Description
No man left behind . . .
Marine Sergeant Joshua Caven
Josh finally has his shattered personal life in some kind of order. He has found the family he never knew he had, and thanks to them, he can do his duty and complete his deployment in Afghanistan, knowing his baby daughter is safe. It should be smooth sailing . . . until Chris Young—the living, breathing reason his wife abandoned him and their baby—is assigned to his unit.
Corporal Danny Benton
Danny knows the Marine Corps basically saved his life, but he still feels guilty for joining—escaping—and leaving his younger brother to deal with their alcoholic father. But there’s nothing he can do except be the best Marine he can be and to come home and marry his girl. He has no reason to think she won’t wait for him—until a Dear John letter arrives.
Hospital Corpsman Chris Young
It’s hard enough to be a sand sailor working with a group of Marines, but when his unit is headed up by the man he unwittingly betrayed, it definitely gets uncomfortable. Then an encounter with local hostiles goes horribly wrong and both men are wounded. And while Chris’s wounds aren’t serious, the guilt is eating him up. Because his Sergeant is in the hospital, fighting for his life. All because he saved Chris’s . . .
A Marine does his duty, no matter what. But what none of them expects is to have their upended lives suddenly made even more complicated by . . . love.

"A Marine does his duty, no matter what."
Well, "no matter what" can change rather soon when there's love and women involved. Oh, and don't forget Killer, he might change some things as well.
When Danny receives a letter by his dog and Josh has to save Chris' life, their lives are very soon changed upside down. Alright, an encounter with some hostiles that goes horribly wrong plays a part in that as well, leaving two of them at the hospital fighting to get their lives back and one of them, well, he's battling himself and his conscience.
Josh's family is just wonderful, I really loved to read about Grace and her amazing daughters and well, then there is his mother, His very loud and very determined mother who is not very charming or sweet but who is his mother and who tries to help him in her own somewhat rough way. I loved the way Grace and her daughters embrace those around them and make them feel like they are a part of the family.
Ms. Eades, who took in Killer or George Tucker...oh, or Killer George, when Danny's former girlfriend just up and left while Danny was deployed, is another amazing character. Ah, you know, Killer, the "letter-writing" dog? I loved to see how Danny and Ms. Eades get to know each other and how she helped him find his way.
Then there's "Muley", Lance Corporal Cassandra Murphy, who is always there when Josh needs her and who, well, who might be a bit more important to him.
Chris made a mistake and he will do everything to help the man who rescued him even after everything he did.
Somewhat grudgingly those two get to know each other and watch out for each other, some experiences are just too much, too intense to ignore them and the bond formed when you save someone's life? Well, that's a very strong one, believe me.
I loved all those amazing, complex characters, I loved the twists and turns that kept me glued to my reader because I just had to know what happened next and I loved this whole feeling of watching out for others, of caring for others, of helping those who need it and ob being there for each other.
"Band of Brothers" is a wonderful book with a complex story and wonderful that I really enjoyed. It was my first book by this author but definitely not my last.
Band Of Brothers is a great story, I am so glad I took the chance with a new to me author Cheryl Reavis. A Standalone sequel to The Marine this is a heartfelt story the captured me early and had me invested in each of the characters and their stories. This is definitely one author that I will be reading more of.
The sequel to “The Marine” is another superbly written story about loyalty, commitment, love and friendship. What a journey we, readers, make with this wonderful character Joshua Caven, and his “band of brothers” (that, I assume, also include his girls and the rest of the people who gravitate around this close-knit group).
I missed seeing more of Joe Kinlaw and Grace and I really hope this series will continue.
