What a precious book this is! Everything is broken down and explained so well that you couldn't possibly make something that didn't taste phenomenal. I can't wait to give several of these recipes a shot.

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC.

The art in this book alone makes reading this cookbook worth it.
I loved the art so much it brought a lot of joy when sifting through the recipes and seeing what components to make.
I highly appreciated the scale of cooking level that an item made. This made it easier to recognize what to start with.
The author does a fantastic job of explaining the details of each recipe as well as explaining how to make different components of ramen and why you may want to put them in your ramen.

So cute!!!
And amazing recipes!
I live the it goes into bases, topping, and full recipes separately, so you can mix and match a bit.
I was surprised to see how long some of the bases took to make, so you'll definitely need to have a full day to prepare them.

This cookbook is a delight! I have always wanted to learn how to make a proper bowl of ramen and this book does an excellent job of breaking down the recipes in a way that I, someone with limited experience in the kitchen, find very approachable. There are so many recipes that I am excited to try when I finally have some time to spend in the kitchen.

I also want to say that I truly appreciated the introduction in which the author gives some background into what lead her to make this cookbook. It was nice to get to know the woman behind the recipes.

I would be remiss if I didn't also comment on how absolutely adorable the cover and pages of this book are. I have a weakness for pastels and kawaii aesthetics. 🥰

This is the absolute cutest cookbook I have ever seen!
Not only is it super kawaii, it's also very informative and helps you figure out what the level of the recipe and also educates you
on different types of ramens and their origin.
I highly recommend it, even if you are just a ramen eater and not cooking them yourself!

amazing art!

Without having tried the recipes, this book is such a wonderful addition to anyone’s kitchen who loves ramen! Having just got back from Japan last month, I’m craving a good bowl of ramen and I can’t wait to try these recipes out! Illustrations are super cute. I love how the book is broken down, having bases and their recipes first, a section on toppings, then the full recipe. The gauges for difficulty level and serving size is visually very helpful too!!

I received this DRC from NetGalley.

The styling of this book is really cute. The pages are fun colors, and the illustrations are fun. The recipes do sound like they could be delicious, but the broths need a lot of ingredients, so I might just start by making myself some of the food that's supposed to accompany it. There are also some recipes inspired by other cultures, so I thought that was an interesting touch.

I absolutely loved reading this cookbook about the different ways to make Roman. It teaches you everything you need to know, from how to cook the broth to sides that you can eat with your Roman. Some things I already knew but I did learn so much from this book. I can't wait to try out some of the recipes as everything in this book looks and sounds so good.

I haven't had a chance to try out any of the recipies from this yet but the book itself is gorgeous. Wonderfully laid out and easy to follow with colours and illustrations which pull you into the page. I hope the food is just as yummy as the illustrations suggest :)

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kawaii Café Ramen: Classic, Fun, and Delicious Ramen Meals to Make at Home by Amy Kimoto-Kahn is a gorgeously illustrated and nicely researched cookbook that is perfect for anyone who loves ramen and may want to try making these delicious dishes.

I really appreciate the indepth look at the process of making ramen, from the bases, the noddles, soups, to sides. The recipes are detailed but easy to understand, making the entire process of cooking ramen seems a lot less daunting. The artworks throughout the book are absolutely beautiful and add to the cutesy aesthetics of the cookbook.

I can't wait to buy and add Kawaii Café Ramen onto my official cookbook library!

Kawaii Ramen Cafe by Amy Kimoto-Kahn is an adorable cookbook, perfect for anyone who wants to up their ramen game!

The cookbook not only provides great recipes, but also the best ways to plate, where to find ingredients, and a brief history of ramen in the states and Japan. Each recipe provides a difficulty rating, approximate servings, time to cook, and ingredients in both imperial and metric.

There's a fantastic variety of bases, toppings, and soups, enough to keep any cook busy! I would love to add this to my collection of cookbooks as soon as it comes out in 2025.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto for the eARC. All opinions in this review are my own.
I will be posting this review to Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble.

It was a privilege to read Kawaii Café Ramen. This book has given me the key to elevating my ramen-making skills from beginner to intermediate. Not only is the reader provided with delicious recipes, but also insightful information about each topping and dish.

When I started reading this book, I expected only the ingredients and methods of preparing ramen to be provided. I was surely mistaken. Kimoto-Kahn provided insight into where she sourced her ingredients rather than just telling the reader what the ingredients are. The instructions for each recipe are meticulous and detailed. The reader is provided with the difficulty level, serving sizes, preparation time, measurement conversions, and translations of Japanese ingredients. This information is crucial when deciding whether or not you'll make a dish. It is evident that extensive research was done to prepare this book.

Before reading this book, I would prepare my ramen by only boiling noodles and sprinkling in the spice packet. Kawaii Café Ramen has changed my view on preparing ramen. The description does not lie when it says, "down-to-earth writing," because I could comprehend every recipe as an individual with beginner culinary skills. Whether you want to make a flavourful and hearty ramen dish for yourself or to impress friends and family, I suggest you read this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Rock Point for providing me with this ARC.

The prettiest cookbook! I love the illustrations and also how it is divided into different themes. Many recipes sound delicious and I will be making them. A must-buy for the ramen lover who want to try something new.

Oh, "Kawaii Care Ramen" is an utter joy in so many ways! Amy Kimoto-Kahn put in so much effort to make ramen-bowls as easy and as unintimidating as possible. Many of the core components, like the broth bases, toppings, and even sides are given their own devoted chapters. Then the individual recipes themselves also come with estimated prep times, a number based on a 1-5 difficulty level, and also the estimated number of servings. It really puts one at ease as they start to look through the actual ramen bowls themselves that are rich with variety and flavor combinations, many of which are entirely brand new to me personally. And of course, I cannot forget the absolutely adorable artwork.

Just an absolute delight of a cookbook!

This recipe book is definitely adorable!! The art is the absolute best - definitely enticing to readers. The recipes looks amazing and straightforward. It's definitely different from a normal cookbook, and could bring a lot of attention for being both cute and less daunting.

This recipe book is literally perfect! The aesthetic and art are absolutely stunning and give it such a cozy feel, the recipes sound delicious and they're easy to follow and whole layout is really nice

Excellent and cute book about ramen. Perfect combination between kawaii and cooking.
I will be modifying and mixing a couple of the recipes here to my taste because it offers so much variety.

This ramen cookbook by Amy Kimoto-Kahn is strangely heartfelt and adorable.

The book starts with an introduction to the chef, which proves her credentials in being able to make delicious ramen while also being serious and interesting. The illustrations for all the recipes are cute and the layout of the recipes are reminiscent of cooking video games.

I don't eat ramen often but if I was craving it I would turn to this book. Each recipe gives a difficulty level and a prep time, I'd know exactly what I'm getting myself into while also getting glimpses of the authors personality and easy to follow instructions. And best of all, cute pictures to base my meal off of!

This is an amazing cookbook with such clear instructions and is extremely easy to read. Although I haven't had the time to try out any of the recipes yet and sadly won't be able to for a little bit because of the current state of my kitchen.

I am not someone who cooks much and usually find it difficult to read recipes, finding there is often a lot of filler. That being said, this book is the complete opposite. The way each page is structured makes it easy to know exactly how hard it is to make, how many people it services and the prep time. This information is displayed in what could be described as a video game level bar and makes it easy and quick to find recipes within your skill level.

It was also an amazing idea to separate the book into the different aspects of the ramen (base, noodles, toppings) so you can pick and choose different combinations and try them out for yourself.

We can tell how much the author cares about making great, not good but great, ramen and has worked a lot on this book. The only thing that may be important to point out is that some of the ingredients used are very "fancy". For example, one of the topping recipes uses pork shoulder, which I learnt was an expensive and exquisite part of the pork. This isn't a negative aspect, but just something to keep in mind. There are a lot of other toppings that do not use as expensive of ingredients so you can just use those if this isn't something affordable at the moment however.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in learning more about making great ramen and learning about what makes said great ramen better than just good ramen.

The illustrations are so cute. I almost forgot this was a cookbook. There are so many recipes and there is something for everyone. I can't wait to try a couple of the recipes. I will be requesting my library to purchase this book and buying a copy for myself.

The cutest ramen how to around!
Gorgeous recipes, easily explained with the most adorable illustrations!
Normally in a cook book I’ll find a handful of recipes I’d care to give a go but this has something I’d love to make on nearly every page, highly recommend!

I love this book, it’s absolutely adorable and the recipes are easy to follow!! I love that it covers every aspect of making ramen!!! 😋 thank you NetGalley for letting me check it out!!!!

I forgot to mention, pages 70-71 are upside down!!!! The pages with Egg Drop Ramen and Furikake Salmon Ramen. I would fix that, but it also might just be a NetGalley app problem? A few pages are wonky

But it wouldn’t stop me from using this cookbook!

*Kawaii Café Ramen* by Amy Kimoto-Kahn is a delightful mix of culinary expertise and pure kawaii-style charm. If you’re a ramen lover—or even just ramen-curious—this book will feel like a warm, comforting bowl of broth for your soul. From start to finish, it’s clear that the author doesn’t just love ramen; she *adores* it, and her passion shines through every page.

The structure of the book is a huge win. It breaks down the art of ramen into approachable steps, guiding you from creating flavorful soup bases to crafting bowls tailored to your taste. Whether you’re a ramen novice or a kitchen pro, there’s something for everyone here, with clear instructions, portion sizes, and even skill-level indicators to help you navigate the recipes.

The variety is impressive, too! From traditional pork and chicken bowls to inventive creations like Indonesian Coconut Curry Ramen and even breakfast ramen (hello, bacon and poached egg!), there’s no shortage of inspiration. I especially appreciated the vegetarian options, which felt just as thoughtful and satisfying as the meat-based recipes.

But let’s talk about the design—because wow, it’s *adorable*. The anime-style illustrations are vibrant and playful, making this book as fun to look at as it is to cook from. It has that kawaii energy that makes you want to display it front and center on your bookshelf (or kitchen counter). It’s the kind of cookbook that’s as much about the experience as it is about the food.

If I had one minor critique, it’s that some of the recipes might feel ambitious for absolute beginners—but the book’s friendly tone and clear instructions help make even the most complex bowls feel achievable. And honestly, experimenting with ramen is part of the fun.

*Kawaii Café Ramen* is more than just a cookbook; it’s a celebration of ramen culture wrapped in an irresistibly cute package. Perfect for ramen enthusiasts or anyone who wants to bring a bit of joy and creativity into their kitchen.

This is a cookbook that makes ramen fun!
You can feel the author's passion for creating different ramen bowls, soups, and toppings throughout the pages with easy-to-follow recipes and guides, but also with tips and tricks to make your own perfect bowl and sides.

Such an incredibly well written recipe book.
The recipes are easy to follow and the steps are broken down in each sections as well as the various components that make up a good Ramen dish.
Also the artwork is so cute and captivating! I really enjoyed this recipe book and I may just purchase one for myself when they're available to buy! Definitely worth it.

This book is exactly what the description and title say. It was a delight from cover to cover, filled with beautiful and cute illustrations, and packed full of great information. Fair warning, you will be hungry while reading. I can’t wait to try a bunch of these recipes and I know of lots of friends who would love to get a copy of this book as a present. I’m also going to need to get a physical copy for referencing in the kitchen while cooking.

The design of the book is absolutely gorgeous and super kawaii hahaha.

The recipes look well explained while mantaining it relatively simple. I like the fact that it includes not only the size of the dish and expected time of preparation but also the level of difficulty. If I ever want to try my hand at ramen I know what recipes to start with. I also really like the fact that it teaches how to prepare all parts of the ramen, from the soup to the side dishes to eat it with.

It's also very nice that the author not only included the traditional/most common recipes but also some of her own inventions, because it helps visualize what kind of stuff you can add or interchange in your own ramen as someone that doesn't live in japan nor has the same ingredients they have (or not as readily available)

A very colourful and beautifully illustrated cookbook! Not sure if I’ll personally attempt the recipes. But it certainly does motivate me to try. Especially the slow roasted tomato and miso spinach chilled ramen. It was something I haven’t seen too often. I also really like the inclusion of side dishes as well.

It's hard to give this anything but five stars because the layout and illustrations are wonderful, the instructions are user-friendly while also being detailed and the overall tone is very inviting. I'd easily gift this to someone who enjoys ramen.
The broth recipes seem very complex to me, but I imagine they turn out deliciously. I'm not sure anyone with small children would have the time to spend on them. The different kinds of ramen are interesting and a nice combination of traditional and non-traditional.
Too bad it isn't available yet to give as a gift for the holidays!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. But I got really hungry reading it!

This novel has such good imagery that it makes reading a cookbook interesting! I moved recently to a smaller area where ramen restaurants are hard to find and I was so excited when this popped up! The recipes are easy to read and they are presented in a friendly beginner way, I will definitely be picking this up in a hard copy as soon as it is released.

I'm a ramen beginner and this book gives great tip and easy explanations that I can use myself! Will absolutely try as many recipes as I can!

Good cookbook. Not sure how your supposed to rate a cookbook, lol!

There are some really good and detailed instructions, which I think is KEY! This cookbook breaks down the various elements that construct a good bowl of ramen and teaches you how to actually construct a proper dish (instead of just following a single recipe for a single result) and so I think that it is incredibly useful. I can see actually learning a lot from this book.

There are no pictures. Maybe this is just an advanced-copy thing, but from the current layout im not sure how they would add pictures. This is disappointing, as pictures go a long way in a recipe book and are also useful to show you what you’re trying to achieve.

Despite the lack of photos, the detailed instructions and the way that this book is organized means I’m giving it 5-stars.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a free ARC. This honest review was left voluntarily.
