Tung's take on life as a book lover is quite hilarious and spot on at times. I can't say that all apply to me, but many do.
I was not as big a fan of the previous book by the author: Quiet Girl in a Noisy World only because the tone of it was a little heavy. This book on the other hand is what a mind reader would say if they had an opportunity to be around me in the situations highlighted here. It is all about the love for physical books.
I do not have the place to actually own books where I now live (any more than I have already tried to stuff in it , unread) but the essence and the emotion is the same. The name of the book says it all. From the smells, to the behaviour and to everything in between, it is pure recognition that would strike those who hold the same things dear.
It is a fun read and I really enjoyed the experience.
Oh my gosh... I LOVED this book and need my own copy! I could literally relate to every page I turned. I laughed out loud, and even had my husband read some of the scenes. His reply, “yep, that’s definitely you!”
This book is a quick read, graphic novel where Tung describes what it is like to be a Book Lover. The illustrations are awesome and for any book lover, this graphic novel will be a hit!
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for this amazing advanced copy!
It will feature on my blog Saturday December 1, 2018.

Such a fun graphic book about the life of a book lover! I found myself relating to most posts, laughing out loud and wanting to read more books!
I can see myself in every single one of these scenarios .
Generally a really cute comic explaining some aspects of life as a book lover done in a really nice art style.
This is a wonderful little book and would make a perfect gift for the book lover in your life. The illustrations are beautiful and each individual comic is highly relatable for anyone who loves to read.
Book lovers and bookworms have to read this! I can totally so relate to her. Highly recommended to all.
What's not to love?
Debbie Tung has also written and illustrated 'A Quiet Girl In A Noisy World' and together this graphic novel pair make a brilliant gift for any book-lover out there.
Many times I've been tempted to leave this book out just so people were able to understand a reader's quirks or frustrations! And that I'm not the only one who dreams of a day to myself with just my books...
Tung illustrates those often mundane moments we don't give a second thought. For me it was taking ages to select a book before I leave the house! I debate my choices too! A relatable read, and the drawings were as good as I remember fr0m her first graphic novel.
A warm, often funny in Tung's signature exaggeration, collation of small moments or oddities in a fellow reader's life. Whimsy with a dash of hilarious realism: I recommend.
I received this book through Netgalley.
How unique, a graphic comic book that expresses a love for books. The author created excellent illustrations accompanied with witty prose. It made for an entertaining read.
This was a great read, and as a book nerd, I related to all of it. I'm just not sure I would read it all again in this format. Would I post individual parts on Facebook or hang posters of them up on my walls? Absolutely.
If you love books and love comics, this is a great read.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Book Love is a sweet and fun graphic novel that perfectly encapsulates what being a book lover is all about. It's filled with anecdotes and quips that are wonderfully relatable as a fellow book lover. While reading this, I kept thinking to myself, "Yep, that's me!" Not only that, it acts as an explanation for those around us book lovers who wonder about our weird habits and quirks. It also has lists and fun tips - different places to read books, how to get out of a slump, and others.
Tung eloquently describes why book lovers love books so much - from the way they act as an escape, to enjoying a beautiful cover. I could relate to every page, and I could easily see myself reading it again and again because of that.
I was looking around on Netgalley for something to read and under the read now tab I found this book Book Love by Debbie Tung the release date isn’t until January 19th but you can read it for free as I did on Netgalley. Book Love will speak to the book work /dragon in you . I couldn’t stop laughing I could relate to every single page the way movies sometimes destroy the book, the fear or lending someone a book to smelling the books in a bookstore. This was a cute little graphic novel that was nice to pass the time with.
This was really cute! I couldn't relate to some of the comics, but I'm sure many other book lovers will!
Bad link couldn’t read this book and no one could fix link so I could actually read or review this properly...
This is a cute collection of relatable comics for book lovers. I made my husband read a couple of them. "Look here! I'm not the only one." It's a gift book, so you won't find any revelations in it, but it's a fun little read.
If you haven't read this yet.... what are you doing with your bookish life??
Okay, Book Love literally describes and illustrates (in a comic book style) all the scenarios you might find yourself in as a bookworm. i.e. something like:
sister: *comes out of bookstore carrying several books*
brother: wait. didn't you just borrow those from the library?
sister: *hugs books close* well yes, but I loved the covers so much that I HAD to have them on my bookshelf. even if they aren't very good.
While this might seem very exposing to some of you (*cough*), I definitely found it SUPER hilarious and extremely accurate. It called for some good + loud laughs and I can't wait to share it with my bookworm friends! I know that I will be on the lookout for more of Debbie Tung's books, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this as a gift for a bookworm. 5 stars.
Recommended to any age content-wise.
*FTC DISCLOSURE: I received a free ecopy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own and a positive review was not required.
My Rating: 5 stars
I absolutely loved this collection of comics about the joys of reading and being a book lover! Every single page resonated with me – as a bookworm, reading this was pure bliss! The illustrations were beautiful and the ones with dialogue were so spot-on to the point that I almost got a neck cramp from nodding my head so often, lol.
This is a book that anyone who loves books absolutely has to read! With the holidays around the corner, this book would make a great gift for the booklover in your life (the minute I finished reading this, I immediately went online and ordered a physical copy for myself).
With all that said, it’s hard for me to pick a favorite comic from this book because I loved all of them alot, so I’m not going to torture myself. All I’m going to say is: READ THIS BOOK…you definitely won’t regret it!

Where my introverted book loving friends at? If not off reading this little gem of a comics collection ASAP, please make it a priority! So many “Wow, I thought it was just me!” moments. Priceless and sweet!
It was a cute graphic novel about reading and the unusual acts of the hardcore reader. The art was in black and white, very meh.
