Emma Jane Preston is moving forward. She's closed the chapter on her doomed marriage and it's putting here life back together. She is the last person anyone expects to be targeted by assassins. Yet as connections are uncovered and passions flame the real question is uncovered. Can she tame the Dragon?
Be prepared for some mystical lore and say thank you for the shout outs to the Elite Ops. If you haven't read that series, go back and start from the beginning.

Brianna Bronte did a great job with this story. Ilya Dragonovich and Emma Jane Preston had skirted around their attraction for different reasons. Ilya was a dangerous man and the heir to the Dragonovich family that wielded mafia power in Romania and Emma Jane was just getting out of a marriage.

When someone threatened EJ’s life, Ilya knew it was time to claim her as his own and under his protection. But the person after her was a mystery, and that was not going to fly with the Dragon heir.

I really liked Emma Jane’s independence, loyalty and inner strength. She clearly loved Ilya but she also had a clear sense of what’s right, and she also stood up for herself against her protective family. The mystery stalker wasn’t really much of a mystery although the motive was a surprise. I enjoyed their reliance on each other for comfort and love. I also see that Emma Jane was strong enough for a boss like Ilya.
The almost mythical characteristics of the dragon tattoo gave the story a supernatural feel that gave the stories Romanian family some mystique.

I had hoped for more information on EJ’s culpability with her accident as well as his mother’s motive. Maybe in the next books, we can get a resolution on those issues.

ETHAL NIGHTS is an intriguing, touch of the mystical Romantic Suspense that captured my attention early on. Although it is the third story in the series, I was able to dive right in without any previous connection to this series. Yes, I broke one of my own rules, but it worked out fine with Ilya and Emma this time.

Ilya met Emma in the previous book and helped her deal with a vindictive ex-husband. Now she’s in danger and has turned to the man she instinctively trusted before, Ilya, for help once again. This time the attraction between them builds and flows over into a sizzling hot romance that if they survive might be their future.

There are a lot of people, some from previous books – I wasn’t lost just know that this is a crowded story. The plot twists and turns kept me on my toes throughout – and that touch of mystical I mention had my curiosity going. I enjoyed myself in this world and do intend to go back to the beginning for the stories I missed.

If you love Romantic Suspense then you’ll want to check out LETHAL NIGHTS. I’d not hesitate to recommend this story to those readers who like their suspense hot and steamy.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Lora Leigh has certainly written an imaginative series. I have read the first, but not the second, and now have read the third. This book revolves around the Romanian Gypsy clan called the Dragons, and Ilya Dragonovich is the grandson of the leader. Emma Jean is his true love in his eyes, but forces are there that want to kill her. Emma Jean does not know the whole story, and that is the basis for this story. It is a love story, but it is also so much more. Love the history and customs with this Romanian clan, whether true or not, as I feel they were taken from facts learned in writing this story. A fun, entertaining read. This kept my attention and it was basically read in one sitting, that is how much i was into this story! Ms. Leigh’s writing is well done and she makes a great storyteller!

Ilya Dragonovich is no stranger to the dark side. As a safe-house owner for security agency Brute Force, Dragon knows that the battle line between good and evil runs through the heart of every man—and, sometimes, a beautiful woman. Emma Jane Preston needs help. After her marriage crumbled, she believed she could get back to a normal, happy life. But now she needs the kind of protection that comes at a cost—one that only someone like Dragon can provide. But can Emma Jane trust this handsome, undercover operator to keep her safe when she is in danger of falling into the arms of the deeply seductive, fiery Dragon. . .and never letting go?
This was a pretty good book. The end was kind of quickly done but it didn’t bother me. I am very familiar with Ilya from other books by this author so I was happy to get his story. I really liked Emma Jane. I wasn’t really sure how I was going to feel about her with the family dynamics in the beginning, but I wasn’t disappointed at all. The only other thing to really add is the parallels the author uses that make this book as close to a paranormal with it being a contemporary. I wasn’t really sure how I felt about it, but I just rolled with it as part of the story. I recommend, especially for other fans of this author.

I loved Ilya and Emma Jane!
I loved the mystery of the dragons. Almost as though this were a sci fi in disguise.
And who wouldn’t love an alpha male taking charge and saving the day? And their chemistry is through the roof! Given the importance of Ilya’s dragon face tattoo, I would have liked to see that on the cover, though. But still, 5 stars!!

Intense, Steamy –

What I like about Lora Leigh is that she writes edgy, erotic stories with a healthy serving of intrigue, suspense and mystery. Lethal Nights is the latest in the Brute Forces series and follows this same vein. While it can be read as a standalone, each story enriches the series’ security firm theme. Long-time fans of Leigh may even see a brief appearance or two by characters from earlier stories and series. And, of course we love it when that happens!

Ilya Dragonovich is a deadly, hard man with Russian roots and secrets he’d prefer to keep to himself. And he has a dragon tattooed on his cheek – that is sexy and scary!

Emma Jane’s life has gotten complicated in the past year. Her ex-husband’s selfish choices almost cost her the home she loves. Same ex-husband won’t leave her alone. And the cherry on top? Someone wants her dead.

Ilya helped her once before to save her home. She’s never forgotten him or the way he makes her feel. He is her secret crush, her dragon.

If you are a new reader to Leigh, her writing style will excite, shock, and enthrall you. You may need to fan yourself – it can get hot! I’ve read several of Leigh’s series over the years. Lately I’ve been hoping for something new to appear, some added element to what she writes. I don’t know if it is too much familiarity with her style or perhaps my interests are evolving. Nevertheless, while I wasn’t surprised with how the storyline evolved, I couldn’t put it down.

This is the 3rd book in the series but it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Emma thought she could go back to a normal life after her divorce but because of some of the people in her ex-husband’s life, she could be in danger. Ilya didn’t have a great childhood and doesn’t get to close to people, it doesn’t work with Emma and sparks fly. He is there to keep Emma safe but the temptation to be with her is to great. Fast-paced read with lots of drama and amazing chemistry. A good read.

What an absolutely amazing book that is fast-paced, action-packed, well written with well developed characters, danger, loyalty, undeniable chemistry, drama, suspense, humorous moments and even paranormal elements - everything you want in a suspenseful romance. I was sucked in from the very beginning and couldn't put it down. I loved the attraction, sizzling chemistry and sexy romance between Emma Jane Preston and her dragon, Ilya Dragonovich who is part of Brute Force.

Ms. Leigh blew me away with "Lethal Nights" and I look forward to book four in the must-read Brute Force series. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review.

A really good read. I loved the suspense and the steamy romance between Ilya and Nicholas. The way this author builds up her characters gives the reader a chance to "get to know them"; it isn't rushed. I think I loved the fact that Ilya has a dark side the most ( beyond sexy in my book lol). Overall, a really good read.

I’ve enjoyed the Brute Force series and Lethal Nights is the best so far. Sexy, suspenseful and gripping are all apt descriptors.

I love Emily and wasn’t expecting Ilya to be so amazing. EJ is sweet and feminine but tough enough to stand up to a dragon without a second thought. Ilya thinks his past has scarred him to the point of being incapable of being loved and doesn’t accept love well. He’s actually very good at loving those around him, especially EJ. The sex appeal between these two is off the charts hot.

There are so many bad guys in Ilya’s life and even at least one in EJs that it’s hard to figure out who’s the threat but the chase is exhilarating and kept me turning the pages!

The hint of paranormal really added to Ilya and his story.

Lethal Nights is a great read and I recommend it.

Lethal Nights is the third book in the Brute Force series, but it can be read as a stand alone. In this book we get Ilya Dragonovich and Emma Jane's love story. Ilya is a scarred hero with a dark complicated past. Emma Jane has her own past demons and a new life to start. The two meet in a time of need and the attraction is intense! Lora Leigh's books are my go to for romance and suspense. I have enjoyed all of the Brute Force books.

I enjoyed this third book in the Brute Force series, about the mysterious Dragon!

Ilya Dragonovich is a man who lives in the shadows. He runs a safe house operation for the Brute Force agency, in addition to his role as right hand man to the former Russian crime boss Ivan Resnova, his best friend. When he gets a call from an old friend to set up a new safe house, and save the woman in question's home in the process, he's intrigued. When the meets the owner, he's utterly enamored of her. But she was in the midst of a divorce, and wasn't emotionally available to start anything, so he walked away. A year later, when there's a breach of her home, and an attempt on her life, he knows he can't walk away again.

Emma Jane Preston has had a rough go. She has an amazing family, but she married the wrong man, and when he turned into a bully, and started down the path towards abuse, she kicked him out. But, the jerk tried to take her family home from her, and the Dragon, and Brute Force, saved it for her. She knew she was agreeing to some level of risk in turning her home into a safe house, but she didn't expect an attempt on her specifically, when no agents have even stayed at her place yet. She let Ilya walk away a year ago, because she wasn't ready. But seeing him again, and riding to her rescue, no less, makes her realize that she'd love to keep him this time. But, can a regular girl like her ever truly tame a Dragon?

Ilya and Emma Jane had MASSIVE chemistry, and they were both fighting it, for various reasons. Their push and pull was extreme, and I loved watching them dance around each other. Ilya knew that EJ would be a target if anyone realized how important she was to him. Unfortunately, it seems like that had already happened, and now he needs to protect her at all costs. There was quite a bit of suspense in this story, which I always love, but I liked how much the story really focused on the two main characters. Their families, both by blood, and by choice, were huge characters too, and that was awesome.

Emma Jane was such a strong woman. I loved that she was confident in herself, and her place in the world. She knew she'd always have her family's love, and the support of her community, even with her ex trying to besmirch her character every chance he got. She knew she loved Ilya, but she never wanted to change him. Or make him stay, if he was determined to go. Even if that meant breaking her own heart. She was a great heroine.

Ilya was quite the brooding hero. He was very agonized about his role in his mysterious family, and what that might mean with regards to any hopes of happily ever after for him. But, the Dragon was finally in love, and once he realized he couldn't live without Emma Jane, he was determined to fight for her. His dragon tattoo was almost another character in the story. There were definitely some mystical elements to it, especially given his Romanian heritage, and the family stories he's been told. It gave the story a bit of a paranormal bent, even though it wasn't a PNR story at all, so that was unexpected, but fun, and enjoyable for me.

I definitely liked this story. The suspense plot was exciting, and the villains were super crazy.
I really enjoyed all the side characters here, both on Ilya's private security team, Brute Force, and Emma Jane's boss, and her cousin's husband, Nik, and his secretive friends. I'm hoping this isn't the last we hear from this crew!

Lethal Nights
By: Lora Leigh

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Intense to the loving end!

The writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shocking moments. I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Ilya Dragonovich lives life on the dark side. Whether it is from his Russian family’s seamy connections or for the business his cousin, Ivan, runs providing safe houses, security, and other services to less than upstanding citizens. He grew up an abused young boy by the woman who should have protected him.

Emma Jane Preston met Ilya a year ago in the process of ditching a very nasty, lying, cheating husband.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Dragon and Emma are so HOT together! And I am not talking about what happens behind closed doors kind of hot. They just click. Yes you have a lot of pull and tug when it came to these two. But it all just works. You need the obstacles to get over that hump and get the HEA. Lora Leigh will keep you on your toes and wonder what will happen next! The Brute Force series are smoking and you do not want to miss out on Lethal Nights. The hot and heavy will make you break out into a sweat! You fall for these characters over and over again!

This is the third installment in the Brute Force series. This is a fantastic romantic suspense book. I have read the other books in this series and this story continues that story line wonderfully. I don’t feel you need to have read the previous stories for this one to be enjoyable. The characters are well developed and the pace of the story is fast. Lora Leigh writes sexy hot scenes and this book was no exception. It is also action packed and suspenseful. This is a very enjoyable story.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley!

Lethal Nights is book 3 in the series. While it certainly would have been helpful to read the first two, I didn't feel that I missed too much and was still able to follow the story easily.

Miss Leigh is truly a talented author. I will be reading more by her!

Love the passion between Emma Jane and Ilya. Love the suspense and danger. Love that this felt like a shifter romance even though it’s not. There’s an otherworldly element to the story; maybe the Romani/Gypsy scenarios, which added an interesting element to the story. Ilya is involved in a very dangerous world, which Emma Jane becomes embroiled in as well. Someone has sent some top assassins after Emma Jane, so Ilya comes to protect her and figure out who is out to get her. They had a moment awhile back, but it didn’t go very far because Emma Jane wanted to wait till her divorce is finalized. I didn’t like that Ilya didn’t remain true to Emma Jane during the separation, but technically they weren’t even together. I didn’t let that affect my rating; still I don’t like it. Both don’t think they are good enough for the other and a whole lot of denial is going on, but they are drawn to each other. Some really great chemistry and some hot, sweet moments. I do wish Ilya wouldn’t have thought of her as too weak to handle his lifestyle; she is a bit of a damsel, but she’s tough too and has some good sass. He is wonderfully protective of her though and you can tell how much he cares. I would’ve done 5 stars, but around the 70% mark the story slowed too much and the climax didn’t excite me as much as I wanted. There was some great build up throughout the story and the climax was fine, but I wanted a bit more. Still really enjoyed the story though. I’m really enjoying this whole series.

This author has the ability when I come across her novels to call me in. In this one she uses the agency that provides security and the characters that will head this one. Dragon and Emma take you on this ride as the battle between forces goes on around them. Having caught the first two this one still stands well on its own. Romance and suspense at its finest you get swept away as it unfolds. It is fast so you keep pace so not to miss anything. This also has sprinkles of humor too that balances it all out. One that takes you away for a minute giving the best.
