The DIRTY, LAZY, KETO Cookbook offers a refreshing and attainable approach to weight loss with its flexible and honest recipes, making it a perfect fit for both beginners and experienced keto enthusiasts alike.
Always a delight to find a cookbook where you want to try all the recipes. Now that I cook more often, it is great that this is an everyday sort of cookbook with easy to source ingredients. The carb count seems reasonable, which is very important for me as someone on low carb for therapeutic reasons.
Not all the recipes feature a photograph of the final product which is OK with me. The photographs that are available are colorful and beautiful.
All in all, a cookbook to be used often!
This cookbook had some really great recipes. The recipes were easy to understand and not too complicated for the average cook. I enjoyed the illustrations and look forward to making these recipes for years to come.
As a beginner following the KETO diet, I need a cookbook that doesn't just drop me in the deep end so I can transition easily from eating a lot of starch and sugar to eating none. I found the recipes in this cookbook to be easy to follow and using ingredients that are familiar to me. And they were tasty too!
Thank you NetGalley and Adams Media for an ARC of this cookbook in exchange for my honest review!
I did not love this book, I did not hate this book. It was a meh book with some decent recipes that I could get online. If I am going to purchase a solid hold in my hands cookbook I like it to be fun and inspiring. I just didn't feel much motivation to make any of these recipes. They sounded good but all pretty similar and like recipes I've tried from the net.
I’ve trying out the recipes. They are clearly written and nice ideas for anyone who’s following a dirty keto diet.
This was a very well written cookbook. I found the layout to flow well and the recipes were easy to understand and follow along to. I look forward to trying some of them out for my family.
What makes this book special are the easy, delicious recipes that use ordinary easy to get ingredients. The recipes are not too difficult or overwhelming. So far, I have made the Taco Bell Soup, Sexy Fettuccine Alfredo, and Broccoli Cheese Soup. The recipes are outstanding! The book is full of good advice and tips on how to Keto. I love the humorous tone throughout the whole book. It’s a very fun book! I have a paper copy and a digital copy of the book and the paper copy is covered with sticky notes marking the recipes I will make next. I love the popular copy cat recipes in the book. This book gives you lots of delicious Keto options that you can have so you don’t miss the high carb foods you can’t have. I couldn’t do strict Keto, so the whole Dirty Lazy Keto series of books ensure my continued success.
I really liked the author's relaxed approach to the keto diet. In many other cookbooks, I'm left with no alternatives if I'm not able or willing to eat their exact recipe, but that's not an issue with this book. Additionally, the author seems very relatable, and I enjoyed her personal story throughout the book.
This was a great honest look at Keto and if it works for you to stick with it. I'm all about bending the rules and keto is no exception. This takes that into account while not making you feel bad for cheating a little.
Great cookbook because it not only has pictures and recipes with a variety of ingredients but it also has a true story about success laid out in a very realistic way. While I am not one to eat a lot of dairy I do like that most of these recipes do not have it as a main ingredient and in face have it as more of a topping meaning that it is not integral to the recipe itself. This book offers a wide variety of recipes and I don't know that I would refer to them a dirty keto since this isn't a book on how to get by eating various processed food items that aren't as "bad" as some others or how to get by eating take-out and still having it be technically keto.. Most of the dirty lazy items seem to come at the end of the book in the dessert section and let's face it most people don't want to forgo the dessert section or try and figure out a way to make it super healthy since that is almost the opposite of what a dessert is or even purports to be. This is another good book to add to the cooking repertoire making it easy for me to be lazy when looking for recipes for my keto customers.
The DIRTY, LAZY, KETO Cookbook by Stephanie Laska; William Laska.
I must admit that I have been curious about the Keto diet but what I learned before this book, I didn't think I could make it work. But reading this author's story spoke to me on my level. The write states that they had been around 300 pounds and was able to loose the weight using the Keto diet by working it to something they can easily do. It sets us up to learn about Keto and even how to calculate net Carbs on the Dirty Lazy Keto plan. It gave in site to foods to avoid. Even gives you the grocery list you will need...which I always would like to have had. I need to be pointed in the right direction and this helps greatly. This book gives us the secrets the author had for successful weight loss. Then we get to the recipes which are great.
Really loved this book.
This book was a perfect read to select some new keto recipes to try this year!! Can't wait to dive in. The recipes that I've tried so far have been excellent and I love the pictures. Can easily see myself purchasing this in print to use often.
I found this book made it really easy to understand Keto unlike all of the reading I had been doing online. The information is clear, concise, and easy to imagine that it would be doable. Much easier to connect to with the author's story throughout. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but there are many that I'm anxious to try like Hangover bacon wrapped pickles, Starbuck's egg bites, McDonald's cheeseburger soup and broccoli cheese soup. Worth reading if you're thinking about going the keto route.
Packed with simple recipes that use easy-to-find ingredients, this book give you lots of options for meals, as well as quick reference lists for items that work (and don't work) on the keto diet and other tips. The author is very encouraging and keeps things light with her sense of humor and down-to-earth realism.
I have started this book as the busiest time in my year Christmas so I have not had the chance or the time to try many of the recipes or to even try and stick to this form of eating. But it is the plan for this year to start my Keto journey and I feel that this book may just be my Food Bible.
I love the Authors style in writing and set out of the book, she gives you the information without making you feel pressured to do it the right way. It's like reading with a friend having a chat over coffee about helpful hints. More photos would have been better as I am a visual person and tend to see something and thing Yum yum I want to make that or try that one.
The recipes are split into:
- Breakfast
- Soups and Salads
- Snacks
- Bread, pasta and pizza
- Sides
- Main dishes
- Drinks and Desserts
Like myself, I believe this book would be great for all new Keto dieters as it seems to cut all the crap out and makes you feel you can stick to the way of eating. Seems like the recipes are well fitted for families and the cost of items is what a family can afford.
I am looking forward to implementing this into my new year and hoping for some results. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC copy of this book to which I have written my honest and voluntary review.
a great book to keep around while doing the ketogenic lifestyle. It has great tips and tricks to keep losing weight.
I was hoping for quick easy tasty very low carb recipes, and this book delivered. Busy moms trying to lose the weight will appreciate the ease of finding ingredients on even the most hectic of days.
I have been following a keto/low carb lifestyle for a year now and I still really liked a flow and way to describing keto and what 'dirty keto' is. Recipes sounded appealing and easy to make. I loved the pictures of completed meals. My library already has this on order. Thanks
My doctor told me I need to go low carb and high protein for my epilepsy. Keto was originally designed as a treatment for epilepsy and my neurologist recommended a low carb, high protein, moderate keto lifestyle to see if that combined with medication would help my seizures in both frequency and severity. I've been researching and downloading every book available to find recipes that would fit my family's tastes and I've found a lot of recipes, but I've always been afraid of the cravings and the strict rules. Then I discovered Lazy Keto. As long as it fits in my macros I can eat it. I can have chocolate. I can have most vegetables (most strict keto diets have a long list of vegetables that you can't eat. I love my veggies.) I can have breadsticks and pizza!
Stephanie Laska credits her 140 pound weight loss to lazy keto because of the same reasons. Strict keto is too restricting and daunting for some people. The macros, the ketosis strips, the standing in the aisle monitoring every ingredient. The expense. And because most foods require making from spice mixes on, what if you aren't big on cooking or don't have time to make a recipe that takes an hour and a half or more plus prep every night?
Lazy keto has given me hope that I can be successful, and Stephanie's "if I can, you can" point of view and her tips for "shortcuts" alleviate some of my fears about giving up halfway through the year.
I will admit, the titles of the recipes were cheesy, and I'm not sure I'll ever believe radishes can be a substitute for potatoes in hash browns. But, there were many recipes for real food that my family will eat happily. It was 50 recipes for fat bombs and a few main dishes that involve 20 ingredients and a half a day. This will be a cookbook that will be kept closely on hand during meal planning days.
