Jesse and Lauren are just meant to be together and maybe the third times the charm. Lauren is very intelligent and questions everything which is great in this story. The addition of the daughter was random and it sorta broke my heart that a kid was left with her dad but that was it. It had to hurt Lauren to know that while they were apart he went off and had a kid with someone else, it just kinda stings and I didn't like that aspect of this book. It does have a sweet conclusion.

This was my first book by Jean C. Gordon. It didn’t disappoint. I love a good romance, but this also had a little suspense. I will be looking to read more.

Lauren has been working as lawyer for awhile in this small town. She never expected to see her ex-boyfriend who promised everything when they were really young. They have been together before (twice) and he broke her heart twice. Maybe third time could be charm?
Jesse was famous motor cross star until After terrible motor cross accident took his career and lost his mother. Everything was spiraling out of his control and one thing could stat his new life was a inheritance from his great uncle, a mansion in Indigo Bay.
Now he is back in Indigo bay, try to start a new life and maybe get to know Lauren again. Now Lauren is a lawyer at the firm where his legal issues are dealt. He needs Lauren's help on all his legal issues and he is seeing Lauren often.
Not only his house is in bad shape, now he is father to a baby girl from one night stand after Lauren. Jesse has a lot on his mind but child is bringing new hope to his new beginning. However, everything seems to hit a bumpy road and he needs Lauren's help more than ever.
Lauren isn't sure if she could give Jesse another chance. She doesn't want to risk everything again but it seems like she keeps running into him. Now they have to decide if they can move forward with a child and renovation to continue.

I wish there was more back story between Jesse and Lauren's relationship. They seem to get back into their relationship too quickly after all the heartbreak both went through. I couldn't warm up to Jesse until very end of the book. It was quick read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kobo Writing life for ARC in exchange for honest review.

Sweet Entanglement is indeed a sweet romance with enough talk about cinnamon buns to make anyone run to their nearest bakery for a dozen of their own.

Lauren Cooper is on her way to partner in her law firm when the man who broke her heart shows up as her newest client in Indigo Bay. No problem, she tells herself. She'll handle his case and he can be on his way.

Jesse Brewster though has other plans and they don't include rushing out of town. He's going to be Indigo Bay's newest home and business owner, having inherited a beach mansion from his uncle. However, someone in town is determined that Jesse's restoration project will fail.

I enjoyed this sweet romance. Sweet Entanglement's characters are well-written, their chemistry felt genuine, and the setting is a place I'd love to visit.

I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley.

Lauren and Jesse have been given a second chance at love. But to embrace it they first have to deal with a saboteur and unethical business tactics. These underhand dealings have put a hold on their future relationship. Now they are in a race against time to save Jesse’s inheritance, his home and Laurens mom future business. His daughter he knew nothing about was dropped off at his feet literally by her aunt, she was a cutie and he fell in love with her at first sight. Jesse needed to prove himself to the two most beautiful and important women in his life. A deliriously enticing and enchanting story.

Sweet Entanglement by Jean C. Gordon is the 12th book in the Indigo Bay Sweet Romance series, and my first book by this author. Utterly delightful in every sense of the word. Be prepared to be swept up in this story and these characters. Very sweet adult love story, with a mystery thrown in. I recommend this book.

I reviewed an advanced galley from Netgalley and the publisher. Thank you.

Great, quick read. So engaging it’s difficult to put down! The plot of reunited love is deepened with the addition of an unexpected toddler who captures your heart and roots the depth of real love between the main characters. The setting is beautiful with a quaint historical seaside that captures the readers desire to see the house and the forever after love restored. The mystery plot twists demonstrate an extra element of devotion to doing what is right in being true to yourself and in taking care of loved ones. A true romance!

I didn't find Sweet Entanglement to be all that sweet of a read. I did like the mystery aspect of the story and thought it well done. The romance, however, meh. The main characters have promised to wait for each other while she finishes law school, and he makes his name in the motocross circuit. She has a serious boyfriend during this time. He has casual hook-ups. He's only afraid that his dad will be disappointed that he was careless and conceived a child whom he gets custody of early in the book. The main characters just seem to fall back into their relationship with little trouble. There were a few missing quotation marks that made parts difficult to follow, but just a few. I wouldn't recommend this book.

Lauren and Jesse were in love when they were younger, but a serious motocross accident and his mother’s death led Jesse to disappear from her life. Several years later, they meet again in Indigo Bay where Lauren practices law and Jesse has recently inherited a historic mansion. Lauren’s mother has always dreamed of owning a bed and breakfast and offers to partner with Jesse in restoring the mansion. In the meantime, Jesse learns that he is the father of a toddler whose mother has recently passed away. As renovations begin on the mansion, a mystery develops as the mansion is vandalized and then damaged by an arsonist. Lauren races to find who is at fault as Jesse struggles to me the city’s renovation deadline to prevent the mansion from being condemned.

Will Lauren find the culprit and will she and Jesse all back in love? You’ll need to return to Indigo Bay to find out!

The sense of intimacy and belonging between these two – Jesse and Lauren -, despite the years apart, doubts and fears, was strong and touching, making me feel connected to them throughout the story.
I usually like a story with a single dad, but this was particularly sweet and endearing, with an adorable little girl and the love fortress her father and the secondary characters spontaneously create around her. I loved the older characters too, so loving and protective.
This is a simple story, with romance and a good dose of suspense, but the characters are well developed and the dialogue and writing style are top-notch. Our slightly wounded hero has just the perfect amount of vulnerability – not too much, not too little, just enough – to make him alluring.

Sometimes you just need to sit down with a book that you know will lead you feelings of happiness and contentment. Lauren and Jesse's love story had some bumps along the way. As you share their journey back to one another, you can't help but have empathy in regard to the regrets and miscues they encountered along the way. It makes you realize perception is a two way street, and life shouldn't be lived without making an effort to push past what you think is happening to make a grab for what you want to happen.
