This is a children's book aimed at a very young audience and helps teach children that they can have an impact no matter what age they are. Gifts can be the obvious ones, like dancing, singing, or playing in sports. There are less obvious ones, like being kind and caring, being a good friend, and sharing love.

Kathie Lee Gifford is best known as a television host, but has also been an actress, singer, playwright, songwriter, and author. I had not been aware of those other roles she's had over the years. The words here are very simple and easy to understand, with art that is fun and playful for little children. It's a great message for them to have, and for the adults reading this book to them as well. All of us need to remember that we have different talents, and that "small" ones are just as important as the "big" ones.

What a beautiful book about trying to figure out the gift God has given to you! The illustrations are delightful, and I really like the message. There are so many gifts that seem underrated, but they're so important.

The Gift That I Can Give
by Kathie Lee Gifford

Q: What did you like about the book?
A: It was about how we‘re all made for something even if it’s really little like cheering on your friends.

Q: What is the book about?
A: It's the gift that you can give.
Q: That's just the title of the book.
A: But that's what its about too. Like you can give people things that aren't just toys and
stuff. Something you can do for them that only you can do.

Q: So how do you figure out what that is?
A: As you grow and as you live, like it says in the book.

Q: Did you learn anything?
A: It seems like lots of kids like me wonder what they’re supposed to be good at but it’s like it’s okay not to know because you will figure it out as you go.

This is a powerful, poignant, religious book to read to your children or grandchildren. I really liked that words in the text were highlighted by being in a different color. The words in the story are simple yet their meaning is so powerful. The illustrations are absolutely beautifully drawn and with such rich, vibrant colors too. What a fantastic book to give to a child. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

I definitely requested this book a bit too hastily, as now that I’ve read it I can’t honestly say that I would recommend it to anyone. While I found the illustrations quite beautiful and the thought of giving a gift to someone in terms of being a good person is definitely a message that I love and can get on board with, the heavy religious connotations of this children’s book deeply disturb me.. I’ve never really been okay with the idea of teaching children religion without the acknowledgement that it might not be true, and this book definitely accepts god as a truth, which I can’t personally agree with.

Had the final gift not been extremely rilgious and rather god’s inclusion had simply remained a small portion of the book, I possibly would have liked it more but unfortunately it still would have been something I couldn’’t fully like. I would never give a book like this to a child. I wish it had been more focused on actually being caring person in general and not on something as silly as. “God’s Love” which isn’t even something that can be proven. Being a good person is far more important, ultimately, than spreading knowledge of god.

Ultimately, it’s book really wasn’t for me and while I like to keep an open mind, I just felt too uncomfortable with the idea of this book in general.

This is the best book! I love everything about it... the story, the pictures... all extraordinary. The simplicity of its message allows it to be universal and not overwhelming. I know that it is geared as a children's book, but I believe it's a great message for anyone of any age.

The illustrations in this book are lovely. Readers should note this is a Christian book about gifts from God so if that doesn't appeal to you , don't pick it up. However, that aside, I always like rhyming books to read aloud to my kids. It has a message of spreading kindness and other positive things that young children can never have reinforced enough in their lives.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the free digital ARC in exchanges for an honest review.

This is a cute book on a little girl questioning the gift God gave her. She goes through a series of possibilities like to be a good dancer, singer, athlete, kindness to animals, helping hungry children and more. She finally figures out her answer. Hats off to the illustrator on the characters who are cute and fun. I recommend this book for 2-5 year olds.

This book is filled with large, full-page size, beautiful, and colorful illustrations. An important message of God's love and His kindness to others. Children are taken on a journey of all the things they can do to bring joy and help to their communities. It's by sharing this message with action that makes this world a better place.

Such a sweet little story with such a good meaning. It shares that god gives gifts to share with others that you may not know what it is or when it will come but will always be there the share.

With a warm rhyme this book touches the heart.
And narrative illustrations are simple, yet carry a truth that resonate is inevitable. This work approaches in a simple way a feature of our nature, the capacity of our consciousness to flow in love with ease and grace. I have no religion, yet I am in favor of the experience of Love as a high level of coherence, consciousness and bliss.
In this so sweet, visual and almost poetic language, my heart resonated in the truth of what my life purpose is, to be an instrument of Love. Through all of my traveled paths, I have witnessed how children express this gift. Adults have accumulated resentments and it is our responsibility to resolve to return to love, and from there distort as little as possible the flowering of our loving children.
We will also be able to teach them how to let go of their resentments, feel fuller. From the hand of self-awareness and self-love that radiates to others, happiness will result, which will expand the possibility of a better world.

I enjoyed reading “The Gift That I Can Give” by Kathie Lee Gifford to my grandchildren. This is such an adorable book to demonstrate to children about using their God-given gifts to help others. This story teaches young children, in a simple story, that they each have gifts to help the world and they can do it now, even though they are young by acting with compassion, giving a family member an extra-big squeeze, visiting someone who is sick, or cheering on a friend. My grandson asked questions while reading this one, wanting to know what his gifts were, and we had a nice discussion. ending in a big hug and kiss. The illustrations by Julia Seals were large, sweet and attractive to children as well as showing a diverse group of children all with smiling faces. I recommend this book to families, church libraries and public libraries and Christian School libraries. It is a a beautiful message. The publisher, Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN'S, generously provided me with a copy of this book to read. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

First of all, this book is very religious.. Putting that aside, it is an uplifting and inspirational story that encourages children to find what they are capable of and how they can help. The illustrations are what makes the story. It is beautiful poetry and is perfect for the younger audience. Considering the religious nature of the book, it won't be for everyone and that's okay.

This is the first book I read about Kathie Lee Gifford and all I can think is that maybe she has a girl like mine somewhere in the world. What a good illustrator is Julia Seals (I already added her as a favorite, I really liked her job! since she captures the inspiring content so beautifully and tenderly).

This book captured my attention from the beginning, not only because of the pretty girl that comes out in the illustration but because of the title. Let me explain why.

Currently, I hear many children say that they will be a certain career because that "will make them earn a lot of money". it is sad that they only have that focus on themselves and not anyone else. On the other hand, the author talks about the gift that we can GIVE. By using the word give, we are helping them to be less self-absorbed and to teach them to focus on others, how to collaborate, contribute, serve. I think it is a very important topic to teach children and talk openly because culture will shout otherwise.

On the other hand, what a beautiful surprise I had to receive this book just these days when we were talking about these issues. The book will be published until October 23, 2018, How exciting is that?!

I believe that this book is also very useful to talk with young children about the unique and specific design that God made creating them, as well as to initiate or reinforce important conversations about identity, purpose, gifts, talents, putting everything at the service of others and God. The way they only can do. My daughter is turning 8 years old on August 20 and she we were so excited to review it together. She gave it 5 stars!

If you have the opportunity to acquire it, do it, it's very nice. It is one book that we will surely visit again on some other occasions when questions about these issues arise. I read it, she read it and when her dad came home from work, he read it too.

If you educate at home or your children are learning the English language, this can be a good and simple addition to practice reading and standing up to discuss these issues with them.

An absolutely beautiful little book and very sweet. Also very religious. So if you're not a religious person then this book may not be for you.

This sweet story of finding your purpose and role in this world is told in rhyme. The illustrations are endearing. I appreciated seeing various peoples represented. The conclusion that the God just wants us to love and grow is precious. There's so much pressure on kids today to be outstanding and unique but to be kind and loving is the true mark of a good character.
I also enjoyed seeing the little girl ask God for her purpose.
