I have a new favorite author. This book is absoultely swoon worthy! Ilya, the Dragon, .....all's I can say is I want one! Emma Jane is the perfect heroine. She's not a shrinking violet that's for sure. She holds up and proves herself to be the perfect woman for the Dragon. The author has a wonderful way with words. She creates vibrant images for the reader and wrongs every drop if of emotion she can from her characters. I can not wait to get my hands on the rest of her work.

Sexy Russian with complicated past falls for simple divorcee

The Hero, Ilya Dragonavich, is a bit hard to quantify easily. He is basically a Mafia hitman who has been adopted into the family he is currently in, but his real family is much more complicated. Either way, he is sexy as all get out and he sees this simple woman jus in the process of going through a bad divorce and he decides to help her out so she doesn’t lose her home to her deadbeat ex.

When Ilya gets to know Emma Jane Preston a bit better while negotiating the purchase of her house in order to save it for her by turning it in to a safe house for his boss, he determines that she is the woman for him. Though he doesn’t act on it at the time. One year later assassins try to kill her in her house so he has to come in and protect her and try to determine who wants her dead and why.

The story is fast paced, steamy and very good. It has all of the benchmarks of a great Lora Leigh book, such as suspense, drama, romance, humor, enjoyable supporting characters and more. I really liked the entire book. This was the first book in this series that I have read and I didactic need to read the first two in order to understand or get involved in the story. However, I did like this enough to now want to go back and read the others.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. Whew.... get your fans out because this was a hot intense read. The tension is sizzling and the attraction is on fire and the suspense keeps you intrigued.

Dragon is an intense man who is not afraid to protect who he loves and once he meets his dragon mate Emma Jane his enemies better beware.

Great read!

Ilya is a member of the Dragonovichfamily, he is the Dragon heir. He has a checkered background that is strongly hinted at. Emma Jane comes from a middle class family. At times I wasn’t sure whether I liked Ilya. It felt to me like Ilya was obsessed with Emma Jane and a bit too controlling. There were a lot of characters in this story to keep straight and the book had a paranormal feel. In the end I liked it enuf to finish it, but I’m not sure I would continue with the series. I had trouble deciding what to rate this book and considered giving it 2*, but ultimately decided to give it 3*. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I really wanted to like this book, but it was so confusing. Too many characters to keep straight and I didn't really like the supernatural/paranormal aspect to the book. Thanks for letting me try out an ARC.

It's been a while since I have read a Lora Leigh story. It was sort of like coming home. I have always loved her books. The characters are developed, the story is good (I'm a fan of action romance books) and the heat between the H/h is smokin'! I liked seeing characters from past stories show up in this one. The story moved at a great pace and kept me reading well into the late night to finish it. There really was no mystery about who the villain was, but it kept me guessing on who would be the one to put them down. It was the kind of story I expect from Lora and I was happy with that.

Oh my! This author has never disappointed me! And she didn’t start this time. This is Ilya and Emma Jane’s story. Ilya is a Dragonovich. I will let you read the story to find out what that means. Emma Jane is a woman he met and fell in love with but had to leave to protect her. When someone attempts to kill her, he renters her life. Together they work to find out why? Emma also has some secret desires of her own. Join them on their life, death and love adventure by reading their story.

I read this book as an arc from NetGalley. It got a yummyyyyy 5 stars plus

This is part of a series and I haven't read the earlier books so I was a little lost. While this does work as a stand alone I was a little confused who all the characters are. However, that is on me because world building is just that, the author has to rely on some previous knowledge or get bogged down in details each subsequent book.

I ended up not paying much attention to the secondary characters who would pop in to the story because it only confused me. I found this a well written romantic thriller with strong chemistry between the leads.

Can you say SIZZLE?

This book grabbed me within the first couple of pages and kept me going until the end!!

Ilya never knew a normal childhood, it was filled with hatred from his mother and violence. In order to survive, he had to be violent.

Emma Jane had the perfect family life with a family that love and respect her. She is now going through a divorce and because of her childish ex, she could lose the home she loves.

Emma Jane is presented with the opportunity for her home to become a safe home for a security agency/company and they will pay her mortgage off so she won't lose her home. She is no one's fool though and has her own conditions. This is when she meets Ilya. He is dark and gorgeous and she knows he has a past. This doesn't stop her from thinking about him though... Emma Jane is the light in Ilya's darkness. Even though he has stayed away from her for the most part, she is never far from his mind.

Then all hell breaks lose...one night 4 men enter Emma Jane's home in an attempt to kill her. After alerting her family, she automatically calls Ilya.

No one can figure out why this would happen to Emma Jane but Ilya is not leaving her until she is safe...

The writing is excellent in this book and you really get to understand the characters and their lives.
Ilya wants to keep his darkness away from Emma Jane but neither can resist the other. Through the writing all emotions are real for the reader...anger, hate, frustration, fear, sexual tension and yes, love.

This author wrote a series which I have always loved and yes, in the back of my mind I wondered if she could hook me with this story...SHE DID! I need more, LOL Great, great book!!

I received this book through NetGalley and am leaving my honest opinion.

Lethal Nights is a book that you have to really pay attention to in order to understand who all of the characters are what their roles are. While it can be a standalone, I would highly recommend that you read the first few books in the series first as there are a lot of characters. There is quite a backstory, too, that will keep you confused until later in the book when the author starts to gradually piece some of the puzzle together.

This was an interesting story for me. I read books that are realistic and believable. This book felt almost otherworldly to me, with Ilya as the (Romanian tribe) Dragon heir. As heir to this Dragon tribe, his reputation as untouchable in the underworld, carries across the globe. Ilya's history is complex and I had a hard time fully understanding it, therefore, I never felt too attached to him.

Emma, I felt, could have been fleshed out more. A lot of time was spent on explaining the Dragon tribe, as well as the inner turmoil of should the leads be together or not. Had there been less of this, perhaps we could have had a bit more detail on the mundane. The lack thereof, kept me from feeling as though I was there in the story; I always felt like was being held at arm's length from the characters/action.

My thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review Lethal Nights by Lora Leigh.

ARC received for review

Ilya and Emma Jane were hot from page one. There was just so many people coming in that I had no idea who they were or what the point was to them being in the story. That kind of reminded me of book one. The bad guy was pure nasty. Then the ending just left a lot to be desired.

Ilya is a Romanian gypsy, an assassin but now works in security. When Emma Jane’s bedroom is shot up, he comes immediately to protect her. He has scars on his face that is covered with a dragon tattoo. Ilya is the heir to the dragon clan because his father was killed by his mother. Emma Jane is divorced and about to lose her house until Ilya’s company pays off the mortgage and are going to use it as a safe house. But seeing as she wasn’t put in the system yet, Ilya believes whoever is trying to kill Emma Jane is because of him. Someone has found out what she means to him and they want to destroy him by killing her. Can they find out his after her before they finally kill her and will Ilya opens his heart to her?
Good story with suspense, sex, and action. This is the third book in this series.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *

Sexy and hot, with a bit of spice that fans of the genre will enjoy. I found the first third of the novel somewhat confusing and a bit off putting. Because it was so convoluted, it was hard to connect with the characters or feel invested in their story. By the halfway point, this had changed and I was totally engrossed in this book and flipping pages just as quickly as possible.

So, 5 stars for the last half of the book. I found myself loving the characters and invested in their story. What felt convoluted in the beginning was woven into a compelling tale that was complex and had layers of depth to it that made it interesting.

Fans of the genre will want to put this one on their TBR list. Be patient with the slow start to the book, you'll be glad you did and will thoroughly enjoy this novel.
