The Silent Widow is a Tilly Bagshawe book, it is long past time to stop using Sidney Sheldon’s name to draw readers as he died in 2007.
The book revolves around Dr Nikki Roberts. It has multiple story lines that began with the loss of her husband. There is the usual police officer who is attracted to her and his partner who is sure she is involved, which leads her to hire a private detective when she begins receiving death threats and still wants answers regarding her husbands death.
This book takes you from CA to Mexico and touches on the drug trade, corruption and missing persons. It drags on a bit but for the most part is an interesting read.

The Silent Widow delivers on suspense and mystery. From page one this story was a pleasant surprise, the writing draws the reader in and keeps you guessing until the end. Lately the mysteries I have chosen have been letting me down but not this book. The cast of characters provides an endless buffet of the creepy and despicable bad guys that could be the culprit. The story twists and turns and the whodunit is not totally unexpected but it definitely takes some doing to get there. The main character is cool in a flawed and believable way. Overall, this book is an excellent read that you do not want life to interrupt (even though that seems to happen way too much). Tilly Bagshawe is a new to me author that I will be looking for lots more of. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the eARC.
It has been many years since I read and enjoyed Sidney Sheldon's books, so I was curious about THE SILENT WIDOW. All in all it was an enjoyable read for the first half, but then it seemed to drag on a bit.
Nikki Roberts, a psychologist in LA is still grieving deeply after her husband's death in a car accident a year prior. When one of her patients is brutally murdered after leaving her office and her receptionist is killed the same way shortly thereafte, she is so beside herself she almost commits suicide. The 2 policemen leading the case don't seem to have any leads, so Nikki hires a PI, who handled a case years ago of a missing au pair in Mexico City. The 2 cases seem to be linked and Russian and Mexican drug cartels feature heavily.
I didn't much like Nikki, she seemed to be all over the place mentally and I guessed most of the ending. I would recommend it as a good beach read, though, an easy, entertaining if overly long book.

Sorry to say, this book just didn’t do it for me. I thought it was long and tedious to get through and I couldn’t wait to just get to the conclusion. None of the characters were easy to like and the plot just plain bored me. I always finish a book so I did just to find out how the “plot” was summed up. Would probably not recommend this book. Thank you netgalley for letting me give an honest review of this book.

ANY book that has Sidney Sheldon and Tilly Bagshawe as authors is superb! I have read all of their books and can tell you that this one will not disappoint!

In LA, Dr. Nikki Roberts contemplates suicide. She remembers those who she let down, loved and could have loved. Her life is at an impasse. The story goes back in time to a year ago when she and Doug had a wonderful marriage...

Nikki becomes embroiled in murders - and at one point even fears for her own life. The police have been unable to determine who murdered two of her patients . So, Nikki hires a PI and then things get stirred up fast!

A brilliant suspense thriller that I highly recommend!!! Action and emotions galore.

A definite MUST READ!!!

Many thanks to both the Publisher and NetGalley for a heck of a ride!
