Between The Lies by Michelle Adams and Allison Brennam. was given to me thru Netgalley for an honest review. "In vein of Allison Brennam, Michelle Adams Between The Lies is addictive psychological thriller with twists that keep the reader guessing until the last page, in which one woman who's lost her memory is back home with a family she doesn't know- who are keeping secrets their own. The truth is hiding between the lies".
Could you imagine waking up in a room that you do not recognize. Everyday you dig for the truth, but the very people who are suppose to help you, look after you, may even protect you, are the ones trying to keep the truth away from you. However, you know you have to find out the truth so your mind will stop with all of the "what ifs", the doubts you have, despite what you do find out, it make you sane. This is what happen to Chloe Daniels.
Between the Lies by Michelle and Allison truly wrote a fantastic, thrilling, rollercoaster of a novel. The novel kept me up at night as I tried to complete this novel, had me guessing as to why some of the family members had done to keep Chloe from remembering.

Great thriller that kept me up at night and guessing the wrong ending! Will definitely keep you enthralled.

Chloe Daniels awakens one day with no memory. She is living with her family but must rely on the help of others to figure out who she is and why she can’t remember anything. Chloe searches for answers as her memory slowly returns and finds that she cannot trust those closest to her.
This was a fast-paced, fun psychological thriller with a lot of red herrings. I enjoyed the plot line and finished this quickly.
Many thanks to Netgalley, St. Martin’s Griffin and Michelle Adams for my complimentary e-copy ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Psychological thriller with lots of twists & turns along the way, definitely a page turner - well worth a read!

I thought this one was a bit slow at first, but it really started to pick up in the middle. I liked the characters right away. I thought I figured out the actual ending a couple times but I was wrong! Overall I liked this book.

I was really looking forward to this one! But once I started reading, the writing felt patchy to me. Granted, I understand this was intentional. It was only until three-fourths of the way through that I found the flow and started to really enjoy the read.

The idea is memory loss has always been interesting to me. When it serves as one of the major plot pieces, it adds a special twist that the story is as much of a mystery to the main character as it is to us!
This book drew me in, and while parts were a bit predictable, I enjoyed every second. I highly suggest this book!
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

This is an exciting modern thriller. I found it to be an interesting read and enjoyed the unusual storyline.

I liked this book! It kept me guessing and had enough twists that I couldn't figure out up until all was revealed- just what I like in a psychological thriller

A really good twisty, keep you guessing story which I thought I had sussed within the first 10 minutes, I was wrong! Chloe has been in an accident and can’t remember anything or anyone. Her family are doing their best to help her, or are they? Highly recommended.
My thanks to St Martin’s press and Netgalley for my ARC in return for an honest review.

A thriller that is set with a crash and amnesia could be tired but Adams builds a great story and great characters.

This slow-burning psychological thriller had me guessing right up to the end. I like how the author was able to build so many sympathetic characters even though you knew they couldn't all be telling the truth. A good read.

Waking up and not knowing where you are is scary, but waking up and not knowing who you are would be down right terrifying. This happens when Chloe wakes up after a near fatal car accident. An accident that is shrouded in it's own level of mystery.
Upon returning to her family home, Chloe can't help but feel out of place. Not seeming to fit in with her family, she manages to go along with what they say and the therapy sessions that her accomplished father provides. Unanswered questions and uncovered clues lead to more secrets and questions than Chloe is prepared to deal with.
Not knowing who to trust, Chloe launches her own crusade to find out who she was before the accident and what exactly happened the night that changed her life forever. Little does she know that danger lurks around every corner she turns.

What would you do if you woke up one day from a coma and could not remember a single detail from your past life? And no one was familiar, not even those who said they were family? Scary thought to me! But in this story, it's the exact situation of Chloe Daniels, The story in in first person present style, which I don't mind. Just thought I would throw that out there because I know a lot of people are not fans. As Chloe starts to recover and gain back her memory, she finds she's been lied to by everyone, and she no longer knows who to trust.
All in all a decent psychological thriller. The writing kept me engaged, even with a bit of a lag about midway, but it wasn't bad enough to make me want to stop reading and it picked back up. The characters were ok.
4 stars!

Launch! From the opening pages, this reviewer was hooked.
There are so many subtly creepy things going on in BETWEEN THE LIES that you hardly know where to throw your suspicions. Who is the master manipulator here? Why is no one in this family being honest with each other?
Amnesia is such a handy little tool to utilize in the writing of a crime novel but we promise there’s no need to groan when you see that it has been used once again in the writing of this thriller. It is this incremental seepage of Chloe’s returning memories that’ll give you that delicious slow dawning horror, bringing you gradually round to realize just how complex is this web of subterfuge, manipulation and outright lies. There are some serious manoeuvres being orchestrated around Chloe and as a grieving mother who has just been through enormous physical and mental trauma, the poor woman flounders to establish a foundation upon which to move forward. Chloe has no baseline, and there is a good reason for that.
Piece by piece the enormity emerges of what happened to Chloe and her son in the car accident. All the separate interactions in the lead up were relevant to that day.
There’s much you will need to keep a lazy eye on in the reading of this compulsive thriller, and the style of writing is such that you will want to hunker down and follow Chloe right through to the end. The reader is soon tucked up close with Chloe, and she is someone that you come to rapidly care about.
BETWEEN THE LIES is a very enjoyable read that delivers up all of the good stuff; twists, well written characters, and a purposeful march towards what was there all along.

*Thank you to Michelle Adams, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for this ARC!
Wow what a book! Adams crafts a fantastically mesmerizing story that will have you wondering what you would do if you were in Chloe Daniels (or her family's) shoes. The characters were well fleshed and their motives as complicated as our own. The ending was fantastic and although I was able to guess how {almost} everything wrapped up, I was still shocked by a few spectacular details! If you enjoy thrillers or a good mystery, this is a must buy!

3.5
This is an excellent psychological thriller. The author really kept me guessing as to who was on Chloe's side and who wasn't. So many potential bad guys (or girls). The suspense carried through right to the very end. Very entertaining!
My thanks to St. Matin's Press and Netgalley.

Chloe Daniels regains consciousness in hospital after an accident, and has no idea who she is or what is going. What unfolds is a cobweb of lies and mistruths which leave you guessing throughout the book. The plot is fairly predictable, but I did enjoy the twists and turns which make you trust certain characters one minute and then turn again them the next. Although Michelle Adams is a great writer, this book seemed to lose momentum halfway through and didn’t really pick up again. That being said, it’s an enjoyable read with a clever plot.

Between the Lies by Michelle Adams
Chlo was in a horrendous car crash that apparently killed her husband and son according to her family. Unfortunately for Cloe she had a head injury among others and does not remember anything, not the crash, not her life before the crash not her family...... nothing. Bits and pieces are starting to come back to her and her family are filling in some parts of it but are they being truthful with her? This was a slow building psychological thriller that may have been a bit predictable at times but still worth picking up and reading. Thank you Netgalley and St Martin's Press for this book and letting me leave my honest opinion. I would give this 3.5 stars out of 5.

When Chloe Daniels wakes up in the hospital, she has no memory. She doesn’t remember the car accident that put her there. She doesn’t remember what happened to her son or husband. And she doesn’t remember the individuals standing in front of her claiming to be her parents and younger sister. But then, a head injury like she had can do that to you.
As the weeks go by, and Chloe struggles to remember anything about herself, about her past life, about the night that changed everything, she has to use all her strength just to figure out the truth from lies. Little by little, she remembers moments. Some are in line with what her parents are telling her happened . . . and some aren’t. But her dreams are vivid, and she’s convinced that there is a part of her that knows the truth. She just has to find a way to connect all the dots and the truth can set her free.
Michelle Adams’ slow burn thriller Between the Lies is a complicated story. There are those who are lying to Chloe to try to protect her, and there are those who are lying to Chloe to try to influence her, and she is alone in her fight to get to the truth. There were times it was hard to read because of all the manipulation. The writing itself was beautiful, but the story was painful. It was enjoyable, but not the fantastic thriller I was hoping for.
Galleys for Between the Lies were provided by St. Martin’s Press through NetGalley, with many thanks.
