I am always up for a new Instant Pot cookbook, especially with healthier options, as we are always trying to maximize how we eat at our house. I know that the health marker for this book is being under 350 calories, but I tend to look at carbohydrate count as my main marker and most of this recipes fail to meet my definition of healthy. However, they can definitely be tweaked for the most part to be lower carb and there were a few floating around in there that will be fantastically healthy as is (I can't wait to try Provencal Garlic Chicken). I do love that the nutrition facts are listed at the bottom of every recipe, which I always appreciate and think is an essential element of any good cookbook. I think this book is a great choice for people who count calories as opposed to carbs, all of the recipes sound fairly tasty.

Thank you to Net Galley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

While I love using my Instant Pot to cook delicious meals for my family, many of the recipes out there are not all that healthy. Just a quick glance through this cookbook, and I’ve already marked many recipes that I can’t wait to try. I appreciate that Hughes uses regular ingredients that are either already in my pantry or easy to find at the grocery store. Here’s to losing weight with the Instant Pot!

What a fantastic book! I love cooking but am also very health conscious. This book has provided me with lots of new and interesting meal ideas using the instant pot. Nutritional values are given for each recipe and all meals contain less than 350 calories per serving (even those in the dessert section which is particularly good) It seems that the author has thought of everything. There are quick lunches, soups, salads and low carb meals.

I love my instant pot and use it almost daily. I know I will make many meals from this book. Thank you very much to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for an advance copy of this title in exchange for an unbiased review.

My reading circle had been talking about how almost all of the instant pot recipes that we had tried required heavy use of fats and creams to make them work. When this book came up, we all decided to take a couple of recipes and try them. Some were immediate hits...some took a little tweaking...but the facts were clear, you do not have to add hundreds of calories to any of them to make them become family favorites. Our instant pot has not only decreased cooking time, it has expanded our menu to include many recipes that were too much work before. To have a cook book that combines this convenience plus gives us healthy, lower calorie options is definitely a win, win. Nancy Hughes deserves high accolades for her book. The highest I can give her is that my family has voted her recipes as "keepers'.

Thinner in an Instant Cookbook Revised and Expanded
by Nancy S. Hughes

Being a person who enjoys using their instapot, the picture on the front cover caught my attention. If your new to using a instapot read the instructions that came with it. The few tips, trick and hacks do not prepare you for cooking with this piece of equipment.

Each recipe gives you a grocery list, nutrition chart and cooking instructions. But the majority of the recipes lack a picture, A picture is a good reference point to use to see if what you made looks like what the author made. The recipes range from sandwiches to stews to full course meals, and each one has a caloric intake of 350 calories per meal. To finish off and end your evening are some recipes for desserts. I look forward to try these recipes in my instapot.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The recipes look to be ones I would eat. I was disappointed in the lack of pictures. I like to see a picture of what the meal is supposed to look like, even just a small picture. Pictures attract my attention more easily.

This is a great book for those who mainly cook with the pressure cooker. I use it for speed and I found some of the recipes a bit too slow with the different stages, and I did think some would have been quicker using other methods. I would have loved more pictures, ideally for each recipe. The best section was the one pot recipes. I think the quality of the book is very good and the recipes were very well balanced and excellent for anyone wanting to cut down on calories. It would be a brilliant way to cook for anyone on a diet as all leftovers could be frozen making meal planning so much easier. The additional information was also very useful.
