get you ready for the holiday season. It's got everything you want: Christmas Trees, doggos galore, golden retriever x black cat energy, snowed in, and great spicy moments.
I truly love this small town and the quirky characters that are always in each other's business. I am OBSESSED with Bennett. He was such a fantastic MMC and I really liked his and Kira's dynamic.
I am so invested in this series and I cannot wait to continue this series.
I personally NEED an Annie and Mac book!!!
Overall, the perfect holiday, cozy read.
Thank you Netgalley, Harper Collins, and Laurie Gilmore for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Synopsis
When Kira moves to a small town to try to make it on her own as a homesteader, she unknowingly buys a Christmas tree farm and must make do with what she has despite hating Christmas. Along comes Bennet (aka my new favorite book boyfriend *GEEEEEZZZZZ give me a man who has a dirty mouth and will fix things around my house without asking any day of the week!)
He is on vacation and doesn't plan on being in Dream Harbor long. As an outsider too the town thinks Bennet is the perfect person to warm Kira up to the town and melt the ice so to speak.
Only a snowstorm comes through and they are stuck together in a small cabin in the woods until the roads are cleared. Shenanigans ensue.
Thoughts
I love all of Gilmores work and this one did not disappoint. As a Christmas lover I knew I HAD to get my hands on it ASAP!
If you also love Christmas pick this one up this season you won't regret it!
Thank you Netgalley and Laurie Gilmore for the ARC of this book. Can't wait for the next.
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore was a fun book that put me in the holiday spirit. I enjoyed Ms. Gilmore’s character development and the storyline was very enjoyable and a little steamy, too! This was definitely a feel good book which was perfect for me. Thank you to Ms. Gilmore, NetGalley and Harper Collin’s Publishers for allowing me to review this book.
THE WAY I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SERIES!!!
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore followers the blossoming relationship between Kira, the new Christmas tree farm owner who publicly let it be known that she will not be reopening as the farm the townsfolk have come to know and love, and Bennett, Jeanie’s brother, who came to Dream Harbor for a bit of a… vacation. After meeting, Kira and Bennett can’t seem to find themselves too far from one another, Bennett NEEDING to help and Kira unable to accept the help she so desperately needs.
~~~
I know I said the same thing in my The Pumpkin Spice Cafe review but the way I DEVOURED this book. If I had the time to sit down and read this book in one sitting, I wouldn’t have hesitated.
Kira has honestly become one of my favorite characters, she’s flawed and she’s highly aware of that fact and she does her best to not feed into her need of relying on others to do the job for her. You get to see and watch as she works out the difference between expecting someone to help you versus asking for help when you need it.
Bennett is Mr. Fix-it and I love him so much! But that’s not to say that fixing everyone else’s problems is a good thing and he comes to understand that himself.
The spice in this story was better than the last and I just know that the next book is going to be just as good if not better. Not going to lie though… I thought something more was going on with Jacob and Bennett that was let on in The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore but regardless of that this series has been one of my absolute favorites and I honestly can’t get enough of it. I will be scratching at the bars of my enclosure until I can get the next book… Until then!
Loved it just as much as all the others but this one was actually my favorite! I want more! I loved that this book had a strong female character starting over and an equally strong male character. I love small town romance books.
By Far my favorite of the three books in the series.
Ben was so perfect & Kira the perfect Grinch. This is such a cute cozy holiday mystery with a little spice.
Such a quick and easy read, perfect for the Holidays.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book so much that I bought a physical copy of it so I can read it again. I loved the other two books in the series and I this one was just as wonderful!
Oooooo what a spicy , sweet, warm hug of a book. I've fallen for Laurie Gilmores Dream Harbor series and athe Christmas Tree farm did not disapoint. Oh how I loved Kira and her sassy,snarky, can do it myself , attitude and Bennettas the sweet, kinda spicy cinnamon roll. The tension leading to their first kiss was perfection. If you're looking for a fun, hallmark after dark Christmas book set in the most wacky yet delightful town this is the one for you!
The Christmas Tree Farm is the third book in the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore.
I have not read the other two books, but I have to say I did enjoy this one. I am going to go back and read the first two in the series.
Kira North really hates Christmas so the only thing she can do is buy a Christmas tree farm.
Bennett Ellis is on vacation and has his mind set on getting away from some of the worst dates he has ever been on.
Well let me say you have to read this one because the story will hit every emotion you can have while read a book about Christmas- cute men- female that does things without thinking first and the characters in the town make for a fun good and book you can’t put down.
The cover of the book is great!
Thank you NetGalley, Laurie Gilmore and Harper 360 for the copy of The Christmas Tree Farm.
This is my personal review.
Very cozy romance Christmas book about a lady trying to start a new life and buying an old Christmas farm, that she's not supposed to start up but does, and a guy who is visiting his sister while working remotely from her store and falling for the hostile Christmas Tree Farm owner. It is funny, with love, Christmas vibes and some romance.
This was such a fun and cute Christmas romance with some Christmas magic. :)
This is the 3rd book in this series, I actually read the first one and 3 starred it. I would say this one was much better. There was quite a bit of spice in it too. Gives you all the Christmas feels!
Loved the characters and how their stories developed. Hopefully we will hear more about them in the upcoming series.
For sure makes me want to go back and read 2.
I received an ebook copy from @netgalley and @harpercollins360 for my honest review. I also loved it so much I purchased a physical copy already too. :)
This is the series to read when you just want all the cozy feels and Hallmark movie tropes, and I'm all here for it. I've read all 3 of the books out in a short period of time, and I really wish I could just keep going.
Dream Harbor has become one of my favorite little towns to escape too. I love the cover of this book and have been wondering what was going to happen to the run-down Christmas tree farm and now we have our answer. It was fun to get to know Bennett a little more since we always would hear about him from his sister. I wasn’t so sure about Kira, but she grew on me. I think my favorite series so far has been the 2nd one but I really enjoyed the holiday vibes and the dogs in this 3rd installment of the series! I look forward to getting to know more about the dream harbor residents and seeing how all their stories connect!
Thank you, Net Galley, the author, and the publisher, for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am officially completely obsessed with this series! I was so excited to receive this approval to do this ARC. I had just finished book 1 and 2 in October so it was perfect timing! this is seriously the most perfect Christmas book!
Some Tropes:
🎄Grumpy x Sunshine
⭐️Small Town
🎄Forced Proximity
⭐️One Bed
🎄Second Chance
This book has my 2 favorite things. 1. Small town romance and 2. Christmas . Dream Harbor is the most perfect town and I’m devastated it’s not a real place! The characters in this book were perfect. There truly isn’t anything else you need to ask for from this book!
Thank you to @netgalley , @harpercollins360 , @onemorechapterhc and @lauriegilmore_author for giving me the opportunity to do this ARC! I am so grateful for this opportunity!
I absolutely loved The Christmas Tree Farm! This series has been one of my favorites, and I was thrilled to see a Christmas-themed book added. Kira and Ben’s dynamic as the grumpy, Christmas-hating farm owner and the sunshine-y visitor was such a fun twist, especially with the whole small-town Christmas vibe. Their back-and-forth made me laugh, and I enjoyed seeing Kira slowly warm up (literally and figuratively) to both the season and Ben.
The holiday setting, combined with the forced proximity and “one bed” tropes, made this feel like the cozy, festive rom-com I didn’t know I needed. As someone who loves both Christmas books and this series, I was all in from the start. If you’re in the mood for a light, spicy holiday romance, this one is such a treat!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Book #3 in The Dream Harbor Series. I loved it just as much as the first 2. It had all the small town feels added with a Christmas “Hallmark-y” feel! I’m here for it! Love, love, love!! Can’t wait for book #4!
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper 360 for this digital ARC.
The Christmas Tree Farm is book 3 in the Dream Harbor series. You can read this as a standalone, but I do recommend starting with book 1 to really understand all of the character's backgrounds and motivations. Kira hates Christmas... too bad she just bought the local Christmas tree farm. Everyone wants her to reopen it, but she is hesitant and not in the Christmas kind of mood Bennett is in town to visit his sister, but his life is going to change once he bumps into the grumpy Christmas tree farm lady...
Great spicy cozy story, perfect for the holiday season!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars
A great addition to the Dream Harbor series. Super realistic, no, A Hallmark movie in book form with a little spice, yes.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for the advanced digital copy! Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Once again thank you Laurie Gilmore for a 5 star read! I have loved all of these and this did not disappoint. This was a fun love story with a little spice! I
Thanks to Net Galley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Are you looking to get into the holiday spirit? Look no further, this will do it!
Laurie Gilmore does not disappoint with cozy vibes and a fun read.
We love a Laurie Gilmore novel! This is like a Hallmark movie wrapped up into a book and I devoured it! This was a nice quick and easy romance to read and a must add to your winter TBR. This is heartwarming, festive, has good amount of spice with the perfect amount of seasonal coziness and light heartedness.
This was a warm cup of cocoa on Christmas morning! Laurie truly know to make the coziest stories ever!
***Thank you to Netgalley and One More Chapter for an e-arc copy of The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore! All thoughts are my own!***
Kira North hates Christmas, which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in the town of Dream Harbor.
Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor, taking a break from his life in California. But mostly, taking a break from his latest run of disastrous dates.
After a run in with Kira in her fields, Ben has no intention of offering to help the grumpy owner set up her tree farm, despite the fact she clearly has no idea what she’s doing.
But somehow fate finds Ben at Kira’s farm once more, and as Kira watches him swing an ax at the first tree, she finds herself appreciating his strength and questionning why she refused help in the first place.
Laurie Gilmore has done it again, giving us readers another seasonal hug of a book. Each book is such a cozy and comforting read. I actually went to an event Laurie was at recently, and listening to her talk about how she came up with the books was very interesting. From how she creates her couples to using some of the characteristics of her characters from her own experiences.
Any time I read a Dream Harbor book, I just love being back with the cast of characters. Their friendship is what I love to see in a friend group. And seeing the entire town coming to support the tree farm was great.
This book definitely gave the cozy Christmas vibes. Her books definitely read like a Hallmark movie, which honestly I need sometimes. But this book didn't have as much of a mystery element as the other books, especially The Cinnamon Bun Book Store. It was very small, the romance on the tree farm being the main plot point.
Kira and Bennett are such flawed characters, but the fact that they were willing to work through their flaws to make their relationship work was so relatable. I like how realistic the characters in this series are. I can't wait to read more of this series as the books come out (especially Annie and Mac's story.) These books are just such light reads and definitely cozy.
The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore is available now!
I truly enjoyed this book. It was just what I needed and it got me in the Christmas sprit. I will now go put my tree up lol.
Another adorable romance with a satisfying HEA from Laurie Gilmore. This one is grumpy x sunshine and forced proximity which I ate up. What I love most about this series is how cozy each book is and that they are interconnected so we get to see characters from the previous books from time to time. This is the perfect book to read when you're looking for something sweet and low stakes.
Number 3 in the series brings us back to the idyllic town of Dream Harbor. Kira North hates Christmas. Which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s too cute for its own good. Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor taking a break from his life in California. And most importantly, taking a break from his latest run of disastrous dates. So of course, while out walking his three adorable dogs, he runs into Kira on the edge of her tree farm. He vows not to help her and she vows not to take any help from him. Well, you know that won't work out. These two have crazy chemistry and find themselves unable to stay away from each other. But how will they ever make it work? He lives in California and she owns the tree farm in Dream Harbor. What follows is a spicy good time as they try to work it out!
As usual, I really enjoyed this seasonal story. Dream Harbor still feels like a trip home to see good friends. If you love Gilmore Girls, I think this series will be for you!
Thank you to @netgalley and @harper360 for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is a fun and completely cheesy holiday rom com and I am totally here for it. It gives everything you want in a holiday story with the grand finale of a cheesy ending!
thanks to Harper 360, NetGalley, Laurie Gilmore for an ARC of this book.
5 stars!! It's not often that you hear about a FMC being the grumpy character in a grumpy x sunshine book. This was a great continuation of the Dream Harbor series, it was nearly a love at first sight situation. Kira was unsure of what her life would be like once she moved into this town, especially since her sister Chloe wouldn't be around to witness it. Bennett and his dogs stumbled onto her newly opened Christmas tree farm, and they were constantly attached at the hip ever since. I'm glad there's a fourth book in this series, I can't get enough of these characters.
Another warm, sweet, Hallmark-esqu book from this author ❤️ I am loving all things Dream Harbor ☺️
This book is bout Kira and Bennett. Kira is an icy woman who’s working through some grief while owning and working at the Christmas Tree Farm. Bennett is able to thaw her icy personality and wants to help her but, isn’t sure if he should because he’s unsure of her intentions.
If you enjoyed the first two books from this author then, you’ll enjoy this one as well. Perfect for the holiday season. If you like the warm, sweet Hallmark vibe with a little spice, then give this book a try ❤️
This is a sweet Christmas romance. It’s the 3rd in a series, all with similarly cutesy names. I actually liked this one better than the first. Very sweet, moderate spice. Cute. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley from One More Chapter / HarperCollinsPublishers. Thank you! All opinions are my own.
When I saw that the author was going to continue the series with Christmas Tree Farm, I immediately put myself on hold for it. This novel is the third in the Dream Harbor series, and features a standalone romance in the same location / universe as the others (Pumpkin Spice Cafe, and Cinnamon Bun Book Store).
Christmas Tree Farm follows Kira North, who is the resident recluse, especially when it comes to the holidays. But she is also the brand new owner of the Christmas tree farm outside of Dream Harbor. Bennett Ellis is Jeannie’s brother, who is back in town just for the holidays. When he crosses paths with Kira, he is both intrigued, yet uncertain about her. When the town is convinced there is buried treasure on Kira’s property, they send Bennett to investigate. Hijinks and mayhem ensues in this delightfully steamy rom-com.
The pacing throughout the novel was very well done, and all the major plot points hit at the right times to make the story flow very well. I couldn’t put this novel down – I finished it in three days. I really appreciated the care the author gave when dealing with the fears of each of the main characters, especially during the third act. The humor and banter between Kira and Bennett was top-notch. There were moments that were laugh-out-loud funny, but it wasn’t anything over the top.
I would recommend any of the Dream Harbor novels, since they are sure to delight readers of contemporary romance, who are looking for something cozy, yet steamy. The fourth book in the series, Strawberry Patch Pancake House, is set to release in 2025, and I can’t wait to read it!
The Dream Harbor series continues to blow me away. I typically shy away from romance, considering most of the books I’ve read in the genre have been on the cornier side. However these books, and The Christmas Tree Farm in particular are *incredibly* charming and captivating. The setting in this book was palpable, I was able to envision everything distinctly which really helped with getting me in the holiday mood! Bennett and Kira are probably my favorite MC’s in the series so far, and their story felt believable and genuine. A typical problem I have with romance is excess smut but I felt like this book had a proper balance and leaned more toward emotion which I prefer. Also the dogs?! I was obsessed and made me love the two MC’s and the book even more. I’ll be eagerly anticipating the fourth book!
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I will start by saying that I read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore prior to reading this, as they are all set in the same town with the same cast of characters. I knew that with The Christmas Tree Farm that I could look forward to solid writing and a story that flowed right along, and it did not disappoint. This is a grumpy/sunshine romance where the FMC is the grumpy newcomer to town and the sunshine MMC is the brother to The Pumpkin Spice Cafe’s FMC. I enjoyed how their story progressed, but Kira drove me nuts for about the first 3/4 of the book. She just seemed very full of herself, and tried to appear as if she did not come from a life of extreme privilege. As a character, she came across as very combative, bordering on rude at times, while the rest of the cast just tried to continue to show her genuine kindness. (She has definitely been my least favorite character so far in the series.) But as a whole, this was a very entertaining book, and I cannot wait for books 4 and 5 to release!
This book is the perfect Christmas that features cozy friendships, steamy romance, and the personal growth that the holidays inevitably bring.
Loved this one! Possibly my fave of the series! I loved the reverse grumpy x sunshine (ish) it’s always the guy who is grumpy but not here! The spice was great, the story was so interesting and so believable! I loved coming back to this universe! Such a cute, fun low stakes series!
I love Bennett and how hard he loves, I feel for him and his situation, I liked Kira and her bravery and sass! Overall a fun Christmas season read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper360 for providing me the opportunity to read this book ahead of publication!
I thought this was a really sweet, cute story and very much enjoyed it. This was my pallet cleanser to the thriller books that I have been reading and I couldn’t have chosen a better book to read as a thriller break. I was not able to put this book down! I fell in love with the main characters and the author wrote this book so well that it felt as though you were right there with the characters. This book has officially put me into the holiday spirit and now I am on a mission to read more from this author and to read more holiday romance books.
Tropes: Grumpy/Sunshine, One Bed, Small Town, Romance, Christmas, Cozy, Forced Proximity
Spice Level: 5/5
We're back in Dream Harbor for the third installment of Laurie Gilmore's series. For book three, Kira is the new owner of the Christmas tree farm. The twist is that she hates Christmas! We also have Bennet who is visiting his sister, Jeanie, for the holiday season. Our holiday grump and golden retriever end up crossing paths and take us on a "will they/won't they" journey.
This was an enjoyable read and recommend to anyone in search of a cozy holiday read ! I appreciated Kira's self-awareness and her determination towards achieving change in her life. I also loved seeing the relationship with her sister, even when their relationship had its own set of challenges. Ben was sweet but I wished we saw more of his past to better understand why he has a "people pleaser" personality. We get a glimpse at his previous toxic relationship but it just felt a bit off. Overall, I liked seeing how these two characters came together and were able to push each other to be vulnerable and outgrow their old habits.
Something I struggled with was that this was a part of "Dream Harbor" series when both of these characters are new to town. I absolutely loved the first two books in the series and wished book three was Annie and Mac's story. Even though there were mentions of Bennet throughout the first two books and glimpses of Kira in the last, they felt disconnected from the series as a whole.
I will never not be thankful for this series. it gives my gilmore girls loving heart all the feels! dream harbor is where i want to live out the rest of my days!
I love that Laurie adds a bit of suspense in her books, every book has had some sort of mystery to it (as per the nosey book club). Kira bought the Christmas Tree Farm in Dream Harbor and while she doesn't want to open it back up, she decided she must do it for an income. Enter spooky happenings, the book club says that the tree farm is "haunted" and has some "possible treasures."
I liked this one for the plot a lot. the hallmark small town vibes of the grumpy girl coming into town and buying a tree farm but refuses to open it b/c she is basically a grinch. Bennett was the best part of this book for me, I loved him with all of my being which in all truth, is why I kept reading. he was such a good mmc and so likable and precious to me. this definitely gave all the rom com and hallmark holiday vibes, and I ended up loving the plot and how the story played out. it was warm and cozy, and Bennett is the best for just wanting to make Kira happy, even if at some points, i almost felt like he deserved better, but that quality about him made him that much more endearing.
I will say part of the reason I'm only giving this book 4 stars is because I struggled with Kira's character throughout the book. she was so mean, not just grumpy, plain mean. her character development was definitely good to see because i did see parts of her i liked, she was funny and really did deserve a happy ending in the end, but at points it was hard not to think about how she acted in the beginning.
This was a really fun and quick read for me. I read the other two books in the Dream Harbor series. This was like entering a Hallmark movie but with spice. We have these two characters- grumpy x sunshine trope, and you'd never guess the FMC is the grump! I really enjoyed this one, thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the galley. I am looking forward to reading the rest of Dream Harbor!
💕📚ARC Review📚💕 Thank you @netgalley, @lauriegilmore_author, and @harpercollins360 for an ARC of The Christmas Tree Farm! This has been my favorite so far in the Dream Harbor series. 🎄
While this could be a stand alone, definitely read the first two in the Dream Harbor series, The Pumpkin Spice Café and The Cinnamon Bun Bookshop to get to know the other secondary characters. The is the story of Bennett Ellis, Jeanie’s (the owner of The Pumpkin Spice Café) brother who is visiting and taking a break from his life (and past romantic decisions) in California and Kira North, the new owner of the Christmas Tree Farm, who is grumpy and not a fan of Christmas. Kira is heartbroken that her twin and best friend got married and now lives abroad with her husband.
Kira quickly learns she has no idea how to run a farm and Bennet offers to help grumpy Kira (he’s a fix-it guy) when he’s on her property walking his dogs, but she stubbornly resists his offer. The grinch has a change of heart and begins to warm up to both Bennett and accepting help from her new community.
I loved this one! As I mentioned, it is my fave of the Dream Harbor series so far. Some may find Kira a bit unlikeable, but I really enjoyed the reverse grumpy x sunshine trope. Being the third in the series, coming back to Dream Harbor and seeing Jeannie, Annie, the town meetings, Logan’s grandparents’ farm, etc. is such a joy to revisit. The perfect Gilmore Girls-esque Hallmark Christmas style novel with a touch of spice. 🎄
YOWZA! What a great read! I became a Laurie Gilmore fan after reading the first book in this series, but just wait until you read how she does Christmas! This is a must read!
To say BookTok made me do it is a totally true statement. Sometimes I feel like fantastic authors, especially new ones are hidden behind all of the other mega famous authors and if it weren't for BookTok, I might have never discovered some cozy seasonal reads like these.
Forever grateful for NetGallery allowing me this early ebook copy in exchange for a review.
A perfect holiday read, get you favorite fluffy blanket, your hot beverage and snuggle in with this sweet Christmas read!
The FMC Kira hates Christmas and unknowingly buys a Christmas Tree Farm. She's stuck fixing it up to earn money to survive. When she meets out MMC Bennet who is only in town for a short time visiting with Family and getting some work done. He loves to help people too much and she's trying not to need anyone anymore. What a match made in heaven!
I really enjoyed this book! I liked how similar yet different it was in comparison to the first two. It gave all the Christmas vibes I was wanting.
I do think when it came to the writing, this one was the best. You could tell the author has grown with her writing!
Overall, I loved this book. I think it might have been my favorite of the three so far!!
Loved this book. Laurie’s books only get better and better.
Kira and Bennett are my favorite characters so far.
I want to see more of these characters and how Kira grows the farm.
I think it would have been fun if there was more hidden treasures and notes that Edwin had hidden around the house/farm to have been found.
I seriously cannot wait for book four.
What a lovely feel-good story that gives you all the Christmas feels. It has humor, it has heart, it has dogs. I am not sure how this author can convey the season so well but The Pumpkin Spice Cafe was perfect for fall and this was perfect for Christmas season. I love how the set up for these characters, the grumpy recluses kinda of clueless Kira trying to be independent and make her way without help and she is paired up with the ultimate Mr. Fix it cinnamon roll darling in Bennet.. They are so cute together.
I love how Kira loved dogs so much but she is a little put off by people. I love seeing her become apart of this wonderful little town and really learn how to be independent while understanding that help is needed and knowing when to ask for and accept it is very important.
I love the town and all the kookie side characters, the wacky sex crazed book club that is always up to trouble. This town is the perfect back drop for such lovely stories and gives me such Gilmore Girl feels. I love all the festivals, all the reasons that the towns people get into peoples business but they are also always there to welcome a new comer and make them part of their world.
I love the setting of the old farm house, the snow storm that forces them together. I can totally see them making a huge success of this beautiful little farm together.
These book and this series are just so perfect. Witty and sweet, a little sexy and with easy lovely story. Highly Recommend to all that love a grumpy sunshine, small town with lovely side characters, all the wonderful Christmas season shenanigans you could want.
I read the first book in this series and, while it was entertaining, it didn’t really hook me, so I skipped book two. However, I’m so glad my book club picked up book three because I genuinely enjoyed it! The characters felt so raw and vulnerable, their fears driving much of the conflict, but that honesty made them incredibly relatable. It felt real, and that connection made all the difference for me. Highly recommend giving this one a chance!
Love this series and can't wait to find out more about everyone!
I always love a good romcom set around Christmas time. I felt like I was apart of the story with how the author writes!
I love this book! Laurie Gilmore always paints liveable characters and such dreamy settings for these books! I enjoy watching these characters evolve, and that the storyline is easy going and makes it an enjoyable, quick read! Looking forward to her two new books coming soon!
I really liked The Christmas Tree Farm, #3 in Laurie Gilmore's Dream Harbor series. In the small town of Dream Harbor, some one bought the old Christmas Tree Farm, and everyone in town wants to know if they can 1)buy Christmas trees there again, and 2)if it's true that there is something buried out at the farm, if so, is it a treasure, or a body? Enter Bennett Ellis, in town to visit his sister Jeanie for the holidays. He goes to a town meeting, and somehow gets talked into going out to the tree farm, befriending the new owner, Kira North, and getting the answers to all the townsfolks' questions. Kira purchased the farm to change her life because her twin sister married a Danish man and moved to Denmark. Kira misses her horribly, and wants to get as far away from her high society parents as possible. Inspired by internet influencers who are going off the grid and living an "authentic life", she buys the farm to maybe grow some vegetables and sell some pickles, or something,. but faced with a very ancient boiler in her new farm house, she needs money fast, so she does open the tree farm, as a first step to achieving her dream. Bennett is trying to escape his past romantic habit of fixing and taking care of everyone he dates, because they take advantage of him and eventually break his heart.
He's having trouble not stepping in the help Kira, who he finds very attractive, and freezing in her new home. Can Bennett let Kira solve her problems on her own? Can Kira resist the handsome Bennett, who's visit has an expiration date? This is my favorite of the Dream Harbor books so far, and the steamiest. I also like Kira's observation that these influencers who are living authentically off the grid, seem to have access to a good internet connection, since they're constantly posting about their activities. Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins360 for an advance readers ebook to review.
I didn’t expect to enjoy *Christmas Tree Farm* as much as I did, but it turned out to be the perfect dose of joy and holiday spirit to wrap up the month.
The story follows Kira, who finds herself on her own for the first time after using her trust fund to purchase a farm. Her dreams for the farm are big, but first, she has to survive the Christmas season—and sell trees from the farm to keep her plans afloat.
Enter Ben, living in California no real intention of sticking around to help (just visiting his sister). But as Kira struggles (though she’d never admit it), Ben can’t help but lend a hand—even if his return to California keeps calling.
The story is undeniably cute, though it doesn’t dive too deep. That said, I went into it knowing this would be a light, quick read, and it delivered exactly what I hoped for. Sometimes, there’s something so comforting about a simple, heartwarming story, and I can see why readers are drawn to books like this. It’s the perfect cozy escape.
Laurie Gilmore's writing just keeps getting better and better! My favorite part about this book is that it stayed Christmas themed 110% throughout the entire time. I had to find myself some stroopwaffles because.. YUM! The way it was described in this book had me drooling. If you are a dog lover, you will love this a little more extra because they first meet by Bennett's dogs running a muck and the last chapter was just oh so cute. My least fav was Bennett's ex getting her one and only chapter, she irritated me af and I didn't think there needed to be closure about that. You also get some spice (steamy snow storm 😉 ) and all of the other characters from her previous series!
This was such a cute Christmas read. Just like a Hallmark Christmas movie. Exactly what I love in my holiday books! Kira buys a Christmas tree farm but is not a very “cheerful” owner and hates Christmas. Bennett is from California and is visiting Dream Harbor. He meets Kira at her Christmas tree farm! Their first meeting is less than perfect, but after a few chances things heat up. I really enjoyed this one. The characters are adorable and I loved the small town vibes too. It has funny parts and also steamy scenes. A quick, fun and festive read!
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own!
Finally got to this one after missing my Dream Harbor friends for too long! I picked up the first two in this series this year, and could not WAIT to get my hands on The Christmas Tree Farm. This one was just as sweet and cozy as the other two. I'm a little sad to have read through it so quickly as I now have quite a wait ahead before the next! Thanks Netgalley for the gifted copy!!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Let me start off saying this is the 3rd book set in Dream Harbor, and I have not read the first two books before reading this one. The beautiful thing about these books is they are all standalones, even if they are set in the same world.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked both the FMC and MMC, I liked the Christmas tree farm setting. I liked that Kira was kind of the grump and Bennett was more of the sunshine. There are definitely some on-page steamy scenes. But I think what I liked most of all was these two people finding each other, clicking, and talking things through. Though there is the dreaded third act break up, it makes sense in this one, and it resolves smoothly. If you want holiday vibes, small town vibes, helpful and kind people, dogs, and lots on inner monologue through development and growth, I'd recommend checking this one out. After reading this I'll probably add her other two books to my TBR.
I was fortunate enough to receive The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore as an ARC from Net Galley.
Love Hallmark Movies? But wish they had a bit more “spice”? This is the book/author for you.
Kira, wanting to escape her rich parents, buys the Christmas Tree farm in Dream Harbor. Mind you she knows nothing about running a Christmas Tree farm. That’s where handsome Bennett comes into the picture.
Their first meeting is not ideal to say the least, but a few more chance encounters and things begin to heat up. When a snow storm traps them at Kira’s house, where the heat doesn’t work, the two find others ways to keep warm.
I highly recommend you check out this book as well as the entire series.
Always love her books I’ve read everyone so far! This book was the perfect Christmas romance book better then hallmark to get me in the mood for Christmas. I would recommend this always
I have read the other 2 novels in this series and personally I preferred them. I still loved the plot, and I hope that with my second reread I could change my mind! Overall great writing, easy to understand characters and HEA!
Absolutely my favorite book of the entire series hands down! This was such an adorable holiday romance and the vibes were vibing the entire time!
I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I liked this story, but didn't enjoy it as much as the first two novels. I felt that the characters didn't really have any ties to the town, and just spent most of their time alone on the Christmas Tree Farm. I wish they had tied into the town we know and love a bit more. But, the parts we did get with others were great. And the dogs were great.
This is the third book in this fun and festive series. Kira buys a Christmas tree farm with fanciful ideas but without experience running one. She is out of money and pretty glum when she meets Bennett, who is kind and definitely a people pleaser. Their story is important because it introduces Kira to the town and opens her up to the community spirit. I've enjoyed each book and this one is no exception.
Hallmark movie in a book! This is a cute palette cleanser. It’s cozy and easy to read, nothing ground breaking but that’s not what some books are for. I will say after three books that it is feeling a bit repetitive.
Cute Christmas story. Just what I like the for the holiday season! The characters were quirky but not irritatingly so. While the romance happens fast, it didn’t bother me as much as it normally would. I just liked Kira and Bennett. The story isn’t deep, but it was just the type of cozy reading I was in the mood for.
Another fun read by Laurie Gilmore! Festive storyline with a couple of new and endearing characters. Cant wait to read the next book in the series!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I've heard about the other books in this series, but haven't read them yet. However, being a sucker for Christmas books, I was excited to try this one out. Even though I hadn't read the other books in the series, it was not necessary. There was enough of a recap to understand the character dynamics.
Kira, a spoiled rich girl who is lost and wants to find herself, uses her inheritance to buy a derelict Christmas tree farm in the hopes of homesteading like she sees influencers doing on social media. Buying the farm sight unseen, she quickly realizes that she is in over her head. She wasn't prepared for what homesteading would be or for the poor shape that the house is in. Broke and with a house in need of so many repairs, she realizes her only option is to re-open the Christmas tree farm. Luckily, the town comes together to help and support her. Of course, in the midst of the town supporting her, they also send Bennett, visiting brother of the Pumpkin Spice cafe owner to check out her property where there is rumored to be something buried-is it a body, treasure? The town isn't sure, but wants to protect Kira from any possible unwelcomed surprises. While sort of spying, Bennett starts helping Kira, who wants to be independent, but realizes she needs the help. Slowly but surely, the two see that they have much in common and undeniable chemistry.
This book was such a cute read and the town and Christmas tree farm were just perfect! Looking forward to going back to read the other books in the series!
I totally adore this book series. The difficult challenge is which book is my favorite? I really enjoy the character development and each storyline, for it is a comforting, cheerful, spicy and all together feel good story. I look forward to the next installment to the series. I am well invested in the characters, their lives and the romance that has developed.
This is the third book in the Dream Harbor series. While you don’t need to read the books in order, it does enrich the experience to see the characters' development across the series. This story follows Bennett (Jeanie’s brother from the first book) and Kira, who recently moved to Dream Harbor after buying a run-down Christmas tree farm. Kira is struggling with her crumbling house, while Bennett tries to manage his urge to fix everyone’s problems. It’s a lovely holiday read, and now I’m eagerly waiting for Annie and Mac's story!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital arc.
This series is so cute. Its delightful and cozy! I'm reading them in order but they can be enjoyed in any order.
I loved this one so much more than Pumpkin Spice Cafe and that's probably because I like my books on the spicier side. While the PSC had spice, the spice in The Christmas Tree Farm was much more intense and more vividly relatable. I loved how sarcastic Kira was at the beginning and didn't lose her spunk throughout the whole book. I also loved how Bennett pursued her but also gave her space to come into her own and realize her own strength away from her parents money. I rated this book 4.5 stars and highly recommend!
Super cute and fun for the season to get in the spirit. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!
I loved this one, and am glad for this small town series. I can't wait to meet more Dreamers with the next books.
This is the perfect Christmas feels book!
Kira North buys a rundown Christmas tree farm in search of a new life, in another town, far away from everything she has ever known. Kira is grumpy by nature, doesn't want to be bothered by any of the locals. She just wants to run her business and sell Christmas trees people near and far. She runs into Bennett Ellis, who is walking his dogs along her farm. Bennett's sister, Jeanie, runs The Pumpkin Spice Cafe in town. Bennett is just in town for the holidays and Kira tries her best to stay away. Bennett is drawn to Kira's grumpy nature, but he also, more than anything, is drawn to fixing her "Damsel in distress". Bennett gently works his way into Kira's life. Although she tries very hard to resist his persistence, she breaks down the walls and they develop a beautiful friendship. Kira and Bennett both have baggage from previous relationships/life and they work their way through those obstacles with the help of the locals.
Such a cute romance. Perfect for the holidays! Definitely recommend reading this one!
This was book 3 of the Dream Harbor series, I love this series so so much! They are all the best parts of the small town Gilmore Girls/Stars Hollow vibes. This book was about a woman who decides to buy a Christmas tree farm (sight unseen) and when she gets there realizes how rough of shape it's in, but she is determined to see it through and make this huge life decision work regardless of all the obstacles she's now facing with this run down property. She finds a handsome trespasser walking his dogs on her farm one day, and to her surprise her grumpiness doesn't deter him. He is kind and he is someone who always wants to help people so he becomes determined, despite her stubbornness, to help her get her property back into a safe and operating place. The more he keeps showing up, the more he's kind and helpful despite her trying to drive him away, she begins to wonder why she is constantly refusing the help of this handsome man to begin with. She is starting to warm up to him and realize the last thing she wants to be lonely at the holidays. 💚📚
Thank you to the author and to the publisher for this ARC of The Christmas Tree Farm, in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you Net Galley and Thank you Laurie Gilmore
Very easy read. Cute story
From the author of the viral TikTok sensation, The Pumpkin Spice Café, comes the only spicy grumpy x sunshine Christmas romcom you need this year!
Kira North hates Christmas. Which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s too cute for its own good.
Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor taking a break from his life in California. And most importantly, taking a break from his latest run of disastrous dates.
After a run in with Kira in her fields, Ben has no intention of offering to help the grumpy owner set up her tree farm, despite the fact she’s clearly got no idea what she’s doing.
Kira knows she should stop being so stubborn, but her farm is not all cute and cozy like people always show on social media, it’s borderline dangerous with no heating, and she’d rather no one saw it.
But somehow fate finds Ben at Kira’s farm once more, and as Kira watches him swing an ax at the first tree, she finds herself appreciating his strength and questionning why she refused help in the first place..
Thank you NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review. I love this series and this book did not disappoint! Kira has had it easy in life coming from a rich family and a land of opportunity. When Kira's twin sister gets married and moves away, it leaves Kira wondering what she is going to do with her own life. She impulsively spends her inheritance money on a Christmas tree farm. Bennett and his dogs come to town to visit his sister Jeanie. With the help of his dogs and the nosy town, Kira and Bennett keep spending time together and attraction blooms. Kira works on becoming independent from her twin and learning the ropes of owning a Christmas tree farm while Bennett figures out how to trust and open his heart to a relationship as he has been burned so many times before for being too nice and a Mr. Fix It.
3.5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟 rounded up
This series has been my palette cleanser between heavier reads, If you have enjoyed Pumpkin Spice Café and Cinnamon Bun Bookstore you are sure to love this winter installment. Starting her life over with no experience, an old run down house & an abandoned tree farm we have our new townie FMC: Kira (Black cat type woman who wants to be left alone and has definitely bitten of more than she can chew). On the other hand we have Bennet: (Golden retriever of males who loves to help and fix things) who is in town for a while visiting his sister and escaping some previous relationship toxicity.
This is Hallmark Christmas charm & spice so if that's your thing you'll love it. While some moments were definitely Christmas cringe, they were endearing in their own way, and you will have a hard time not falling in love with Bennett.
I’ll admit, I had a hard time warming up to Kira at first. As the grumpy half of the grumpy-sunshine trope, her attitude felt harsh and actually mean for means sake, especially since Bennet never really deserved it. But as the story unfolded, I grew to appreciate her growth and the way their dynamic evolved. Bennet’s patience and charm persevered as we unpacked Kira's past.
Thank you for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback !
The snowy small-town setting is practically glowing with Christmas magic, making this perfect for anyone looking for a festive escape. While you can read it as a standalone, you’ll get more out of it if you’ve read the previous books first.
If you are looking for the perfect cozy small town holiday read, I highly recommend, The Christmas Tree Farm! 🎄
Thank you NetGalley, Harper Collins, and Laurie Gilmore for the opportunity to read the ARC of The Christmas Tree Farm.
After reading The Pumpkin Spice Café a few years ago I knew I just had to read another book by the same author.
This is the third book in the Dream Harbor series, each book is connected some with the same characters, but you don't have to read them in order, and each has a standalone story.
This one is as Christmassy as it gets. I mean who doesn't love the thought of a classic cut your own Christmas tree farm with dogs running around?
Throw in a grumpy Christmas tree farm owner, Kira who really doesn't know how to promote her business.
When Ben takes his dogs for a run in the woods and meets Kira for the first time it's not that flowery meet cute, we all dream about. She accuses him of trespassing, and he can't wait to get away from her. The book had me laughing out loud so many times. He's fun and sunshiny, she's the grump and despite him trying she's really not interested in changing.
She's a dog lover and I think his dogs may have swayed her to start coming around. He seems to just pop up everywhere she is and things just take off from there.
Loved seeing the Christmas tree farm coming to life and the towns people so happy and spirited and the Christmas spirit of the season hits them.
A spicy Christmas story full of warmth and charm.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.
I enjoyed this third installment to the Dream Harbor series. While this book was not revolutionary in terms of story or writing, it was an enjoyable easy read, especially reading it in December. I was pleasantly surprised by this - I went in expecting cliche hallmark movie in book form, which this absolutely delivered, but it worked for me and I enjoyed it. Maybe because I haven't overdosed on hallmark for the year, which gave me more space to enjoy it. It was great to see some of the returning characters, and I enjoyed Kira's growth. There's definitely a decent bit of privilege that Kira has, but it was manageable (it more so impacted the setup and premise of this book). Bennett was fine as the MMC, but not necessarily stand out in any particular way, either good or bad. He had issues to work through, but they didn't really feel high stakes at all, and those are resolved.
Can't wait to read Annie and Mac's story, hoping that comes soon!
3.75⭐
Cute and a little spicy holiday treat. The grumpy Christmas tree farm owner, in a little over her head, meets cinnamon roll Mr. fix-it sunshine. No surprises but a fun quick read.
This is the perfect read for the Christmas season! It captures all the festive vibes in a charming, spicier Hallmark style. The story offers a fun twist on the grumpy/sunshine trope, with our female main character, Kira, taking on the grumpy role.
Kira moves to Dream Harbor after her twin sister relocates across the world with her husband, leaving Kira feeling lost and lonely. After binge-watching a plethora of homesteading content online (who can blame her?), she decides to purchase a farmhouse sight unseen. Little did she know, she had just bought the town's beloved Christmas tree farm. The only downside? She absolutely hates Christmas.
Bennett comes to town to visit his sister in December after she convinces him to stay with her. Known for his fixing tendencies, Bennett can't resist stepping in to help Kira when he discovers she needs it. But is he only helping her out of a sense of obligation, or does he genuinely have feelings for her?
I think this novel is my favorite of all the Dream Harbor books so far. I admire Kira's bravery in changing her circumstances when she could have easily continued her comfortable life. She knew what she wanted and went for it. Bennett was a dream come true, and I’m so glad he was able to overcome his insecurities in the end. I can't wait for the next in the series to be released!
I like this book better than the second book and less than the first book, but only because I just do. I like that one of the main characters in this one really is a Grinch (and it's not a guy).
My Review
So I read the first two books in this series. I didn’t enjoy the pumpkin spice Café as much, but it was still a good little book and everyone kept telling me the second one was better. I absolutely loved the cinnamon bun bookstore. This one would be my second favorite of the series so far. Kira starts off kind of annoying in the beginning. She’s a complainer however that gets better as the book goes on and she grew on me. I loved that both of the characters aren’t from dream Harbor. Kira moved there suddenly from Georgia and Bennett is there visiting for the holidays with his sister. So it was interesting that a love story would blossom there. If you want a hallmarky cute read before Christmas. This is the one.
Thank you @netgalley and @harpercollins360 for this arc.
This book gave me the exact cozy small town holiday feels that I wanted. I’ve read all the books in the series so far, so returning to Dream Harbor felt familiar and cozy for sure.
I didn’t necessary understand the initial hostility Kira had for Bennett, but regardless I did think that they had immediate chemistry. Both of them felt like real, realized characters that were relatable with backstories and internal hurdles that made them really interesting on their own and made their romance all the more rewarding. It was a solid Christmas romance and probably my second favorite in the series so far.
