As the inquest looms, Noah meets Alice Pryce on holiday. They fall for each other fast and hard, but Noah can’t bear to tell Alice his deepest fears. A young woman, the love interest of two brothers disappears. Tom Caruso was Lizzie’s boyfriend, but his brother Noah loved her from afar. When Lizzie disappeared, Tom left town not long after, leaving many in town to wonder whether he had something to do with her disappearance. Now, years later, Tom is back for the official inquest into his former girlfriend’s disappearance. At the same time Noah meets and falls for Alice Pryce; but both Noah and Alice have secrets that could destroy everyone and everything they hold dear.
Very interesting read. It follows two characters, Noah and Alice, young lovers, each with tragic pasts that they keep hidden. Although this sounds rather melodramatic, the story is beautifully shaped and intriguing. YOU DON'T KNOW ME made me want to read other books by Foster.
Interesting character study - do you uncover the truth after so many years., even if it can destroy all around.? Good thriller, my first read by this author. Well written and well paced.
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher. Fast paced, thrilling read! A surprising twist you will not see coming. Noah and Alice both have secrets but will their live overcome them or will it all be undone?
Secrets destroy relationships. What if you had a secret that involved murder and mayhem would you tell anyone? Would you live in the fear if anyone knew the truth about you? Meeting new people can sometimes be a good thing or bad thing. You can't trust everyone. This book proves that wow!
This thriller was fast, exciting, and full of surprises. I enjoyed the plot, character, and shocking ending. This is my first time reading Sara Foster and I look forward to reading more of her work.
It has been twelve years since Lizzie disappeared. No one knows what happened. Noah suspects his brother Tom. After all he heard the devastating argument between Tom and Lizzie the night she vanished.
He just wants to put the past behind him. Traveling to Thailand seems like the perfect solution. A time away from the family Restaurant. There he sees Alice. She could almost be a clone for Lizzie. He is moving g forward putting his life together.
When the inquisition into Lizzie's death start he vows to tell the truth about everything he heard that night. He will no longer be afraid if his brother.
Things have a way of going there own way. What follows is devastating and may destroy everything he holds dear in life.
Thrilling, dark, exciting! Everything a thriller needs!.
I enjoyed this book from the outset. It’s a quick page turner and keeps you wondering which direction the story will take next. The mystery of “what happened to Lizzie Burdett” was intriguing and I was always guessing as to who the real villain was. However, when the truth was finally revealed I wasn’t expecting it all …… I love a surprising twist!
I adored two of the central characters, Noah and Alice. They have their own secrets, but their emotional love story really shines through. You find yourself hoping their love really will overcome all the secrecy, mystery and family betrayals which threatens to undo them.
I loved how this novel managed to combine mystery with the drama of complicated family relationships. This is the first book I have read by Sara Foster and I loved her style of writing, I can’t wait to read her others.
Years ago a young girl disappeared. Tom, her boyfriend at the time, has been under suspicion since. Now years later Tom is returning to town because of an official inquest into her death. Tom’s family relationships were strained before the death and are even worse now. Noah, Toms brother suspects his brother is the killer. The story is told from the viewpoint of 2 characters, Noah and his girlfriend Alice. You don’t know what to believe. It is obvious people are keeping secrets but there is a twist at the end that I never saw coming! Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
When Noah and Alice meet in Thailand they quickly fall in love, but both are carrying baggage from their past. As they head back to their homes in Australia because of family commitments, they soon come face to face with that past. Noah to his family restaurant and an inquest, and Alice to her fathers bedside after an injury. Both must come to grips with their past before they can have a future. With a mystery at its core, this was a fast paced read. Told in two voices and interspersed with a true crime podcast, this book was filled with family drama and the outcome of its actions leaving us filled with hope by the end.
Tom and Lizzie were sweethearts until after a terrible.argument one night Lizzie goes missing. Noah, Tom's brother, always suspected Tom of killing her because he was witness to that horrific argument. A inquest is being held twelve years later and Tom who has been away all of these years is back. In the meantime Noah has met Alice Pryce, a girl who reminds him of Lizzie. Alice knows nothing about Noah's situation and Alice has secrets of her own. How this all comes together is amazing.and written in such a descriptive way you will not be able to put it down until the very last page. I highly recommend this fast paced, beautifully written book.
I thought I knew where this story was going from the beginning - - but no - - it took a different direction. Several times in fact!! Lots of family drama, lots of mystery, and more than enough romance. What are the odds of two people with such damaged backgrounds finding each other? But they did.
Clues were dropped right and left throughout the book as to what had happened to Lizzie. I did have an inkling of what turned out to be the ending but then thought - naah, that seems too preposterous and cruel. Which it was!
This is a page-turner!
