Maybe the Baby is about a family of dogs with a pregnant owner, who worry that once the baby comes they will be left behind. The book has gentle watercolor illustrations with humorous accents. It will be a great read for discussing fears about a new baby with an older sibling and to reassure them that the new baby will not replace them.

This book talks about the dogs in the family and what they go through when they sense that someone new is coming into the family who might possibly dethrone them. The dogs here are very insecure. They imagine a number of circumstance where they might be left alone with the attention being shifted to someone else. Their sofa and evening walks seem to be taken away from them. And then comes the reality. The cute illustrations in the book take all the attention away from the story.

I thought that this book is probably what does go through the head of a dog or cat when a new baby is brought home, it was easy to read and follow, just wasn't a fan at all of the illustrations.

I have a friend who will absolutely love “Maybe the Baby.” Some of the writing was a little clunky, but that didn’t take away from its charm.

I received this ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.
I very cute book about three dogs who have concerns about their owner having a baby. They become concerned about their couch, their treats and their walks. What if the new baby preferred cats. They get more and more worried, then one day the baby comes home and it isn't so bad after all.

This is a cute book about a trio of dogs who panic when they find out that mom is having a baby. They imagine that everything will go wrong. Maybe the Baby will like the cats better etc. Of course when the baby comes, it turns out all their worrying was for naught. What a great little story for children who are worried about mom's and dad's attention when the new baby arrives. I really liked this story and my grandson did as well. He thought the dogs were pretty silly. He has a 6 month old baby sister and we were able to equate that to the story. The illustrations were done in muted colours with cute drawings, almost dreamlike. A good book for family libraries.

This was a lovely book. It’s a dog's point of view about having a new baby in the house. Of course they are worried. Things will change, but will it be fun? Will they get annoyed? Will they have to go live with the neighbor mouse. It’s an adorable rhyming story. I love the interior pictures, but feel the cover needs work. I can not explain why, just that I think it does.
