An informative read and all aimed at helping to create a more supple and flexible body. Definitely worth picking up and getting tips from it.
As a physically disabled person my thanks to Net Galley and the author for this chance to read this wonderful definitive exercise book.
This is step-by-step instructions and along with the corresponding pictures, this book features forty-eight therapeutic exercises anyone can do in a few minutes a .day. The emphasis is on slow and easy movements and stretching your body. If you suffer from joint pain, have arthritis , Fibro , are a senior with mobility issues, have not been exercising and or are disabled physically these exercises are both helpful to your pain level as well as good for you ., I found them very therapeutic and will incorporate them into my daily routine.
I thank the author with gratitude. The neck exercises are very helpful to me.
Useful for rehabilitation, mobility restoring, decrease chronic pain!
I spend many hours sitting in front of the computer, and although I do daily Qigong and exercise, there are times that have body ache. In my youth I suffered a motorcycle accident and since then I have chronic pain in my neck and waist.
This book has been very illustrative for me, with simple movements I can mobilize my entire spine and relax my waist, neck and shoulders, and get rid of the pain! I am constantly looking to improve my quality of life and this book has provided me with valuable information to develop more health and body awareness.
In addition to the aforementioned benefits, mobility also plays a part in the development of intelligence, maintains brain health and delays the onset of conditions such as Azhaimer, memory loss. We are creatures that evolve in movement and another gift that you get from practicing the undulation movement is a generalized pleasant sensation!
It is a book suitable for health professionals and all people, whether they are only interested in sustaining their physical health, or who have pain due to injuries, age, sedentary lifestyle, a job that requires spending a lot of time sitting or standing, ... excellent for regaining joint mobility!
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book

I received a copy of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I found Undulation: Relieve Stiffness and Feel Young to be a great resource for gentle exercise / stretching to help those who may have lost flexibility or mobility. The stretches are easily done, and instruction is detailed. I also found it to be an informative tool for analyzing what's going on with your muscles, and helpful in deciding which exercises to do for the best outcome. I will be recommending this to all of my patients.
Very useful self help kind of book. It really has helped me with stress relief.
Interesting version of various movements and poses to increase flexibility and strength. Especially good for seniors. Clear illustrations help understanding.
An easier gentler version of yoga for those of us whose bodies are winding down.
As with all self-help books, be it mental or physical, the first part tries to convince you why you need this. Some of them are actually well-pointed, such as the difference between pain caused by regular physical labor and internal injury. There’s also the difference between small and large movements, as well as an explanation as to who really is in charge, the mind or the body. One line really made me laugh: eels have powerful strong cores, because that’s all they have. Eels can’t fall back on arms and legs.
Obviously it takes a while to feel the effects and benefits of any physical regimen, so I can’t tell you how successful this is yet, but I can recommend this book just for the names of the exercises, some of which genuinely made me laugh out loud:
Hip hiker—Octopus—Paint your head with the floor—Follow the music—Tailbone penmanship—Coffee grinder—Caressed by waves—Barber pole—Tree tops—Train cars—Speed bump—Inchworm—Snake charmer—Tornado.
There’s an appendix that lists the exercises alphabetically.
