Marin Thomas returns us to Marietta, MT, a small town of beautiful homes, friendly people, full of gossipmongers, and handsome cowboys. Sweet Home Cowboy is a fun, sweet, romance between a handsome cowboy and a visitor to the town. It is also a family bonding story between a great-grandfather and his great-granddaughter, both who were unaware of each other’s existence. Well-developed characters, a fun plot of the characters meeting by an accidental crashing of a speed-dating event, obstacles to overcome, and the blossoming romance. You are left with a more than satisfying HEA and the true love message of “When you truly love someone, you put the other person’s wants and needs before your own.” All the books in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series can be read as a standalone novel. You will have former couples and characters from each of the previous stories woven into the story and it’s fun to read them in order to see how their romances are progressing. A wonderful addition to the series and a sweet romance.

Sweet Home Cowboy really hit a sweet spot for me. I really liked Elena and Wes (previously seen as Brant's friend) is an awesome addition to the Marietta family. Judge Kingsley has been an interesting staple of the Love at the Chocolate Shop series and after some interesting tidbits about him in The Chocolate Touch I was sincerely hoping he'd get a book.
And here in Sweet Home Cowboy we do get his story. Elena, his great grandaughter, has just discovered him and she has come to Marietta to meet him. It's not all sweetness and light in this book which really makes me like it. There is a lot of heavy lifting to do, a lot of hurting heads and hearts which need mending.
As people are mended, so goes the house. As it gets transformed from rundown into beautiful, Elena and Wes and the Judge and Sandra find joy and happiness in each other. The power and beauty in this book is the love that flows all around the Judge and how, finally, he can tap into it and love back after being so afraid and angry and hurt. Even Elena's mother transforms and moves to Marietta.
This book just hit all the right notes for me. I'm holding out for Dylan and Angelica to each get stories of their own now.

This one was such a fun cute read you can't help but finish it smiling. Elena Puente comes to Marietta in spectacular fashion. First she's almost spotted on the side of the road in only her panties and bra, then she makes the five mile trek into town only to be swept up into the town's first speed dating event. Bonus to the speed dating, she meets sexy cowboy Wesley Banks. Now for the reason she came to Marietta to begin with. To meet her biological great grandfather.
This story is so cute and definitely one you want to read. I highly recommend it.

this is another addition to the series and it was a winner. The two main characters center of the grouch of the town and it all works extremely well.

Overall another fun read from Marietta, Montana. This one has young elementary school teacher Elena coming to meet her great grandfather, and meeting sexy Wes, a hunky cowboy. I like the interactions throughout, even the cranky feral cat, except a bit more on the love between Elena and Wes. A little fast for just a short time. More details would have made the hello to marriage more smooth. Other than that I liked it and highly recommend this book and author.

My impression of this book came down to its inability to capture my attention. I tried to come back to it several times, and it was really hard to finish. I think it was just too "neat", not enough conflict - Elena Puente seemed way too lackadaisical about her mom hiding letters from her father, about her grandfather being an elitist even into his 80s (I mean, he tries to tell her that Wes isn't good enough for her - and her response was that he's getting a degree. Blew right past defending Wes just being a great guy. It's okay, grandpa, he's about to be worthy). Also, after she and Wes share a kiss and the reader is about to hop on board the Wes/Elena grain, he *goes* to another *speed dating* event. What the hell? Really? I just...there were too many parts that either didn't add up or added up too well not to be fudged a bit. Needed more angst, more realism.

Sweet Home Cowboy is a very sweet book. There's nothing too complicated or convoluted with this particular title and the HEA ending leaves you with a good feeling for everyone in it. I enjoyed all of the characters in the story and really appreciated Elena's personality and spunk. She wasn't a damsel-in-distress yet she still had vulnerabilities and insecurities like the best of us. What I liked most about Elena was that she was strong minded yet had a soft heart.
All of the characters in the story were easy to read. It's hard to dislike any of them as this story was just an overall feel good novel.
There was a bit of an insta-love in the story which I generally don't like because sometimes it's written to be too sudden, and too unreal. But the way the author wrote the hero and heroine made it not as cringe-worthy or eye-rolling when it came to the instant "love".
I'd recommend this book if you want just an overall feel good book that's easy to read and easy to like all the main characters.

Elena Puente is now a teacher in Las Vegas and was raised by her single mother after her father had passed away and had thought the only family she had was the two of them. After finding out that her father’s grandfather was still living in Marietta, MT Elena just knows that she has to meet him before it’s too late so she hops on a plane during her summer break.
Unfortunately for Elena her trip gets off to a rocky start when her rental car breaks down forcing her to walk into town where she stumbles into the Copper Mountain Chocolate Shop to ask for directions. Instead of getting directions Elena finds herself in the middle of a speed dating session where she meets the handsome cowboy Wesley Banks.
Sweet Home Cowboy is the ninth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series in which each romantic read features a different couple that has some ties to the Copper Mountain Chocolate Shop located in the quaint town of Marietta, MT. Each book can be read as a standalone novel but if reading as a series you get glimpses into former couples and characters from each of the previous stories set in this charming town.
I’ve read this entire series and at this point I think the stories only keep getting better with each installment. I love catching up with all the crew at Copper Mountain Chocolates and hearing of the owner, Sage, and her new chocolate creations. The romances are always sweet and lovely and fun to watch blossom into something more and the town of Marietta never fails to toss in it’s own charm with the small town vibe. Definitely recommend reading of Elena and Wesley’s story in this latest edition of Love at the Chocolate Shop and look forward to the next story in the series.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Elena Kingsley was surprised to find out that she had a living great grandfather.
Judge Alistair Kingsley was even more surprise that he had a great granddaughter after burying what he thought was his last descendant, grandson Thane at the tender age of 18.
Wesley Banks was a troubled youngster aide by the judge in his youth and was the first to meet Elena upon her arrival and was instantly drawn to her, and she felt the same pull to him.....but will they overcome misunderstandings and preconceptions to find their happy ever after. Indeed, but follow the pair through their sweet courtship and giggle at the bits of humor added for spice.
Another great addition to the Chocolate shop series.

The ninth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series has lived up to the sweetness of true romance as the previous books in the series
Ms Thomas has created in Wes and Elena two characters with depth and true emotions. Many of the moments between Wes and Elena warmed my heart, bringing true joy while experiencing the growth of their love for each other. I especially enjoyed previous characters being woven into the story...as has been the case with the previous stories. Of course the Copper Mountain Chocolate Shop and its frequent visitors continue to be a favorite part of the series . I look forward to the continuation of the series, wondering which new character will be added to the storyline.
This ARC book is a complimentary copy provided by the Publisher and Netgally, I am voluntarily providing my honest re your.

Elena is visiting Marietta to meet the great-grandfather that she never knew existed. She's not sure if she'll be welcomed or turned away, but she's willing to take the chance. I liked Elena. She's determined to get to know this reclusive man. What she doesn't expect is to find love. I enjoyed this sweet, emotional story. Wesley is a hard worker who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people. He and Elena form an immediate connection, but there are obstacles that they need to overcome. I hoped that they would be successful. I wanted a HEA. I love visiting Marietta and Sage's Chocolate Shop. The town's people add humor, romance and drama to the story. Marin Thomas made me believe in true love. This book is the perfect addition to Love at the Chocolate Shop series.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read. My comments are my honest opinion.
