Whilst there was some strange formatting and nonsensical words in parts as I read on my iPad (not sure why, no other reviewers have commented on this issue), what I did read was very good. I will be buying a paper copy when it’s published and will add my review to Goodreads and Amazon when I’ve read the full copy. Good clear illustrations, a useful quiz, a look at symptoms and tasty recipes, giving a very useful self-help guide to bloating.

The Bloated Belly Whisperer is an excellent self-help book for those with digestive distress.

The book begins with a brief overview of how the digestive system works—with helpful illustrations of internal organs. A quiz to narrow down the reader’s stomach and intestinal issues follows and then refers readers to the appropriate detailed chapter(s). In those chapters, the book lists the symptoms, the cause and possible solutions of each illness. The book describes the ten most common ailments that cause digestive distress:
• Gastroparesis
• Dyssynergia
• Classic indigestion
• Functional dyspepsia
• Aerophagia
• Constipation
• Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
• Carbohydrate intolerances
• Celiac disease
• Pancreatic insufficiency

The book concludes by providing two diets, including recipes, plus a chapter on fiber and another about digestive support supplements.

The Bloated Belly Whisperer goes into more detail than most health self-help books. Readers who have, or know someone who has, “tummy troubles” will find a lot to like about this book. The author is a dietician who worked in a gastroenterology office so she knows of what she writes. 4 stars!

Thanks to the publisher, St. Martin’s Press, and NetGalley for an advance copy.

This books take us on an in-depth review of the cause of bloated bellies and how to combat it's symptoms. I found it really interesting learning about the remedies and hope that it will help readers and myself. I would recommend this book for anyone dealing with a bloated stomach and is interested in learning how to deal with it.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Well, initially I opened this e-book and thought it just had formatting issues that made it unreadable. But, one reviewer suggested that the unreadable bits were the golden nuggets that the publishers/author are keeping for “paying customers”. I looked again and this does seem to be the case.

If you are submitting less than the full manuscript, it should be labeled as a sample or partial. If it’s posted, it should be the entire book.

Reviewers are either publishing reviews in exchange for an advanced copy (and prior to publication, such online reviews can lead to pre-orders, the holy grail of purchases), or they are deciding whether to purchase copies for libraries or to sell. In any case, the time and energy is the quid pro quo to the advanced look.

This book explains the different areas of the abdomen and different kinds of belly bloating and then gives the reader a quiz to figure out what kind of belly bloat the reader has.  From there the reader can just read the section or sections pertaining to their type of belly bloat.  There are recipes and ideas for immediate changes to relieve the issue as well as long-term changes in diet to prevent recurrence.

I found the book interesting but the review copy does not contain the quiz and a lot of pages were in gibberish, I assume so that reviewers can't steal info and if they are really interested, they still have to buy the actual book.  I think this book could be very helpful to someone experiencing bloating and the author does explain when you need to see a doctor because the symptoms require more than just a self-help book.

I requested this book because I have had issues with belly bloat.  I went to a functional medicine doctor who advised me to do an elimination diet, which the author discuss in several sections of the book.  It was determined that I have a sensitivity to corn.  As long as I avoid corn, I am usually fine, but sometimes too much sugar or salt can trigger some bloating for me.  I think knowing your triggers is helpful and there are times when you might decide to just go for it and have that kettle corn, even though you know it will bloat you the next day, it's not a serious condition.  But it is imperative to find out if your bloating could be signaling something else in your body.

I am giving this book 3 out of 5 stars because there are not a lot of illustrations or photos, and I think in 2018, we are used to more visual presentations with at least little boxes of additional information and photos of recipes; also while I think there is a lot of great information in this book, a lot of the review copy was in gibberish and I don't feel I was able to get a really good idea of the book.

WOW!!! This book is absolutely amazing. As I read the pages I realized exactly how much my eating habits were effecting my stomach. I learned ways to be creative with different items and what was best for certain problematic issues. I had a drs appt and so I ram ad this before I went. I shared a few things with my dr and she wants to buy a copy when it is available. I found questions that were imperative to find the answers to because I have diabetes. While this book does not address that illness, it will help with Bette food items and helping you to change the way you eat. I feel so much better. With diabetes, my stomach will cramp when I do not eat for more than 4 or 5 hrs. This book has ideas for food that is not heavy yet you still get the nutrients you need. This book is a must for anyone who takes their health seriously or those who want to just eat better so that you do not feel bloated.

Thank you to the author and publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
