This collection was hilarious. Some of these were so dumb they were hilarious. Some were so disturbing they were hilarious.

I mean, I didn’t think every comic was hilarious - but they had me laughing pretty good. And when I’m literally laughing out loud, I think that’s the hallmark of a pretty good comic book. The ones that were hilarious definitely carried the ones that weren’t so much.

This collection of little strips was hit and miss for me. Some were amusing (though not hilarious), and others either fell flat or were on topics that I know nothing about so I have no clue whether they may, in fact, be funny.

This is the kind of book that I would have classified as a "bathroom book" before the days when everyone started taking their devices into the loo. Nothing too deep here, but a small bit of decent enough entertainment to keep you occupied for short periods of time.

I'm sure this will be popular with McCoy's fan base but it didn't do all that much for me. 2.5 stars rounded up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with a DRC of this book.

As far as graphic novels go, this is normally just a four panel. Sometimes more sometimes less. With themes ranging from adult to more juvenile.

All in all, it was a fast read. A good break from another book I'm currently reading that just boring me to death. I would recommend it for ages 16 and up as nothing is too dirty or sexual.

I always know of the author's webtoon work, it's really nice as well so after you read this I suggest you Google it so you can check out their other work.

I gave it four stars because while I found everything nice nothing really made me laugh. But alas, it's hard to make me laugh I suppose.

*I could read this book thanks to NetGalley and the publisher*
It's a super cute collection of slightly passive aggressive drawings. I've chuckled throughout the whole book. Truly adorable and perfectly fit in my humour. Would love to have it on my bookshelf.

Some of these comics were very funny, others were mildly amusing and some were just "meh". I would only recommend buying the book to people who are already fans of the webcomic.

The illustrations are very basic and cartoony but it works for book. Some of the the cartoon strips jokes I did not understand but overall there is a great variety of jokes. I found myself laughing out loud more one once. This is definitely not a book for younger children but teens and adults would enjoy the humor.

Therefore I'll tell 4.0 things I liked about the book and 1.0 thing I didn't like, as usual.

+1 | The idea is great, and I can see why the webcomic is so popular
+1 | The humor was definitely entertaining
+1 | The drawings perfectly fitted the context
+1 | I enjoyed the randomness of it. From references to games and shows to animals and natural phenomena, it covered a lot
-1 | Maybe it was the randomness, or the short page-sized comic strips, but I felt like it ended abruptly

Hilarious! Eclectic collection of joke comics involving animals, mutants, the universe, Pokémon, robots, and The Lion King.

Well hello, I'm very pleasantly surprised here! Sometimes I have a little problem with these comic strips which were first published online and then in a book version. Because I see so many of them online, the book becomes unnecessary with nothing new.

But, I do not know if it's because I did not follow Safely Endangered that closely, I can say that I was only familiar with two or three drawings from this comics!

And I thoroughly enjoyed the rest! I laughed at the most horrible things and giggled at the cutest things ever! I love the land octopus! That's such a clever idea!

I loved the pacing of this comic where it did not seem like the strips were too much on one note. It had a great flow, lots of different topics.

I can already say that I will be coming back to this comics.

This is damn fine collection of short comic or you could say web comics. It is relatable, crazy, filled with dark humor and at least one comic that is related to coffee.
Overall it is great and it is type of thing for collectors and just a funny gift for your friends, but definitely not for your mother. (just kidding)

I have followed Safely Endangered on Facebook and Instagram for a long time now. As my first book and review on Netgalley I'm thrilled! What's not to love with safely endangered?! You have wit and snark and really cute to the eye comics. I would recommend this book as a coffee table or lunch read to some of my friends. Others may not follow the humor as well.

80% funny, 20% weird. This is the best way I can describe this book. Some of the comic strips will make you laugh out loud whereas others you'll be thinking really? Did they just go there? Still a solid 4 star read.

I'm a big fan of Safely Endangered Comics, been following it on the internet by the WebToon site and it's instagram for a long while, so to see it in a book is just a very nice surprise!

With nice comics, humor, this is a nice read for those days where you just want to wind up and enjoy some comics, sitting on the sofa or bed or whenever you feel confortable and just. Relax. Which is totally what I did in my off day. It's colorful, is fun and it's a easy read!

I would like to thank Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for the chance of reading this ARC!

I was not familiar with Chris McCoy's work, so these brilliant cartoons were a pleasant surprise. A great sense of humour, clever puns and popular culture references- I really enjoyed the book with its simple but hilaroius style.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

Safely Endangered is full of hilarious comics. I usually keep seeing them from my friends and on some pages on Instagram. When I saw it on Netgalley, I jumped in!

I really enjoyed the book. It was easy to read while working. I just read a few pages and went back to work. I especially loved the sarcastic ones. The illustrations are full of surprises and plot twists. Definitely recommend.

This is definitely a collection for adults. Let's get that out of the way first. But, overall, these comics are pretty funny. The drawings are simple, but some of the panels are still pretty amusing. I'd never actually seen the Safely Endangered comics before, but I wouldn't mind seeing more of them.

I'm not sure what else there is to say about the collection. There are some gory, graphic panels, along with some rather astute observational ones. (Much of the book could be suitable for teens or even younger, but there are those few comics that push it right into the adult category, so be aware of that and don't get lulled into a sense of safety by the first tame one.)

Safely Endangered Comics is a quick and fun read that left me chuckling throughout. A "best of" compilation of comic strips that originally appeared on the Safely Endangered web site, these cover a wide range of subject matter, from sibling rivalry to geek culture, Be prepared for plenty of clever wordplay and more than a few groan-inducing puns, and some of the illustrations are especially appealing to those of us whose sense of humor is just a little but twisted (I'll admit, I felt a tiny bit guilty for laughing at times...).

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable little collection that I know I'll end up flipping through repeatedly..

This is a very entertaining selection of comics. I laughed out all the way through as I read it.

Simple artwork, many times with a funny twist and off beat humor. If you like to laugh this is a good book to get.

I am already following the author's Instagram account, so I did not hesitate to request this comic here on NetGalley. McCoy made the puns and even the everyday day life scenario more funny with the cute, and simple art style. Its broad morbid sense of humor will definitely appeal to any age. If you want a quick, good laugh read, you should definitely pick this one.

Thanks, NetGalley for providing the arc!

4/5 stars!

Reviewing collections of stand-alone webcomics is tricky. Each page is a new story unrelated to any that have come before, or any that will follow it. So that means no plot overview. And without a concrete plot-like element to talk about, what do I talk about? Other than waffling about how difficult it is to be me, of course.
Well, fortunately for me, Safely Endangered Comics, the first collection of the webcomic of the same name, streamlines the process for me by being really, really funny. Most of the time. It has a slightly higher gem-to-dud ratio than I would like to see in a collection, but not by too much. The art is fully cartoony, and helps sell the gags that are ever so dark and serious.
Safely Endangered does an effective job of balancing the style and dynamic of its jokes, making it a very readable collection. Fans of webcomics with a dark sensibility are strongly encouraged to give this a shot.
CONTENT NOTE: Don’t let the cheerful cartoon vibe fool you. The jokes in this collection are dark, and include some graphic violence. It’s all done in the name of the joke, but this is definitely not a title for young kids.
