Lethal Nights is the third book in the 'Brute Force' series. I found this book to be suspenseful, fast paced, with the right amount of drama and steamy sexy scenes. I liked the heroine, Emma Jane, I felt she is a strong character with an enjoyable personality. The hero was an interesting character, Ilya aka Dragon. I'm not one for face tattoos but, I found the description of Ilya's to be interesting and possibly even sexy. The attraction between these characters was instant. Which had to be put on hold due to the fax that Emma Jane was married... to a “donkey” and getting a divorce but to her she was still married until the papers were finalized. Then four years later Emma Jane finds herself, without giving too much away, in a danger. This brings Ilya back to her door to protect her.

I do enjoy reading books by author Lora Leigh and Lethal Nights did not disappoint. I enjoyed the playful side of Emma Jane, especially when it came to the dragon tattoo on Ilya's face and the protective side they both had for each other. I am questioning the clan Ilya is a part of, the dragon clan, it sounded a bit paranormal to me. Good thing I love paranormal!

I received an ARC of this book for my honest/own review.
This is a great book, really and enjoyable read. It was fast paced and a quick read. I love how the book ties into a previous favorite series by this author, Fascinating characters, great plot and makes me want to dive into the rest of the books.

Lora Leigh writes another amazing novel. In Lethal Nights she brought together a man who is tormented by his past and a woman who is emotionally strong enough to love him despite his past. I loved the interaction between Ilya and Emma Jane. The passion and development of their relationship, developing in the midst of finding who wants Emma Jane dead, was perfect. Even though the bad guy was a little obvious midway through the book, I still enjoyed the final reveal. If this is your first Lora Leigh book you can’t go wrong. If you are already a fan, add this to your keep and reread collection.

This novel was classic Lora Leigh. It was great return to action and hot, steamy romance. Loved it! Can’t wait for the next Brute Force!

I enjoyed this story of Ilya and Emma Jane more than I thought that I would. Even though Ilya had a horrific start in life, he still had a touch of humanity, especially when it involved Emma Jane. Again, my only complaint, if you would call it that, is the hazy feeling of danger that the reading audience is unaware of but seems like we’re supposed to. It’s different than the suspense of what’s going on with Emma Jane. This wouldn’t keep me from reading any future books from Lora Leigh and I do look forward to reading, hopefully Alexi’s story.

Lethal Nights is a smoking hot contemporary, bad boy romance. Lora Leigh is the queen of super sexy romances and bad boys that will make your heart pound. Ilya Dragonovich, the Dragon, is the dragon heir set to inherit leadership of his family's large clan of Romanian gypsies. Blood thirsty and cold, Illya's childhood has shaped him into the dangerous man he is but little Emma Jane holds his dark heart. Emma was burned badly in her divorce and knows the Dragon will only lead to heartache. When danger knocks on her doorstep, Ilya cannot keep his hands to himself any longer and the Dragon comes to claim his mate. This story will leave you with heart palpitations and fanning yourself from the heat. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

I am a fan of romance and Lora Leigh. I prefer my romance stories to have a strong story line with romance intertwined. There was plenty of romance here but not much story. The story starts off with Emma Jane because of her failed marriage and is about to lose her house. For some reason, she needs a sophisticated security system. The reason is not really explained and she has a ton of over-protective males all around her, her father, brother, childhood friend who is also conveniently the sheriff and now a security expert. The security expert, Ilya, helps her save her house by getting her to sign an agreement to allow his "clients" to use it when requested (which never happens). He falls for her hard in that first negotiation. She is also interested but turns him away because her divorce isn't final. Soon after, smeone overrides her security system and tries to kill her but she escapes. Ilya returns, posing as her lover and this begins a long plodding story with no explanation for the violence until the latter part of the book. She gets a new improved security system without anyone even asking her if she wants it. Protective males and bodyguards are all around her, almost suffocating her and she doesn't really protest much. After more than half of the book, it turns out that the Russian oligarchic families, Romanian gangs, the head of the Russian Federation and a lot of other toughs are involved. This story was quite lame and it plodded along with the author doling out tidbits of information at an excruciatingly slow pace. The angst between Ilya and Emma Jane was just too much, who was going to leave who first, etc. Overall, this book was just too vague, the plot was too thin and it took too long to get any significant information about the motivation for all the attacks. I wanted to but just couldn't enjoy this book. I'm still a fan of Lora Leigh but this one just didn't do it for me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ilya, aka the Dragon Heir, has been in shadows a long time. He and Ivan fought through fire together, surviving against odds most other men would crumble against. Now working for Brute Force he hopes to somehow make up for some of the things in his previous life. When he meets the lovely Emma Jane, he sees her as a little light in his dark life but even as he helps her out of a difficult situation, he makes sure no-one will know just how important she has become to him.

Emma Jane refused her family and friends help when her scumbag ex took out loans against HER property. She finally stood up to him after years of emotional and physical abuse and divorced his ass. Sadly he can't take no for an answer. Brute Force and one very scary Dragon stepped in and asved her once but will they be able to do it again?

With threats coming thick and fast against Emma, Ilya will do what he must to protect her but can he take the final step that will seal her safety? Or will he distance himself thinking that will be safer for her, and his heart?

What stonking great read! I'm usually not a loved of Mafia type heroes but this series is more than that. it's redemption, love, suspense, action and a whole heap of passion! I loved that sweet Emma Jane seems to adopt a spine of steel against Ilya. She even flirts with the man, who tells himself he is a monster. I am hoping that Emma Jane's brother and a certain female get a book now!!!

The heat between Ilya and Emma Jane was blistering. Their passion undeniable. I felt a bit lost with some of the characters but I think that is only because I didn’t read the other books in the series. I’ll assume that anyone reading the books in order will not feel that way.

Kindly provided with an ARC via Netaglley in exchange for an honest review......
This was Ilya and Emma's story. Ilya quite the hard ar@e hit man extraordinaire. to say Ilya had a bad childhood is an understatement. This has shaped him but under neath that steel core is the heart of a good man. Emma complete opposite.....a gentle divorcee who has lost trust in the male population. Emma is absolutely NO push over though !!!!. Her crappy experience does not break her, it makes her stronger. Can these two with such fractured back grounds come together and find love and see the world in a different hue other than pain and betrayal.......lets just say Lora does a stellar job at making that happen for the reader !!!

4.5 Stars from me..... Great read. Missing the 0.5 off as it was a slow burn for the romance and I am blinking impatient !!!! Ha ha !!

Well done Lora and many thanks for this opportunity xxx

Later peeps xxx

Emma Preston needs help after her marriage crumbles to not lose her house. When it arrives unexpectedly from dangerous and alluring Ilya Dragonovich, she agrees to his terms but stands strong to her principles when she's tempted for more. Dragon has kept his interest in Emma close to his chest. So he is surprised by the attack on her one year after they've met, since he hasn't seen her since they made their arrangement. Convinced that she's in danger because of him, he rushes to her side. Slowly, Emma and Dragon find their way to each other, navigating his dark familial heritage and past and blending it with her strong and trusting nature.

Dark meets light in this third novel in the Brute Force series. I absolutely love the heritage and story behind the Dragonovich family. It's a fun idea that tracks back to the time of dragons (because yes, they are real people). This story was almost a separate series from the first two novels, bringing in this new dynamic but that only made it a better novel!

Loved reading the engaging and enthralling romance story. When Emma Jane Preston needs help in keeping her house in an ugly divorce, Iyla Dragonovich comes to her rescue. Then, when Emma is in danger, lya comes again into her life. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, captivating and riveting page turner, and a must read love story.
I reviewed a copy of the book from NetGalley.

So this book was a bit different to the others in the series, and I am not entirely sure it really fits... it is definitely more of an anti-hero type book than hero that is for sure!

I did not enjoy as much as the others in the series but it will be interesting to see where the next one goes

I enjoyed the characters but it lacked emotional engagement, we weren’t given enough to feel the importance of decisions and the impact those would have.

This was one powerful book. It kept me engaged, intrigued and delighted. Emma Jane first met Ilya at a job fair. He knew she was sad, but was called to her. He knew she was his dragon mate. After an attempt on her life, he could deny her no longer, though he did try. I was horrified by the way young Ilya was treated and how Emma Jane's ex made fun of her for her love of romantic and erotic books. The story had mystery, some great love scenes and a very satisfied Emma Jane. The Dragon Song in the end broke my heart and made me cry. So sweet. 7 stars at least for this book

Emma knew of Ilyas's reputation and knew that she should be afraid of him. But she wasn't. And even more surprising, he indicated that he had an offer for her. She decided to listen and then negotiated an agreement on her terms. In addition, Emma and Ilya formed a bond. So when danger surrounds Emma and attempts are made on her life, will Ilya be able to convince Emma and her family that he is the best one to keep her safe?

Lora Leigh has done it again, she has create it another wonderful story! Lethal Nights is an amazing book and it’s two main characters are so amazing that you can not help but cheer for Ilya and Emma to get together. To say I loved this book would be an understatement. The skill of this author to spin a tale, binding the reader, is unquestionably a talent. It's deeply sensual, provocative and brutal. The totally romantic inking of Emma Jane with her mystical Dragon was amazing. The ending gave me goosebumps. Wish I could give it six stars.

This new addition to the Brute Force Series has a mystical air about it.

Illya is a security agent with a dark past, and a legacy which he refuses to accept.

Emma Jane is looking to rebuild her life after her breakup with her husband.

Illya and Emma Jane are instantly attracted to each other when he turns up to offer help. Neither of them acts on it, until her life is threatened. She has a couple of near miss attempts on her life and Illya is there to save the day. Their chemistry is off the charts, but he doesn't wish to bring her in his dangerous world.

Deep down, he knows who might be targeting her, but due to the customs of his legacy, he doesn't act instantly. He swears that he will protect her. Can he protect her and have what their hearts desire?

The first half of the this book is a little slow and repetitive in places, but when it picks up, it's fast paced. It's sizzling hot and danger lurks in every corner. Illya and Emma Jane are great leading characters and the secondary ones are intriguing.

I was kindly issued with an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Emma Jane knew her dragon would changer her life. So she fought to protect herself in the only way she can. But when danger breaches her home will Illya show her why he is feared?
Lethal Nights is third in Lora Leigh’s Brute Force series. I really loved Illya. He is strong and alone. That is until he meets Emma Jane. She thaws the heart he forgot he had. And now danger from his past wants to destroy it. I love Illya’s strength and sense of honor. And his determination to protect Honor brings tears to my eyes.
And I adored Emma Jane. She has a power over Illya that shows the heart of this man. Her tears gut him and while he doesn’t necessarily show that to others he doesn’t hide it from himself. Ms. Leigh gave us a character in Illya which is layers upon layers. And she gave him an equally strong and complex female in Emma Jane. I love that Emma Jane did not allow Illya to walk all over her. She knew when he was scheming and called him on it. I love that she kept Illya on his toes. She kept him somewhat honest even as she brought light into his world. I loved seeing Emma Jane and Illya find their way, even as secrets and danger surrounded them.
Ms. Leigh is a wonderful wordsmith. She crafted an enjoyable read full of angst, love and humor. I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to this series and can’t wait to see where she will take us next.
