The story is interesting but it felt like the author was trying to put too many things in her plot and had to rush to resolve it at the end. There was also a lot of gratuitous swearing.

I loved this story. Nick and Emmie met in Vegas and hit it off right away. They did some adventures because he kept daring her and at the end of the night, they got married. He was gone the next morning and she didn' see himm for 9 years. She moved on wih her life and so had he, but the spark was still there. She had not divorced him for personal reasons, butwas thinking about it after she ran into him again. This story had romance, disfunctional family issues, a shocking betrayal, child neglect and biker drama. What more can you want. Loved it

A gorgeously sweet, sweeping "all the planets had to align for this moment" romance with insta-love, Vegas wedding, adorable kindergartners, and, of course, a murderous rival biker gang. Somehow, despite all the illogical moments, this really worked. Mostly because Nick and Emmy really worked as star-crossed lovers.

I'm usually not a fan of insta-love, Vegas quickie marriages, or second-chance romances, but somehow, the magic of Jamison Valley made Nick and Emmy's reunion after nine years feel like kismet. Nick really did a number on Emmy and my favorite parts were when Emmy made him grovel and earn his way back.

While Emmy was no pushover, the fact that both Nick and Emmy made mistakes made their story that much stronger. Both of them lost their cool and had emotional moments that were illogical and hurtful, highlighting that they still had to get to know each other and work through a decade's worth of pain and regret.

I read The Clover Chapel after reading some of the later installments of the Jamison Valley series and it's clear that the author's voice gets stronger and clearer as the series progresses. Maisy's book, The Bitterroot Inn, was my favorite.

The Clover Chapel is an enjoyable romantic read. Emmy meets Nick in Vegas and that same night they get married both feeling they have found the love of their life but when Emmy wakes the next morning Nick has gone leaving behind his wedding ring and a one word note 'sorry'
Fast forward 9 years and Emmy although now engaged has left her fiancé in New York to follow her dream of being a kindergarten teacher, promising she will return to New York in a year. At her first social outing in the small town she has moved to who is their but Nick, now fire chief of the town. Being shocked and angry she wants nothing to do with him, but Nick has other ideas and is determined to win Emmy back.
The development of their relationship is well written, with highs and lows and some excitement this is a well written lovely romance

This is the first book I've read in this series and the first book I've read from this author. I was completely blown away by the story this author has given her readers and based off this story alone, I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. This was a romance story but it also had a bit of suspense and of course drama. This will make you laugh, smile and touch your heart. I can't wait to read the next book.

Another well written novel by Devney Perry. I am normally not a fan of second chance romance, especially when I do not like why one side left the other. Emmeline and Nick meet in Las Vegas and feel an instant connection, they end up getting married and the next night Nick decides to leave Emmy and they do not see each other for 9 years. Emmy moves back to New York broken hearted and having living an unbearable life with her father she decides to go after her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher. The two meet again in Prescott, Montana where their second chance life begins.

I had mixed feelings for both Emmy and Nick. My heart broke for Emmy when she was abandoned by Nick, she tried to move on but before having a divorce finalized she was in a semi-committed relationship. Even though she was unable to find Nick and it would be unfair to have her live a half-life, it did bother me that she was with Logan. When Emmy and Nick reconnected I was happy to see that side of her life was quickly resolved without a lot of conflict and negative feelings. As for Nick, even though I was not really satisfied for his reasons for leaving Emmy and how he left her, my feelings changed for him when he started to actively pursue Emmy. His pursuit of Emmy was swoon worthy, his nickname of “wife” was sweet. I just loved the alpha and protectiveness of him.

And the suspense part of the book was quite a surprise! At one point I thought it was all resolved then realized there was still more to the story. I was not expecting who the villain ended up being. The townspeople of Prescott were great as well. I feel like a broken record sometimes but I love the small town feel and tend to gravitate towards those kind of settings.

All in all another wonderful story by this amazing author.

Thank you again to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

The Clover Chapel, Devney Perry

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance

I loved the sound of this read, and was eager to get started, and what a great beginning. It unfolded into a story I enjoyed but wasn't gripped by though. A one off read, I felt some events were a little overdone, didn't feel completely real.

There were some great characters here, and some humour to lighten some of the darker moments. I loved Emmeline and Nick and was rooting for them, but though most people seemed keen for their reunion to succeed there were a few who weren't.
Emmy needs an explanation from Nick as to why he left as he did, and I wasn't entirely convinced by either his and her actions now chasing that explanation, or that it was actually a strong enough reason. Still, I guess Nick's past meant he was a little more on edge about it than others may have been.
Its not just a story of a second chance romance though but one tied up with some past and present issues and injustices that bring Emmy into danger more than once.
There's some nail biting suspense towards the end, and the perpetrator was someone I really didn't expect.

Stars: Three. Its a story I enjoyed but definitely a one off read for me.

I absolutely adored the beginning of this book. The crazy that they did, but knowing they had almost a decade of separation before they got back together was killer. Nick's story was heartbreaking and Emmy's wasn't really that much better. I loved Nick's Alpha-ness and hated how Emmy tried to deny him when she knew in her heart he was the one.

The story was told in such a way that I could hardly put it down. I wanted to read every spare moment I had. The emotions were so real. The romance so swoony. Everything about this book was just what I love in a romance. It totally made me a fan of this author and I can't wait for more!!

This one is my fav out of the series so far because of how unconventional in the beginning it was. Very good!

This was so incredibly fantastic! Right from the start, I didn't want to put it down and needed to know what would happen next and that feeling stuck with me the entire time. I was so pulled into this wonderful, rich world and I loved it all.

Nick and Emmy were amazing. I loved their story and them as people. It was fun and crazy and intense and emotional. I thought they had excellent character development and I loved learning their histories. I was filled with so much anticipation waiting for them to work things out and for certain details to unfold. They had obstacles in their way and drama happening but it created the best ride ever! It was just filled with so many great details and I honestly couldn't get enough.

Emmy and Nick had a lot of ups and downs and I loved that build even though they could stress me out. Besides their wonderful story there were a few others in play and I loved those extra elements to really show the all the different characters personalities. There is drama and tension and this mystery element happening that had me guessing the entire time. I was hooked!

There was a great cast of characters mixed in and I felt like I knew them and want to hang out with them. I was excited to get the updates on Jess and Gigi from the first book, The Coppersmith Farmhouse, as well as a few others. I loved the writing and the feelings it brought out of me, I was excited and mad and entertained – I could feel it all. The descriptions the details and were excellent. I love the picturesque setting the author created… I really need a log cabin in Montana!

I love that there was so much healing and hope happening in the story as well as forgiveness. It was an amazing second chance romance. I was so excited the entire time I was reading an pretty much hid from my family so I could absorb every detail. I’m so excited for the next book, The Lucky Heart, I am in love with this series!

This was my first book by Devney Perry and I really liked it. I must admit that the story was too far fetched but it's fiction and I read to escape so I went with it. I liked both main characters and how the story progressed. It was entertaining and had some really good moments. The style of writing reminded me a little bit of Kirsten Ashley books, but since I don't read Ashley anymore (her books have become so boring) I found Devney's book really enjoyable.
I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review!

I first nabbed a copy of The Clover Chapel from my local library, folks. Yeah, I’m the one who requested they pre-order it and lucked into being the first person on the hold list. Maybe it was the four leaf clover on the cover that brought me luck. No, probably not, but I’m still doing a bit of a victory dance over scoring a copy of this book so soon.

Book 1, The Coppersmith Farmhouse, is a different story. I’m the second person on that hold list, so jumped right in book 2 knowing there might be some big book 1 spoilers. Were there? Yeah, a few highlights from what were likely nail biting scenes were given, but I can live with that. But if you are a stickler about no spoilers and want a more in-depth, sub-character backdrop before starting this series, I strongly suggest you read book 1 first. The quick, rushed, brief introduction to those characters and past scenes did the job, but naturally I would have enjoyed them more if I had already been acquainted with them.

As the synopsis points out, Nick and Emmy, the main couple, briefly met and got hitched nine years ago. There are some aspects regarding this that really stretched the limits of my imagination, because, well, my first impulse was to question “Who would really do that?” Meet someone, marry them, and think “Oh, I’ll fill in all the blanks/details later about who this person really is.” But, hey, I’m not the author, it set the stage, so I just rolled with it. We are eventually given a full explanation and a dramatic scene that emphasizes Nick wasn’t completely off his rocker in his thinking/premonition.

What boggled my mind the most was Emmy not telling her current, very serious about her boyfriend about her marital status when they first got involved. I know...I know. I’m not the author so once again just went with it. Apparently there were options Emmy could have pursued without knowing Nick’s whereabouts to officially, legally end the marriage, which the author did point out, btw.

Nick knows once he’s laid eyes on his Emmy again he’s not letting her go. He’s just got to convince her to give him a second chance. She’s just as determined to avoid him and finally get closure. With lots of heroine hand-wringing, some brief boyfriend drama, and an “I’ve thought of you everyday/always wanted to be with you but couldn’t/won’t back down now” hero, we see this couple start dating and finally get to know one another.

What’s the passion meter? Well, Nick doesn’t want to mess up this time so takes it slow with her. Steamy, passionate kisses steal the show for quite some time that leads to intimate touching. They finally give into temptation and starting spending lots of graphic, smexy time together, complete with some pretty lusty language.

With a surprise betrayal near the end that gets thwarted by an unexpected but welcome source, the story took an unusual twist I did not see coming. We are then given a brief epilogue that gives us a glimpse into their HEA future.

I enjoyed this one more than the first book which happening often to me when I start a new series. The first one is for the introductions . It was hot and sweet with the perfect alpha male.He was sweet and soft and I adored him.

The Clover Chapel is a warm and sweet romance that will make you smile and swoon (while also wanting to move to Montana). It's unique in that it centers on a second chance romance to two people who seemingly wouldn't need it--a married couple. From a night in Vegas to a crazy coincidencal move to Montana, we follow the love story of Emmiline and Nick. These two will keep you hoping for their HEA while smiling at their banter all the way to the end.

I think the 2 things I really enjoy about this series is how down to earth and relatable these characters are--they're really never hard to like or root for. And the community of Prescott is inviting and exactly what you'd want a small hometown to feel like.

The Clover Chapel is low angst even with its twists and turns and will have you feeling as warm and sweet as the characters are.

I loved the first book in this series so much, my hopes were high for this second installment. This is a fantastic second chance romance, there is humor and heat. The writing is fantastic, the dialogue witty and the characters likeable. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series and I can't wait to read the next book!

This story took me completely by surprise and I loved every minute of it. Devney Perry took this second-chance contemporary romance and blew it out of the water. I absolutely adored how her main characters met and how the story proceeded from there. Perry's writing style never leans too heavily on the angst but rather the details that allow readers to see further inside her characters without undue drama and contrived situations. As readers, through Perry's gifted writing, we see the characters as real people who we could know and hang with and as such become integral parts of their stories while reading.

Nick Slater and Emmiline Austin don't meet and fall in love under traditional circumstances in fact, their paring is quite the opposite. Which makes it so perfect. The backgrounds they come from are interesting and diverse to each of them. And the meat of their story and how they find each other again and again is inspiring and fateful. It's hard to go into much detail without spoiling so I won't.

But each of these characters provides interesting roles to the story and I found myself enamored with them both from the very beginning. A lot goes on as time passes in the The Clover Chapel but author cleverly and concisely brings everything together beautifully all the while holding your attention captive. I sat up until 3 in the morning enraptured in this story.

There's a lot that could be said. Alpha male. Sassy heroine. Enigmatic plot. Great supporting cast. A formidable foe. Wonderful back story. Excellent story-telling. Those are the important parts and the story just falls together perfectly. The Clover Chapel definitely took me someplace unexpected as the second book in the series with two new main characters. It was an exciting adventure full of surprises and love. A perfect romance. I loved this story and can't wait for more from the Jamison Valley.

3-3.5 stars

The story had it sweet parts and Nick was amazing. But, at times it was a little slow and then at times it was OVER the top with drama.

However, I still would like to read Silas's story and was even hoping that maybe Nick's father and brother would get a spin-off series.

The Clover Chapel is my first book by Devney Perry but definitely not my last. It was great, and I have already downloaded the first book in the series. (This is the second.)

Who doesn’t love a married at first-meeting in Vegas? Emmeline (Emmy) and Nick meet in Vegas, fall in love within hours, and marry that night, but Nick vanishes the next morning only leaving a note saying, “sorry.” Nine years later, they are suddenly face to face again when Emmy moves to the small town in Montana where Nick lives. Fate, y’all! Emmy has a lot of questions for him, but she’s so angry that she's no even sure she truly wants the answers.

But Emmy and Nick are not divorced. She tried to find him but never could, but she didn’t divorce him on the grounds of abandonment although she could have. Nick never stopped loving her but didn’t ever seek her out, and he didn’t try to initiate a divorce. When he sees her again, he realizes he wants to right the wrongs of the past, and he wants Emmy. He is a man on a mission to get her back.

Problem - Emmy has a boyfriend of five years back in New York; therefore, she’s not jumping at the chance to get back together with Nick. She’s drawn to him but confused. He convinces her to give him a chance, and he is swoon-worthy in his patient and considerate pursuit. They have a lot of past and pain to churn through, and their happy-ever-after is not guaranteed. Things get even more complicated when some mysterious incidents that threaten Emmy beginning happening.

Emmy and Nick are great together and have wonderful chemistry. I loved how hard he fell for her - in the beginning and nine years later - and his commitment to recovering their relationship. He’s pretty dreamy and sexy, and Emmy is a great match for him. I thoroughly enjoyed The Clover Chapel, and I highly recommend it. I’m looking forward to reading more from Ms. Perry.

PS. I love this cover!

3 stars!

This is what I get for not reading a book blurb or any reviews and just requesting it because I've seen it literally on every blog this past few weeks. The Clover Chapel is the second book in the Jamison Valley series by a new (to me) author, I have to say I enjoyed the author's writing style and how the story pulled me in from the first pages, even though I hadn't read the previous one. Despite me not liking the book as much as I hoped I would, I read it in hours and it was entertaining; a lot of reviews mention how similar the writing and storytelling is to Kristen Ashley and I have to agree.

The story starts with a Vegas wedding. Emmeline meets Nick in Vegas and they hit it off so much that they decide to get married right there, in the Clover chapel. The next day, Nick is gone and Emmeline finds a letter with sorry written on it. Fast forward nine years later, she is a teacher in Montana and guess who she runs into... *gasp* Nick! Although she's in a serious relationship with a guy back in NYC, Logan, she agrees to go out on a few dates with Nick so he can prove to her how he's sorry and why she should take him back. And the story goes downhill from there. Drama, drama, and even more drama.

I had a lot of issues with this one. The elopement, I've read a lot of books tha feature a Vegas wedding and usually the two married people don't go almost a decade without seeing each other. The time jump, nine years is a lot to be married to a guy you only met once and not really giving a crap that he can't be located. I'm not a fan of huge time jumps in second change romance because to me, it's just not believable so this really bothered me.

The boyfriend, Logan is only mentioned a couple of times and then he drops by when he learns about the husband, but immediately breaks up with her because she's clearly still in love with a dude she hasn't seen in a decade. The insta love, this is insta love x2 and I rolled my eyes so hard, both times. The drama, a lot of stuff goes down around 90% that were just utter BS to fill up the pages and create something dramatic as if the story wasn't over the top enough, just to give you a hint, lots of kidnappings happen in this book and lots of betrayals for money. Find something new to create drama about, authors...

The MCs, the hero gave me strong KA feels, all alpha male stuff that just does things for her own good without explanation and expect to be forgiven just because... how about hell no? And the heroine is totally unconvincing, I mean a five-year steady relationship vs a one night stand wedding a decade ago? Sure Jan. The heroine, despite her NYC upbringing with an over controlling vicious father, is really very naive. First for getter married like that and then for trusting an investigator for a decade who couldn't locate her estranged husband because he had given her his middle name not his first name, I mean, really? REALLY?

I did read it in one sitting and it was fast paced, plus there's a lot of sweet teaching moments that I enjoyed, but over all, nothing new to offer.
