A worthy successor to one of all-time favorite series. Rice has a way of bringing you into her red, black, and red world and you simply never want to leave.

I have already read the old book by Philippa Rice so I was delighted to keep on reading about her story and the coming of the little girl. I hope she will keep on drawing because I finde her stories delightful!

Avendo giá letto il libro precedente, sono stata molto contenta di sapere che una delle mie coppie virtuali preferite ha avuto una bambina! Ogni volta che apro Philippa Rice mi si scalda il cuore!

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

Just like her first graphic novel, the story and the art are simple but so cute. Definitely a feel good graphic novel. Even though I don’t have children, I think that everyone can relate to what the main character is going through when she discovers what is motherhood

I received a copy of this comic in return for an honest review.

'Baby' is a short comic book that depicts the highs and lows of pregnancy life, along with the authors own experiences regarding parenthood.

Firstly, I would just like to say that as my first comic book from Philippa Rice, she has completely won my heart over with her adorable drawings and I will definitely be reading all of her future works ✨

I really enjoyed seeing how the author could depict wonderfully illustrated and detailed comics whilst only sticking to 3 main colours (red, white and black). I think that it helped to add a really cozy effect to the whole story, and it genuinely made me feel warm inside 🤗

I was sad to see the comic finish, but I think the ending successfully portrayed the message of "we're embarking on a new journey".

Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a short & sweet read!

This was such a cute collection of comics! It was so interesting to see the depiction of home life and romance for this author and their significant other, plus the added drama of adding in a baby into the mix. This was such an adorable comic collection with amazing art that made up for the lack of words at times. The art style was very unique and said a lot when words were not there. The dialogue itself was amazing too. It wasn't too rough or too dense, it was perfect for the comic. This was such an easy and quick read that was super enjoyable.

Review to come in December on blog/Goodreads.

I received this comic from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I absolutely adored the first book by this author/illustrator and so I was out of my mind excited when I spotted this book on Netgalley. Of course I had to request it, of course I had to read it. And read I did. As soon as I got the book I went to reading.

This one still focuses on Phillipa Rice and her boyfriend and their life together, however this time there is a new addition to the family, a tiny little baby. Her name is Robin and throughout the book we see how the author/illustrator goes through pregnancy and then birth and then we see the tiny little baby grow up. It was immensely adorable and fun, but we also see that it is a lot of work to care for such a little one.
I had such a big laugh when she looked at her kid sideways and thought her face was wrong but found she was looking at her ear. :P

As with the previous book this one has 3 main colours, red, white, and black. I still love that those colours were selected as it brought out the story more.

So I had tons of fun reading this one, it was really sweet. I hope the author/illustrator will bring out more books about her life as she writes them in a funny/interesting way that just makes you want to know more (I hope this doesn't sound too creepy, I don't mean it in a creepy way).

All in all, recommended!

I loved Philippa Rice's first Soppy graphic novel, so when I saw this new book I HAD to read it! It was just as adorable as expected!

Like Soppy (which is all about everyday moments in a loving relationship), Baby is also about everyday life. It is not so much a story as it is a family album of snapshots of Philippa & Luke's life. It gives a look into the cute, ordinary, and sometimes emotionally difficult, everyday real moments involved during a relationship pre-baby, during-baby-growing and post-baby-popping-out. Like Soppy, the main feel of this book is relatable and very sweet. And often funny too! This bit was my favourite!

Oh and the artwork is lovely too!

I recommend this book to anyone who is about to have a baby, who has just had a baby, or to anyone who loves cute things and cartoons like me! I read it all in one sitting - couldn't put it down - I loved it!

I adored Soppy, so I had high expectations for this one and I was not disappointed!
Whereas in the first comic we had a relationship being developed, in here we have this couple in a steady relationship and finding out they're expecting.
Even though I'm not a mother, it was very easy to relate to all the steps between expecting and actually having a newborn at home. It was funny, cute and down to earth. I highly recommend it if you enjoyed the first one :)

I love this book! If you are pregnant or know someone who is, this would make a great gift, for yourself of them. This is a comic/graphic novel that shows a heterosexual couple falling in love, establishing a life together, experiencing a pregnancy and becoming parents with all of the ups and downs that this entails. The illustrations are sooo adorable and emotive. This is a sweet yet honest look at an important stage in life. Highly recommended! I give it five stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and AndrewsMcMeel publishing for this book in exchange for an honest review.

While I did quite like the first book in this series, and was very excited to see a second book on here, I did not like this second book as much. I just could not relate to the story. I feel like mothers would be able to relate to the story more, and therefore, would enjoy it more.

A simple illustrated book written for future mommy's and daddy's.
Where the illustrations aren't the most appealing for readers and maybe not what you would expect.
At the same time this book is AMAZING!!!

Why?
The answer is very sipmle.
This book isn't showing a make-up pretend story about how beautiful it is.
Because becoming a parent is so much more than being on a pink cloud.
Breasfeeding, not enough sleep - it realy is major leaug sport.
And this are just a couple of the things about parenthood what this book is so truthfull about!

As a mother, I loved this so much. I cannot wait to pick up a finished copy for myself to read multiple times. The drawings were adorable and I couldn’t stop smiling as I relived my own excitement over finding out I was going to be a mother.

This book was so sweet! I think it perfectly captures parenthood: the anticipation and fears that people feel when they discover they are expecting a baby and also what happens in their life when that baby finally comes. Parenthood definitely is a whirlwind of emotions and these comics show it so well and in such a nice and cute way. I love how the author fully represented the everyday life with a baby in the house. I truly recommend this book!

Cute, but true to the bone, of getting pregnant and having a baby, and all the joys and exhaustion alone the way, but with the humor that Phillippa has shown in her past cartoons.

<img src="https://g2comm.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/baby.png" alt="" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5458" />

The humor plays on how baby changes everything, but also Philipp's love for her husband, no matter what. and for the baby as well.

Perfect for new moms, and others who still remember what the early months are like.

This comic was so relatable. I laughed and had flashbacks to everytime I felt these emotions or these things happened in our life. Great comic and it was impressive to be so relatable and emotional with few words.

For the beginning of your relationship to the first few months of baby’s life this is a wonderful book to enjoy.

The bold red, black, white color scheme was eye catching.

I love Philippa Rice's work so much that I immediately started reading this book right after Andrews McMeel Publishing approved my advance copy request. I couldn't think of doing anything else!!

And I wasn't disappointed at all. "Baby" is hilarious!!

I love when she tells him "Stop asking me about every tiny thing. Figure it out for yourself!" and then literally comes back on the next page telling him to use cream, to do this, this, this and that. Omg, all moms are really the same.

The struggle is so real. hahaha

I don't have kids yet, but from what I've seen from people close to me all these moments are so very relatable. Great read!!

This is so cute! It is a perfect book for mummies or mum-to-be. I am a little boy's mum and I can tell this is 100% accurate. It was like going back to my pregnancy days having the same problems. And then with the baby, it almost made me cry. I thought I am the only one with these kind of moments and thoughts. I am relieved that I am not crazy.
This book is for every mummies and daddies to remember how was when you met for the first time your little ones. And if you're thinking to have a baby then you should read this book to know what you'll expect.
