A super interesting premise, but I'm not sure that it was quite the one for me.
3.5 out of 5 stars, rounded up to four.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced reading copy.

I personally don't like to be yelled at I like to feel seen. and by yelled at I mean criticized. her tone isn't mean like some women in this genre but from the title you can tell she thinks you did something wrong. do I agree with her? maybe haha
While I appreciated the variety of stories and experiences in this book, I didn't feel that the comics honestly added much to the reading experience. An interesting concept, but it didn't have much of a re-read value and the topic makes it difficult to recommend to friends or family.

This could have just been a blog post. It was drawn-out and I didn't find it funny. I didn't feel any emotions reading the stories. The illustrations were alright but they weren't enough to carry the whole book. Not for me.
I got a few chuckles from this one, but it just wasn't as funny as I had hoped it would be. It was a quick read and if you're someone just getting over a break up, it may hold more interest, but for me it was just okay.
There were definitely some funny things in this book, but overall it felt a bit lacking in content. It felt more like a blog entry than a novel, although I understand that the form was a little unusual. That normally draws me in, but that just wasn't the case here.
I remember reading this not very long after a breakup, and it really resonated with me. Reading stories of fellow heartbroken people honestly helped me through a rough time. I also liked the illustration style. 5/5
Hilarious, embarrassing and heart rending stories of real life break ups. This will make you laugh and cry and feel better about anything that's happened to you!!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed the graphic novel a lot!
I would like to thank the publisher for giving me a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
the book has many histories about breaking up, some very sad and others are unbelievable.
is a good book.
I was interested by the idea but I grew bored as I continued reading. It's a shame because I thought I would really like it.

Overall, this book was not as funny as I had expected. There were a few stories that made me chuckle but not many.
This was pretty funny and entertaining. This book contains may people's break up stories. Most were funny, some were pretty messed up but for the most part a quick and easy thing to read.
I adored this! Very funny although (horrifically) very relatable. The drawings are wonderful and the submissions are not as predicts as I thought they would be
Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author for letting me have this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I found this book to be funny. cute, warm and so relatable. Short stories make it easy to read and enjoy. I look forward to more books from this author. I enjoyed the drawings a lot. Even though subject of the book can be sad (I went through a breakup many years ago and cried a lot over it), I laughed a lot reading this book.
1.5/5 Stars.
Nope. No, no thank you. I was hoping for something funny, maybe even uplifting at times—I find people often speak fondly of people they once loved, even when speaking of the ends of relationships, and I've always found that lovely. Not every breakup is like that, obviously, so And I imagine therein lies my problem. I think I expected somewhere in these pages something sad but nostalgic, tinged with the sort of fond heartache I associate with breakups in general.
Instead, I just found it mildly painful to read. I can see how it would appeal, I can see a tease of humor here and there, but ultimately I just didn't find the people telling most of these stories likable, I didn't connect to the people or the humor. Either they did the dumping and were just kind of terrible about it, or they were dumped, and I pitied them and felt horribly uncomfortable reading the stories. I personally didn't find it relatable or funny, but I did feel all at once sad, irritated, and weirdly invasive. They were anonymously and freely given, yet several times I felt kind of skeevy for being privy to these personal pains.
I will say I appreciate was Campbell was trying for here. This started out as me crying on a freeway overpass in Brooklyn, moping around for some time, and thinking I'd better draw about this. Sure, I can understand wanting to make sense of something like a breakup. It's always difficult when a relationship ends and, for a lot of people, a collection of funny breakup stories is just what they need to come to terms with things. I wasn't the person this was written for.
Those 1.5 stars were hard-earned. The illustrations were fine. In fact, many were cute. I liked them well enough to not resent the one star I'm required to leave. The formatting on my Kindle Touch was a bit off with them, though. They'd disrupt the middle of a sentence and would throw off the spacing, but since I quickly realized I was more interested in the drawings than I was the stories, I stopped minding pretty quickly. There were a couple of moments in the stories that made me go, "Eh, fine. Half a star." It is a fast book, quick to read. It just wasn't for me, but I acknowledge that there were many reviews from people who liked and even loved the book. It didn't work for me, maybe it will for some other broken heart.
Thank you muchly to NetGalley and Animal Media Group for this free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute concept overall and most of the stories were funny. However, the format is completely out of wack if you're reading it as an ebook. Everything was jammed together and you'd start reading a new story while thinking you were still reading the previous one. It was a mess. If it had a proper layout I probably would've rated it higher.
This book wasn't that funny. Any relationship reddit could have more crazy stories than that. I was expecting more.
When I was teenager there use to be an "embarrassing moments" page at the end of Seventeen magazine. And many stories were about someone breaking up with someone in a horrifying way.
This book was reminiscent of that, it reminded me of a section from a teens magazine.
But that's what it was suppose to be I guess, A fast read of having your heart broken in awful ways.
The drawings following the stories is what did it for me.
My understanding is that this book stemmed from the artist having her heart broken and drawing a cartoon about it and feeling better. So this must have been a very cathartic process for her. And I'm glad because they were the best part of the book. The stories were entertaining, but the drawings were my favorite.
