The book is useful for everyone with or without pain, but especially those who are overweight or obese with pain; there are multiple levels or modifications and examples of ways to conquer the issues at hand. Dr. Tatta delivers an incredible amount of insight that only those who are mindful AND have incredible body awareness and experience would be able to appreciate and verbalize. Most notable is the explanation of how pain is an output of the brain. Understanding how our thoughts, emotions, context, and history affects our pain experience provides direction for effective treatment. The book clearly guides through settling the nervous system, retraining the brain, healing digestive function, using food as medicine, and using gentle graded movement to reduce pain.
Written by Dr. Joe Tatta, who is a licensed doctor of physical therapy, certified clinical nutritionist and functional medicine practitioner, I was intrigued to see his take on pain. With more people looking at healthier alternatives to drugs, Dr. Tatta has given a clear-cut roadmap for individuals who would like to go the healthier route.
I grabbed it from Net Galley when I saw it up for grabs and needless to say, I absolutely loved it! This book is written well, with detailed information to help anyone dealing with pain.

If you personally deal with chronic pain, or someone you know is dealing with it, you can learn how to live life pain-free. Isn't that great? I absolutely loved the detailed list of ingredients to avoid, possibly direct and indirect sources, ideal foods to eat and also a meal plan ... this book gives us information to come up with a workable plan to deal with pain the right way.

A very informative book about how food can cause and also heal your pain and help you lose weight. This book contains a lot of new information that was explained in a way that I had not previously read. The book goes into detail about how the body reacts to food and also non food items like stress and exercise. There re food plans depending on your medical conditions, I would recommend this book to any one that is looking for answers on how to deal with their pain. I will say the food plans depend on eliminating certain foods that cause inflammation and suggest healthy options to eat instead.
