Great book! It is the second in a series (I have not read the first one yet) and hopefully there will be more in the series. This book was well-written with good characters. The storyline was good, too. It was was a fast read for me, as I read it in one sitting - I did not want to put it down. I highly recommend this thriller!

This was a great roller-coaster ride of a mystery! When Ciara escapes from her kidnapper and ends up in a coma and awakens with amnesia, everyone assumes her memory will not return. But the kidnapper isn't finished yet and his evil nature threatens both family and unsuspecting victims. Running from virtually everyone, Ciara doesn't know who to trust...and we don't either until the very last page! Full of suspense, it may keep you up into the night!

Ciara makes another appearance, four years after her abduction and torture and near death in SCAR TISSUE (BK 1).

She is still seeing a therapist as the panic attacks and nightmares continue. Her relationship with David is on hold for now ... she doesn't want him to see her scars .. the ugly words that were cut into her skin.

She has a small scar on her brain, and that has caused Ciara a 'gift'. When she touches the flesh of a dead person, she can see the last few minutes of that person's life. She's still not sure if it is a gift or a curse.

Now living and working in New York City, a new serial killer is making the news. Young blonde teenage girls are being abducted .. but not for ransom. They are held for days, even weeks, while the killer slowly bleeds them to death.

Ciara knows she shouldn't, but she calls one of the detectives that worked her case. These killings in so many ways are very much like what happened to her. She wants to help even though her therapist has warned her not to get involved.

In helping the police, more people will learn what her secret is .... but will this help identify the killer? Will the killer set his eyes on Ciara and make her a victim again?

This is a terrific follow up to SCAR TISSUE. The characters are solidly written. I really liked that Ciara speaks more about what's going on in her head. David is a good match for her. He's willing to wait even though her obsession over scars doesn't bother him at all. And I really loved how he proved this to her. Cynthia Nanos, as the detective who believes in Ciara's talent is tenacious, and willing to do what it takes to solve this case... even if it means the end of her career.

There is no hint of other books to follow, but I do hope to see more in the future.

Many thanks to the author / Lansen Publishing / Netgalley for the digital copy of this novel. The opinion expressed here is unbiased and entirely my own.

Teenage girls are disappearing in an affluent Manhattan's neighborhood and Ciara Kelly and Detective Nanos are drawn in to figure it all out. Great mystery from beginning to end.

Ciara has settled in to a new life in New York, working her cosmetic magic at the Fairfield Funeral Home, buying a condo and making a real life for herself. She has NOT, however, accepted the scars that cover her body with their vile words. With so many cutting edge procedures, maybe it’s time to do something about them, to erase the hate that has been carved into her skin. Still undergoing psychiatric help, she has been warned to avoid all triggers that could cause her PTSD to rear its ugly head.

When a serial killer starts targeting teen girls, Ciara can’t help but be drawn to helping find this monster before more girls are found dead and mutilated. When a young model bears an uncanny resemblance to Ciara, they strike up a friendship that causes Ciara to feel fear for this young beauty, who truly seems like blood, as opposed to a new acquaintance.

The unthinkable happens and Ciara will risk her very life to stop this monster, including seeing suspects in almost everyone she meets. Has she gotten drawn in too deep? Will her mental health deteriorate or will she find the answers she needs from the touch of one of the victims? When Ciara least expects it, she receives a shock from the past and a gift she can forever cherish, if she can move fast enough.

Suspense, a paranormal gift and the race against time, it’s all there as Ciara once again searches for a needle in the haystack of horrors. M.C. Domovitch is a powerful writer who knows how to set the hook and reel her readers into each scene she creates. SEEING EVIL has that special touch of energy that never bogs down and never follows a linear path to an easy ending. I read to be entertained, I don’t need over-the-top heroines or heroes, but I do need strong writing and world building that keeps me hanging on every page and that is exactly what has happened here. A true to life character, a far too realistic crime spree and mystery that is NOT easy to unravel!

I received this copy from Lansen Publishing in exchange for my honest review.

Seeing Evil by M C Domovitch is a mystery and thriller and general fiction (adult) read.
Ciara Kelly returns in M.C. Domovitch's latest must-read thriller. When Detective Nanos asks her to see the body of the latest victim and give her impressions, Ciara is drawn into the case and word gets out that she is helping the police. OMG. This is an absolutely fantastic read with brilliant characters. Just couldn't put it down. Ciara is still my favourite character. Full of twists. I really didn't see that coming. You think you know who it is and then she twists it. Fantastic. I love this series. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. Definitely worth more than 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.

In the second of the Mindsight series, Ciara Kelly has moved to New York, where she has bought a condo and works for the Fairfield Funeral Home, but her scars still cause her torment. Her psychiatrist is vehement that, because of her PTSD, Ciara must stay away from anything that will remind her of her ordeal. But Ciara becomes obsessed with an ongoing case of a serial killer targeting teenage girls. Soon, she becomes determined to help the police catch this killer. But when Ciara begins to suspect who the killer might be, and the police dismiss her hunch, she finds herself in mortal danger.

I fell in love with the character of Ciara Kelly. She has some issues since her abduction a few years ago. Regardless she is doing her best to get on with her life and to help others if possible with her ability to see the last moments of a person's life.

I also really enjoyed Detective Nemos who is willing to look beyond the obvious and accept Ciara's help to stop this killer who is targeting teenage girls. If only all detectives would put aside society's beliefs to catch a killer.

Wow! SEEING EVIL is a well written suspense that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats. And I have to admit that I didn't even realize that this was the second book in this series until I went to grab the blurb for this review. Kudos to the author for doing such a great job on this book that it stands all on its own merits.

I really think that my readers who enjoy a good thriller should check out SEEING EVIL. I know that I am looking forward to the next book in the Ciara Kelly saga.

I was thrilled to receive a copy of this book as I had just finished Scar Tissue, the 1st book in this Mindsight series and really enjoyed it! In this book, Ciara is still getting her life together after almost losing her life to a serial killer, then her sister died leaving her without any family to speak of. I love how brave, yet vulnerable Ciara is and I think the way she can touch people after they have passed and see what happened in their final moments is very creative and heightens the suspense in these books. This story was a real page turner and I am looking forward to the next book in this series! I highly recommend both books in this series! (les

This is the second book in the series and now I am anxious for the third book, but I have no idea when that will be out yet. Ciara is still recovering from her ordeal with The Cutter, the serial killer. The torture has left physical scars as well as the emotional ones. She is afraid of intimacy, of letting anyone see the scars. She helps the police from the sidelines in their search for the East Side Killer. Ciara discovers she has a half sister, who is kidnapped by the ESK. The book has lots of action and great suspense.

This is a well written thriller that keeps you guessing up to the very end. If you like suspense do yourself a favor and read this you won't be disappointed.

It's been four long years since Ciara lived, instead of being another dead victim of the Cutter. She bears the scars, yes, but the emotional ones are always harder. She now has a new gift, or maybe it's a curse to her. Ciara can't stop seeing things. Now if she can get someone to listen to her, and not lose herself in the obsession of catching this new killer, her life might be sudo-normal. Again, an excellent read and strong sequel! I do hope there is another book coming in this series.

My copy came from Net Galley. My thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is left of my own free volition.

Loved the first book and the second is better. Ciara is back, still recovering fromt he physical and emotional scars of her ordeal with the cutter. Her new found ability is both disturbing and incredibly difficult to ignore. When she learns she has a half sister taken by the east side killer she is compelled to use her ability to assist the police. The characters continue to gain depth and complexity. Cant wait for the next one!
