THIS BOOK IS NOT A STANDALONE YOU MUST FIRST REQUEST BRING DOWN THE STARS
Never again would I allow my heart to become the plaything of someone else.
Never again would I let a man (or men) come between me and my goals.
Never again would I love without feeling the fullness of that love in return. Not until I knew it was real. And if that took me a lifetime to find, so be it.
Those were my vows, and after all that had happened with Connor and Weston, I was determined to keep them. To protect my heart. And then he came home, and my vows became his promises.
He held my heart in his hands with reverence and care. He helped me find my soul’s greatest purpose in life. He loved me with a love so pure and vibrant, I knew I’d never feel anything like it in a hundred lifetimes. It was real. Until it wasn’t. Until it all came crashing down when I discovered the deep love I thought I’d found was nestled in a web of lies—so soft and silken I hadn’t noticed it was there. Until it was too late.

Long Love The Beautiful Hearts
By: Emma Scott
📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚
Beautiful Heart at the core!!!
In the conclusion of Emma Hearts duet we get to see this beautiful love story to the end. And let me tell you this book has all the feels and then some. Oh yeah don’t start this book at bedtime because sleep won’t happen. There were moments I didn't think my heart could handle much more. There were scenes that simply stole my breath away, that forced me to close the book a moment and step away to collect myself. But there is so much beauty in this book as well. It filled my heart just as completely as it broke it wide open. This is a story of acceptance and perseverance and second chances. It's a story of picking yourself up when you never think you'll be able to again and deciding where to go from here. It's powerful and mesmerizing and sweet. There are simply no adequate words to convey my love for this story. Even at the very heart of this duet is Autumn Caldwell. She is the very epitome of selfless, always finding that silver lining when even the most darkest of clouds may come her way. She's so strong now more than ever, her ability to dig her way through disappointment and tragedy was never more evident. I truly admire her and her fierce ability to continue to love and forgive no matter how much that might hurt.
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
I don't even know that I have the words to tell you how much I loved this book. This one starts off emotional and strong. It wasn't quite what I expected, but I ended up loving the direction Emma Scott took this story. I grew to really love Autumn, Weston, and Connor. How everything worked out wasn't always easy, but it was perfect. The easy moments were almost too easy, but I didn't mind that because I felt everything come full circle. Bravo, Emma Scott. You did your readers, yourself, and your precious daughter right.
Please note, this 2nd book. DO NOT read this book until you've read the first one.
***
At the end of book one, we don't know what's become of Weston and Connor.
My husband asked me why I was not reading my book (#2). I told him "I'm scared". Once I got into it, I could not stop turning the pages.
What about Autumn? She's back in Nebraska to visit her family on the farm.
Her dad's slowly recovering. What will she do when she finds out about Connor & Weston?
Autumn really is the steady supportive influence to both of the guys.
She steps up and shows her strength.
Weston has to hit rock bottom before he finds and makes his own breaks. He really needs one!
Connor has tremendous guilt. There's an urge to yell at him and say be grateful! That's easier said than done. That makes him feel worse. That's a part of the dilemma and a key to recovery.
There's love between Connor and Autumn, Weston and Autumn, and yes, most of all Connor and Weston. They have a major rift between them.
How do they get their HEA? Will they get an HEA? What is their new normal?
I should mention a key supporting character in these 2 books. Dr O, Weston's English professor and his mentor. He guides Weston, not just in his studies. His passion(s).
There are 2 other supporting characters close to Autumn: Ruby, Autumn's long time college roommate & bff (she plays a key role in both books), also: Armond, Autumn's boss at the bakery. A singing romantic lovable baker. He knows the score and watches while the 3 figure it out for themselves.
The ending was fabulous, the epilogue was good-I did want a little more into the future. I guess that I know them all so well, I can certainly imagine and see it clearly in my own mind.
I read these 2 books one after the other.
I mentioned the ending but the journey was the key, of course. No just snapping your fingers.
4.5 stars, rounding up to 5 for such a great story. Huge and very relevant issues. Terrific writing and characters that I cared about. PS, My husband asked about "my book" & wanted to check out the ending. Another very important PS: PTSD is real and needs much more attention.
Bravo! Standing ovation is what this book deserves. Knowing ones self worth is tantamount in life, love and relationships. Forgiveness, belief in yourself and achieving your dreams are huge themes in this story. Sacrifice and the choice to do it again even knowing what its costs, shows how much love and brotherhood there is between Wes and Conner and why their dynamic with Autumn is so precarious. Grabs you from the start and mends your heart by the last page. A must read after Bring Down the Stars.
I was an actual puddle at the end of Bring Down the Stars, and I pretty much shed a ton of tears when I started this book too. Scott, once again, delivered an stunning story, which took me on an emotional ride.
There were so many big themes explored in this book, and Scott did it beautifully. This book was about second chances, living life to its fullest, and embracing new realities. It was about not giving up and finding your passion. It was about forgiveness and new beginnings. But most of all, it was about love.
I feel really limited about what I can mention, because the whole premise of the second book is kind of spoilery, but I will share some things I adored.
• So emotional! I was happy, I was sad, I was mad, but I was grateful to go on this journey.
• Lots of twists and surprises, good surprises.
• An extremely satisfying ending with lots of closure.
• I got to share so many beautiful and heartwarming moments with these characters, and my heart filled with joy, over and over again.
The first book sort of broke me, but this one put my heart back together and filled it with joy.
I don't think I can adequately express how much this series meant to me. Long Live the Beautiful Hearts is the second book in the Beautiful Hearts series, Bring Down the Stars is book #1. I highly recommend reading book #1 first before ever attempting to read this book. You need to get the full effect of ALL of the emotions in both books.
There aren't a lot of books I say this about but holy cow, this book was perfect. It was so full of thought provoking thoughts and so MANY feelings. The angst. The love. The relationships. The friendships. JUST SO MUCH. In the best way. This series is amazing. The relationship and friendships that have been created in book #1 and this book just flew off the pages. They were so organic and real. Emma Scott certainly has a way with words and pulling the heart strings.
I found myself crying so many times. I won't lie - there is unrequited love and broken trust in this book. However, there are some great life lessons interwoven with these story lines. Long Live the Beautiful Hearts finishes up the love triangle between Autumn, Weston, and Conner <-- this is why you need to read book #1. Also, without giving away too much, this series also covers topics as broad as veterans and PTSD which was informative to read about.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this book and this series. I'm in love with Emma Scott's writing!
Speechless. This book hooked me from the first page and I felt every feeling to the depths of my soul. Every word was perfection!
I loved every character and their family dynamics. I loved watching these characters grow and fall in/out of love. Weston,Connor, and Autumn were perfect characters and i loved the bromance between Connor and Weston. I finished this book with tears in my eyes and my heart full. Major book hangover with this duet!😍
5+ stars for sure!!
Wow! This was incredibly poignant and at times so utterly gut wrenching, but in the end this amazing conclusion to the Beautiful Hearts duet put all the shattered pieces of my heart back together. What an amazing epic love story about so many different kinds of love, pain, strength and forgiveness. I am in such awe of this author's talent after reading this phenomenal, beautiful and emotional story! It is definitely up there in my top 10 of 2018 to date!
I received this ARC for an honest review. You must read the first book “Bring Down the Stars”. I loved every minute of this book. This one continued after Wes & Connor come back from war injured, and they accidentally injured Autunm when they got home. I will try my best not to give too much away. I can’t talk about what happens because it will ruin it for you. This story is about love, forgiveness, friendship, and finding peace. This is so beautifully written. The emotions just poured from the pages. I just loved everything about the two books. Just thinking about the story brings out my emotions.
***5 "This is where I'm supposed to be!!!" stars***
How can I touch you
With these dirty hands
Lined with grime and guilt
Pushing my broken body?
Through life that doesn’t feel so broken
Hour by hour
Minute by minute
The scaffolding around me
falling away...
I am born for the second time
Emerging from the darkest night
Into the light where you are
Waiting
If only I could see you with these eyes
And speak the truth with this breath
And touch you with something more
real and good than these
dirty hands.
Yep, Emma Scott did it again!!!! And she will keep doing it again and again, i think!!!!
Another one soul capturing duet from her pen, another one heartbreakingly love story that will stay with me forever!!!!
This was the perfect finale for our heroes after all those ugly things that they had to face...
For once again, love show us her beautiful face when ugly things were happening around her!!!
And yep, the conclusion in here was EPIC!!!
"THERE IS NOTHING THAT LOVE CAN'T FORGIVE."
I won't say much about the plot, since it's the second part in this wonderful story and i hate doing spoilers!!!
Funny thing is that when i started this duet, i got comfused and accidentally i started book number two and at some point i realized that something was seriously wrong since i was feeling that i was missing important things!!!! But thank God, even though i "stole" in a way, it didn't ruin the story for me!!!!
"She's in love with my soul," Connor said. "And my soul is you..."
Well, in here, we witness the greatness and the beauty of the hearts!!! Weston's, Autumn's and of course, Connor's, even though the last one made me really angry in the better half of this book!!!
I understood his pain, but he took the cowardish way and i hated it!!!!
Thank God that he got the "help" that he was actually needed the most and he pulled out his head from his a$$!!!
In this point, it will be great to add that this friendship between the boys was... unique and magnificent!!!
“Stay with him. And keep holding his hand, Autumn. No matter what happens. Don’t let go of him.” {Connor}
Also, in this installment, we realized also how beautiful was Autumn's heart!!! Because in Weston's ugliest moments, she stayed behind him and she was strong for both of them...
As for Weston's beautiful heart??? He truly lost himself, but he was a fighter and he managed with Autumn's help to put the lost pieces of his self back, even though not in their fully normal place.
Those two were so perfect for each other and i curse the universe for the lost time!!!!
Oops!!! I think that i already said too much, so I'm stopping now!!!
“Do you remember the last time we spoke?” Professor O said. “I observed you were a runner, a poet, and a warrior.”
“I’m none of those now,” I said. “I can’t run, I can’t write, and I got nothing to fight for.”
To my astonishment, tears filled the man’s eyes.
“My God, Wes,” he said, his voice cracked. “Nothing to fight for? Fight for you. For who you are. At long last, fight for yourself and what you love. Who you love.”
"For the first time in my life, I know who I am and what I want, and it's a greater joy than I thought possible. It's real, this feeling. I love him.
And I love this love because it's ours." {Autumn}
If you have read Emma Scott's other works, you should read this duet too!!!
If you haven't ever read something of hers, you don't know what you're missing, so get started immediately!!!!
Long live the beautiful hearts
Like yours
That beat with infinite depth
Canyons of forgiveness
Cathedrals of beauty and love
Their doors wide open
A haven to weary runners
Whose race has ended.
Long live the twice born hearts
Like mine.
It beats only for you
My love
Unending and infinite,
I will take you with me
Into the next life
And a thousand beyond that
Always.
Forever.

I reviewed the series in whole:
Emma Scott is on my short list of all-time favorite authors. I read this series in two days. I could not put my iPad down! What I found utterly unique about this author's style of writing was her way of weaving the experiences and thoughts of the characters together. The story bounced beautifully to Connor, Weston, and Autumn. The story left nothing unsaid or unknown to the reader and I was blown away each chapter. The second, most absolutely fantastic part about this series are the key messages and takeaways about love, disability, and trust. I have never read such an incredible story about disability until I read the second book in this series. I was rooting for Weston the entire time. His character, life, hardship... just wow. The ending is as exactly as it should have been for these characters. Nothing felt cliche or predictable; simply "magnificent". Get your box of tissues out. I was sobbing through several parts of the second book. I already stocked up on a few more books from Scott for the holiday season.
A book hadn't made me so emotional in a very long time. And that's saying a lot as I read Kingdom of Ash just last month. Wow. Just wow.
I find it a lot harder to talk about this book compared to the first in the duology. Lets just say it left its mark. A deep one. It was such a beautiful, gut-wrenching, and unforgettable read.
The poems in this book deserve their own separate book. They left me wanting more. They left me wanting my own Weston even though he was a moody asshole most of the time.
This review doesn't do this book justice as I'm still lost for words after finishing it this morning. All I can say is, read it. I'm so glad I'm finding out about books I never might have known about thanks to NetGalley.
This story is absolutely fantastic!
This second book makes you think how your life can change in just a few days. But you can't give up. You have to keep on going and learn to live with yourself again. And adapt your life to your new circumstances.
I don't want to say much because I don't want to spoil this wonderful book for the rest of the readers.
I loved the characters, especially Wes. Although I hated some of them in some moments, But at the end, I just cried like a baby ad forgave them. Just like Autumn would have done.
5+ Beautiful Heart Stars
I was lucky enough to be able to read Long Live the Beautiful Hearts straight after finishing the first book, Bring Down the Stars. The impact of reading them back-to-back was immense. Once again Emma has written the conclusion to this epic love story so beautifully and full of emotional feels.
My heart was sore and sad with the hardships that Weston, Connor and Autumn had to face and deal with. Love and friendship will be tested and truths will be revealed.
The Beautiful Hearts Duet was an emotional reading experience and I highly recommend this duet as well as all and anything Emma Scott puts into writing.
Many thanks to the author and NetGalley for my copy to read and review.
This book made me so happy. Mostly because it progressed into the happily ever after I was hoping for from book 1. I wanted both these men I’d fallen in such love with to find happiness after the horrors of war they had witnessed that had left both with such physical, mental and emotional scars. They both needed women who would.. make them want to keep fighting for life and that is exactly what Emma Scott gave us. And can I just say, I’m so incredibly thankful for this ending because a lot of authors would have killed off the third in a love triangle but this author managed to give everyone in her book an ending that made this particular gushy and weepy for probably days to come. Thank you a million times over Emma Scott for writing a book that made my heart happy in so many different ways.
I wasn't really sure which avenue this author was going to take for the second part of this duet. She could have chosen so many avenues, because at the ending of first part of this duet, we were literally left in the unknown. I will say that, this is most definitely not your average duet. Nor is it your average ending. I have never seen anything remotely close to the second half of a duet. It is so different, but more unique than anything I have ever read. It is one of those things that shows you that, your happily ever is what you choose it to be, no matter what your circumstances are.
The second half of this duet was hard on me. I normally read to escape reality, to live in a fictional world, and this book was like living reality. A very hard reality. It shows you no matter what life throws at you, no matter what obstacles you face, you choose your fate, your own reality. Emma Scott's writing is so profound, and heartfelt that it almost makes it unbearable to read. It is brutal, but beautiful. Raw but challenging, so damn challenging. I literally have no words. Life is so unfair to so many deserving people, and most of us do not even take the time to notice that.
This book has challenged me to be more aware, more humble. I am not going to say more, because this book, ahh this book needs to speak for itself.
Do I recommend it?? Absolutely.
Where do I begin? This book was amazing! I am talking like I wanted to hop on a plane and find Emma Scott and just hug the heck out her lol of course in a non stalker kind of way! Emma Scott should be on everyone's radar! She is an amazing writer and when I finish a book by her I'm like omg she keeps out doing herself!
Long Live The Beautiful Hearts continues the story from Bring Down the Stars and wow I am seriously at a lost of world. The emotions that Emma made me feel was amazing. Though my husband got a good laugh at my ugly cry face. All I can say is these two books are amazing and a must read! #Perfection
I was somewhat intimidated to finish this series. But I couldn’t NOT want to read the conclusion to Beautiful Hearts duet. Bring Down the Stars was powerful enough through it’s depiction of a love triangle. We were left feeling EVERYTHING AND MORE. WILL THERE BE A HAPPY ENDING FOR EVERYONE!? Long Live The Beautiful Hearts delivers on a grand scale. So much more than I anticipated. Left me feeling awestruck and wandering.
I am going to be vague because you need to witness this story yourself.
At the center of the story is our heroine Autumn who is always seemingly finding that sliver of hope or silver lining in a clouded gray sky. She has more courage and resiliency than I have read from another lead in quite a while. You can’t help but admire her ability to stride forward endless heartache and tragedy.
I said in my previous review this is a duet you CAN’T miss. It’s addictive and captivating till the very last page. Is is crazy to admit that I held my breath during several paragraphs? There were a few times I had felt a queasiness and my own heart seemed to gallop through each and every word. And then crash afterword?
This story delves deeper into the meaning of tomorrow never comes. It’s full of missed chances and impulses and what if’s that are so intense, you can practically feel the regret and sorrow. It’s also full of hope that somehow everything wrong will be righted. ATTENTION: have tissues on hand again.
It’s incredible. This duet will be put on my favorites list forever. I have a deep admiration for Emma Scott and her story. Don’t be too intimidated to read this duet or you will miss out on such a inspiring story full of everything we want and don’t want and sometimes need.
I received the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, Netgalley and the publisher.
I loved Loved LOVED Bring Down The Stars , the emotional introduction into the Beautiful Hearts series.
I couldn’t wait to read Long Love The Beautiful Hearts.
People, It’s just as brutal as I imagined it to be.
This series wrecked me body and soul.
The last time I felt such a strong affinity to a book that was as turbulent as this series was It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover and Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan. THIS SERIES IS PURE MAGIC.
‘Emotional’ doesn’t sum it up. This book, this series is a must read.
Powerful, heartbreaking and hopeful. Long Live The Beautiful Hearts is a story filled with courage, determination, hope and honestly? a little bit of stubbornness. hahaha
This series WILL take you along a journey where you, as readers, will feel every rise and fall of these characters.
Beautiful Hearts series by Emma Scott is exquisite!
A Must MUST Read. Highly recommend it.
*I am grateful to have been given this book as an ARC from NetGalley. All opinions are mine.*
I just want to start out by saying that I devoured this book. After reading the first one, I could NOT put the second one down until I knew what was going to happen to the two boys. And let me tell you, this book did NOT disappoint. I was a bit surprised that it took so long for Autumn to find out that it was Weston who was writing to her, not Connor, but once she did she forgave them both a lot faster than I would have. But I'm the type of person who holds grudges and doesn't give second chances, so there's that. I am a bit sad that there won't be a third book in the series, but I think that Ms. Scott did a good job of wrapping up the duology and giving the characters the futures that they deserved. Once again, the writing was beautiful and the characters were just so heartfelt and real that I couldn't help but feel for them. I also liked that even though this was a spin on the Cyrano story (which I mentioned in my first review) that the "problem" for lack of a better word, with Weston wasn't the fact that he couldn't walk, it was his attitude toward himself that made him feel like he didn't deserve love. His injury was a second thought, which for a lot of veteran's isn't an option. I love that Autumn loved him in spite of it, because a lot of veterans and their significant others struggle with navigating a relationship after life changing injuries.
I was really impressed with the fact that Ms. Scott brought up the way we treat people with physical disabilities. It is a very uncomfortable topic for a lot of people because no one wants to be the one to say something offensive or to hurt anyone's feelings. In doing so, however, we can make people that are differently abled feel like they are less than. It is something I work on every day in my own personal life. Even though I like my cheesy romances to be just that, it's kinda surprising and nice when one of them makes me think a little bit more.
I also did a little research into Ms. Scott's personal life after reading her note about why she wasn't continuing with the series, and my heart absolutely goes out to her. To be able to face such tragedy and create something so absolutely amazing makes this series a little more heartbreaking and a whole lot more special. I applaud her for continuing to create.
5 dandelion stars!
I swear to God I can't find the words that would do this book justice. I don't know if it's even possible, but this work of fiction changed me . It changed how I view things, how I view life which I took for granted by the way and how we turn our sorrows, pains and heartbreaks into something wonderful, hopeful and beautiful.
