I absolutely LOVE and relate to Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. I enjoyed the story and the illustrations. This would be an excellent gift for an introvert friend or family member.

A very relatable set of comics about reading, loving books, and embracing your introverted self. The art can be a little simplistic and it's a very quick read, but a fun way to embrace your nerdery.

I really enjoyed this and it had so many relatable moments! I definitely connected with this one on many levels. As an introvert this just hit the mark. The illustrations are amazing and I really hope there will be more!

This was one of my top favorite books of 2017.

Debbie Tung is an amazing illustrator. She successfully captures and presents her characters. I love her style and the unique way she illustrates her stories. Quiet Girl in a Noisy World is my favorite of hers. It was funny, very relatable, and filled with honest moments and warm feelings. The illustrations are amazingly done, making the story and characters even more appealing.

In many parts, I felt like this book describes what's happening in my mind, and I think that it doesn't matter if you are an introvert or an extrovert to read and enjoy this book.

I loved it.

This was very relatable! Many comics described exactly how I have been feeling when for example, the phone or doorbell rings. These collections tend to get a bit too much of the same after I while but this did not bother me with Quiet Girl in a Noisy World.

The drawings were very cute and I liked them a lot. Keep up the good work!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

'Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story' by Debbie Tung is a collection of comics about the author's experiences as an an introvert.

The main character doesn't mind loud parties sometimes, but likes to be able to recharge. She gets a new job in a lively office and prefers to work quietly at home. She finds the perfect partner who understands and will shield her from draining situations.

I liked and appreciated this collection of short comics. As someone who tends to be an introvert, I can relate to an energy meter that gets drained in certain situations and what I do to recharge (which is similar to the author).

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

I would like to thank the publisher for giving me a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really like Debbie Tung's work and I find myself in a lot of her work. As a fellow quiet girl in a noisy world: you are not alone!

Introverts of the world will relate to this collection of comics by Debbie Tung. With humour, Tung accurately conveys the inner thoughts of the non-extrovert and why we need to recharge after social interactions. A must-read for introverts who don't always feel understood, and a must-read for extroverts who don't always understand their social counterparts.

Introverts everywhere will be able to relate to this book. I could see bits of myself on every page. The illustrations were very simple but I think that only added to the book's charm.

The one word I would use to describe this? Beautiful. The drawings, the message, the relatability, the story-- all just beautiful.

I have seen a large up tick in "deep meaning" graphic novels recently. A couple well done works about eating disorders stand out. Quiet Girl focusing on introverts was a surprise and a nice addition to an increasing niche!

I can't express properly how much I enjoyed reading this book. Comics on life are - most of the time - fun to read. It delivered everything I expected and even more. I could reflect to it many times. I especially enjoyed the hint on the 2016 election, that was fun. Topics like social anxiety, quiet being strong instead of weak, the importance of havint the time for ourselves and so on. This is one book I will return to later.

This was a very humorous, adorably drawn, and highly relatable collections of vignettes on the struggles of growing up as an introvert in an extroverted world. The overall concepts and feelings are not anything new to comics and graphic novels, and in this way, it might come off as a little repetitive. At the same time, however, everything in this collection is made much more unique due to the focus on Tung’s own personal experiences as well as by her wonderful art style. Through each individual comic, we follow Tung in the years after college as she learns to navigate being an adult while also accommodating her introverted nature.

As a majorly introverted young adult myself, I had absolutely no trouble identifying with many of these situations and emotions. Tung portrays everything perfectly to the point where you feel like this book is written for and about you. The art is magnificent and enhances the reading experience and the message Tung is conveying. Overall, this is a very warm and touching book that sends a great message—it’s all right to be an introvert! This is a very heartwarming and funny read that I believe will be extremely easy for a lot of readers to connect with.

Sorry to say I wasn't read QUIET GIRL IN A NOISY WORLD. The synopsis sounded like something I would really enjoy and learn from Unfortunately, the file didn't download or format correctly which made pages not view-able. I'll be buying a copy for my personal library.

Introversion is a spectrum, and I'm not as far over on the line as Debbie is, and yet I could still relate to some of what she presented here. I think it would be a great read for introverts and extroverts alike if only to learn to understand and respect our fellow man a little bit more. I especially liked the overall moral that You Be You and don't be pressured to think that there is something wrong with you because you don't like socializing with strangers (or other things). The rat was cute and I loved how she illustrated her eyes to really drive home Debbie's feelings in different scenarios. And I agree with Debbie: Books and tea will always be delicious ;-)

‘A Quiet Girl’ is a nice litttle comic, but only interesting if it’s relatable. There’s no story, so the pictured situations become a bit repetitive. But, for an introvert person, it can be encouraging, precisely because the situations are this relatable and true.

Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story is a comic book by Debbie Tung about a girl growing to accept her introversion as a feature instead of a flaw.

This book is SO me! I've always been an introvert and I used to feel inadequate. Now I'm older and ok with it. It's who I am and I know there is nothing wrong with it.

The author of this book really understands introverts, she must be one. Her portrait of introverts is accurate. The comics are short and to the point. The drawings are simple, in black and white and very expressive. They convey well, and without the help of much text, the message.

This is a good reading for introverts: it demystifies introversion. (I smiled as I recognized myself in some funny situations, I felt understood).

It's also a good book for extroverts who want to understand introverts. (I already told my husband, who is an extrovert, to read this book so he understands me better).

Yet, don't think that introverts don't like people, they do. They just get tired and drained after some time around people. They need some time alone.

There is another quirk to which I relate to the main character: I'm also a bookworm. I love to stay home with my kids, my husband, and my dogs. And also alone, in my corner, reading my books and recharging batteries.
