Hot romance.
Be careful of any deal you make.
Lessons may be taught and learnt, but who is the teacher and who is the student of this very hot romance. The outcome is not what was agreed.
Shorter novel, very steamy!! Tessa believes in love, and passion, and is devastated when she finds her betrothed in the arms of another woman. She decides to ask Nicolo to train her in the art of love. Their romance actually is becomes very sweet, but still steamy!
Tessa decides to learn the art of seduction from Nicolo to please the husband her father chooses for her but gets more than she bargained for. This is a fast-paced historical read, the story is entertaining and has plenty of steam.
certainly a unique plot. the writing was very good. Thanks!
This book just gave me a headache. Tessa turns to Nicolo, who is twenty years her senior, to learn the art of seduction. They both set strict conditions concerning the nature of their relationship which is really supposed to be more like a business transaction. These "conditions" seem to never exist as the story progresses. Nicolo's lessons are confusing. It seems like all of the characters talk in circles. I've read novellas where the characters are well developed despite the shortness of the story; this was not the case for Training Tessa. The actions of the characters seem to contradict the way the author paints them to be in the beginning of the story. The conflict that gets resolved was so convoluted by dialogue that it just didn't make sense to me. I'm so confused and annoyed by this novella that I'm not even sure this review makes sense.
Publisher's Description:
Meretessa Brexiano believes in love. Her heart yearns for a true bond with the man she weds. She also believes she can change her fate. Refusing the marriage her father has arranged, she strikes a bargain with a man she hopes can teach her the art of seduction. Nicolo da Parma is a businessman with a reputation as a connoisseur of women. Their sensuality is the palette he has painted on since his youth. This time, however, he may have struck a bargain which costs more than he planned. Training Tessa might be the greatest challenge to his own heart Nicolo's ever had.
My Thoughts:
I enjoyed reading this sensual novella. It's sensuality without being overtly sexual is a rather refreshing concept.
Meretessa is the daughter of a wealthy merchant who finds the groom her father has chosen for her to be abhorrent. She decides to approach a man who has the reputation of being a connoisseur of women to teach her what it takes to make her future husband want her and for her to also enjoy the experience.
Nicolo finds his student a bit more enticing than he bargained for.
This is a quick read and I found Meretessa's innocence to be the catalyst in this story. The fact that she is a rather adept student makes this story go from unbelievable to a very enticing tale.
I gave this novella a 4.25 of 5 stars for storyline and characterization. The sensual rating gets 4.5 of 5 flames. It is a very sensual tale.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this title from the publisher via NetGalley to read and review.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book.
This is a somewhat sensual novel. The plot involves seduction and temptation. Meretessa Brexiano wants a marriage with someone who she loves. Her father wants her betrothed to one of his business partners. Tessa sees his doing exotic things to another woman, which upsets her since she craves passion. Nicolo da Parma is a businessman who has a reputation of teaching woman to be great lovers. Tessa asks him to teach her. At first Nicolo is not sure he wants to take on this assignment, but agrees with stipulations. Tessa travels to his home where he begins to teach her the art of seduction. Tessa is frustrated at first and does not understand Nicolo's purpose. However, she becomes a very adept pupil. Nicolo begins to crave Tessa in ways he has not experienced before. Tessa eventually reaizes she loves Nicolo but Nicolo does not want marriage and believes in passion but not love. There words hurt each other, but they both realize this is a battlefield. If you want to win, to have to be willing to make your own demands and outsmart the other.
Honest review in return for reading this ARC. I am going to keep this review short and to the point. Most women do not understand what they have available to them. This story allows an opportunity to delve into their own selves. Sensuality, as old as time and often undervalued.
