My young daughter read this book after I told her about when I was younger and would read the Peanuts comic strips and books. She enjoyed it.

'I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo!' by Charles M. Schulz is the 10th volume in the Peanuts AMP series.

This time around Patty can't concentrate at school and wants to go to a private school. Snoopy directs her to a dog obedience school, then gets in trouble. There are antics with the cat next door. Snoopy decides to get married, and Charlie Brown finds a team of little baseball players to coach that have never heard of him.

Sometimes these collections can feel a bit dated with the humor, but this one felt pretty fun and fresh. You can't go wrong with Peanuts.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

The series of short comics published in 1983 are still funny and insightful today. Since cobdumer are leaning towards digital books, Plus the pages are sharper than the newspaper clippings and VHS. I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo! (PEANUTS AMP! Series Book 10) is a great way for parents, families, and friends to share peanuts with a younger audience.

If you're over a certain age you can't help but smile with memories of Sunday mornings sprawled out on the floor with the "Funnies"... And Good ol' Charlie Brown and the gang were a big part of that. Peppermint Patty, usually more of a secondary character, gets her fair share of the spotlight in this fun collection.

Everybody knows the Peanuts gang and I honestly don't know of anyone who doesn't like them. You can't go wrong with this book. Recommended for kids of all ages.

This collection manages to be both classic and current at the same time with ease. Humor shines through as always in Schulz's comics. Schulz manages to convey so much of life experiences with these few boxes of drawn up characters and a couple of lines of dialog (monologues as well!).

Watching Snoopy fight with that neighboring cat and Peppermint Patty at obedience school as well as every other included comic strip will not fail to make you smile. And if you want to make a paper helicopter at the end of it all, well, you can do that as well with the instructions included in this book. A color republication of an earlier edition, this book is the perfect pick-me-upper for all those times you need a, well, pick-me-up!

I enjoyed every bit of it, as did the kids. We all have been enjoying reading the Peanuts comic strips in our Sunday newspaper for as long as I can remember, and this book provides all that enjoyment in one cool collection - some familiar and many new as well. There are also so many life lessons imparted through these pages that make me say ' I need to do this ', like the one where Snoopy tries to get to the park and his monologue inspires me to get out and do more (sadly,  in my case, I often listen to my feet :))
And that snarky, quirky sense of humor that totally appeals to me:

Rating: A
Reading Level: 7 - 12 years
Reread Level: A

Thank you to NetGalley for a digital RC of the book. The opinions are fully mine(ours!) and totally overdue in this case :)

First off I’d like to thank Netgalley, the author and of course the publisher, for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

I grew up loving the Peanuts Gang, I read their comic strips religiously, had their coloring books, and watched all the specials on T.V. When I became a parent I introduced them to my children, I mean how could you not love the gang. My favorite has always been Snoopy, always has and always will.

In this collection of the peanuts there are colored comic strips, which just bring back so many memories for me. There were two characters not in the book, Pig Pen and Franklin. I know they weren’t in every comic strip, but they were however in all the television special.

The kids all still look the same in the strip, but they do seem to of grown-up some. Peppermint Patty is still very much an abrasive character, and when I say abrasive I do say it with love. Linus still carries his blanket, I can’t blame him, and I still love all my blankets.

Peppermint Patty does seem to have the spotlight in most of the book, and I’m ok with it, I really wouldn’t mind more books to come and put a different character in the fore front.
I adore the fact this has came out for a new generation to love.

I’m not your Sweet Babboo!: 40 year old comics still fresh as launch day

Was 1976 really that long ago? 76 was a year before I was born, so I could never deny the age of #peanutscomics , but how do they stay so awesome? How do they (against odds) continue to retain their relevancy? I was on the fence when I came across this review copy. Was I taking on a strip collection that I would just snooze through?

Nope. Laughed aloud and smiled a lot while I read this. Peanuts have an irreverence to them that keeps them afloat. Lucy is always an asshole, you always question Marcie’s motives (sexually), there is a demonic undercurrent to Snoopy’s belly laugh and chicanery. Good job (RIP) Chuck Schulz

I grew up with them and am helping indoctrinate my children to Peanuts. The recent feature film managed to be solid and avoided all technology references and sustained a fresh feel. I sat for two hours on the couch a couple years back researching a shared memory with my wife of the Great Pumpkin making an appearance and questioned our joint sanity as we both potentially hallucinated as children.

This was a great read and a fun memory jog! {even if it was decades old it avoided staleness from page one ;) }

Thanks Andrews McMeel press for the access!

i wasn't able to finish this one!! sadly I just can’t...I just don't know why but I can't get through this book...it’s not bad it’s just tedious. My kids would probably devour it and find it sooo funny and I took it cause I love snoopy but this collection just isn’t for me.

Peanuts comics comic's take me right back to my childhood and fill me with that warm, fuzzy nostalgic feeling. I'm Not Your Sweet Baboo made me feel like I was 8 again!

I've always been a big Peanuts fan - I've got "The Great Pumpkin" and the Christmas special practically memorized. So it is always fun to revisit some! This collection had me laughing out loud on many occasion - especially with Peppermint Patty going to obedience school and Linus's love triangle. A wonderful trip back to childhood and good ol' fashioned comic comedy.

Classic Peanuts cartoons will make you laugh out loud. Seems to be geared for children as there was a section in the back about how helicopters work. (Snoopy doubled as a helicopter during a rescue in one of the featured cartoons.) Lots of fun. Five stars--sure to put a smile on the face of anyone who reads this book.

Love it! What can you say about timeless characters that you love. Great fun and illistrations!

Charles M. Schulz’s I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo! is a wonderful and adorable full-color collection filled with the adventures of all your favorite Peanuts characters.

I love this collection! It is funny, cute, relatable and classic while still being relevant to life today. All of your favorite characters like Charlie Brown, Sally, Snoopy and Woodstock are here! There are also many familiar things like the kite-eating tree, baseball games, and Sally’s conversations with the school building.

However, there are some strips that I have never seen before like Snoopy being a helicopter pilot and Linus unwittingly ending up in a love triangle. I particularly loved reading about Snoopy’s adventures with the grumpy cat next door, Peppermint Patty signing up for a new school which turns out to be a dog obedience school and poor Charlie Brown is a guard dog stand-in for Peppermint Patty.

Although this book is aimed at children, it’s a timeless classic which is perfect for all ages. It’s an especially great collection for those of us who are long time readers of Peanuts. I’m a huge fan of Charlie Brown and Snoopy and this book didn’t disappoint me at all. The comic strips are familiar, comforting, and easy to read. I really love the puns and the little moments of insight are particularly memorable. I would recommend this book to everyone!

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this book in exchange for an honest review.

The one sure thing anyone can say for sure about me is that I'm an all time Peanuts fan. I don't even think I should be reviewing this because it's an immediate: "Go read it!"
The comics are so fun and cute. You can't help but love them all.

Great walk down memory lane. The Peanuts gang will always evoke memories of childhood.

I grew up with the Peanuts gang. I read the comics and knew all of the TV specials by heart. I loved ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ and watched ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ every year. I have a Peanuts book with black and white comics that I read to death as a kid. While its pages are yellow with age, they’re thankfully all intact. I know I’ll never part with it.

One of the first stuffed toys I ever received was Snoopy and I have photos of me sitting holding it before I was a year old. I still have that Snoopy, although he kind of doesn’t have a nose anymore. It wasn’t me! 😇 Oh, who am I kidding? I’m sure it was me. It’s not like I have any siblings to blame. I even completed a cross stitch as an adult of Lucy sitting at her psychiatry booth, which is as cute and funny as it sounds.

So, that was a long winded way of saying that it basically feels like the Peanuts gang grew up down the road from me, so reading I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo! felt like I was catching up with my childhood friends. I knew a lot of the stories already so they felt like the gang and I were reminiscing about the good ol’ days. I was also excited to find some comic strips I’d never encountered before (I guess I wasn’t home those days and they had adventures without me).

“If life were a camera, I’d have the lens cap on.” - Charlie Brown

Charles M. Schulz created such a wonderful cast of characters. There are just so many smiles in this book. Peppermint Patty is excited that she doesn’t have to go to school anymore because she’s just graduated. Snoopy is her attorney when the public school wants evidence of her graduation. She has graduated - from dog obedience training. Peppermint Patty and Marcie learn how competitive golf can be when they become caddies at the Country Club. Marcie calls Peppermint Patty ‘sir’ all of the time, as usual.

Snoopy and Woodstock have some talks with ‘World War II’, the mean cat next door, who doesn’t talk so much as bowl Snoopy over every chance it gets. Snoopy also meets the beagle of his dreams, plans his wedding and invites his brother Spike to be his best man.

Charlie Brown waits by the mailbox for Valentines, chats to the kite-eating tree and learns why you can’t trust 3’s. Sally welcomes the new school building, Schroeder plays the piano and Lucy fawns over him, and naturally, Linus and his blanket hang out. I would have liked Franklin and Pig-Pen to show up but I’m sure they’ll make appearances in other collections.

“No, ma’am, I wasn’t daydreaming … I was conceptualising!” - Peppermint Patty

I adored this book, particularly the comic strips that were new to me. Having mostly read black and white Peanuts comics I loved that this collection was in colour. Because these kids were a significant part of my childhood, nostalgia will always play a huge role in how I look at any of the characters but from my point of view Mr Schulz’s characters have stood the test of time.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this wonderful trip down memory lane.

I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo is a collection of Peanuts cartoons by the late Charles Schulz. I was very excited about the opportunity to read this book because my oldest daughter is a big fan of Peanuts. Needless to say, she was very excited when I told her that I had a Peanuts book for her to read!

Fans of Peanuts will know that “sweet babboo” was a term of endearment that Sally Brown used with her beloved Linus. Interestingly enough, while there was a storyline involving Sally and Linus going to a farm on a school, most of the collection focuses on other storylines. We are treated to Snoopy’s feud with the cat next door, Peppermint Patty’s school troubles, Charlie Brown running away, and Snoopy playing tennis with Molly Volley.

These storylines are unrelated, but the compilers of this collection did a good job with the segues, so nothing seems out-of-place with the transitions. There’s a nice flow.

I’m a child of the 1980s, so I thought it was interesting that many of these storylines came from the 1970s. I vaguely remember some of them, but others were new to me. Of course, they’re all new to my fifth grader!

I would absolutely recommend I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo. This is a fun collection of some classic storylines from the most famous comic strips in American history. This collection doesn’t introduce any of the characters, so perhaps some familiarity with the characters and their personalities would help readers who are new to the series. This book is a wonderful way to share Peanuts with a new generation of fans!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Peanuts is such a classic, feel-good comic strip. It's for people of all ages and I'm glad I got a chance to read it again. The various characters and situations really make you chuckle. There are some shorter comics and some that carry longer storylines. The storyline of Peppermint Patty going to dog obedience school was my favorite. Some other favorite stories included Snoopy getting jilted at the altar, Marcie and Peppermint Patty becoming golf caddies, and Sally arguing with another girl over Linus. All of the characters are endearing and the humor is sweet with a little bit of sass.
