Description
Everyone’s favorite classic characters are back: Peppermint Patty enrolls in a private school to end her academic troubles—only to discover she’s just graduated from obedience school. Linus finds himself entangled in a love triangle (and stuck on top of a snow-covered roof). And Charlie Brown runs away from the law and becomes a vagrant baseball coach.
The Peanuts crew is lovable, popular, and charming, but please whatever you do, don’t call Linus “My Sweet Babboo!”

Some of the best Peanut's comics strips are in this book, for example Peppermint Patty and Linus against the neighbor's cat. Or the new school and Sally talking to it. The best way to begin the new year!
Alcune delle migliori storie dei Peanuts sono raccolte in questo libro, come per esempio il discorso di Sally alla nuova scuola e Piperita Patty e Snoopy contro il gatto dei vicini. Il modo migliore per cominciare l'anno nuovo!
THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!
Timeless classic! Perfect compilation for fans of Peanuts. To be enjoyed again and again!
I recieved a free digital copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.
Firstly, I absolutely love the title of this book! Secondly, this book focuses on my top three favorite Peanuts character, even though we do see many of the other beloved characters have their own spotlight time.
We follow Peppermint Patty with her school struggles, Snoopy with his typical shenanigans, and get to watch as Sally finds Linus with a new friend.
Lots of fond memories with Charlie and his friends. 💚
I received a copy of the book from NetGalley to Read in exchange for a fair review. I should also mention that I owned and read many times a copy of this book when it was first published.
I Am Not Your Sweet Baboo is a collection of Charles Schulz wonderful Peanuts Comics some fun facts about helicopters and instructions to make your own paper helicopter. I throughly enjoyed revisiting these timeless comics and am delighted that they are being republished for a new generation to enjoy. Suitable for all ages . Publishing Date March 13th 2018 #I’mNotYourSweetBaboo #NetGalley
I don't know why I was browsing Netgalley's "read now" books before I fell asleep last night, but I'm glad I did! I love Snoopy and this is the perfect way to end the year. In this one, we spend a lot of time with Sally as she crushes on her sweet babboo and with Peppermint Patty as she struggles in school. And of course, with that lovable beagle, Snoopy, and his cute little friend, Woodstock, as they fight with the cat next door. A fun way to spend an afternoon for young and old alike!
I didn't grow up enjoying the Peanuts cartoons. I read them, because I read everything on the comics page. But there was something about the humor that didn't do it for me as a child.
Now that I'm older, I am starting to get a real appreciation for the quirk of these books. From Peppermint Patty getting her obedience class diploma, Lucy complaining to the class teacher about not learning about any historical females, Snoopy fighting with the cat next door and Linus fighting off Sally's advances. I have such a greater love for these strips than I ever did when they were age appropriate.
The Peanuts comic strips are always a treat for kids of all ages. You can never read too many of them and you cabin never go wrong with them. Collected here in brilliant color are nearly 200 pages of Peanuts cartoons. Schulz somehow managed with a few pictures, a few squiggles, and perhaps a bit of dialogue to capture so much of the human experience. Filled with daydreams and childhood experiences, these cartoons demonstrate our perceptions of our lives from the schoolroom where the teacher's voice never even appears to the principal's office where Peppermint Patty appears with her lawyer Snoopy to show her Obedience School diploma to the baseball field where nothing seems to work right and how silly we all feel sometimes. And then there are the incredible flights of imagination as Snoopy becomes the Easter Beagle and operates a helicopter rescue service. It's impossible to read these without a huge smile on your face no matter how old you are.
i have not read peanuts for a long time so it was nice to indulge in this sweet comic for kids. Will also appeal to all Peqnut fans.
*thank you to Netgalley, the author and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review*
3 stars.
I believe that if I was more of a fan of Peanuts, that I would have enjoyed this more. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the show and comics and I did still enjoy this. I think fans will love it. It's still the funny, classic Peanuts and a great collection of short comics. Definitely recommend for all Peanuts fans.
A must read for Snoopy Fans. Enjoyed reading this and the graphics are colorful and bright.
Thanks to netgalley.com and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advance PDF copy for my honest review.
Peanuts is a classic comic, by Charles M. Schulz one that is for any age to read and enjoy. I enjoyed reading, 'I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo!', it has some new comics in it and decent reading. Been a life long Peanuts fan, it was one of the first thing, I'd read in the comic section of the daily paper and probably have read just about every paperback release.
Definitely would recommend anyone reading Peanuts, it's one of those classic comic's that for all ages, also would make a great gift and make the perfect addition for your coffee table.
I'm pretty sure that anyone who has never enjoyed a Peanuts comic is actually a monster. This is an adorable collection that features the whole gang in pretty equal parts, which was great. Most of the ones I've read have focused on Charlie Brown himself but it's much more fun to see them all with their unique personalities and antics. Of course, as always, Peanuts is just good, clean fun.
I would like to thank the publisher, author, and Netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley and I chose to do a fair and honest review. An absolutely wonderful compilation of some of the best Peanuts strips ever published.~ "I'M NOT YOUR SWEET BABOO!" needs to be in the home of every Peanuts fan because it is the perfect book to read again and again!
A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I got this on a whim. It is for me a blast from the past and more carefree days. I loved it, and was happy to see it in color. Great for the next generation. As always it's fun, and sad at the same time. I would recommend to everyone.
Who never heard of ‘Peanuts‘? The comic by Charles M.Schulz has a long and rich history of short comics.
This book isn’t any different from all those other books in the series, it’s funny, to the point and sometimes heart breaking. You got to love it. The kind of book you’ve got to browse when you see it laying around and have some minutes to spare.
Timeless, classic!
Time with the Peanuts gang is always welcome. Charles Schulz is wry and funny. A book that readers of all ages can enjoy, whether you read these with nostalgia or are new to his comic strip. A classic!
I own Peanuts collections, but I have never read any of the comics compiled in this book.
There is not a lot to say about Peanuts that is not already known. The characters are great, and I liked being able to see them in new situations. Anyone who enjoys Peanuts should read this collection. Most likely, you will read Peanuts comics you haven't read before, or at least, haven't read in a while.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Get ready to celebrate your inner kid as you enjoy this collection of timeless classic comic strips.
The Peanuts gang comes alive once again in this brand new republished collection. All your favourite characters are here including Charlie, Sally, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, Woodstock, Patty, Marcie and Schroeder.
All the best things everyone loves about Peanuts are in these strips including: football and baseball, the Kite-Eating tree, the blanket, the psychiatry booth, the doghouse, "oh, good grief", don't call me "sir", and especially don't call me" your sweet babboo."
This collection will have everyone in stitches while reliving their childhood.
You will not be able to hold back your chuckles regardless of your age. This collection is like riding on a nostalgic wave and is truly a treat for everyone young and old and especially for all fans of Peanuts.
Thank you very much to the publisher for providing me with a copy of the ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was, as expected from this classic comics collection, totally adorable!
Patty Peppermint vicissitudes with school are just so sweet and hilarious and snoopy answers to them just so him! "Can do public? Can afford private? Here a brochure for a dog training school!" LOL!
Only Schulz can make such magical tales out of such silly topics, making it relatable and educational for young readers. This kind of humor is the one that you only grow to love more as you get older.
The art is gorgeous too as usual. I like the addition of the educational activities at the end.
I am making my foray into books designed specifically for children with this book. I state this upfront solely because I know of multiple Peanuts panels which might apply more to the mind of an adult than to children. This book is not a collection of those panels. These are simple, upfront and mildly thought-provoking to the adult mind. That does not take away from the comic aspect of the tale.
In this collection, the original peanut characters are now older siblings, and there are more new players in the drama. There is a wicked cat next door who is fighting with snoopy. Charlie's younger sister is extremely fond of puns and Peppermint Patty is having trouble becoming literate enough to enjoy school, Linus still clings to his blanket at times. The comic strip does focus (as usual) on sad as well as happy thoughts in these kids. For anyone with even the tiniest funny bone, this series ( as well as this book) would be a good one to add to the bookshelf.
I was given this ARC by NetGalley in return for an honest review.
How I love Peanuts comics! I grew up with them and I still enjoy curling up on the couch with the stories of Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
This collection focused a bit more on Peppermint Patty and I found myself chuckling quite a bit.
Overall, this is a good collection of Peanuts stories and I would definitely recommend it.
I'm always amazed at how contemporary Charlie Brown books seem After fifty years, you would think they would seem, at the very least, quaint, and at the very worst, hopelessly out of date. But Charles Schultz managed to catch the essence of the children and seemingly took them out of time. I'm glad that these books are coming back. Children of now should know what they are capable of.
I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo! contains everything you know and love about the Peanuts characters. With comic strips that run the gamut from school and sports to the holidays and typical Snoopy shenanigans, the book has comic strips that will leave you giggling and in a better mood. The innocence of childhood is brought to life in this graphic novel that is sure to be welcome much read addition to any Peanut's lovers library. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
A good dose of nostalgia, this book introduced me to a few Peanuts storylines that I didn't know including Linus' potential girlfriend who lives in the country. When she and Sally come face-to-face, Linus is left hanging in the wind on the roof. We also see Snoopy on the verge of marriage and in long-running feud with the cat next door.
Not my favorite Peanuts book but fills that nostalgia-need.
Three stars
This book comes out March 13

Classic Peanuts collection. What is not to love about these characters so many generations have grown up loving? The format is typical for the comic strips and the picture clarity is better than anything you'd get in the Sunday funnies.
I don’t have to describe Peanuts to you, do I? Of course not. So I’ll just mention some of my fave jokes.
The book starts with Sally talking to a building. . . and the building thinking, if not talking back, the same way Snoopy does. So all is normal.
Peppermint Patty enrolls in dog obedience school. That’ll end well. At least that’s different than the usual fare.
There’s a cat called World War II.
It’s a really good friend who holds your head after your grandfather tells you that reading too much will make your head fall off.
There’s an almost-Goth girl named Truffles.
Snoopy’s not a rescue pilot, he’s the actual chopper. Woodstock is the pilot.
Tree-biting is a thing not limited to woodpeckers.
Bunny-print needlepoint is the thing to do when on guard duty.
The Beagle has landed!
Ends with fun facts about helicopters, with some heavy scientific explanations. Even shows how to make one. . . out of paper, that is.
If you are Charlie Brown fan then you will enjoy this book. The comics and graphics are wonderful, of course. It is a great addition to other books they have provided of the comics in the past.
Peanuts are always a nice piece of Brain Candy between heavy reads. A palette cleanser if you will. My fav part of this volume is Peppermint Patty's vacation reading. I don’t think we could have ever been friends.
If you like Peanuts comic strips, you need to read this. I smiled and laughed through the whole book!
Absolutely love Snoopy!!! Charles Schulz was a genius. From a new school to Peppermint Patty looking for a private school and taking Snoopy's suggestion (a dog obedience school), the storylines are perfectly matched to the characters.
Always funny. Highly recommend this compilation.
A collection of classic moments and adventures from one of the greatest comic strips - there is nothing not to love here.
I am a huge fan of Charlie Brown! It was fun to visit the peanuts world again, and Snoopy continues to make me laugh out loud with his crazy shenanigans. These comics are perfect for all ages and I highly recommend you give them a try. (If by some impossible reason you've never heard of Charlie Brown)

Review
Happy Monday! To be honest, I was having a bad day yesterday and I can’t think straight, not even to design something. And then I stumbled upon this copy of Peanuts. I thought I called in the night and started reading. Guess what? I got hooked up from beginning until finished. This is my first Peanuts comic. I’m usually not a big fan from Snoopy, but this one sure changes my mind.
This is a very uplifting, chillaxing (chill and relax y’all, like what my cat’s been doing on the couch) and humorous read I’ve ever read! It’s so great that I feel instantly energized and relax. I actually laugh at some of the jokes (never done that before). This is the story that you could relate to, even though you are an adult.
What got me laughing is when Snoopy turns into a helicopter and Linus ask “Is that a helicopter?” It really is a great imagination on how one dog has more personality than the owner. I like the sarcastic attitude of Peppermint Patty. This comic really teaches you how to delve into your imagination and pulled out your inner child. It’s ok to be a kid sometimes, just to gives you time out from the crazy world.
Recommend for those who love Peanuts comics, a good laugh and need uplifting from this weird world.
This is another classic collection of Peanuts comics strips. All of the strips included are funny and this collection should be read by any classic comics fan. The hijinks of Snoopy, Woodstock, Peppermint Patty and Marcie are always a welcome addition to the antics of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the group. The neighbour cat (whose claws only make an appearance) also make the book worthwhile. Sally is also really funny. This compilation will be worth every penny for who ever wishes to buy a copy.
This was a cute collection. My sister LOVES Peanuts (has apps, books and all the old movies, as well as the new one) so I've heard and seen more Peanuts than you'd think. I like The Peanuts, but too much starts grating on my nerves (I think its a sister thing, if she likes it, it automatically begins harder for me to like it).
I thought this was a cute collection though. Well illustrated and it flowed well. I read it all at once and skimmed through it a little, but thought it was enjoyable.
If you like The Peanuts, this is a good volume.
An adorable new collection of Peanuts comic strips. I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo was such a delight to read, and very nostalgic. One thing I did not realize until now, the Peanuts comic strips are extremely clever in its humour. In this comic strip, Peppermint Patty enrolls in dog school, Charlie Brown runs away from the law after biting a tree, Sally becomes jealous of Linus' new friend, and Snoopy pretends to be a lawyer.
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang are all here! Peppermint Patty graduates from Obedience School, Linus has a potential girlfriend, and Lucy and Sally are still pining.
This was more of a nostalgia trip than anything else for me, bringing back the days when I used to read the comics in the newspapers whenever I could.
I'm Not Your Sweet Baboo, by Charles Schulz, is a Peanuts Collection book that includes a large part of the Peanuts cast. It includes several sequential sets of comic strips as well as individual storied strips.
I grew up on reading the Peanut's comic strip and I've always loved them. This collection of comics is just as fun as the first time I read them. Snoopy is always the fun main character with lots of self-esteem whereas Charlie Brown never ceases to question his identity and choices and luck. This book is recommended for young readers who have yet to explore this part of the collection, as well as those of us who grew up on these comics and still enjoy revisiting them from time to time. Highly recommended.
The Peanuts characters are always entertaining. Growing up on them, I liked to read the comics in the Sunday paper as well as the collections. My daughter is now reading them so these are a good timeless cartoon that the family can share.
Like many others, I grew up reading and watching Peanuts. I've also been fortunate to flip through a couple Peanuts collections. This one is a sure winner because many of the comics feature a narrative and really interesting ones that I haven't been overly exposed to either in reprints or from the Peanuts shorts video collections which used to broadcast on Saturday mornings.
I gained a new appreciation for the wise cracks from Sally, Peppermint Patty, and the gang. Wonderful job on curating this collection.
Peanuts comics never seem to get old. Charles Schulz's comics are timeless, classic, and consistently funny. Schulz, sadly, is no longer around to write new comic strips, but thankfully publishers continue to publish new collections. Kids who don't have the pleasure of reading new Peanuts strips in the Sunday paper can enjoy books like I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo!
In this collection Snoopy battles with the neighbor cat, Peppermint Patti enrolls in dog obedience school, Snoopy rescues Linus from the top of a barn, and Sally makes some memorable class presentations. I was surprised at a few more grown-up themes, like when Snoopy's bride-to-be runs off with his brother, and when Charlie Brown leaves home to hide out from the EPA. (They were after him because he took a bit out of the kite-eating tree.)
Kids of all ages will love these comic strips, as they have for generations. Schulz was one-of-a-kind and his work simply doesn't get old.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the complimentary electronic review copy!
The Peanuts are always wonderful, perfect both for children and adults both.
Goodreads Synopsis:
Pick up a glass of milk, curl up with your security blanket, and enjoy the timeless brilliance of Peanuts in this new collection of comic strips!

My Review:
Let me start off by saying this is a short book, so this will be a short review. This book is wholesome and reminds me of the holidays, watching Charlie Brown cartoons. I loved every bit of it, and am really glad I got the chance to read it. The cartoons are classic Charlie Brown, exactly what you would expect, witty and silly. Peppermint Patty joins an obedience school, Marcie forgets to do her homework, Sally doesn't trust three's and talks to the new school, Snoopy tries to meet girls, Charlie brown bites a tree, and tons of other little stories. At one hundred and seventy eight pages it's not a super long read, I finished it in one sitting, and I really enjoyed it. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.

Charles M. Schultz brilliance shines yet again in this comic collection for kids, "I'm Not Your Sweet Baboo." The book contains comics that span all four seasons that kids and adults can relate to that include holidays like Christmas and Valentines day. How many of us remember being afraid of not receiving a valentine like Charlie Brown? Schultz comics are timeless and when put in small volumes for kids like this one gives them something to see themselves in and know its okay to laugh at their mistakes. Nothing was more poignant in this edition than Charlie Brown trying to escape his problem with the Environmental Protection Agency. Seeing Charlie Brown overcome this problem shows children that its alright to make mistakes and more importantly that you can learn from them. This collection also includes things like Peppermint Patty's unwillingness to read a book, Linus' harrowing farm adventure, and Snoopy's Wedding. Each comic is catered to children and things they can relate to, laugh at, and learn from. Schultz shows that humor and imagination are great for personal growth in this volume. This collection is put together thoughtfully and in a way that speaks to children. It even includes a lesson on how helicopters work in the back that relates to Linus' mishaps at the farm and mentions author's purpose in a section about reading. This book is a win, my only complaint, is that I wish there would have been some demarcation between the larger stories or other separation to provide breaks between some of the comics. Not having these breaks interrupted the flow. Overall, it was very well done and I look forward to reading more of Schultz's collections for kids.
If you love the Peanuts Gang, you'll love these adventures. This is a sweet, fun book that brings to mind all of the classic cartoon strips and TV specials. In this collection, the gang deal with the usual range of issues, from Snoopy trying to write his novel, Charlie Brown now being any good at baseball and the kids all showing their quick wit to their teachers. The part at the end where there are instructions to build a paper helicopter seemed little weird (since there was only one Snoopy-copter joke in here), but other than that, it's great book to read for fun.
Kids today may not have been introduced to Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang the way we oldsters were, through the daily cartoons in the newspaper. So now, publisher Andrews McMeel is bringing the whole gang back, in short books that today's kids can enjoy. In the latest one, I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo!, the whole cast of kids and animals gather to learn and teach us all about love, the importance of education, history, and the environment.
When Peppermint Patty struggles in school, she tries to find a private school that will better fit her interests. Snoopy helps her find one, the Ace Obedience School, and even though she finishes and gets her diploma, her old elementary school still insists she come back to class. Meanwhile, the EPA is coming after Charlie Brown for biting the kite-eating tree and Snoopy is in a mixed doubles tennis tournament with tennis phenom Molly Volley.
And in keeping with the modern #MeToo movement, both Schroeder and Linus find ways to let the girls in their lives know where they stand in the relationship.
Last but not least, Snoopy has grand adventures teasing the cat next door, falling in love, and finding work as a helicopter. And to go along with his adventures, there is bonus information on real helicopters and a project--how to make your own origami helicopter. It's not the same as having the O.B. (Original Beagle) to fly you around, but it's a great jump start for the imagination.
I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo! is targeted to middle graders, but it's perfect for the child in us all. It's the perfect introduction of the Peanute gang for today's kids and a fun reminder for those of us who have to settle on being kids at heart. Just as that pitcher's mound calls to Charlie Brown in the spring, so too do the Peanuts gang call to us all, to remember everything there is to love about a beagle.
Galleys for I'm Not Your Sweet Babboo! were provided by Andrews McMeel through NetGalley, with many thanks.
Peanuts is such a classic, feel-good comic strip. It's for people of all ages and I'm glad I got a chance to read it again. The various characters and situations really make you chuckle. There are some shorter comics and some that carry longer storylines. The storyline of Peppermint Patty going to dog obedience school was my favorite. Some other favorite stories included Snoopy getting jilted at the altar, Marcie and Peppermint Patty becoming golf caddies, and Sally arguing with another girl over Linus. All of the characters are endearing and the humor is sweet with a little bit of sass.
* I received this book free of charge from NetGalley.
This is the first collection of Peanuts comics that I’ve read. I have seen some of the comics over the years, and I always watched the holiday specials when I was a kid.
These are cute little comics. Many of them are related, with storylines that take up multiple pages. These stories are still relatable years after they were first written.
Snoopy is one of my favourite characters! I love his commentary. I also love the dynamic between Peppermint Patty and Marcie. I kept laughing when Marcie called her “sir.”
This is a great collection for fans of Peanuts!
There is a reason that the Peanuts comics have stood the test of time. They are relatable, simple, and funny. These are cartoons that anyone can relate to and enjoy, no matter their age.
I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo is a collection of Peanuts cartoons by the late Charles Schulz. I was very excited about the opportunity to read this book because my oldest daughter is a big fan of Peanuts. Needless to say, she was very excited when I told her that I had a Peanuts book for her to read!
Fans of Peanuts will know that “sweet babboo” was a term of endearment that Sally Brown used with her beloved Linus. Interestingly enough, while there was a storyline involving Sally and Linus going to a farm on a school, most of the collection focuses on other storylines. We are treated to Snoopy’s feud with the cat next door, Peppermint Patty’s school troubles, Charlie Brown running away, and Snoopy playing tennis with Molly Volley.
These storylines are unrelated, but the compilers of this collection did a good job with the segues, so nothing seems out-of-place with the transitions. There’s a nice flow.
I’m a child of the 1980s, so I thought it was interesting that many of these storylines came from the 1970s. I vaguely remember some of them, but others were new to me. Of course, they’re all new to my fifth grader!
I would absolutely recommend I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo. This is a fun collection of some classic storylines from the most famous comic strips in American history. This collection doesn’t introduce any of the characters, so perhaps some familiarity with the characters and their personalities would help readers who are new to the series. This book is a wonderful way to share Peanuts with a new generation of fans!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I grew up with the Peanuts gang. I read the comics and knew all of the TV specials by heart. I loved ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ and watched ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ every year. I have a Peanuts book with black and white comics that I read to death as a kid. While its pages are yellow with age, they’re thankfully all intact. I know I’ll never part with it.
One of the first stuffed toys I ever received was Snoopy and I have photos of me sitting holding it before I was a year old. I still have that Snoopy, although he kind of doesn’t have a nose anymore. It wasn’t me! 😇 Oh, who am I kidding? I’m sure it was me. It’s not like I have any siblings to blame. I even completed a cross stitch as an adult of Lucy sitting at her psychiatry booth, which is as cute and funny as it sounds.
So, that was a long winded way of saying that it basically feels like the Peanuts gang grew up down the road from me, so reading I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo! felt like I was catching up with my childhood friends. I knew a lot of the stories already so they felt like the gang and I were reminiscing about the good ol’ days. I was also excited to find some comic strips I’d never encountered before (I guess I wasn’t home those days and they had adventures without me).
“If life were a camera, I’d have the lens cap on.” - Charlie Brown
Charles M. Schulz created such a wonderful cast of characters. There are just so many smiles in this book. Peppermint Patty is excited that she doesn’t have to go to school anymore because she’s just graduated. Snoopy is her attorney when the public school wants evidence of her graduation. She has graduated - from dog obedience training. Peppermint Patty and Marcie learn how competitive golf can be when they become caddies at the Country Club. Marcie calls Peppermint Patty ‘sir’ all of the time, as usual.
Snoopy and Woodstock have some talks with ‘World War II’, the mean cat next door, who doesn’t talk so much as bowl Snoopy over every chance it gets. Snoopy also meets the beagle of his dreams, plans his wedding and invites his brother Spike to be his best man.
Charlie Brown waits by the mailbox for Valentines, chats to the kite-eating tree and learns why you can’t trust 3’s. Sally welcomes the new school building, Schroeder plays the piano and Lucy fawns over him, and naturally, Linus and his blanket hang out. I would have liked Franklin and Pig-Pen to show up but I’m sure they’ll make appearances in other collections.
“No, ma’am, I wasn’t daydreaming … I was conceptualising!” - Peppermint Patty
I adored this book, particularly the comic strips that were new to me. Having mostly read black and white Peanuts comics I loved that this collection was in colour. Because these kids were a significant part of my childhood, nostalgia will always play a huge role in how I look at any of the characters but from my point of view Mr Schulz’s characters have stood the test of time.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this wonderful trip down memory lane.
Excellently organized and entertaining. A real winner for the publisher and the reader.
Love it! What can you say about timeless characters that you love. Great fun and illistrations!
Charles M. Schulz’s I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo! is a wonderful and adorable full-color collection filled with the adventures of all your favorite Peanuts characters.
I love this collection! It is funny, cute, relatable and classic while still being relevant to life today. All of your favorite characters like Charlie Brown, Sally, Snoopy and Woodstock are here! There are also many familiar things like the kite-eating tree, baseball games, and Sally’s conversations with the school building.
However, there are some strips that I have never seen before like Snoopy being a helicopter pilot and Linus unwittingly ending up in a love triangle. I particularly loved reading about Snoopy’s adventures with the grumpy cat next door, Peppermint Patty signing up for a new school which turns out to be a dog obedience school and poor Charlie Brown is a guard dog stand-in for Peppermint Patty.
Although this book is aimed at children, it’s a timeless classic which is perfect for all ages. It’s an especially great collection for those of us who are long time readers of Peanuts. I’m a huge fan of Charlie Brown and Snoopy and this book didn’t disappoint me at all. The comic strips are familiar, comforting, and easy to read. I really love the puns and the little moments of insight are particularly memorable. I would recommend this book to everyone!
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this book in exchange for an honest review.
The one sure thing anyone can say for sure about me is that I'm an all time Peanuts fan. I don't even think I should be reviewing this because it's an immediate: "Go read it!"
The comics are so fun and cute. You can't help but love them all.
Great walk down memory lane. The Peanuts gang will always evoke memories of childhood.
Classic Peanuts cartoons will make you laugh out loud. Seems to be geared for children as there was a section in the back about how helicopters work. (Snoopy doubled as a helicopter during a rescue in one of the featured cartoons.) Lots of fun. Five stars--sure to put a smile on the face of anyone who reads this book.
Peanuts comics comic's take me right back to my childhood and fill me with that warm, fuzzy nostalgic feeling. I'm Not Your Sweet Baboo made me feel like I was 8 again!
I've always been a big Peanuts fan - I've got "The Great Pumpkin" and the Christmas special practically memorized. So it is always fun to revisit some! This collection had me laughing out loud on many occasion - especially with Peppermint Patty going to obedience school and Linus's love triangle. A wonderful trip back to childhood and good ol' fashioned comic comedy.
