Long Live the Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott is a deeply emotional and poignant romance that explores themes of healing, grief, and finding love after loss. The story follows two characters with broken pasts who help each other heal and discover the strength to move forward. Scott’s writing is beautifully crafted, blending heartache with hope, and creating a connection that is both tender and powerful. It’s a must-read for fans of slow-burn romances with emotional depth and uplifting messages about love and resilience.
Long Live the Beautiful Hearts is the absolutely heart-wrenching conclusion to the Beautiful Hearts series. After finishing Bring Down the Stars, I absolutely NEEDED to know what happened next for Connor, Weston, and Autumn. The story was beautifully written and had me rooting for the characters to sort out their mess!
**You definitely need to read Bring Down the Stars first**
This pair of books truly broke my heart and sewed it back together again. There honestly wasn't a single part of this book that I didn't love. It was so wonderfully well written and brought out such raw emotions. I don't typically cry when reading but there were a few parts where I shed a few tears as the characters dealt with the situations they'd been given. As the reader, you truly just want them to find their happiness. I honestly wish that I could read both books for the first time again with fresh eyes!
Thank you to NetGalley and Emma Scott for the arc in return for an honest review!
5 bright shining stars! I am obsessed with Emma Scott. The way she can write with such emotion is a true gift. This book was no exception.
I rarely include quotes in my reviews. I am more a short and sweet to the point gal but this stuck with me...
Long live the beautiful hearts
Like yours
That beat with infinite depth
Canyons of forgiveness
Cathedrals of beauty and love
Their doors wide open
A haven to weary runners
Whose race has ended.

“Grief comes in waves…This is a wave. You’re underwater but it’ll pass.”
This book is very emotional. Lots of tissues are needed!
I don't want to say any more for fear of ruining it. Reading this caused me to buy Full Tilt with hope to feel the same type of emotion this series made me feel.
Thank You NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.
LONG LIVE THE BEAUTIFUL HEARTS broke my heart over and over again. LONG LIVE THE BEAUTIFUL HEARTS continues where Bring Down the Stars left off and yes it’s an emotional rollercoaster ride from the very first page. Autumn is from a farm in a small town in Nebraska. Weston is from a broken home in Massachusetts. His best friend is Connor, a rich kid who seems to have it all. I was extremely nervous for Weston and Connor because it was apparent that so much was at stake. You are going to fall in love with Weston right away. He is very protective of Autumn and you are going to swoon over him on almost every page. He would love her forever if he had the chance to. Stories like LONG LIVE THE BEAUTIFUL HEARTS are exactly why I love to read.
Once again, Emma Scott owes me a box of tissues! LONG LIVE THE BEAUTIFUL HEARTS shredded my heart over and over again! What an emotional story this is! When I was finished reading I couldn’t get Weston and Connor out of my head and went through half a box of tissues thinking about them! I can honestly tell you this, I am going to read everything that Emma Scott has written and she will be an auto buy for me from now on. LONG LIVE THE BEAUTIFUL HEARTS had my emotions all over the place and near the end, I was afraid to keep reading. I thought I knew what was coming, knew it was going to shatter my heart and took a four hour break to prepare myself for what was going to wreck me!
LONG LIVE THE BEAUTIFUL HEARTS is an unforgettable story that will grab you from the very first page. I was crying so much, happy and sad tears, while praying for Connor and Weston as well as Autumn. The emotions and feelings from the characters become your own. While reading I was even holding my breath at some parts and I was afraid to keep going. How much more heartache and grief could Autumn put up with? I am so happy I finally read this beautiful duet, but I’m really kicking myself for taking so long to read it. I can now try to move on, knowing the ending. LONG LIVE THE BEAUTIFUL HEARTS is an emotional tale filled with hardships, broken dreams, love, friendship, strength, second chances and new beginnings. Emma Scott’s writing has made me a forever fan and I’m sure I will devour everything she has written or has yet to write. Her characters are not perfect, they all come with flaws but that won’t stop you from falling in love with them. I can not wait to read more by this fabulous author and have my heart broken all over again.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book was on a Kindle device that I no longer have access to. I had tried finding in my cloud but was not able to locate to read and review. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for chance to read and review.
Could not put this book down. It was incredibly beautiful. Every moment was amazing and I will definitely read more books by Emma Scott.
This book was so beautifully written and gave me all the feels. It was incredible. I honestly don't have adequate words to express how much I loved this story. Pure perfection.
This was a great conclusion to the Beautiful Hearts duets! Emma Scott hasa way of making you root for every single character’s happy ending and making you sympathize with them. I really enjoyed this new duet and the last words of the book were magnificent! ❤️
Bring the Kleenex. This book picks up shortly after Bring Down the Stars ends. The continuation and the events that happen in this book have left me completely speechless. All three main characters have continued to develop and become better. I honestly can't say more than that without spoilers.
I’m still suffering from a lack of words to describe how this book made me feel. I know this novel came from a place of grief and darkness that the author was experiencing and the truth to her words and raw emotion that was stitched into each page of this book was breathtaking. The pain and loss both physically and emotionally was so exquisitely written. It’s been quite some time since I’ve read a book that made me laugh, cry, gasp, cringe and smile. I felt every human emotion during Long Live the Beautiful Hearts. And I felt them deeply.
The aftermath of war and sacrifice for Connor and Weston was gut wrenching. Their experiences and the fall out of what they’d endured broke me. Parts of them were left in Syria, ultimately the most beautiful parts. It broke my heart to read of the suffering and trauma they both we’re experiencing after arriving back stateside. The feelings they hid, the emotions they denied. And at the center of all of it was Autumn.
My heart swelled with joy when the truth came out and all 3 characters were forced to face the consequences of what they’d done. I hoped the author would find a way to make it right, and did she ever! I loved every minute of this book. Even the crippling sadness and burning anger. It made the tender and passionate moments so much more gratifying.
I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to this journey. The closure was perfection.
This duology reminded me how much I love slow burn romance, poetry and a good amount of angst.
Damn, on the edge of my seat the entire time with tears in my eyes.
My emotions are all over the place with this one! Once again, Emma Scott delivered a poignant and brilliant story! I truly don't want to spoil anything, seeing as this is a sequel, but I will say to prepare for even more emotions and tears... Lots and lots of tears. Prepare for the twists that will happen at every corner (it felt that way for me). And prepare for an ending that you'll love, except you'll hate not spending more time with these characters.
This book broke me! I thought the first book in the duet was the most angst filled book I ever read until I got to this one! At it's core it is a beautiful love story and the journey is well worth it but read it with a box of tissues nearby.
The first book was beautiful, the second book was even more amazing. The wait was worth it! I absolutely love the characters and the story. So,so in love with everything about this story line. 100% recommend.
Such a beautiful love story!!! Though this Emma Scott book/duet didn't tug at my heart strings and make me an emotional wreck like some of her others, it was still an enjoyable ride! I'm a sucker for a slow burn, HEA and boy did this book deliver! You come to love the characters despite all their flaws and are so invested in their endings - endings that did not disappoint. This is a wonderful duet for those of you who love a good poetic, angsty, slow burn, new adult romance!
Ugh, it is hard to write about this book without being too spoilery! I will say that I enjoyed this book so much more than the first ( I really don't enjoy cliffhangers ). The author's note though, holy cow.
This left me an emotional wreck and breathless. I didn't want the book to stop. I will be a lifelong fan of Emma Scott because of this duet.
4 stars
If you love a book which will take you by the hand and lead you through all the feels, then this is for you. The crafting hits all the necessary touchstones and when you finish, your heart is full.
Oh my gosh I loved loved loved this book.
This is the second book in the duet about Autumn, Weston and Connor who meet a college. Autumn ends in a relationship with Connor but it never feels right until Weston in secret helps Connor with his words and poems. In the end of the first book Weston and Connor enters the military and gets sent to Afghanistan. Weston tries to save Connor from a bomb and you don’t know what happens to them until this book.
Now I don’t want to ruin what happens so just know that it is a very beautiful, poetic, heartbreaking, heartwarming all around amazing book about finding out who you are when you can’t be who you thought you were going to be and can people forgive you when you can’t even forgive yourself.
I love this story but I also procrastinated reading it because I knew it would be hard to read. I fell in love with the characters in the first book and I knew this book would break my heart and get me sobbing again. But I am also so happy that I read it because I actually got the conclusion that I was hoping for plus a surprise relationship that I definitely didn’t expect but loved just the same.
I can definitely recommend this book.
I got this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Book 1 left me with so many emotions and yet, I had to immediately start this book.
In this book, we follow the journey of love between Autumn and Weston, a journey that started with friendship but turned into so much more.
But how can it be true when it is all based on lies?
To know what it is about, you have to first read the first part – Bring Down the Stars.
I have to say, just as in the first book, I didn’t particularly liked Connor in this book too. I understand why he did what he did after everything went down and he saw Weston for the first time, but at the same time I think he should be there for him. After everything Weston did for him I would at least expect some kind of gratitude.
Autumn was so strong in this book. I loved how invested she was in her friendship with Weston, how she wanted to help but at the same time not push Weston around.
And Weston, my Weston. What he had to go through is unimaginable. I’m so glad he found the light in his situation and that he and Autumn went through all together.
Emma Scott brings you a very emotional rollercoaster with these two books. I’ve been following her on social media so I know a little of what went behind this story. The Before and After of it. Thank you so much, dear author, for sharing this story of us. It was simply beautiful.
5 stars.
ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
