I enjoyed reading “The Gift That I Can Give” by Kathie Lee Gifford to my grandchildren. This is such an adorable book to demonstrate to children about using their God-given gifts to help others. This story teaches young children, in a simple story, that they each have gifts to help the world and they can do it now, even though they are young by acting with compassion, giving a family member an extra-big squeeze, visiting someone who is sick, or cheering on a friend. My grandson asked questions while reading this one, wanting to know what his gifts were, and we had a nice discussion. ending in a big hug and kiss. The illustrations by Julia Seals were large, sweet and attractive to children as well as showing a diverse group of children all with smiling faces. I recommend this book to families, church libraries and public libraries and Christian School libraries. It is a a beautiful message. The publisher, Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN'S, generously provided me with a copy of this book to read. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

I read this book to my son and he loved it. It was a beautiful book from the story to the illustrations. I really loved that this book was about Christianity as I am Christian yet I don’t always get a chance to go to church. The message of this book was very uplifting and so cute. I love how it made my son think and answer a question about himself. This is a really wonderful book to have.

Adorable multicultural illustrations by Julia Seal perfectly complement the sweetly lyrical text. Not only does Gifford encourage children to embrace kindness and the gifts that make them unique – be it hobbies or personality traits – she also reminds readers of all ages of our shared gift to give the world: God’s love. Warm, rich colors give life to both the text and the illustrations, causing them to leap off the page and capture the hearts of adults as well as the target readers. Meaningful, cute, and inspiring, this is a treasure to keep for years to come.

This book is adorable! The illustrations are sweet and inviting, and the rhyming text has a good flow to it. It's definitely for people who believe in God, but anyone who believes in a personal God who loves each person will enjoy this one.

It's a sweet progression as the little girl wonders what the gift God gave her might be, with large ideas (dancer, athlete, etc.), and small ideas (cheering on a friend, hugging a family member). I love that her conclusion (spoiler alert!) is that God's love is the gift she can give, whether in a particular profession, volunteer roles, or daily life with family and friends (of course the message is stated much more simply & sweetly than that!).

The Gift That I Can Give by Kathie Lee Gifford is a beautiful picture book with an important lesson. The illustrations in this book are gorgeous. I read it with my seven year old son and he loved it. That being said, it’s a very short book and you’d probably only read it once. Overall, it is a beautiful book. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
