A good read, very poignant story line.

This book was not for me. I'm not a fan of such a chaotic writing style. While it's a genre I enjoy, this book was not. Sorry.

The sequel to “The Marine” is another superbly written story about loyalty, commitment, love and friendship. What a journey we, readers, make with this wonderful character Joshua Caven, and his “band of brothers” (that, I assume, also include his girls and the rest of the people who gravitate around this close-knit group).
I missed seeing more of Joe Kinlaw and Grace and I really hope this series will continue.

I really tried to like this book and just couldn't get into it. I think I was really missing descriptions of things. I read more than 75% through the book and I really couldn't tell you what any of the characters looked like. While I felt like Josh was a character with a lot of potential, it just wasn't there. I had no idea of what he looked like physically. Danny's situation with his brother and Emerald just all became convoluted. The character I seemed to like most was Sandra Kay. This was a character that I could at least visualize and also, she had definite personality.

Also, having never read any of this author's prior books there were just too many characters to keep straight. Due to the fact that I didn't have a lot of background on these characters, I didn't fully understand how they were all interwoven.

I do think that this book should definitely not be read as a standalone. It seems like the prior book is really necessary.

"A Marine does his duty, no matter what."

Well, "no matter what" can change rather soon when there's love and women involved. Oh, and don't forget Killer, he might change some things as well.
When Danny receives a letter by his dog and Josh has to save Chris' life, their lives are very soon changed upside down. Alright, an encounter with some hostiles that goes horribly wrong plays a part in that as well, leaving two of them at the hospital fighting to get their lives back and one of them, well, he's battling himself and his conscience.
Josh's family is just wonderful, I really loved to read about Grace and her amazing daughters and well, then there is his mother, His very loud and very determined mother who is not very charming or sweet but who is his mother and who tries to help him in her own somewhat rough way. I loved the way Grace and her daughters embrace those around them and make them feel like they are a part of the family.
Ms. Eades, who took in Killer or George Tucker...oh, or Killer George, when Danny's former girlfriend just up and left while Danny was deployed, is another amazing character. Ah, you know, Killer, the "letter-writing" dog? I loved to see how Danny and Ms. Eades get to know each other and how she helped him find his way.
Then there's "Muley", Lance Corporal Cassandra Murphy, who is always there when Josh needs her and who, well, who might be a bit more important to him.
Chris made a mistake and he will do everything to help the man who rescued him even after everything he did.
Somewhat grudgingly those two get to know each other and watch out for each other, some experiences are just too much, too intense to ignore them and the bond formed when you save someone's life? Well, that's a very strong one, believe me.

I loved all those amazing, complex characters, I loved the twists and turns that kept me glued to my reader because I just had to know what happened next and I loved this whole feeling of watching out for others, of caring for others, of helping those who need it and ob being there for each other.
"Band of Brothers" is a wonderful book with a complex story and wonderful that I really enjoyed. It was my first book by this author but definitely not my last.

Band Of Brothers is a great story, I am so glad I took the chance with a new to me author Cheryl Reavis. A Standalone sequel to The Marine this is a heartfelt story the captured me early and had me invested in each of the characters and their stories. This is definitely one author that I will be reading more of.
