First in the series. Pippa and Kam work at the school in their little Cornish Village. Liked this one overall, and would recommend this sweet romance.
A lovely read for summer! I was given The Cornish Village School - Summer Love by Kitty Wilson in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.
Loved this romantic storyline. The Cornish Village School - Summer Love is just the kind of book you want to curl up to on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
And, you are going to love Pippa. Can't wait to read more from this author.
The first book I’ve read by Kitty Wilson. A lovely read, I could really picture the characters and their lives. Some unpredictable twists which made the book all the more enjoyable. Loved it!
I haven’t read the other books in this series but I didn’t feel like I needed to, I still enjoyed the story. I love anything and everything set in Cornwall - one of the most amazing places I’ve ever lived. Great, cute and sweet book. Enjoyed it a lot.
Pippa is working as a teaching assistant in the Penmenna primary school and is perfectly happy with her life but when she meets the new teacher, Kam, covering for Lyn's maternity leave the sparks fly.... but she had to stay professional.... doesn't she? Kam has a five year plan as this is his first position as a teacher and he needs to make a good impression so that he can get a permanent job in Cornwall, so when he is warned off by the Head about getting involved with other members of staff he has to ignore his growing feelings for Pippa...... doesn't he?
A lovely lighthearted feelgood book with lots of great comedy and fun. The characters are great and I loved the two interfering mothers determined to get their children married off, perfect beach read
This book is focused on Pippa’s and Kam’s relationship and I couldn’t help but notice how similar they were. Both of the characters were very well developed and just captured my heart right away. I especially loved Pippa’s character and how brave she was, specially in the last scene. But not only that, I loved how she stood up for herself. And also, props to Kitty for not making her heterosexual. It is rare to see anything else but heterosexual female character in the romance books so this was a breath of fresh air.
I've not read any of the other books in this series but I don't think I needed to in order to enjoy this book.
It's fun to read something completely unlike other romance fiction books and there aren't too many books like this with a school setting in the background.
How Pippa and Kam met at the start of the book is hilarious. Pippa's wearing an Easter bunny costume ready to hide Easter eggs for the school egg hunt. She realises she's left some eggs in the car when she sees Kam's car broken down in the school car park and sends him to her father to have it repaired. Their connection is instant and as soon as they realise they'll be working together in a professional capacity they know they shouldn't act upon it.
Both sets of parents are hilariously determined to marry off their children, though it seems like they don't mind who to at times! Kam's mum in particular is a hilarious character.
An enjoyable light read, which you can easily read as a stand alone. Highly recommended!
Kitty Wilson writes with such a witty turn of phrase this book had me giggling within minute and laughing out loud so many times as I devoured this lovely book. It's a great love story and I found myself rooting for Pippa and Kam all the way, but even so the grandeur of the finale took me by surprise. And did I mention the mystery of the missing hamster? One of the funniest scenes I have ever read.
A very good new entry in a cozy mystery serie Don't worry if you didn't read the earlier ones- while characters from those will pop up, the story here is a perfect standalone. The village is delightful, the students well pitched, and the story is delightful.
I am loving this series so much, and enjoying every moment I get to spend in Penmarra amongst the teachers and pupils of school.
For an initial meet cute, what better can you get than Pippa in an headless easter bunny costume, attempting to fix Kam's car!!
I loved the connection between Kam and Pippa from the start, its just that as they are going to be working closely together they know they shouldn't act on it.
Add in two sets of interfering parents, another potential man for Pippa, and some adorable antics in the school are you are left with a rather pleasing story that is full of laughter and enjoyment.
Even scary PTA lady seems a bit more human in this one, even if the glimpses are few and far between.
A thoroughly enjoyable story, and I can't wait to see what happens next at the school, and its community.
Thank you to Canelo on Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Another read that many will adore for the holidays, this time it's the third instalment of the impeccable Cornish Village School by the brilliant Kitty Wilson!
I love this series! The setting, the lovely Penmenna is so vivid and gorgeous that again, I was transported there the second I begin to read.
On meeting both Pippa and Kam, both different in their own ways, I was again drawn in and confident that I would like them. There are of course many other characters, some likeable, many memorable from the other books, some not so likeable. I have to admit I jumped a little bit more for the events, activities and scenes with the children and the general bustle of the school, and although I really loved Pippa and Kam separately, their relationship for me could have been left as the rest of the story was enough for me to absolutely love this book. Very much recommended and while this can be read as a standalone you have to have to get back to the first of the series!! Thanks to Canelo and Netgalley for the book in return for an honest review.
Rating 4.5/5
So I didn't actually realize that this is the second book in 'The Cornish Village School' but I can safely say that it does read well as a standalone book. Also on a somewhat related note, I now do really want to read the first book in the series!
We start of the book by being introduced to Sylvie and her son Sam as they are heading off for their afternoon visit to the beach, I really loved the pure excitement from both of these characters as they initially set off for the beach, it's where they meet both Alex and Ellie and begin an almost instant friendship. (Living pretty close to the beach I can safely say I do not take advantage of visiting as much as I really should and after reading the first few chapters of this book I really wanted to get out and visit!)
This was a great character-focused book with a lot of different relationships coming in to play, there was quite a focus on the children as well as the friends and family of Sylvie and Alex which made it just that little bit more than a simple romance book. There were a few 'secrets' in the background but mostly I really enjoyed it being a straightforward romance book. I think perhaps there could have been a bit more focus on some of the place descriptions but it doesn't take away from the story at all. For me, it was a great sweet little read that had me smiling all the way through.

Thanks to NetGalley for an early copy in return for an honest review
A very good read and one I can highly recommend to others.
I could not put this down.
Thoroughly enjoyable with an amazing cast of characters that you cannot help but engage with.
Lovely feel good story. It was well written and flowed well. Easy to read and hard to put down. Perfect on these summer nights
This is the third book in the series
It was great to catch up with some of the characters from the previous books.
Another well written, fun and lighthearted book.
Can’t wait for more from this author
Another great read This is the 3rd book in this series and it's just ad good as the first two A few if the old characters from the previous books but this one featured Pippa a teaching assistant at the village school and Kam a new supply teacher They have a connection from the beginning and with both of their families getting involved it's bound to get messy but it's funny and charming in equal measures A very comforting and heartwarming novel with tears and laughter along the way A thoroughly enjoyable novel
This is the 3rd book in this series but I don't think it's necessary to read the others to enjoy this one. It follows the story of Pippa, a teaching assistant and the new substitute teacher. It was fairly formulaic and you knew where it was going from the outset but it was well written with good characters and fun scenes. If you want an easy general chick lit I recommend this book.
I was sent this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I so love Kitty Wilson and The Cornish Village School series and this one is yet another great read!! It is a nice, easy read but also hooks you into the story so you don't want to put it down as each chapter leaves you wanting that little bit more.
This is well written, thoughtful and realistic!
I really enjoyed this book. I adored the story line and loved the main characters. I read this book in one sitting and would highly recommend this book.
