Yes, I love seeing these lists of new releases every month. My want to read list isn't thrilled with me though.
Does what it says on the tin! Great book on finding out whats new and what you can review with direct links to Netgalley author books :)
Goodbye Vitamin is one of the loveliest books I have reviewed this year. I was more than happy to get a sneak peek. I haven't been able to review The Life She Has Been Given but I'm curious and really want to read it. I enjoy these monthly releases, it gives readers a chance to get a teaser.
A great way to discover new authors. I've already ordered one book based on a sample chapter included in the Buzz collection.
Really nice resource, thanks! I really enjoyed the excerpts of the new books. It is nice to get a feel of the authors writing style before requesting a book. I found 2 that I really hope to read!
What an amazing resource! I absolutely LOVE being able to go beyond a general book description with the samplers, and I can't wait for Final Girls!
Buzz Books samplers are one of the most useful tools I have as a librarian to get a sneak peek at if a book is worth reading or ordering. Thank you so much for providing these!
I often can't believe another month has gone by as I have yet more books to read and review. BUZZ BOOKS really helps to highlight and outline choices for the coming month(s). This July version is filled with thrillers and contains several excerpts which should give fans of that genre plenty to consider! I am engrossed in the excerpt of Rachel Khong's debut work titled GOODBYE, VITAMIN, about caring for a parent with Alzheimer's. I am also eagerly anticipating READING WITH PATRICK by Michelle Kuo and am looking forward to forthcoming works by more well-known authors like: Elizabeth Berg, Paul Farmer, Al Gore and, yes, even Bill Nye.
It's very helpful to be able to see the titles that will be released in the next month, besides it's also super exciting!, as always a great guide for reading lovers
Helpful to select new books. This is for professionals, so I'm uncertain if review is appropriate.
Such an awesome way to find great reads!! Thank you NetGalley.
I always love when these Buzz Books come available. It's an awesome way to be exposed to books you normally wouldn't reach for. It takes you out of your comfort zone. You get to read a few chapters of a book to see if you are going to like it or not. The best part is there is usually a link at the end of each one to click on to request! Brilliant!!
Thanks so much for the opportunity to get a sneak peek at upcoming publications and request full galleys from Netgalley.com.
Once again, I downloaded and read the latest edition of Buzz Books Monthly the minute I saw it was available. Why? Why wouldn't you? July is a big release month for summer books, and I was dying to know what new releases I'd somehow not yet heard of, and which in my pile I should jump into first. Buzz Books Monthly never steers me wrong!
Awesome as always, caught a few gems I hadn't heard about before which are now on my TBR!
I always love reading these because you get to discover new books coming out and you are able to read a sneak peek at some titles. Great way to uncover a hidden gem or two..
Amazing excerpts like Dream Me by Kathryn Berla and Fierce Kingdom by Gin Phillips. This edition has me wanting to drop everything and go read.
I love the previews of upcoming books so much! This particular issue had SEVERAL books that I r4eally want to read and couple that I want to read now, after I read about them listed here! Thank you for the chance to preview so many books before publication!!!!
The July Buzz Books monthly promised some beach worthy reads, though I would say most of these were thrillers with several exceptions -- I'm not a fan of reading thrillers in a public place like a beach, but I can't hold that against them! They had very promising starts. Highlights of this month's selections include Fierce Kingdom, which I have been wanting to read for months now... as well as The Last Hack. I was also excited for the inclusion of the young adult sci-fi / fantasy offering Dream Me.
Another strong sampler from Buzz Books!
This month was a bust for me personally. I didn’t walk away feeling overly excited about any of the featured books. With that said, I love these monthly editions, and not only for the list of upcoming releases by date, but also for the exposure to books I might not give a second glance because they aren’t in my ‘typical’ genre. Being able to read a sample makes my decision, whether to jump in or run the other way, pretty easy.
Excerpts:
The Last Hack by Christopher Brookmyre—This one sounded interesting enough; I kind of liked what I read from the sample, but I’m not totally convinced this is one I would enjoy in the long run. Maybe I'm just not in the right mindset at this point?
Goodbye Vitamin by Rachel Khong—The storyline itself sounded like it would be something I would enjoy, but I didn't really connect with the author’s writing as much as I would have liked to. This is a pass, for me.
Fierce Kingdom by Gin Phillps—To be honest, the excerpt didn’t leave me all that excited to pick this one up. The thought of spending the entire book trapped in a zoo, don’t get me wrong, I love animals, seemed a little stagnant to me. The overly detailed writing wasn't something I would gravitate towards either.
Final Girls by Riley Sager—This one definitely has potential to be something great, but I'm not ready to commit. I’m adding it to the “maybe” pile.
Dream Me by Kathryn Berla—YA isn’t my go to genre; in fact, I’m extremely choosey when it comes to actually picking one up. Unfortunately, the blurb for this one didn’t even spark my interest enough to read the excerpt.
