This was an engaging and enjoyable read I enjoyed the setting and the discovering of both MCs secrets and thought the ending was well done. It was hopeful but not overly wrapped up in a bow.

This dark and tragic romantic mystery has everything you want. There are secrets, there is new love. The characters are multidimensional and raw. I loved the Alice and Noah interactions as the story went on! Very solid suspense mystery!

This was not the book for me. I guess romantic suspense is not my genre. I couldn't get into this story and care about the characters and their troubles. The main character Noah seemed very whinny to me. He couldn't stand up to his own family, It felt a bit unrealistic, especially the angriness with the brother. The love story was cute, for "swept off your feet" but also the ending to their story felt disappointing.

Like I said, it might not be for me. But it might be for you, if you enjoy lots of family drama, secrets, and swept up love story.

Noah & Alice meet in Thailand, they are both from Australia. While Noah is on a much needed vacation from the family business, Alice lives in Thailand. They begin to fall in love.

Noah’s brother, Tom, has been a person of interest in the disappearance of his high school girlfriend, Lizzie, for years. While he’s run off from the speculation, Noah has remained with his parents to run the family restaurant…. And he resents Tom for not only that but he believes his brother is guilty.

Noah must get back to Australia for an inquest regarding Lizzie’s disappearance. But Alice has her own secrets regarding her past… will this new relationship survive the secrets of their families?

I enjoyed this story, I was not expecting the twist at the end of it!

A scenic, enthralling mystery set in Thailand? Count me in! This was such a fun read, very tense. I loved the "mistaken identity" aspect.

In Sara Foster's You Don't Know Me, this psychological thriller will leave you gasping for air and chilled all over in the end. For Noah Carruso, he worked in his family's restaurant in Sydney and lived in fear of his brother Tom's shadow. Over a decade ago, Lizzie Burdett's, Tom's girlfriend disappeared and never to be seen again. When an inquest pops up and a true crime podcast reporting the mystery, it drudged up painful memories on that fateful night when he was fifteen. On vacation in Thailand, he bumps into a woman named Alice Pryce, who looked similarly to Lizzie with her red hair. She's an ESL teacher there and escaped from her painful past with her own burden to share. Their relationship was magical and blissful when they shared memories together. But when Noah's called back home to help out with the inquest, they parted. For Alice, she lived in fear and stayed in Thailand, her father was behind bars for a crime. The haunting memories of that faithful night when danger loomed and targeted them. When she receives a call about her father's health condition in Sydney, she returns home and reunites with Noah, revealing a partial truth of the past, bridging them closer together and meets his family. Together, they faced the demons that shrouded them with dread. When Noah's brother returns home for the inquest, he learns things haven't changed and new questions resurface on what happened. When it was Noah's turn to testify, he revealed all, suspicion, curiosity and blame. And when someone threatened their restaurant with a bomb scare, he discovers the shocking truth about that night and who'd done it..someone closer to home. But in the end, it couldn't face seeing Alice until they meet again.

:Lizzie Burdett was eighteen when she vanished, and Noah Carruso has never forgotten her. She was his first crush, his unrequited love. She was also his brother's girlfriend."

I enjoyed this novel. I liked Alice and Noah and hoped they would end up together. I love books that are told from different perspectives. This book alternated between Alice and Noah.

It was a good read. Not phenomenal, but enjoyable.

4 Stars for You Don't Know Me by Sara Foster!

Happy Release Day to You Don't Know Me!

This was the first book I've read by Sara Foster so I wasn't aware how strong her descriptions and character development are. A bit slow for me in the middle, but the end was like a grand finale fireworks presentation, saving all the gusto and bang for the last bit of the book.

In the face of tragedy, suspense, and mystery, a profound love story exists. Pulled together by pasts peppered with secrets, doubts, and guilt, Noah and Alice fall in love when they are both escaping on vacation from their "normal," lives. When vacation is over and they must return to what they walked away from, everything they know and believe to be true will be tested.

This book kept me guessing until the very end. I felt very attached to Noah and wanted him to be the good guy when the final page was turned.

A great distraction, intense, and worthy of a great recommendation from me, thank you @Netgalley @blackstonepublishing and @sarafosterauthor for a great read before the rest of the world gets their hands on it. #booksforcorona #bookstoescape #bookstoread #4stars #bookreview #bookblog #sendmebooks #booklover #booknerd #bookedlunch #stayuplatetoread #releaseday #suspenseful #pageturner #lookinabook #blackstonepublishing #netgalley

A Tragic And Dark Romantic Mystery!

A beautiful and vibrant young, teenage girl is missing after a fight with her boyfriend and he becomes the major person of interest in her disappearance. Fast forward twelve years in Thailand a young man is waiting on a dock for a boat taxi when he suddenly sees or think he sees a young woman who looks just like Lizzie the girl who haunts his dreams and who has never been seen again after that disastrous night when she went missing.

This was a dark, fast read about an possibly doomed romance in beautiful Thailand with all the pain and anguish that goes along with the disappearance of a loved one. There are several key players in this romantic mystery and just when I thought I had all the answers, bam, a huge boulder knocked me off my feet with a crazy ending to the heartbreaking mystery that I never saw coming. There were many dark secrets within this story along with the beautiful, descriptive scenery and background settings which helped to hold my interest while reading.

I want to thank the publisher "Blackstone Publishing" and Netgalley for this advanced reading copy and any opinions expressed are unbiased and my own!

I have give this book a rating of 3 1/2 Tragic ⭐⭐⭐ Stars!!

Noah Carruso is on a well deserved vacation. When he sees Alice Pryce, his first thought is that she looks eerily like Lizzie Burdette. Lizzie was 18 when she disappeared, after a huge argument with Tom Carruso, Noah's brother and Lizzie's boyfriend. She's never been found.

Tom couldn't take all the accusations and left to not return in a decade. There is now an inquest into Lizzie's disappearance and Tom is back to face the accusations once again.

Noah and Alice fall for each other hard ... but they both have secrets.

Is the truth worth telling if it will destroy everything?

This is a well written psychological thriller with a well paced plot. It starts as a love story but develops into so much more. I liked the interaction between Alice and Noah. The family dynamics were different for both, but it was the family that made them who they were. There were some twists along the way ... and the conclusion was surprising and unexpected.

Many thanks to the author / Blackstone Publishing / Netgalley for the digital copy of this riveting mystery. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Alice and Noah both have secrets. They meet when he's on holiday in Thailand where she's teaching. He's been dealing with the strain of the upcoming inquest into the disappearance twelve years before of his brother Tom's girlfriend Lizzie. Alice looks remarkably like the Lizzie Noah imagines. Noah was only 15 at the time and when Tom disappeared, a lot fell on him. He manages the family restaurant and his parents as best he can. When Alice comes back to Australia, well, all bets are off. I liked that this is told Alice and Noah's voices with bits of a podcast in between. This is well done, complicated, and touches on lots of family issues. It's just twisty enough to keep you guessing (even though you might get what Alice's secret is early on) and is as much a domestic drama as a mystery. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC. A good read.

Tom and Lizzie were sweethearts until after a terrible.argument one night Lizzie goes missing. Noah, Tom's brother, always suspected Tom of killing her because he was witness to that horrific argument. A inquest is being held twelve years later and Tom who has been away all of these years is back. In the meantime Noah has met Alice Pryce, a girl who reminds him of Lizzie. Alice knows nothing about Noah's situation and Alice has secrets of her own. How this all comes together is amazing.and written in such a descriptive way you will not be able to put it down until the very last page. I highly recommend this fast paced, beautifully written book.

I thought I knew where this story was going from the beginning - - but no - - it took a different direction. Several times in fact!! Lots of family drama, lots of mystery, and more than enough romance. What are the odds of two people with such damaged backgrounds finding each other? But they did.

Clues were dropped right and left throughout the book as to what had happened to Lizzie. I did have an inkling of what turned out to be the ending but then thought - naah, that seems too preposterous and cruel. Which it was!

This is a page-turner!

When Noah and Alice meet in Thailand they quickly fall in love, but both are carrying baggage from their past. As they head back to their homes in Australia because of family commitments, they soon come face to face with that past. Noah to his family restaurant and an inquest, and Alice to her fathers bedside after an injury. Both must come to grips with their past before they can have a future. With a mystery at its core, this was a fast paced read. Told in two voices and interspersed with a true crime podcast, this book was filled with family drama and the outcome of its actions leaving us filled with hope by the end.

My worst reading experiences are the ones when I'm expecting something and then end up being totally disappointed. This book turned out to be just that so I will try to keep this review brief. I think I have run into the problem of books being marketed as one things but end up being something entirely different. This book is marketed as a thriller (I was expecting a thriller), but I honestly thought it read more like romantic suspense. For me, there was too much romance and it was a little on the mushy side at times especially with the dialogue. I would have been okay with this had I not been expecting a thriller. Also, I found it to be repetitive in places and that made it a bit of a chore to read. It was so slow at times that I had to force myself to finish. The mystery at the heart of the story was just okay. However, I did think the plot was good. I just wish that it had maybe been executed differently. The book did pick up a little and I found myself wanting to know how it would all play out, but I it didn't quite make up for the slow start. The first half or so felt like it was leading to nowhere. I found myself wishing that the book would just get on with it and I was impatient with the pacing. Aside from that (or because of it), I never really got into the story and I didn't connect with it or the characters. It was also a bit unrealistic. I understand bad things happen but I think some of the trauma the characters went through was unnecessary.

My overall feelings about the book are that it is a light and easy read. If you are into suspense novels that aren't too dark then I think you would enjoy this. If you are looking for a gripping thriller; be warned there is nothing about this book that qualifies it to be called a thriller. I did enjoy the podcast elements of the story and I think that the ending was satisfying. All in all, this was an okay read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the advanced readers' copy.

This was a good book. It was a page turner and left you guessing. I think, for me, it seemed more of a romance and went on about a look alike. I enjoyed it, but not what I was expecting.

This is more of a romance than a thriller. There is mystery surrounding what happened to Lizzie, but it takes a back burner to Noah and Alice's love story. The ending reveal about Lizzie was a shocker I didn't see coming. Alice's secret was easy to figure out from the start. I didn't really find any of the characters intriguing enough to become invested in. I did find the very end to be a satisfying conclusion that I didn't necessarily expect.

The immediate connection Noah feels for Alice is unavoidable. She reminds him of his brother’s ex-girlfriend, Lizzie, who went missing years before. Alice feels an intense connection to Noah in return and they spend the rest of his holiday together and vow to see each other again soon.

When Lizzie disappeared twelve years prior, Noah heard Lizzie and his brother fighting, and has held a few secrets from that night as sort of a loyalty to his family. Only, when Noah makes it back at home Noah’s family is facing a new inquest into the Lizzie’s disappearance and Noah must come to a moral decision to tell the truth after all these years. Likely, his meeting Alice plays a part in his decision, or possibly his disdain for his brother, but either way Noah finds he must tell the truth.

Alice holds a secret of her own. Once all the secrets come out will Noah and Alice be able to accept and find a way to stay together?

We knew we had to read this one after several book clubs submitted reviews that were mixed and divided. I feel as though this one might have been better categorized in one of the drama categories rather than suspense or psychological thrillers. Although it did have good elements to add it to those categories, I felt it lacked the actual suspenseful reactions and also felt no real connection to any of the characters. To be fair, I did read it after several really good suspense/thrillers that I added to my most loved list and that may have also played a role in my opinions.

Overall though this was a good read, I enjoyed it, and don’t feel like I wasted my time.

Years ago a young girl disappeared. Tom, her boyfriend at the time, has been under suspicion since. Now years later Tom is returning to town because of an official inquest into her death. Tom’s family relationships were strained before the death and are even worse now. Noah, Toms brother suspects his brother is the killer. The story is told from the viewpoint of 2 characters, Noah and his girlfriend Alice. You don’t know what to believe. It is obvious people are keeping secrets but there is a twist at the end that I never saw coming! Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
