This is a romance novel with a paranormal twist with a hint of mystery. The story starts out on the Hillwood farm owned by the Turner family. Their husband/grandfather just recently passed away. Some strange occurrences started to occur in the house. Alice aka Gram thought it was her recently deceased husband but the ghost is acting in a violent way. Luke is Grams handsome grandson who lives on the farm after his grandfather passed away to help take care of the place. Gram calls in a paranormal specialist Callie who has a crazy past herself. She sees spirits and avoids people because of this ability. The book grabs your attention quickly as you turn the pages you are hoping that a new found love for Callie and Luke blooms or their rocky past relationships will continue to plague them both. I was cheering one moment and the next freaking out by the actions of the spirit haunting Hillwood farm. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a sappy romance. There's enough twists and turns in the book to keep you going but the ending is predictable.
I want to thank Kathryn Knight for writing a very good book. I love sappy romances and there was enough in the book to keep my attention. I also want to thank NetGalley and Wicked Whale Publishing for allowing me to read the book for free for an honest review.. I will continue to read more of Kathryn Knight's books.
This is a fast-paced paranormal book. That follows three characters Alice, an elderly widow, Callie, an introvert who can communicate with spirits, and Luke, who is a skeptic and the grandson of Alice. The story takes place at the Hillwood Farm and Callie’s apartment.
I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I finished it quickly and could not even put it down. I also most missed an appointment because I seriously did not want to put the book down. The book draws you in from the first page with a sugar bowl and keeps you hook to find out who the person is that is doing the haunting. I will say that the only reason I am giving it a 4 star is because I determined the ghost’s identity early on even before the person’s name was mentioned.
My only problem is not the romance because I am always a sucker for instant romance (considering I fell in love with my husband at first sight and we have been married for 17 years), but the ending. I just didn’t understand it or why the author included it. I don’t want to spoil it, but you will have to read it to understand why I am confused by it especially since the people involved where lawyers.
Over all I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a book ghost/mystery book. I was given an advance copy of this book for my honest review.
A good paranormal romance with a pinch of mystery.
The book is well written, engaging and entertaining.
The cast of characters was well written and likable.
The plot was ok, no plot hole, and it never bores.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC
3.5 Stars. This is an enjoyable read. The characters of Luke and Callie are very likeable, and the plot is suspenseful and interesting. I like that the book isn't overly long; I thought it was the perfect length to tell the story and not get bogged down. If you like paranormal suspense with a little romance tossed into the mix, then give this one a try.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing an ARC for review.
For the most part, I thought this was a really decent novel. I liked the main character and her love interest, but I did think the ending was a bit rushed and the ultimate mystery was too easy to solve. I would call this more of a romance with a bit of paranormal in the background than the other way around. Still, it was an easy, enjoyable read and I was rooting for the two main characters throughout the story.
There was definitely a chill factor in some parts of this story, but there were other parts that I thought gave away a bit too much, too soon and made the ending rather obvious. If you enjoy love stories with a paranormal twist, you might consider reading this one.

I don't often gravitate to Romantic Suspense, but this novel was wonderful and I am very happy I didn't overlook it based on its genre. There is a strong supernatural element here; in fact, that is what drives the novel for me. However, fans of Romantic Suspense will also delight in THE HAUNTING OF HILLWOOD FARM because of the lovable characters, the romantic tension, the need for one of the main trio to "suspend disbelief" in order to acknowledge what is actually occurring and to get past his mistrust of the new entry into his and his grandmother's lives. Any fiction seems so much better when the reader can delve into the characters and find points of similarity and interest, and that is very much the case in this novel.
25-year-old Callie Sinclair gained psychic ability following a brief coma induced by a winter traffic accident. Now she "hears" from the deceased, whether or not she wishes to. But sometimes she can pass out information or guidance to a grieving loved one, and the results are beneficial. When she tries to help the elderly, recently widowed, Alice Turner, she finds more than one spirit to deal with, along with the skepticism and disbelief of Alice's very appealing grandson Luke. Romance, Supernatural, and Danger elements are all prevalent in this novel, in a champion plot.
