'Safely Endangered Comics' by Chris McCoy is a collection of short 4 panel comics with darkly twisted endings.

It's hard to describe this book without wrecking any of the punchlines, but they are dark and clever. In some cases, I had to pause before I got them. I laughed ironically at the dark fates of the poor characters.

This graphic novel is a collection of short comedic strips about random topics.

Firstly, I have to say that the art was beautiful and fitted the graphic novel perfectly.

The small strips were funny and the jokes were refreshing, quite different from what I’m used to with this genre.

There was no underlying theme nor any type of organization, which makes it the perfect book to have by your side and open randomly when you need it.

As always, with graphic novels like this one, I recommend checking out the artist’s social media to get an idea of the sort of humor you can expect.

McCoy's comics are a delight to read. I'm glad I had the chance to pick up his book and revisit old favorites, as well as comic unique to this volume.

This is a funny comic with absurd humour. Reading this made me start following the author's webcomic.

I read the Safely Endangered Comics online and this book is a great collection of those! It was fun rereading some of my favorites and having a refresher on other fun ones. I highly recommend this read if you want a good chuckle.

Safely Endangered has been a cornerstone of webcomics for the better part of the last decade, and Chris McCoy’s artistic talent and wit have made me cackle madly for years! I just adore his work and sense of humor. Safely Endangered Comics is the latest collection of snappy puns and clean line art; it is perfect for people familiar with McCoy’s art and also great for anyone who loves to laugh!

Safely Endangered Comics by Chris McCoy is a humorous collection of utterly random comics. Expect to find movies and videogames, modern technological 'conveniences', and social relationships, among other things, poked fun at in light-hearted manner. Many of these made my co-workers and myself laugh aloud, and two of them ordered the book from Amazon. My faves included the Legend of Zelda comic, the Star Wars comic, the land octopus (I spit my tea), and the stay at home super heroes. Great collection!

***Many thanks to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel for providing an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

4.5 rounded up.

I really enjoy dark comedy and this comic definitely held up to that. There were so many panels that I wanted to print out and hang on my wall that I actually decided I need a physical copy of this book. Not just the digital copy I received for review. Clever and simple, I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has a slight cynical view of the world and isn’t afraid to show it.

I enjoy these comics when I see them online. It only follows, then, that a whole book of them would be a delight. Some of them were pretty hilarious. I could see gifting this to the right friend.

This was hit-or-miss for me, but I know some people with the right sense of humor for this! Some were literally laugh out loud funny, while some I found too crude, and a few I just didn't get at all. The superhero ones, though, were my favorite: especially the "Stay-at-Home Superheroes" like "Bath Man" and "Ironing Man" HAHAHA

This book has no story line, since it is a comic, but it is adorable. The illustrations are not overly complicated, but enough to get the story across. I had a whole range of emotions going while reading this. It is a quick read like most comics, but one that I would read over and over. It is going on my list of books to buy because I enjoyed it so much.

Another cute and clever comic from Andrews McMeel. I really love the bright colors and I think this will be popular with anyone who enjoys witty and sarcastic comics.

Okay, but I wouldn't read it again nor read anymore of these. Just did not entertain me like I had hoped it would.

I’ve been seeing Chris McCoy’s work around various social media outlets, and I knew it tickled my sometimes warped, usually geeky kind of humour.

I couldn’t detect any particular order to the comics here, just a random collection of mainly single-page, 2-4 panel jokes. Most of them made me smile, one or two made no sense to me, and rather a lot seemed very relevant to my life.

The style is simple, but effective. The use of colour makes everything that little bit more fun. One word of warning: this contains pretty mature content, both thematically and swearing. And a lot of geekness :)

It's funny and is filled with some grim wit! Will recommend it. A great one to come out to a readers block or can be a great escape between two intense read.
