Ciara Kelly makes a compelling return in book two of The Mindsight Series. As a string of teenage girls vanishes in one of Manhattan's opulent neighborhoods, Ciara discerns chilling parallels between these recent abductions and her own traumatic experience a few years earlier. Detective Nanos seeks her unique insights, asking her to examine the latest victim's body and share her impressions. As Ciara becomes increasingly entangled in the investigation, word spreads that she is assisting the police, unwittingly drawing the attention of the relentless kidnapper towards her. Unseen dangers loom as Ciara unwittingly becomes the focus of the sinister forces at play. This is a riveting thriller that explores the aftermath of trauma and the resilience of the human spirit.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review the advance copy of this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book. This was an excellent read.
Thoroughly recommended
Almost unbearably suspenseful and filled with the paranormal. I have not read the first book but must do so now. I highly recommend!
Many thanks to Lansen Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
A pretty good read even though I'm not the biggest fan of paranormal. The writing was superb and kept my attention throughout. I believe I'll read another novel by this author.
Page turner, storyline is well written and moves right along. This author knows how to write a novel that keeps you guessing
And wanting more
Having read this book, i shall be wanting to read more in this series. A great mystery and one that i didn't guess. I always enjoy books that have plenty of twists and turns, and this was one such book. So glad that i read this book, but may i add that if i saw this in the bookstore, i would have bypassed it.
My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy. This is my honest review.
Loved the first book and the second is better. Ciara is back, still recovering fromt he physical and emotional scars of her ordeal with the cutter. Her new found ability is both disturbing and incredibly difficult to ignore. When she learns she has a half sister taken by the east side killer she is compelled to use her ability to assist the police. The characters continue to gain depth and complexity. Cant wait for the next one!
I can't say that I enjoyed this book. It was for the most part boring and juvenile. I doubt that I would read anything else by this author.
It's been four long years since Ciara lived, instead of being another dead victim of the Cutter. She bears the scars, yes, but the emotional ones are always harder. She now has a new gift, or maybe it's a curse to her. Ciara can't stop seeing things. Now if she can get someone to listen to her, and not lose herself in the obsession of catching this new killer, her life might be sudo-normal. Again, an excellent read and strong sequel! I do hope there is another book coming in this series.
My copy came from Net Galley. My thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is left of my own free volition.
A very engaging, thrilling read. Once I started reading, it was hard to put down. I was guessing until the very end. Lots of twists and turns, suspenseful.
This is a well written thriller that keeps you guessing up to the very end. If you like suspense do yourself a favor and read this you won't be disappointed.
This is the second book in the series and now I am anxious for the third book, but I have no idea when that will be out yet. Ciara is still recovering from her ordeal with The Cutter, the serial killer. The torture has left physical scars as well as the emotional ones. She is afraid of intimacy, of letting anyone see the scars. She helps the police from the sidelines in their search for the East Side Killer. Ciara discovers she has a half sister, who is kidnapped by the ESK. The book has lots of action and great suspense.
The sequel to Domovitch's Scar Tissue, Seeing Evil picks up a few months later. Ciara Kelly is still haunted by memories of The Cutter and how he almost killed her, but is determined to take control of her life again. Through weekly group therapy appointments, she's beginning to feel normal. Then the East Side Killer strikes again, causing Ciara to become even more paranoid. But she believes she can help the police through her unusual psychic-like abilities, if only they weren't so quick to write her off as a charlatan. Just like the first book in this series, Seeing Evil holds a break-neck pace throughout the entire novel, keeping you on your toes in an attempt to track down a serial killer before the cops catch him, or before he strikes again. This novel also continues to develop Ciara as a character and enhances the roles of a few secondary characters from the first novel.
Loved this. Wanted to stay home from work to keep reading!
This is the second Mindsight novel and it is every bit as good as the first one, Scar Tissue. Great psychological thriller with just a hint of paranormal. Great characters and it kept me guessing until the very end.
I liked this book as much as the first if not more. Never saw the end coming. This book keeps you guessing on whether her memory would come back. If you like fast paced books this is a must h ave.
In the second of the Mindsight series, Ciara Kelly has moved to New York, where she has bought a condo and works for the Fairfield Funeral Home, but her scars still cause her torment. Her psychiatrist is vehement that, because of her PTSD, Ciara must stay away from anything that will remind her of her ordeal. But Ciara becomes obsessed with an ongoing case of a serial killer targeting teenage girls. Soon, she becomes determined to help the police catch this killer. But when Ciara begins to suspect who the killer might be, and the police dismiss her hunch, she finds herself in mortal danger.

I fell in love with the character of Ciara Kelly. She has some issues since her abduction a few years ago. Regardless she is doing her best to get on with her life and to help others if possible with her ability to see the last moments of a person's life.
I also really enjoyed Detective Nemos who is willing to look beyond the obvious and accept Ciara's help to stop this killer who is targeting teenage girls. If only all detectives would put aside society's beliefs to catch a killer.
Wow! SEEING EVIL is a well written suspense that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats. And I have to admit that I didn't even realize that this was the second book in this series until I went to grab the blurb for this review. Kudos to the author for doing such a great job on this book that it stands all on its own merits.
I really think that my readers who enjoy a good thriller should check out SEEING EVIL. I know that I am looking forward to the next book in the Ciara Kelly saga.
*** I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within are my own.
Very enjoyable read, the pages keep turning. I liked the main character, Ciara. It was cool that she had an extra sensory power, but it didn't go so far as to be ridiculous. The story has the right balance of suspense and forensics, with a little romance thrown in.
I was thrilled to receive a copy of this book as I had just finished Scar Tissue, the 1st book in this Mindsight series and really enjoyed it! In this book, Ciara is still getting her life together after almost losing her life to a serial killer, then her sister died leaving her without any family to speak of. I love how brave, yet vulnerable Ciara is and I think the way she can touch people after they have passed and see what happened in their final moments is very creative and heightens the suspense in these books. This story was a real page turner and I am looking forward to the next book in this series! I highly recommend both books in this series! (les
Seeing Evil by M C Domovitch is a mystery and thriller and general fiction (adult) read.
Ciara Kelly returns in M.C. Domovitch's latest must-read thriller. When teenage girls start disappearing in one of Manhattan's most affluent neighborhood, Ciara notices the similarities between these kidnappings and her own of a few years ago. When Detective Nanos asks her to see the body of the latest victim and give her impressions, Ciara is drawn into the case and word gets out that she is helping the police. Unbeknown to her, the killer's focus turns to her.
OMG. This is an absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters. Just couldn't put it down. Ciara is still my favourite character. Full of twists. I really didn't see that coming. You think you know who it is and then she twists it. Fantastic. I love this series. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. Definitely worth more than 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.
