These are all a series of comics, many of which riff on pop culture. The comics all twist (and usually twist the knife). Macabre humor and endings abound.

I have a dark sense of humor, so I really liked this collection. It's also just plain funny. The art is pretty low key, but works great for the humor.

I'd never heard about this web comic, but I'm glad I came across it here. Some were better than others, of course, but many of them made me smile and a few made me chuckle. Dark silly comics are worth a look!

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. I would be laughing one moment, and then going "oh no" the next. This book is one I would classify as not safe for children. I has a lot of dark humor that they may not be able to handle.

I did enjoy reading this, I'm just not sure I would take the time to read it cover to cover again. Most likely, I would just go back to my favorites.

It was a quick read. I didn't like all comics, but some were entertaining. It depends on your taste of humor, I guess. Some comics were funny, others not so much. Most of the comics refer to childhood movies or tv shows, while some others have a different subject. Each one is one page long and stand alone. In this sense they look like memes. All in all, if you like comic strips or memes and pop culture references, I think that you'll find this book enjoyable.

A fun, quick read, something to pick up when you want a chuckle. The comics are mostly hits with some misses mixed in, but I have the feeling the misses will become hits when they catch you in the right mood. These are one-off cartoons, making it an easy book to pick up and flip to any page when you have a moment. Would make a good all-purpose gift.

With a strong shot of nostalgia mixed with a very contemporary feel, Ben Zaehringer probably won't ruin your childhood (and your adulthood), but he'll make you laugh about it. His cartoons in Sorry I Ruined Your Childhood hit the sweet spot with me generationally and with his not-crude-but-sometimes-bizarre-and-irreverant tone. His pop culture references range from "Sesame Street" and Disney movies to The Shining, Ghostbusters, and Alien.

It's not just pop culture, though. Zaehringer's sense of humor is a bit dark, maybe a bit obsessive about death, and super punny. I was laughing out loud on almost every page, but when I shared with my wife and son, they weren't as impressed.

It's always fun to find someone whose sense of humor is just as twisted as my own. Zaehringer is that cartoonist for me. Maybe he is for you, too.

Sorry I Ruined Your Childhood is a collection of comic strips from the one and only Ben Zaehringer. His humor is slightly dark but exceedingly witty and dry. And that is why I love his comics so much.
To be clear; this isn’t a comic collection full of bright and bubbly artwork and light-hearted jokes. Ben Zaehringer isn’t afraid to get dark – the title of this series should probably give that away. But for those that lean towards the cynical side, or who enjoy a dry sense of humor, this collection is perfect for you.
This collection was a chuckle-worthy read, through and through. Here so many elements from our childhoods have been pulled into comic format, and slightly altered. So as to ‘ruin our childhood.’ The humor is sometimes a little bit warped, but in the way, you might expect from this collection (again, look at the title!).
This was a fun and memorable read for me. And it was one I highly enjoyed. I’m going to have to remember to keep an eye out for more of Ben Zaehringer’s works, because he gets me.

One of the better collections of web comics I've read. Clever and funny. Even standard observations are done in a unique way. Many observations are pretty off the way.

This was such a fun collection of comics. I couldn't stop laughing at many of them. Each comic had a fun twist which is impressive since the comics were so short.

This is an extremely fun, dark, quirky, quick read filled with mostly 3-panel comic strips.

Many of them were definitely laugh-out-loud funny.

I also found a bunch of them very relatable with my friends and I showed them to my friends telling them I found each of us in this book and we all had a great laugh about it! My friends loved the comics I showed them too! :)

Some quick read, humorous web comics, often pop culture related. Zaehringer has a dark sense of humor which I appreciate.

Great mixture of various types of humor: both for the older generations and the younger generations..
Provided some laugh out loud giggles along the way.

Super happy I stumbled upon this on NetGalley. A few were familiar from scrolling aimlessly on FB so I'm glad to know the artist so I can continue to follow them.

This is a deliciously dark set of little comics. A few felt like they were incomplete panels, but most were good little stand alones.

I really really enjoyed this. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I haven’t read any of his comics before, but this had me laughing out loud when I was trying to go to sleep. This was my childhood, so I actually understood all of the references. They were funny, witty, and well thought out. I’d often flip back to a random page and I’d notice something else which made it even more funny.

These one page, often only three panel comic strips are hilarious. I had seen some of them on social media before, but the collection was the best of. Some are really dark, others really wholesome. There's Sesame Street, Harry Potter, Star Wars, God / Religious Issues, and much more in it.

If you like short comic strips, pick this one up!

*not what I expected*
I wanted to enjoy this comic so much but it came out somewhat underwhelming and lacking in humour. Maybe my expectations were too high when I picked it up. I wanted to relate to the comic but somehow it came out to be a bit over the top sometimes and sometimes trying too hard to make things funny. I am and always will be a fan of dark humour.
With the hope that I find another book by the author really enjoyable, I am looking forward to more books by the author.

Just a fantastic collection of comics. The thing I like the most about Zaehringer's work is that it always has these great twists that you don't see coming. It makes the comics fun and I know there's going to be something interesting happening all the time. The comics were also very diverse, and I found they were almost always great.

Whether or not you get the book, it's worth checking out the comics.

"Sorry I Ruined Your Childhood" by Ben Zaehringer was a hilarious comic book full of some ridiculously funny, nonsensical ideas that come out of thinking about something just a moment longer than you would normally. Each page is laugh out loud funny, beautifully illustrated and as a whole you can read the whole thing or just randomly flip through it.

Tis comics a delightfully simple and rather dark. But while they never push the envelope too far, many of them aren't that funny. I chuckled a few times but overall, there isn't consistent humor.
Fans of dark humor may enjoy this book but those who doesn't, won't.
