This book drew me in with the dutch oven on the front cover. Not only does it cover meals that I can use with my dutch oven but also other pots and pans from my kitchen. I like simple and delicious meals. I also like cookbooks that inspire. I found both of these things to be true of this one. With 120 recipes, I’m sure to find variety and something to simply satisfy my family.
I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The photographs were colorful and appealing. The recipes were easy to understand and clearly described. I can't wait to try the tilapia tacos.
THIS is a busy mom's type of cookbook! Not many ingredients, and just one pot/pan/cookie sheet, is perfect for what I need for most weeknights! (I love the complex cookbooks, too, but as a practical matter I cannot make those fancy recipes on a daily basis.) This would be a good cookbook for a child learning to cook, a college student, or any person in an apartment or house with a small kitchen and limited cookware.
Absolutely love! There are so many delicious recipes. They are written simply and straightforward which I really appreciated. The tips are also very nice for those that are just learning to cook. The pictures are also great and you get hungry looking at them.
This was a very well written cookbook. I found the layout to flow well and the recipes were easy to understand and follow along to. I look forward to trying some of them out for my family.
5-Ingredient One Pot Cookbook: Easy Dinners from Your Skillet, Dutch Oven, Sheet Pan & More, by Linda Kurniadi, is a great cookbook for busy cooks everywhere. The cookbook includes recipes that are made in one pan, especially skillets, Dutch ovens, and sheet pans. No special appliances needed. Many of the recipes are suitable for busy weeknights.
The best things about this cookbook are that the recipes are simple and require minimal ingredients. The recipes are also for dishes that will appeal to almost everyone. Many call for convenience foods like canned soups, which make the recipes even faster to put together. Most of the recipes are for full meals, including protein, starch, and vegetables. The Sheet Pan Cajun Shrimp is delicious and easy, and the Loaded Zucchini Boats are a perfect way to use that zucchini in a quick and easy way. There are lots of good chicken breast recipes, including Honey Mustard Chicken, Lemon Chicken with Asparagus, and a Chicken-Edamame Salad. The Thai Glazed Salmon is quick, easy, and delicious, and will become a go-to for those who try it. There are Mu Shu Pork Tacos, Peppercorn Pork Chips, and an easy version of Turkey and Biscuit Bake.
Kurniadi has included quick and easy soups, and dishes using pork, seafood, chicken, vegetables, and beef, so there is something for everyone.
Although there are a few pictures, there aren’t pictures of every dish, which is unfortunate, given that technology is advanced and there is no excuse for not including pictures. Nevertheless, the recipes are good and the book is a good one for busy cooks. For those cooks who are busy and don’t have a lot of time, this is an excellent cookbook to own.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
The good:
-Each recipe has the full caloric breakdowns, so you are able to look at that information in case you need to stick to certain dietary restrictions.
-The word "pot" in the title is just a tiny bit misleading, though in a good way.. Some of the recipes are all baked together on a sheet pan, some are all sautéed together in the same pan, etc.
-There's a variety of recipes...this isn't just a collection for family dinners, etc.; instead, it's a collection of things you can either make just for home or bring out.
The "eh" (not really bad, just a personal preference issue):
-No real pictures. For me, how food looks is important and I know I'm not alone on this. Also, I find when cooking that if I know what it should look like when finished, I can catch any errors I'm making along the way.
Easy to follow recipes that are reliable every time. Quick, easy, and one pot! What more can you ask for!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
5-Ingredient One Pot Cookbook: Easy Dinners from Your Skillet, Dutch Oven, Sheet Pan & More by Linda Kurniadi offers readers a selection of one pot meals to help make meal planning and cooking easier, more enjoyable, and healthy. From waking up with a Tex-Mex Omelette to winding down your day with Chicken Cordon Bleu or a Ravioli and Spinach Bake for dinner, this cookbook offers low-effort, delicious dishes that need only one pot and 5 main ingredients to make. With most recipes requiring only 30 minutes or less to prepare, cook, and serve—and others that only take 20 minutes or less— the 5-Ingredient One Pot Cookbook gets you in and out of the kitchen in no time at all. The book also includes shopping and storage tips, along with an overview of cooking techniques for every piece of cookware. It is organized by cooking vessel and features skillet, saucepan, Dutch oven, sheet pan, baking dish, roasting pan, and no-cook bowl recipes.
5-Ingredient One Pot Cookbook was a well organized and useful resource. I like the way the book is organized, the information given on the different cookware, and how tips to adapt recipes to change ingredients or cooking tools can be done. Since I changed jobs this past summer, I have become more intent on meal planning and keeping the dishes simple, since my husband has had to take over the actual cooking part. I get the groceries, some of the prep work, and gather everything together for cooking ease. This also means a slow cooker meal about once a week. The recipes in the book help me get new recipes together, while not making my husband feel like a short order cook or under pressure to put together something complicated- while still mixing things up a little and making food the whole family will eat. It is hard to meet all those requirements in a single meal, but some of these recipes will fit the bill, or inspired me. The instructions and information is easy to understand and put into practice. I learned some great tips that I had never heard before, and am looking forward to trying out some new dishes.
I love cookbooks, so this was going to be a hit with me, I just knew it. Other factors in the title gave it right away, five ingredients and one pot. These delicious recipes can be made using a single pot, skillet, pan, Dutch oven, etc. All the recipes are cleverly found in the pot in which it may be cooked. I have a lot of recipe books, and a lot that I love, but this one is one I will buy for gifts for friends, or weddings, house warming, etc. I was honored to have the kindle version, but I am going to go and get the hardcopy as soon as possible too.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgally for the honor of reviewing this book. Highly recommended.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy from Rockridge Press and Netgalley for my unbiased opinion of the book. This is a great cookbook for the busy family or someone just learning to cook the recipes are easy to follow and execute. It will help you spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your family. I loved it!!! I tried Skillet Ravioli in Marinara Sauce, Mushroom Udon Soup, Chicken Madeira. I can't wait to cook my way through it.
This is my kind of cookbook! Simple and straightforward recipes that are chocked full of ingredients I already have on hand. I also got some new ideas to try.
I am a fairly experienced cook and I LOVE one-pot cooking! These are mostly easy recipes with clear instructions and easy to find ingredients. I have only recently discovered the ease of sheet-pan cooking and am looking forward to trying more of those. This would be great for someone just beginning to cook for their family!
My husband and I are retired but love working outside for most of the day. So when we come in at the end of the day, I do not want to have to cook multiple recipes that will take a large crew to clean up after. This book fit our needs perfectly. I had already made some one pot meals by experimenting with different ingredients, some good, some definitely not to be tried again. This book gave me many already tested recipes that have proven success plus different ideas on how to cook them to decrease my family's groans when I tell them it's a new recipe!!! Seriously, if you are looking to change up your menu while keeping the fuss and muss to a minimum, I recommend this book. It would also make a great gift for an unexperienced cook.
A super great new one-pot cookbook with recipes that only need 5 ingredients. Recipes look easy to use with easy to find ingredients. Nothing too fancy or difficult. Looking forward to owning this one.
As a busy mom with a full time job, I seriously love recipes that don't require a lot of dirty dishes. This cookbook is perfect for that! I think sheet pan cooking is my new favorite, but I marked a ton of recipes to try in this book. I also liked that it gives you options to do make ahead freezer meals. Only personal downside to this cookbook, is that there are quite a few seafood recipes and my family is picky/ won't eat seafood. So far, we have really enjoyed the ravioli and spinach bake, the garlic-parmesan chicken wings, and chicken pot pie. Yummy!

This would be a good cookbook for aspiring cooks new to cooking at home or those with busy schedules. The recipes are easy to follow, contain minimal ingredients, and seem quick to make. I also appreciated the recipes used mostly real foods and not many processed ingredients. The information in the beginning is very basic, so if you've been cooking for a while you won't find that helpful. I also found many of the recipes were the same or similar to ones I already have in my repertoire. Thank you to Callisto Media for this ARC.
Easy cookbook to read. All the receipt are good and easy to make.
very colorful, and well organized book.
Being a vegetarian can make finding new recipes a little difficult. I really appreciated all of the variation of dairy-free and gluten free options that were included. I am also a sucker for nutritional information. This is a great all around cookbook to add to your shelf if you eat meat. If you have a specialty diet this is still a good book to get inspiration from and adapt the recipes.
Lots of good basic recipes to make meal prep simple. Most ingredients are already in in cupboards to it is easy to find a recipe and prepare without going to the store.
