Feared, the sixth installment of Rosato & DiNunzio, by Lisa Scottoline kept me guessing right up to the end, although it did take me a couple of chapters to become engrossed. But, once I got into it, I was fully immersed and had to keep reading to find out "who dun it". I thought for sure I had it figured out toward the beginning but was completely wrong. This story is the law firm Rosato & DiNunzio being sued for reverse discrimination while Mary is pregnant, dealing with complications, and also trying to learn how she will balance having the baby and her career. Since this is the third of the series I've read (4, 5, & 6), I'm familiar with all of the past characters that are in this book and enjoyed getting more of their stories.

This wasn’t my favorite Scottoline book. There are others I liked better. This one didn’t seem realistic to me.

As always, Lisa delivers an interesting plot with great character development. This is a book to curl up with on a rainy afternoon.

I adore the characters in the Rosato and DiNunzio series! The stories are fun, with characters you’d actually like to call friends! This newest adventure places the firm itself at the center of story, with the feisty team fighting for their professional reputation. The case turns deadly, with one of their own accuseded of the crime. The social issue at hand — the potential for reverse discrimination in an all female firm — is complimented by Mary’s trepidation of the birth of her child and the loss of her professional identity.

The ending was all you’ve come to expect in a Scottoline novel. I loved it!

I just love a good lawyer tale with some uproarious humor thrown in. In a case of reverse discrimination, an all female law firm gets sued for not hiring a male lawyer. Throw in depositions, a pregnant attorney, a hard as nails senior partner, a murder or two, plus a lot of Italian humor and you have one great book. Does the opposing lawyer have it out for the ladies? Who can they hire to defend them? Who is sleeping with who? Why are there so many guys named Tony? Another story in the long history of Benny the attorney, these books are stand alone but should be read in order so you can understand the backstory and character development. Can’t wait for the next one. Just read it already!

When reading this book, I can say I was not expecting the twist at the end! This story follows three lawyers who find themselves being sued for reverse-discrimination. In addition, they find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation for one of their colleagues. Their quirky personalities at a lighthearted touch to the more serious matters that the character experience throughout the novel. Overall, I feel this book was well paced and wrapped up the characters' stories nicely at the end, but I sometimes feel it was lacking that something "extra" to make me want to keep reading. With that aside, it was still a well thought out story.

This is a good mystery which held my interest. The characters are known from prior books, but I had not read them. The characters are partners in a successful law firm in Philadelphia and are accused of reverse discrimination which threatens to bring the firm down as well as each on individually. I liked the characters personalities and enjoyed the book. I intend to read more of Lisa Scottoline's books.

When I started reading this book, I didn’t realize it was the 6th in the series. Obviously, I hadn’t read the others, and I was worried I wouldn’t follow along. While they made several references to past stories, I was still able to follow along with relationships between characters pretty well.

The only thing that drove me crazy was that they were involved in a case of “reverse discrimination” where men felt that they weren’t hired simply because they were men. I find it ridiculous that it is called reverse discrimination. But that had nothing to do with the author or the story.

A fun read that kept me guessing!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was lucky enough to get an eARC of this book from NetGalley. I went back and read the previous Rosato & DiNunzio novel, Exposed, to catch up on what was happening with the law firm. After I finished that, I started Feared and was really enjoying the book. But, alas I got distracted with other books...for book groups, or ones that were due at the library...and frankly, real life, Last week I was visiting a friend in Texas and went to the library with her. We saw Feared on the shelf and I encouraged her to check it out. She took it home and quickly devoured it. Today is the first chance I had to sit down with the book and was able to finish it at last. I love the characters in this series! Scottoline does a great job of making these characters real people. The story focused on a reverse sex discrimination case with lots of twists and turns, including the solving of a murder. I thought this book was more emotional than some of her others...I mean that in a good way. Perhaps this series is not realistic ( I’ve heard that criticism from attorney friends of mine), but I found the book to be a satisfying read and I loved it!

By far my favorite Scottoline series, can't get enough of Rosato & DiNunzio. To make things even better, now there is a baby DiNunzio. Nice story and a good ending.

Since I have spent the week reading this series, I will say this one more time, but please start at the beginning of this series. The cases are completely self contained in each book, but you will miss so much by not reading them in a row when it comes to the ladies in this law firm.

This book has quite a few cases going on, but one that is timely and interesting is the reverse discrimination claim that the women in the law firm knowingly do not hire men except the one associate and ex police investigator. One of their rivals from a previous book is the one to bring on this case and it is so interesting that they have to hire an outside counsel to manage this case. I enjoyed reading about this case and how they dealt with it most in this book.

The other thing that I loved about this book is that since they were all involved in the case above they all worked together in this book and not one person felt like a main character, it felt like they split this book equally among the three - Judy, Mary and Bennie. I have come to love reading about these women and how they compliment each other in that they all recognize that the other has strengths that they do not have and that they may need to solve one case or another.

I really hope there are more books to come in this series and I hope to read them now as they come out one a year or so.

Still one of my favorite authors. Lisa does it again, and readers will be thrilled. The story is intriguing, thrilling, fast-paced, and has bits of humor. I love these characters!

Feared is the sixth entry in the Rosato & DiNunzio series and is the second one I have read in the series. I read the one previous to this one Exposed. Jumping into a series this far in isn’t something I normally do as I like to really get to know the characters and see how they change and develop as the series progresses. I do suggest to start with some of the earlier ones to really get to know the characters but I did find it easy to connect with the characters and the legal storylines worked well as standalones. I do think they work as standalone or jumping into anyone from the series.

Feared is a fun, light legal thriller with colorful characters that had me laughing out loud with their wit and humor and the dynamics here with the characters. Bennie, Mary and Judy are strong, interesting and fun characters. They face their cases with their hearts and minds.

The legal team Rosato and DiNunzio are being sued for sex discrimination and things go from bad to worse for them however for us readers things just get better with the twists to the story that wraps up to a very satisfying ending.

After reading Exposed I did purchase the first two in this series and I really hope to read them soon. These characters are just too fun to miss out on reading more from them.

Thank you to NetGalley, St Martin's Press and Lisa Scottoline for a copy to read and review.

Disclaimer! I'm a loyal, dedicated Lisa Scottoline fan, as are most of my friends and family so my review maybe a little slanted! I read a lot of books, but the Rosato & DiNunzio books are some of my favorites. The series is always loyal to the characters and the stories are always engrossing. I sometimes wonder what would happen if Mary DiNunzio met Andy Carpenter in the courtroom. Anyway, this book follows the life and times of the Rosato & DiNunzio law firm as they defend themselves against charges of reverse sexual discrimination. The plaintiff's lawyer is an old foe who will do pretty much whatever it takes to damage our heroines. As always, the story entertains as well as keeps you guessing. Then we have the baby reveal at the end! You do not have to read all of the titles before this one, but, treat yourself and read them all!

Thank you to Netgalley, the Publisher and the Author, for the opportunity to reads this book in return for my honest opinion and review.

I have read every book that Lisa Scottoline has written and I have to say that Bennie and Mary are two of my favorite characters, this series has always been exciting, thrilling and edge of your seat legal dramas, but this book kind of missed the mark for me. I just do not feel it was up to the same caliber as the other books. This book could easily be read as a stand-alone book but I feel that the back story of these characters is relevant as well. I do like the return of the grudge between them and Nick Machiavelli, I hoped to see him again in another book. The firm is being sued in a sexual discrimination suit and find outside representation, the lawyer's lawyer, Roger Vitez. After convincing him to represent them, they forge ahead and do their own thing and then things take an even worse turn when their is a murder and the firm is now suspect in that as well. It wraps up rather quickly with a satisfying ending.

I will continue to read this series but I hope the next book is better.

Three men file a reverse discrimination lawsuit against the Rosato & DiNunzio law firm -- claiming they were not hired because they were men. To make matters worse the law firm's sole male attorney (John Foxman) claims there is some truth to the claim and intends to resign from the firm.

Mary's arch enemy, Nick Machiavelli, is behind the lawsuit and plans to do everything he can to destroy the firm.

But before John can resign from the firm he is murdered. Mary is convinced that Machiavelli is responsible for John's murder and tries to prove it.

Things take a surprising turn when the murderer is revealed and Mary finds her life and the life of her unborn child in jeopardy. As usual Lisa Scottoline takes you on a thrilling ride.

I had been waiting anxiously for the next installment of the Rosato & Di Nunzio series. This book starts off with our sweet Mary 7 months pregnant. Her archnemesis Nick Machiavelli is back with a vengeance. Rosato & Di Nunzio are being sued in a reverse sex discrimination case when 3 plaintiffs come forward to say they were not hired by the firm because they were men.

Soon after a murder takes place that hits very close to home for the firm. Without giving away too much detail, the book was fast paced. Some of the dialog was a bit stretched. There is a part where the entire chapter felt like a fight between Mary and Anthony and didn't add any real substance to the plot. I was glad to see Mary's parents and The Tony's back for this book. I always enjoy reading about "The Neighborhood" and the relationships that everyone in South Philly has.

What I liked most was the fact that Mary even though very pregnant, had doubts and second thoughts about her condition. Pregnancy isn't always a walk in the park, and not all women are happy ALL the time. I understood her fears and concerns and I think she was being very honest with herself. She realized just how much her life was going to change, and she gave serious thought in wondering if she made the right decisions. This gave the book a realistic tone.

Judy also played a major role in this installment which I enjoyed. She is the best friend that we all would want by our sides. Feared kept me guessing until the very end.

Heart stopping twists and turns that will cause the reader more than a few breathless moments! The top could not be more relevant. Scottoline is at the top of her game with this one. If you haven't read it, buy it now!

As soon as I read the synopsis of this book I knew I had to read it. I've enjoyed reading Lisa Scottoline for years now and she never disappoints.

This book brings back Mary DiNunzio and Bennie Rosato who are in the middle of their firms biggest case yet. At the same time the firm is hit with a reverse sexual discrimination case when three men claim they weren't hired on, because they were males. To make matters worse, they're one male employee quits because he feels there may be some truth to the case. Nick Machiavelli returns as the plaintiff's lawyer and after already losing to Mary once, he's back with a vengeance.

I really enjoyed this book as I have always enjoyed Lisa Scottoline's novels. The Rosato and DiNunzio books have always been my favorite. Perfect amount of mystery with plenty of comedy thrown in.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and St. Martins Press for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
