This series is so good! The story is full of suspense, twists, and turns, as Kaely Quinn tries to figure out who is trying to copy her father's murders. I find profiling interesting, and love what Nancy Mehl has done with this series.

This was an EPIC conclusion to the trilogy. I am baffled by the way Nancy writes -- such a fantastic writer. I honestly have no words for joy I had in reading this trilogy. From beginning to end I was hooked. The character development, the plots, the twists, the romance -- everything was superb.

Book three we see Kaely confront her father after a copycat killer comes about. She's on the verge of breaking down, but she pulls on her faith like never before in this book. Her growth from book one to three was absolutely outstanding. Kaely faced her trials and tribulations with the strength of God. I adored her.

Noah also had some great developments with his personal growth and his faith. I loved seeing him face his own trauma and move forward with life. His faith journey was so raw and real. Loved seeing him get real with God and himself.

The romance was everything to me!! It was slow, progressive and realistic. I loved seeing them both go through the motions and really allow themselves to be vulnerable with one another.

The killer --- was both a shock and not at the same time. I honestly thought it would be Jason, but finding out I was right on my second guess made me extremely happy. Also with how close I was to the possibility of the killer. Insane! I absolutely L O V E D this!!!

I am officially a fan of Nancy's writing and can't wait to read her newest release, Night Fall, if you are a fan of Criminal Minds I would HIGHLY recommend this trilogy.

Wow! Edge of your seat suspense that I couldn't wait to see who was the culprit. Fast paced and moved along where I didn't want to put it down. Definitely going on my favorites list.

Dead End is the third installment from Nancy Mehl's Kaely Quinn Profiler series. I think this one is my favorite of the series. It was a great read and deserves five plus stars.

If you like intense romantic suspense, with the emphasis on suspense, this Kaely Quinn, Profiler series by Nancy Mehl may be the one for you. I just finished the third and final book, Dead End. Personally, Mehl has taken me to the end of my ability to endure with her Kaely character. Kaely is very focused on her work and will let nothing get in the way of her catching the worst criminals. Even if her methods are unorthodox. Unfortunately, her pride threatens her relationships with God and her special coworker, Noah.
Noah and Kaely travel to Iowa to interview Kaely’s father, an infamous serial killer, in hopes of stopping a new serial killer. While Kaely may be the only hope to get the Raggedy Man to talk, will she self-destruct before the mission is accomplished?
Noah grows by leaps and bounds in this novel, but I almost want to tell Noah he’s headed down a dead-end path.
Never did I see the ending coming.
I appreciated that Mehl shows
equal parts evil and good in this fictional crime-chiller story. Mehl shows that man’s depravity comes from the pit itself. Only God can combat that kind of horrendous opposition, and we must be fully equipped. As such, there is a lot of Scripture included in this book.
Who will Kaely rely on- herself, her unusual friend, God, and or Noah?
Noah knows God doesn’t always rescue His people. Grab this book and grab your closest huggable as you read super-speed to discover whether Kaely can survive.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher through NetGalley. This in no way influenced my opinions, which are solely my own.

Her past just came back to haunt her...

I've been waiting for this book, I think since reading the first Kaely Quinn Profiler novel. I just knew that when Kaely's past decided to reemerge as her present things would get exciting, and a lot more chilling. Dead End was definitely all of that and exceeded my expectations.

There were so many twists and turns to this story that I could barely keep up with all of the danger and drama from page to page. There are red herrings and switches-on-switches. And just when you think you've got it all solved, nope, you find out you were totally off...or were you? Nancy Mehl is certainly a master at weaving tales of psychological unrest that take her characters to the brink and completely engross readers.

Those psychological elements really do make the story. They take the plot out of the realm of the average romantic suspense novel and into something much better. Kaely's internal battles are just as important to the plot as her desperate race to catch a killer.

As you can probably tell I really enjoyed Dead End, trying to guess the killer's identity, which I sort of did though the motivation came as a surprise, and just the general creepiness of the book's ambiance. Good stuff! But then, I could expect nothing less from a Nancy Mehl novel...

This book wrapped up The Kaily Quinn Profiler series by Nancy Mehl. This has been one my favorite suspense series to date.

I couldn't be more happy with the conclusion of this series. It was so perfect. We finally get to meet Kaely's dad and we get answers as to why he was the evil man that he was. There is also plenty of new mystery and page turning suspense.

I can't wait for the next series from this author. She has quickly become my favorite!

Kaely Quinn, a behavior analyst or criminal 'profiler', is a character that I could have hung out with for another dozen books or so. I sense that "Dead End" is the last of this series, therefore making it a trilogy, and I am so sad to say goodbye to this insanely interesting and quirky individual.

I've read a lot of Nancy Mehl's books, and the"Kaely Quinn Profiler" trilogy is by far my favourite work of hers so far. "Dead End" can be read as a stand alone book, but you will not get the same satisfaction or depth if you don't read the other two books first (both of which I highly recommend).

This trilogy is about a woman named Kaely Quinn who is the daughter of an infamous serial killer. To combat the evil in the world and to try and understand how her father, a man who had always appeared so normal, could in actuality be a notorious serial killer, she joined the FBI. Through her own unique and sometimes frightening methods, Kaely has become an incredible profiler and helped many law agencies find their UNSUB. However, her unusual techniques aren't without their dangers.... and as Kaely struggles to deal with the demons of her past she begins to loose control of her methods...and her confusing relationship with Noah.

As time races by, Kaely fights to hold herself together and push the demons back as she and Noah confronted one of the most difficult cases of her career - one that again involved her notorious father and an apparent copy-cat killer.

If you like thrillers and detective type stories, you will love this one. Highly recommend this series!

Dead End is the final book in the Kaely Quinn Profiler trilogy.

This book deals with Kaely having to deal with her father in order to stop a new copy cat killer that is using his method. This brings up a lot of unresolved feelings that she's had since his arrest, while also dealing with the coping mechanisms she's made in order to be a good profiler.

Overall this book was going to be 4 stars, right up until the last little bit, but we'll get to that later on. Kaely and Noah have been assigned to figure out why a copy cat killer is now in her hometown and using her dad's old MO to kill people. This is a really rough case for Kaely in multiple different ways, but mostly because it means she will have to deal with and see her dad for the first time since he was arrested. This brings up all the old feelings as well as her trying to figure out why and how he could live this double life for so long. The lead up to what was going on, and how it was all happening was very well done and I could not figure out for the life of me who the new copy cat was. I really liked this part of the story and how you knew it had to be someone close, but it was impossible to figure out who it was due to how focused Kaely was on her dad and who he could have potentially talked to since he supposedly had very little contact with anyone. Noah did a good job in this one as well with trying to take off as much pressure as possible from Kaely in order to allow her to deal with what was going on emotionally and made it possible for her to be able to work the case as best as possible. Still, some shady things were surrounding them brought in, and I still don't get why she was allowed to work on a case that was so close to her.

Now onto the part that I really did not like and made me take a whole star away from the book. That was Kaely and her work partner Noah now rushing towards an engagement. They've never been on a real date before, really acknowledged that they like each other in a romantic way (even though the tension could be felt), but yes Noah let's go ahead and propose a marriage... like really that's how you're going to end the trilogy is with them now suddenly being okay and dealing with there pasts enough to propose marriage. Why must all Christian fiction mysteries that deal with law enforcement recently end in this way?. I really don't get it and I'm over this trope.

I have loved this series, and think that it’s one of the best from Nancy Mehl. We learn a little bit more about Kaely’s background, and how she now must confront her past, especially as it relates to her father, in order to help find a killer. Kaely and Noah make a wonderful team, and their partnership is one of the best things about this book. It’s great reading this level of suspense written with a Christian perspective. There’s a strong theme of love and forgiveness. This story is suspenseful and intriguing. You can read this book on its own, but if you enjoy this one, be sure and go back and read the other books in the series.

Dead End by Nancy Mehl is book 3 in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series. Each of the books in this series has been amazing. This book is a mesmerizing conclusion to the series. The only problem— I want more books! Ms Mehl has created such deep, fascinating characters with very real flaws and idiosyncrasies. This book places them all at their breaking point when Kaely has to face her serial killer father. So much suspense and unexpected twists. Readers of suspense will not be disappointed. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

No! That's my reaction. I don't want this series to end. I have loved it too much. There is just too much more that I want to know about Kaely Quinn and her life. I'm sure there are lots more cases she needs to solve too.

This book read hard and fast. I could not read it fast enough. I knew that I was going to just blow through this book and because of that I didn't start reading it until the kids went to bed and then I sat down knowing I'd go through the whole thing.

Seeing Kaely meet her father again after all these years was something else. She definitely changes to a different person around him. And her profiling is getting out of hand. She can't let the devil win. Because she has to conclude that yes the devil is real and a dark presence is trying to invade her life.

But who is actually mimicking her father's killings? Can Kaely beat the clock and find it out or will she and her brother lose their lives first?

Dead End is the third and final book in Nancy Mehl‘s Kaely Quinn Profiler series. Over the past two books, we’ve watched Kaely go toe-to-toe with various serial killers. But in Dead End she’s forced to face the most personal one of all: her father.

Special Agent Noah Hunter has been paired with Kaely throughout the whole series, but he’s grown to care for her. A dangerous situation for his heart since she has a tendency to run toward personal harm without thinking things through. So when she’s given a task that could unravel her completely, he refuses to leave her side.

As I’ve said in my reviews of the first two books, Nancy Mehl is amazing at creating real characters. So real that it’s a little scary to be so close to understanding the mind of someone so troubled. If thrillers are your favorites, you have to read this series! I tend toward books that are not quite so intense, but I’m glad I read this series. It was fantastic writing, story telling, and character creation.

If you do choose to read Dead End, you absolutely should read the other two books first. Watching Kaely’s arc makes this book so satisfying. Plus it gives better backstory to understand Noah’s actions. Neither are the same from the first pages of Mind Games through Fire Storm to the end of Dead End.

I enjoyed these stories and I hope you will, too!

Dead End by Nancy Mehl is packed full of suspense, tensions, and action. I loved this book! The characters both big and small created the perfect blend in every category needed to create this romantic suspense novel. I needed to know more about the characters and their situations as I flipped through the pages. A dark cloud hung onto each scene. That left me wondering when the danger planned for the protagonists was going to happen. Excitement, wonder, and a dread filled me as I followed Kaely and her FBI partner.

Kaely is a young woman whose life was destroyed by her serial killer father. He was a psychopath. Loved his family like a possession but killed others without mercy. Kaely has a lot of issues to work through but she is tough and clever. She has to be brave to face her past and now future.

Bodie began to be found. Some could be her daddy’s but others prove that there is a copycat killer loose. Kaely is sent in Tom discus it with her father. A father who is looked up tight and is a killer himself. However, someone unknown is pulling strings and even Kaely’s father isn’t safe…

Overall, Dead End was well-written. I couldn’t stop reading. Nancy Mehl has once again proven she is the master of suspense and emotional rollercoaster rides.

DEAD END by Nancy Mehl is the third (and I think final) book in the Kaely Quinn series. The stories do stand alone, but fans will want to read them in order.

DEAD END has a serious creepy factor going, but it wasn't overly scary. There is a great faith message included, but some more conservative readers might be offended by one character drinking.

The who-dun-it factor was fantastic. I did have it figured out early on, but only because I read a lot of this genre, and know how it works.

If you like mysteries or suspense you will love DEAD END.

Well, it looks like the whole series is going to land at about a 2.5 rating for me. Kaely had a lot of promise but the constant zoom-in/zoom-out approach to her POV made it hard to get into her head as a character. One minute I'd be reading her inmost thoughts and fears and the next I would find out she'd done something plot-changing without me even having seen her do it. This trend continued in this book and took me out of the story every time.

Faith element: this one bugged me, honestly. Obviously the book is aimed toward a Christian audience and the readers are expected to know the meaning of general "Christianese" terms but Noah's not supposed to be a Christian and yet Kaely expects him to know the meaning of such terms. Faith, prayer, God, spiritual warfare, and a few other things are mentioned. It's said that Kaely has grown uncomfortable with "summoning the evil" of the subjects she "interviews." It is never mentioned <I>why</I> she should have a problem with this, though even in Christian circles many folks don't think it's wrong to hang out with evil. I felt like she could have easily had a reason to quit using her method based on her beliefs, but that was never addressed. Also there was zero mention of Jesus or of what salvation means; just "you ought to be saved" and no witness to Noah etc about what we need saving from. So it really seemed to send a mixed message that was missing most of the meat and wasn't a good example to readers of how to share the Gospel with unbelievers. It also resulted in me continuing to feel ambivalent about whether or not <spoiler> Noah was actually going to get his life right with God or if he was simply going to "become spiritual" and pray to a generic God rather than a specific Christian one. </spoiler>

This one has a serial killer to catch but I didn't think it was quite as dark a serial killer as the first book of the series. Maybe just because I spotted the killer right away? I don't know. There is a staggering body count--just saying.

Overall, while the plot of the book is solid and the author's handle of the written word is good, I continued to struggle with the POVs and the habit of keeping secrets from the reader for no reason. It kept me from feeling much suspense because they did it so often that I was quite sure they were doing it again and had no fears for them. Also, Kaely's methods are so unorthodox that I really didn't get to find out much of what it's really like to be a BAU agent (I'd have liked to see a contrasting view of the criminals from Noah to balance Kaely's methods which better reflects the actual FBI procedures).

This is book three to a series starring Kaely Quinn, profiler. She has a partner, Noah, who is there to support and be with her. So in order to understand what is going on in this book, you must read the first two books in this series.

With this story, more bodies are being found in a plot of land where Kaely's father had buried victims from crimes committed before he was sent to prison. But now, there is a copy cat murderer out there, committing the same crime, but with a twist. It looks like it is her father's M.O., but it isn't.

Kaely is sent to find out from her father what is going on, but in the midst of all this, there is an internal struggle that she is fighting. Those around her can see the signs, except for herself.

As for the story itself, I found myself not liking this particular book. And from what I've read, this is the last in the series. But for me, I thought there were too many unanswered threads that started within the book and was not completed. Like the dark forces that Kaely encountered in her session and her issues with her father. I felt like everything at the end was tied up in a pretty bow and that was it. Instead, I was left with more questions than answers with this book.

While I've always enjoyed Nancy Mehl's books in the past, this book and series is going to make me strongly question my robotic grasp of purchasing or reading her books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, Bethany House via NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.
