I adore suspense, romantic suspense, and thrillers novels. I get excited about a novel or series that features a reoccurring serial killer. I know. You're probably turned off now, but I love the hunt for someone and picking up on the clues and red herrings, trying to distract me from figuring out who the villain is. In Nancy Mehl's current series, Kaely Quinn Profiler, I have enjoyed the series because of the heroine's perspective. Being a serial killer's daughter is completely different and unique. She brought something new to the table. There is some romance between Kaely and Noah, a fellow officer, but nothing to touchy-feeling. Not for the true contemporary romance fans. Way more downplayed. I loved the action and suspense in Dead End. It really captured my attention. I was at lunch at work and reached the climactic point at the end of my lunch, and I didn't want to return. Needed to see how the story played out. The little disappointment for the story was that I figured out who the killer was in this novel before the end. Not that it took away from the story. I just read so many of these suspense novels that I usually have them figured out. Overall, Dead End was an enjoyable read. Definitely a series for my keeper shelf. If readers enjoy Lynette Eason, then I recommend picking up this series.
I received a complimentary copy of Dead End by Nancy Mehl from Bethany House Publishers, but the opinions stated are all my own.
When I saw this book was available on Netgalley I jumped at the chance to read it. Nancy Mehl's books always keeps me in suspense and this series has been exceptionally good. Kaley Quinn has a lot of baggage to deal with. Who wouldn't if you had a serial killer as a father. In the latest case a body is discovered in a shallow grave. The way she was murdered lines exactly with Ed Oliphant's method of operation. A few other bodies were discovered that were done by the same person but a few older that were definitely the work of Ed Oliphant. What they are dealing with is a copycat killer but how in the world did the newest killer learn about Ed Oliphant's methods. These were details that were not revealed in the press so he must be getting the scoop directly from Ed Oliphant who is in prison. Kaley and Noah go on a quest to find answers.
There are some reviewers who said they guess who the copycat killer was but I thought it was someone else and I was wrong. Sometimes I guess but this time I did not. In this book Kaley was able to achieve healing. Here friendship with Noah developed into something more but was not the main focus in this book. I look forward to any new series this author will write and I'm sure she has more in the works.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bethany Publishers for providing me an ebook of this book to read and review. Dead End is due to be released on March 31, 2020
DEAD END by NANCY MEHL is the third book in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series. I could not put it down and I guarantee you will not be able to put it down either! It is a fast paced psychological thriller with a great Christian message and an undercurrent of romance.
Kaely Quinn is a profiler who works for the FBI and is called upon to interview her father, an unrepentant serial killer, in prison, in order to try and find out who the copycat killer of several young women is, before any more die. It is very traumatic for her, and also for her good friend, FBI agent, Noah Hunter, who is very protective of her.
The characters are well defined and the plot is well worked out. We are kept guessing right to the end.
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling the read for you.
I highly recommene Dead End for anyone who enjoys this genre.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
Dead End is book number three in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series by Nancy Mehl. While I believe this could be read as a standalone, I think it can best be enjoyed by reading the previous books as well. I found that while I enjoyed book two, I really did enjoy this story even more and I think that was in part because I had had the chance to get to know Kaely more in the previous book.
If you haven't been introduced to Kaely yet, you're in for a treat... I truly adore this character. She's flawed, without a doubt, but she's so unique that I cannot help but be drawn into her world. The stories are good, but it's the character that really makes it. In Dead End we get an even deeper look into her mind and her rather unique way of thinking things through, and I couldn't get enough. While I'm not certain if this is the final book in the series, it certainly feels as though it could be. While I will be sad to say goodbye to it if that is the case, I do feel like it came to a fantastic conclusion if it is.
The story is absolutely intriguing... so many twists and turns to keep you guessing. While I will say that I suspected fairly early on who the UNSUB was in general (as in not the specific name of the person, but who they were in relation to the other characters), it wasn't until just before the big reveal that I began suspecting the specific person. I had to keep reading to figure it all out!
There were a lot of great faith elements in this story too... with some beautiful messages of forgiveness and God's ability to heal us and protect us. I didn't find it to be in your face or preachy, but weaved beautifully into the story quite naturally as it would have been in these characters' lives.
Overall, this was a fantastic read. If you love Christian suspense, this series is definitely one to check out. I cannot wait to see what Nancy Mehl brings us next!
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. All thoughts are 100% my own.
The conclusion of the Kaely Quinn Profiler series will have readers sitting on edge as Kaely finally faces her serial killer father in prison. When bodies are found in a mass grave, questions emerge about how the copycat killer knows details that were never released. Kaely and Noah, both will have to confront their past as they move to solve the crimes and face their future. Readers who love criminal fiction will enjoy the twists and turns. For a complete understanding of Kaely and Noah, readers will need to read to trilogy in order.
This is the third book in this series, and yes, I have read them all, not that I would want to, but, I do think you could read this one alone, the author does a wonderful job of bringing you up to date.
With this book, Kaely's father has now been in jail over 20 years, and now there are new murders with the same MO, how can that be?
There are so many twists and turns here, and no I did not see them coming, you will think you have your mind made up, when the rug is quickly pulled out from under you.
This is the end of the series, and yes, I would love to continue here, and the answers are forthcoming, will they be as you hope? There is a bit of sweet romance, and a lot of forgiveness, both to others and oneself, and throughout the book there is a love of God..
I will miss these characters, but am looking forward to the next read from this author, she never disappoints!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.
Dead End is book number three in the Kaely Quinn series. This was my first experience with Nancy Mehl and this series. I was impressed with the main heroine and her struggles being a FBI Special Agent with a serial killer father. Her relationship with Noah Hunter is evolving and changing as they face Kaely's father in hopes of catching a copycat killer.
Although not entirely predictable, I figured out who the copycat was and why. The story line was familiar and I able to piece it together. I still truly enjoyed the mystery and the characters.
I can't wait to continue reading Nancy Mehl.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bethany House Publishers for providing me with an ARC.
Mehl's novel has a definite emphasis on character growth. There is really no suspense until near the end. Much of the book deals with Kaely's inner battles about her killer father, such as guilt. She also battles a feeling she will die young, something from childhood combined with a threat from an evil man she confronted in her FBI work. She also struggles with her faith, wondering if it is enough to get her through the hard experiences she anticipates coming.
There are several other psychological themes explored. What makes a serial killer, a psychopath? How do childhood experiences play a part? What part does the devil have in it? How does one handle anger toward God because of personal tragedy?
This is an interesting book for readers who like to get in the minds of main characters since suspense appears only near the end. There are good explorations of many themes involving evil behavior, its causes and cures and healing from its effects. While the edition I read contained no discussion questions, I think this book contains much to think about and discuss.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Dead End is the last book in the Kaely Quinn Profiler trilogy, which is super sad: I have SO enjoyed reading this series and following Kaely and Noah as they grow and develop their relationship with God and each other.
This book covers the biggest mystery of all: a killer who is mirroring the style of Ed Oliphant, Kaely’s serial killer father. Kaely has to face her own history as she helps the FBI find the person committing these crimes and prevent more people from dying.
This book was fast paced and action packed: there was SO MUCH that happened! Between the action, there was also a lot of spiritual content and introspection that occurred on Kaely’s, but also Noah’s part. I thought that was a really nice touch!
Again, the mystery/suspense was super well written, like the first two books, which I really appreciate! The only thing that felt a little bit sudden was the romance: it had been a SLOW romance all the way through the trilogy, so it made sense, but it still felt a little rushed overall, if that makes sense.
Overall, this is one of my favorite suspense trilogies! It ranks up there with the If I Run trilogy by Terri Blackstock, which it is reminiscent of. It’s a tossup whether I like this one or the first book more, but all of them are really good and I lovED this trilogy and am very sad to see it go!
I was so excited to finally read the conclusion of the Kaely Quinn Profiler series! This book picks up not long after book two. There is a copycat killer and Kaely may be the only one who can stop him. Forcing Kaely to face her biggest fears was a great tipping point to end the series. Kaely's reactions and emotions felt very realistic throughout and it was easy to relate to her, even if you hadn't been through the trauma she had. I also enjoyed Noah's character, although I feel like his storyline, small as it may be, could have been wrapped up better. His emotions throughout the story as well were spot-on. The ending is climactic and intense, and I wasn't able to put the book down! I did not guess the villain's identity, so the shock factor was high.
I loved finally getting the conclusion to Noah and Kaely's romance. I think everyone has been waiting for it since book one! But I appreciated how the author didn't move too quickly on that subject; it was much more realistic to be slower and more drawn out throughout the series.
I mentioned in my review of the second book the issues I had with the lack of conclusion regarding the spiritual issues, so I was intrigued to see where this one would end. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite what I was wanting. I appreciated that the subject of spiritual warfare was recognized, and in some way it was wrapped up. I just wish there had been a little more finality to it and a little more emphasis put on it.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed this conclusion to the series, and look forward to reading more by this author! I highly recommend this to lovers of suspense\mysteries, especially with slow romances and spiritual themes.
FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
A couple out treasure-hunting with a metal detector finds a gorgeous diamond ring—only it's attached to a corpse buried in a shallow grave. As the police comb the crime scene, they uncover more bodies—some of them over two decades old. When they notice that each body has a red ribbon binding the hands and feet, they believe they’ve stumbled upon more of Ed Oliphant’s victims. Only the convicted serial killer has spent the last 20 years in prison.
FBI Special Agent in Charge of the St. Louis office asks Kaely Quinn to interview the man she’s tried to forget she wants to say no. Her journey to forget her father—Ed Oliphant—has taken years. But the FBI thinks he has made contact with a protegee on the outside. Unless someone can get him to talk, more young women might die.
Special Agent Noah Hunter doesn’t want Kaely to talk to her father—it seems too risky and dangerous. He can’t decide if he admires her for her willingness to do whatever it takes to stop evil, or if her risk-taking will kill his feelings for her. As special agents, they make a wonderful team, and he struggles to understand what part he wants to play in her life.
You’ll Love This Book If…
If you love suspense, you’ll love this book. Mehl keeps readers on their toes, trying to guess who’s wreaking havoc with the case. Kaely, a trained behavioral analyst, uses an unusual profiling method—one the skates around the edges of normal. During the last case she and Noah worked on, she received a distinct message that she would die soon.
Mehl does a masterful job of showing how flawed and hurting people can find mercy, grace, and healing when they trust in God. Her well-developed characters struggle with the same questions that readers have.
Wow! The Kealy Quinn trilogy wraps up with a bang. This was filled with suspense and intrigue.
I have really enjoyed this series. Kaely is such a unique character and I am sad to see it end.
Highly recommend this series to anyone.
“Norman Webber offered his wife a tight smile as he dealt with yet another one of her awful presents.”- Opening line of “Dead End” by Nancy Mehl
Dead End, by Nancy Mehl, is the third in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series and it answers many of the questions raised in the first two books. Once again, we join Kaely and Noah in their fight to identify and catch a serial killer. This time, though, it is directly linked to Kaely’s murderous father and happening in her former hometown. This psychological thriller is fascinating and enjoyable!
Kaely struggles throughout to deal with her past trauma as she comes face to face with her father for the first time since his arrest. Noah can see the strain she is under but feels helpless to ease her distress. The killer is smart and well-informed challenging them to get ahead of him. Nancy keeps the reader guessing, right to the end, which I love in a mystery novel. The conclusion is satisfying!
Noah and Kaely cling to their faith as they work through the complex situation they find themselves in. Each wrestles with tough topics such forgiveness, the will of God, and evil in the world. These discussions are well-written and thought-provoking.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it’s a five out of five on the enJOYment scale and highly recommended.
I hadn't read Nancy Mehl before this. I've found a new author to enjoy. Kaely Quinn is an FBI agent with a unique past. Her father is a serial killer. When a body is discovered in a field in Iowa, the case is directly linked to her father. Kaely is asked to come and talk to her father and get the answers the authorities need to apprehend the killer. In this novel, Kaely struggles with trust in her relationships, dealing with her emotional pain from her childhood, and staying strong in her beliefs while confronting evil. This was a great read. Someone who likes Lynette Eason, will enjoy this writer as well. #netgalley #deadend
What an incredible roller coaster ride! Dead End gives readers so many thrilling plot twists as Kaely Quinn finds herself in the worst possible predicament: facing her serial killer father in an attempt to locate a copy cat killer. Of course, Kaely is one of the most complex characters ever written. She deals with her emotions in the most unusual ways, but this case sends all of her senses spiraling out of control.
While the plot is complex, the characters are even more intricate. Kaely is complicated and at times dark, yet struggles with the fact that she’s human just like everyone else. She never dealt with her past and can’t justify her father’s horrific actions with the fact that he’s still her father. And Noah has waited for Kaely for three books now and in Dead End he watches her unravel as she tries to navigate her inner and outer worlds. But how can he help someone who won’t accept any help?
I’m a fan of this entire series. I recommend reading these in order so definitely start with Mind Games (it’s on Kindle Unlimited). But Dead End brings so much drama and tension with some surprising plot twists. I highly recommend this series to any suspense fans – the plot twists and unique characters make this one of my all time favorites!
Overall: 5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)
Suspense: 5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)
I received an ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Dead End by Nancy Mehl is book three in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series. It is a powerful read. I am new to her writing but one consider it one of the best romantic suspense novels and series.
This was a highly anticipated book for me. And Nancy did not disappoint. I hope she will continue this series with Kaely and Noah. Kaely’s skills are so amazing that feel we could have so many more books with her and Noah is such an amazing balance to her both personally and professionally.
In case you’re new to the series and if you are then you’re in for a treat because you can read all three right now and not have to wait like we did. So Kaely is the daughter of a serial killer. In this book it looks like there’s a copycat killer. But the copycat killer knows things that they shouldn’t about some of her father’s murders. We get to learn a little bit more about her dad. The relationship between her and Noah is so well done.
In addition Nancy at brings up several tough issues: Are all sins forgivable?. Can you forgive a serial killer? Do the sins of the parents get put down onto the children? Is his childhood trauma an excuse for adult sin and in this example, serial killing.
I’ve never really looked at the lives of children of serial killers. But it really makes you wonder what all they go through both as the children and then even as adults. I stayed up way too late finishing this book because I literally couldn’t go to sleep without knowing what happened. This is a must read! Highly recommend.
Sexual content - kiss!
Violence - serial killings both from the past and present, but no details
Language - none
Drinking - Noah has a few drinks
I had not noticed that this was the 3rd book of a trilogy until after finishing. it can easily be read as a stand-alone.
How do you live and how do you trust God and men when your father is a convicted serial killer?
This is a suspenseful novel with deep insight into the main characters soul.
Oh my gosh, this book was intense right from the start! Kaely is pulled into a copycat killer who is following in her father's footsteps. Problem is? Her father is in prison. She and Noah head to the penitentiary where The Raggedy Man is to see if he'll give up any information.
The entire process is consuming for the reader and the characters alike! Who the heck is doing this? How do they know details they shouldn't? Seriously, everyone they come across seems to be a potential suspect. lol I was biting my nails as they tried to figure out who was behind the murders and then waiting to see if they'd figure it out before the next one!
I actually (for a change) figured a piece of the puzzle out during the book, but still had to mull over everything else! This was one of those books where I almost swiped to the end because the tension was so high!
Definitely a book you won't want to put down and I read it in one day!
This is the 3rd and final installment in the Kaely Quinn profiler series by Nancy Mehl. While the story line in this one can stand alone, having the background of the prior 2 books helps. Kaely is an FBI profiler and the daughter of an infamous serial killer. When some bodies are found in her old hometown that copy the MO of her father's kills, she's called on to face her own personal demons and come face to face with the person who fractured her life 20 years ago.
As a fan of suspense, this series fully drew me in. I enjoyed the unique perspective and quirks of Kaely and her profiling technique. The story lines of all 3 books and this one in particular were quite enticing. My one complaint is that the emotions seem stilted at times and out of proportion, and there's a lot of repitition in how feelings are stated in the book. I've struggled with this for all 3 books, though I don't remember it being quite as pronounced in the first book. I also struggled with Kaely's statement that she would deal with her feelings later, that she needed to press on with the case. Because she is a behavioral analyst and well versed in human psychology, she should know better than the average person how much that doesn't work. Her Christian witness was also frustrataing at times. The ending was still satisfying though, and the overall storyline mostly made up for these deficiencies in my mind. While the first book had pretty much zero romance and there was only a hit of it in the second book, this one had all the angst of a romantic suspense novel. I would recommend this book and series for fans of Christian romantic suspense.
Special thanks to NetGalley for an e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to write a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.
What a fantastic way to bring this series together. I hope there will be more in this series but if not I loved this ending. I laughed and cried all the way through this book. I loved the romance and all of the suspense. I loved the twists and turns. I really loved learning all the secrets of the characters. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
I really enjoyed "Dead End" by Nancy Mehl. This is the 3rd book in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series. I really love this series. I believe this is my favorite books by Nancy Mehl. I really didn't know how this book was going to end, and I was very surprised at the end. It had a twist that I never saw coming!
This book continues with Kaely and her partner, Noah. Kaely and Noah are trying to find out who the "copycat killer" is. This killer is a copycat to Kaely's own father, who is in prison. Kaely is asked to confront her father and see what she can find out. This creates a lot of stress and tension in Kaely's life. There is lots of suspense and a little bit of romance in this novel.
I highly recommend this novel to all fans of good, clean, suspense with a little romance fiction.
I received this novel from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.
Thank you to Bethany House for the free review copy. All opinions are my own.
This book was a great addition to this series. I really enjoyed how Kaely had to face her father in this book. While being a serial killer's daughter is not easy, Kaely must realize in this book how this predicament has affected her. I liked how the author explored this in the book. Kaely didn't always realize what she needed, and there were some wise characters surrounding her.
I also really liked how faith was explored in this book, especially when it came to Ed's character. It definitely left me with some deep thinking about redemption of serial killers. Kaely's faith journey also was a large part of this book. Evil and fighting it was a big part of the plot that I'm glad the author tackled.
I've really enjoyed the Kaely Quinn series. In Dead End, author Nancy Mehl neatly brought Kaely full-circle to face her fears. Kaely was quite vulnerable in this story; it made her seem so normal and human (rather than the superwoman she is in book one).
This book carries such a strong message of hope and forgiveness. It's also heavy on the faith aspect, which worked so well in this end to a twisty tale.
I've really enjoyed this series. I'm still hoping there will be more. Kaely Quinn is a fascinating character. If you are a fan of Criminal Minds you will definitely want to check this series out. No spoilers here but I was very happy with the ending!
When a body is discovered in a field in Iowa, the police uncover fourteen additional corpses ranging from 20 years old to recent. The remains point to a serial killer with an MO the authorities have seen before--Ed Oliphant, a man who has been in prison for over 20 years . . . and is Special Agent Kaely Quinn's father. After several failed interview attempts to discover if Ed has been training someone to be a copycat killer, the police turn to Kaely in St. Louis.
Kaely promised herself she would never step foot in her hometown or set eyes on her father again. She's always refused to confront her past, but if she wants to prevent any more deaths, she must come face-to-face with the man she's hated for years.
As more bodies are discovered, Kaely races against time and her own personal turmoil to uncover the killer. Will this most personal case yet cost Kaely her identity and perhaps even her life?
A great conclusion to this series. Kaley is still fighting her demons. And yes the author does show us that they are demons she is fighting. In this book Kaley has to face her father. The serial killer who killed over 20 women. Can she do it and retain her sanity. She still carries hate for her father for what he did to her and her family. Noah is Kaely's partner in the FBI. Against his better judgement, he has fallen in love her. Noah is mad at God for allowing his wife to die. There are twists and turns that made me keep reading.
This is the third book in the Kaely Quinn Profiler Series. I recommend that you read the first two books in the series before reading this one.
I was given this book by Bethany House Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
I love a good mystery, and ever since I discovered this author, I look forward to new books from her. Nancy Mehl is a great writer. Her books are always exciting, mysterious and "edge of your seat!" What I love about her books is that they are clean. No foul language, just a really great story!
This book is the 3rd in the "Kaely Quinn Profiler" series. I definitely recommend them!
Norman Webber had just received s new, and unwanted, birthday gift - a metal detector. He was surprised when, on his first day out, he discovered a large diamond ring. His wife was extremely happy with the discovery until he pointed out that it was attached to the finger of a dead woman.
Thus begins Dead End. The book is a faith-based, emotional, and romantic, thriller starring protagonists FBI Special Agent Kaely Quinn and FBI Special Agent Noah Hunter, first introduced in Nancy Mehl’s Mind Games and Fire Storm. Both Quinn and Hunter are based out of the St. Louis, MO, FBI Field Office, and were surprised to receive a call for help from Des Moines, IA, normally served by the Omaha, NE, FBI Field Office. First thinking it was a mistake, before finding there were very valid reasons for their involvement, they would be assigned to assist for a month in the case under the jurisdiction of the Des Moines, IA, Police Department.
The book held the reader’s attention as it wrapped together elements of an old case whose perpetrator is serving a life sentence in prison and a new case begun with the discovery of the diamond ring by Norman Webber. The reader will watch Quinn and Hunter as they seek to discover the new UNSUB and listen to the UNSUB’s twisted mind as he seeks to lead them astray. The climax is a mixed blessing as it ties together some threads seen in all three novels, but it also leaves some plot holes that the reader hopes might be answered in a fourth book. Alas, there is no hint that a fourth book is in the works.
The book deserves a place in the church library as well in the public library. Readers enjoying books from this genre will have a difficult time putting the book down.

Dead End is a great conclusion to the Kaely Quinn Profiler suspense series. Once again Kaely finds herself involved in a case with Noah Hunter. These 2 FBI agents are beginning to have feelings for one another, but they are both gun shy because of their pasts. The current case definitely hits too close to home for Kaely as it is a copycat serial killer who is copying her father who is currently in prison.
I really enjoyed the psychology of this book as Kaely dug deep to try and read her father to see if he had any connection to this copycat killer. She was also having to come to grips with both her imaginary friend as well as with her profiler imagining of the UNSUB. I loved how Noah tried to keep her grounded and also his care and concern for her. Through his support, Kaely was finally able to deal with her past, find forgiveness for her father, and learn to lean on her faith. In turn, Kaely was able to lead Noah back to his faith and to realize that God had nothing to do with his wife's death.
Lovely ending to another great thriller series.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
“In the dark of night, I’ll be there. I love you so, and I’ll never let you go. In the dark of night, I’ll be there . . .”
I thoroughly enjoyed Nancy Mehl’s third book in the Kaely Quinn series. I read this while binge watching the TV show “Prodigal Son” and it makes me wonder if the show writers were reading this series for ideas! I was a fan of the first book, not so much on the second book, and a fan again with Book 3. Definitely recommended if you have read the first two.
I loved the plot of this one. There is a copycat serial killer on the loose who is copying the action of Kaely’s father, an imprisoned serial killer. It’s up to Kaely and agent Noah Hunter to talk to her father and hunt down this serial killer. What a wild ride! Although I guessed this one again plus the extra reveal, it was still very enjoyable. One complaint is another Christian book talking about the sinner’s prayer and no mention of baptism.
* I received this book free from Netgalley and publisher Bethany House in exchange for an honest review.
Dead End by Nancy Mehl continues her suspenseful series, Kaely Quinn Profiler, focusing on Kaely Quinn, a genius crime fighting special agent who desires justice above all else. Kaely Quinn has an intense focus on her work, not allowing anything to distract her, but a gruesome discovery leaves her shaken and confused. A murder victim's body is discovered in a field in Iowa, but then when investigating further the police unearth many more bodies with ties to a serial killer now in prison. The clues from the victims lead to a serial killer Kaely Quinn wants nothing to do with, her father, Ed Oliphant, the raggedy man serial killer. Even though he has been in prison more than two decades, can he be the one directing these horrible crimes? Kaely is called to assist in the investigation of her father, but can she confront this man and her past? Can she survive the trauma of confronting her past after she had left it all behind her? Will they be able to find the person copying her father's killings?
I thoroughly enjoyed Dead End and the chilling suspense that Ms. Mehl brings to her readers in her writings. I think that one clever way that Ms. Mehl grips her readers is with an occasional chapter that focuses on the killer's perspective without revealing his or her identity. This adds to the mystery, chills, and psychological intensity of the book. I absolutely love mysteries and suspense, and this book is an excellent example of both. The unexpected turn of events throughout the book kept me turning each page and flying through the book. I also appreciated the way that Ms. Mehl brought in a sweet and honest romance into the plot without making it too dramatic or unrealistic. The faith and love displayed by the main characters was refreshing and genuine. The way that Ms. Mehl portrays her heroine is realistic and shows her doubts, her faults, her brokenness, as well as her strengths. I appreciated the way that Kaely's faith and her struggles with difficult situations in her life are honestly shown. Dead End by Nancy Mehl
Great conclusion to the Kaely Quinn series. I’m sad to see it end. Kaely is forced to face her own feelings and fears. The book is also about love and forgiveness. The suspense pulled me through to the end. The romance between Kaely and Noah was brought through equally well. Thoroughly enjoyed this series and will be looking forward to reading other books by this author.
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
This book carries on the story of Kaely Quinn, an FBI profiler whose father was in prison for being a serial killer. Suddenly a copycat appears and Kaely is pressed to visit her father and see if she can get him to reveal who he may have been meeting with and mentoring. There is a romance budding with her FBI agent partner which keeps her Kaely’s life interesting. This is one of those mysteries that keeps you guessing until the very end. I love Nancy Mehl’s stories and this is one of the best.
I recommend this book to mystery-loving friends.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
As a fan of Nancy Mehl’s character, FBI behavioral analyst Kaely Quinn, I could hardly wait for the next installment in the series, Dead End. I was not disappointed. As the daughter of a convicted and imprisoned serial killer, Quinn vowed to do her part to stop evil, and as an FBI special agent, she works hard at it.
Dead End finds Quinn facing off with a copycat killer who seems to be taunting her. When she’s asked to do the one thing she vowed never to do—interview her father face to face to try to get a break in the case—Kaely fights for sanity. Has she really dealt with the pain of betrayal? Is she strong enough to go through with the interview? Her unusual psychological methods of “interviewing her invisible UNSUBs” led to a warning on her last case. Her partner, special agent Noah Hunter, fears for her sanity and discourages her from using the technique to find the serial killer before it’s too late.
Mehl weaves a fantastic story line with nail-biting suspense that makes the book hard to put down, and her characters are incredibly realistic and dynamic.
I appreciate how Mehl has created a character that readers can empathize with—wanting to leave their past behind and embrace a new future, and yet struggling to overcome the trauma and hurt of the past. I like how Kaely Quinn is both strong and vulnerable, and I like that she clings to her faith when nothing else seems to work.
I truly hope that Mehl plans more in the series. I can’t wait for the next installment!
Note: I received a copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for this honest review. However, the opinions expressed are my own.
Kaely Quinn is one of the most fascinating heroines. She is a profiler and the child of an infamous serial killer. She has an unconventional way of figuring things out. She is becoming mentally unstable and her partner, Noah, doesn’t always know what to do about his feelings for her and her methods.
She gets drawn into a case when a mass grave is found in her hometown. The situation makes it seem like someone is trying to copy her father’s patterns and he may be the only one who can help them identify this killer.
There’s great suspense. Mehl does a good job of making you question a lot of different people before you get to the surprising finish. It’s a hard book to put down. I’d highly recommend it.
Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Kaely Quinn Profiler series:
Book 1: Mind Games
Book 2: Fire Storm
Book 3: Dead End
Wow! I just finished reading this book. It was a real dilemma because I wanted to know what happened, but I didn't want the book to be done. This book was full of suspense with a dash of romance. Several plot twists kept the story moving. I love the depth of character development. All in all, this is the culmination of a fantastic series. So grab a pitcher of iced tea and settle in for a fantastic read.
I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley.com with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.
This is the final book in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series - and it just may be my favorite of the three!
When a new killer appears to be mimicking Kaely's father, the infamous Raggedy Man serial killer, she is called in to help. Although Kaely has never been able to fully resolve her feelings towards her dad, she agrees to meet with him and try to find out who his "protégé" is.
Kaely's faithful and loyal partner Noah is deeply concerned for her mental health and overall well being. He is not convinced she is processing everything accurately and also thinks she continues to take unnecessary risks. He is not sure he can handle another loss, and begins to question his stance on life and faith that he has been ignoring.
This final book asks and answers a number of important questions: Is it someone on the inside? What is their motivation? How did they discover Ed's MO when certain things were never released to the public? Can forgiveness be found even for the most horrendous crimes?
The final mystery is solved with some great twists and turns; although I had some minor suspicions, I did not feel the solution or the antagonist's motivations were obvious. This was an excellent ending to a great series!

Mehl takes you once again on a suspenseful ride that will keep you guessing until the very end of the book.

I am reviewing a copy of Dead End through Bethany House Publishers and Netgalley:
After a body is discovered in a field in Iowa, fourteen more bodies are found, the bodies date from twenty years prior to recent. These remains point to a M.O they have seen before. Ed Oliphant who has been in prison for over twenty years and is the Father of Special Agent Kaely Quinn's Father. They try to interview Ed to see if he has trained a copy cat killer, but when that fails they must turn to his daughter Special Agent Kaely Quinn for help solving the case.
Kaely made a promise to herself that she would never set foot in her hometown again nor did she want to set eyes on her Father again. But in order to solve the case and save more lives she will have to face her past.
When more bodies are discovered Kaely finds herself in a race against time as well as her own personal turmoil.
Will this very personal case cost Kaely her identity and perhaps even her life?
If you are a fan of clean suspense and mystery I highly recommend Nancy Mehl's intriguing novel Dead End.
I give Dead End five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!
Dead End was written by Nancy Mehl, and is book three in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series.
Summary: Kaely is still trying to deal with the emotional trauma of all that happened in Nebraska, while attempting to move on with her life.
But moving on isn’t in the cards. Someone is murdering innocent women, and in the same style as her father did decades ago.
Determined to find answers, she agrees to meet with her father-something she swore she would never do. But, unable to live with the guilt of more death she might have been able to stop, she agrees to the difficult meeting.
What she finds though, might just be more than she can handle, and this time-she might just break for good.
My Thoughts: I liked this book. In fact, I thought it was better than the last one because it wasn’t as dark. There was definitely a good mystery that unravels throughout the book, and the reader will get a close-up look at more of Kaely and her family’s past, and how it has lead up to present-day.
It is not necessary to have read the previous books to enjoy this one-in fact, I haven’t even read the first one, and I was able to follow along just fine.
This book has plenty of mystery and intrigue, and really helps to bring Kaely’s family saga to a fitting end.
I mean, I sure wouldn’t mind if there were more books in this series, but I felt like there was some closure with Kaely, and I liked it.
Anyway, this is a good read, and I recommend it!
As always, I would like to thank Bethany House for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!
Dead End was BY FAR the best book in the series. I’m so glad we had the opportunity to end with this story!
I’ll be honest, this series is a little different for the genre, and I had a hard time coming to like Kaely Quinn in the first novel. I enjoyed the story enough that I had to continue. Mehl really won me over in the second book, but the third was terrific. If you’re unsure, hang in there. This ride is worth it.
A copycat killer is on the loose.
Kaely’s father is the original serial killer, and a new addition to his signature points back to her. Is she in danger or is someone trying to send her a message? Is her father behind this, or is a rogue UNSUB trying to garner FBI attention? This installment of the series will keep you guessing until the very end. It has a wealth of interesting characters, as well as plenty of twists and turns. Just when you think you’re on to the bad guy, Mehl will throw a wrench in your theory!
I found myself really rooting for Kaely and Noah, but I wasn’t sure they were going to get the happy ending I was hoping for. No spoilers here. You'll have to read it to find out! The character development in this book is really profound. We see some unique things done well in both characters. Also, Mehl handles the spiritual component of forgiveness with such realness and eloquence. She wrestled with some hard things, and I commend her for displaying faith in a way that never came across as pushy or unrealistic. It was raw, and I liked it.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this book. While I don’t endorse this method, it could even be read as a stand-alone. Also, can we discuss the physical cover of this book? The texture is to die for. I don’t have any other books like it!
The perfect ending to this series a great book, I can’t say enough. I loved all aspects of it and it had me guessing to the end who the bad dude was. I rate it a 5 star.
Dead End, by Nancy Mehl, is book 3 in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series. This is an action packed, suspenseful, whodoneit story that is very hard to put down. The story starts with a man receiving yet another weird gift from his wife, this time a metal detector. While using his gift, he finds a dead body. The criminal investigation finds many more bodies. It appears there is a Copycat murderer that is using the same MO as Kaely Quinn's father, Ed. Ed has been in prison for twenty years and keeps to himself. Some of the MO has never been released to the public.
Kaely is called in to return to her hometown and try to find out if her father is working with someone to kill more women. She had vowed to never return and has spend he life trying to forget her father.
I have really enjoyed this series. It is written so well, it is hard to put down. The characters have developed during this series and we have been updated about her family. In this book we see how Kaely was affect by what her father did. We also see how the working relationship between her and Noah has changed. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes crime stories.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
“Special Agent Quinn, we truly believe you may be the only person in the world who can stop these murders.”
Wow, this third installment of Kaely Quinn Profiler is a killer read and may take all of Kaely before it’s through. A father imprisoned as a serial killer, a daughter who wants to right all his wrongs, a new serial killer on the prowl. Kaely Quinn is in the race of her life. Her partner, Noah is worried she’s losing her mind and is doing everything in his power to keep her safe. There are so many twists to the story that the end was a mind game with a thrilling conclusion.
“Thank you, God, that you have not given Kaely a spirit of fear . . .” He halted a moment, obviously trying to remember the rest. “But of power and of love and of a sound mind,”
This is one of my favorite verses and was a key component of this series. Overcoming fear in the midst of life is difficult for most of us, but even harder to overcome in Noah and Kaely’s line of work. They both have pasts that make trusting God fully more difficult. Mehl did an amazing job shining light in the midst of evil and how trusting that still small voice can lead to a deeper walk.
“We’re in a battle, Noah,” she’d said. “Good versus evil. Denying evil exists won’t make it go away.” There is a deeper layer to this message that was so well written and is a good reminder.
As they both work together to find out who is the copycat of her serial killer father, they are in a race to stop the next murder. Kaely’s struggles with seeing her father again were very tough and really gave insight into the struggles of forgiveness. Noah works on building their communication and learning to let go of his fears. I loved how much they shored each other up. The connection between them deepens as they learn to trust one another and God more. Kaely’s influence on others, even while overcoming her past make her a great witness to God’s testimony in her life. I found this entire series riveting and the conclusion was beautifully written.
I recommend reading this series in order. Though “Mind Games” (book one) could be read as a standalone, Firestorm really builds on her past and brings family into the picture. There were spiritual issues in Book Two that had me questioning where Mehl was going with Kaely’s character, but the third book really shined with God’s truth. Dead End really tied the whole series together and brought many answers to questions from the other books. Inspiring, thrilling, and edge of your seat suspense, I highly recommend this series.
I received a copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions given are my own and given honestly.
This was a fantastic edge-of-your-seat conclusion to Kaely's story. The author did a great job at portraying characters who are real and who struggle with issues that are relatable to many of us.
If you love a good clean mystery that also has a message of love, forgiveness and healing, you will want to read this book.
Book 3 in the Kaely Quinn mystery suspense series definitely brought the suspense! I listened to it as I walked and found myself looking over my shoulder to make sure no one was following me!
FBI profiler (behavior analyst) Kaely Quinn works out of St. Louis, so when she gets a call from Omaha's branch of the FBI, she is stumped. When she hears what they want from her, her immediate reaction is No Way. A serial killer is targeting women near her hometown, and the MO matches the one her father, Ed Oliphant used as the "Raggedy Man", right down to the one detail that was never shared with the press. There's no way the killer isn't getting tips from Ed, but how? His only visitor has been her brother, and he doesn't associate with other inmates or anyone else at the prison. The FBI is sure that Kaely, as an experienced special agent, and Oliphant's daughter, would be able to get to the truth.
She hasn't seen her father since his imprisonment. He tore her family apart, and left them at the mercy of the media circus surrounding him. Her friend and partner, Noah, fears for her sanity if she takes this assignment, but Kaely fears more deaths if she doesn't. Can a daughter get through to a psychopath in time to save others? When the copy-cat changes things, leaving a Bible verse that indicates a threat to Kaely's life, can she and Noah puzzle out the clues before she becomes the next victim?
This story had so many twists and so many suspects that I almost feared turning the audio back on. Kaely, from the start of the series, has come across as a bit reckless, going out on her own, not asking for backup, etc. So much so, that she scared me. Her method of profiling was kind of creepy, too, but her ability to close cases was unmatched. Nancy Mehl kept the suspense levels at some of the highest levels I've read lately.
Readers of suspense with a shot of romance will definitely love this whole series. While this book could be read as a stand-alone, my recommendation would be to read all 3, in order. Kaely is a complex character and it takes all three books to understand her foibles. I absolutely recommend this, and pretty much anything written by Mehl. I think I've read all of them and there hasn't been a bad one in the bunch!
An intriguing plot-twister of a book. So many layers that I kept coming back to the book. The romance was also stronger in this one.
Dead End is the third book in Nancy Mehl’s Kaely Quinn Profiler series. Kaely works in law enforcement, profiling and catching serial killers. She’s also the daughter of a serial killer, something that has shaped her life and career (for better and worse). And he’s back. At least, there is another serial killer on the loose, and he’s using her father’s signatures.
The suspense aspect of the plot was excellent. It’s obvious that Kaely’s father isn’t the killer: he’s safe in jail. So who is it? It must be someone who knows her father well, but who? I had my suspicions, and they were wrong. That made it a nailbiting read that was hard to put down.
Kaely isn’t always an easy character to relate to. She has her strengths: she’s intelligent, dedicated, and good at her job. But those are also her weaknesses: she can’t detach from her job, and she sometimes puts her own physical and mental health at risk to break the case. She comes across as mostly normal, but that hides a lot of inner insecurities and awkwardness.
Some of that awkwardness comes through in her faith. She’s been forced to seek answers to some of the hard questions about Christianity: can God save even the vilest sinner? Does anyone ever get so far from God that they can’t be saved? Does she have to forgive her father for his sins? Yes, there were strong faith aspects, and they were a strength of the story.
The writing was generally strong, although there were a couple of annoying instances when the point of view character discovered something but the reader didn’t know what. I guess that was supposed to add suspense. It kept me reading, but it did irritate me. My view is that if we’re in the viewpoint character’s head, we should be part of the conversation and not have the salient points blurred out for us to discover later.
But that’s a minor point in an otherwise excellent romantic suspense novel. It is the third book in the series, but can easily be read as a standalone—while there are a few references to earlier events, they are minor (and won’t spoil the earlier books if you accidentally read them out of order).
Thanks to Bethany House Publishers and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
I loved this series. It was by far my favorite series that I have read by Nancy. And I loved watching the story arc of Kaely through these three books. Nancy did a fabulous job of making that happen and in this book Kaely finally comes face to face with her greatest fears and greatest hopes.
Nancy also did a wonderful job of using some supernatural aspects of the Christian faith that many Christians don’t want to talk about, but are very real, but also being careful with how she handles it.
In this book we watch Noah and Kaely decide what direction to take in their relationship and learning to trust God more then their past wounds. A truly beautiful story that I couldn’t put down.
A copy of this book was given to me by Netgalley.com. All opinions are my own.
Kaely Quinn is back in her most heart pounding case yet as Nancy Mehl delivers the third installment in the series!
Kaely Quinn thought she had left her past behind her. After changing her name to get away from her father, a famous serial killer, she joined the FBI to stop predators like him. But when a body is discovered in a field near the town she grew up in and then more bodies are unearthed dating back to the time he killed with his same MO, she is brought in to see if she can get information from her father on who he is working with. Kaely doesn’t know if she is ready to face her father and she hasn’t spoken to him since he was arrested and put in jail. The more Kaely pursues this new killer, the more she feels she is losing her own identity. With each new clue that turns up, Kaely feels more involved in the case and more afraid for her own life. Will she be able to solve the case before anyone else dies? Or is she the killer’s next victim?
If you have read any of this series, you know you are in for a real treat. There is action, suspense, drama, and a sprinkling of romance at just the right moments. I love the relationship Kaely has with Noah and the way her relationship with her father is portrayed. Both those relationships are so very different but so vital in shaping how she approaches life and what she is dealt. I have been waiting since the first book in the series to meet, Ed Oliphant, the notorious Raggedy Man serial killer. Nancy Mehl sure did deliver with these interactions. Even though they were few and we didn’t get to see much of Ed, it was just the right amount along with his interactions with Kaely made for such good story telling.
Throughout this book I felt I was really able to connect with Kaely as a character and understand her more. There was such a good character arc for everyone in this story; the way it played out in the final few chapters were executed so well. Readers will feel it is a very satisfying conclusion to the series, even if we might want more of the story was tied up nicely. It’s one of those fine lines an author must walk of continuing on with the characters or leaving the reader wanting just a little bit more. There easily could have been more but at what cost? Would we have loved the story or tired of the characters? Ending here is the perfect place to leave readers enjoying these characters and the adventures they went on. Even though this can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the series from start to finish to get a feel for the story and characters. Readers that enjoy a good mystery with characters full of flaws and looking for what matters most in life will not want to miss this one.
I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.
This has been a great series but the author did an amazing job with the ending. The author did a great job of keeping me in suspense. The author does give clues to help the reader figure out who the killer is I picked up on one of them, but missed a big one.
Very enjoyable read and can hardly wait to see what Nancy Mehl comes up with next!
Disclaimer: I did receive this copy from the publisher via netgalley.com but I was under no obligation to provide a review. All opinions are my own.
Another winner by Nancy Mehl! I have read all of her books with Kaely Quinn, FBI profiler and have loved them. Kaely has a very distinct past which motivates her to find serial killers and she has very distinct methods in doing so. I loved this book because it develops Kaely, as the main character and the reader feels like they really know her better. I anticipate more novels to come with more action packed, suspense from this author. I would recommend these books to teenagers. They are not too graphic with gore or violence. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my review.
DEAD END by Nancy Mehl is the third (and I think final) book in the Kaely Quinn series. The stories do stand alone, but fans will want to read them in order.
DEAD END has a serious creepy factor going, but it wasn't overly scary. There is a great faith message included, but some more conservative readers might be offended by one character drinking.
The who-dun-it factor was fantastic. I did have it figured out early on, but only because I read a lot of this genre, and know how it works.
If you like mysteries or suspense you will love DEAD END.
I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.
Dead End by Nancy Mehl is packed full of suspense, tensions, and action. I loved this book! The characters both big and small created the perfect blend in every category needed to create this romantic suspense novel. I needed to know more about the characters and their situations as I flipped through the pages. A dark cloud hung onto each scene. That left me wondering when the danger planned for the protagonists was going to happen. Excitement, wonder, and a dread filled me as I followed Kaely and her FBI partner.
Kaely is a young woman whose life was destroyed by her serial killer father. He was a psychopath. Loved his family like a possession but killed others without mercy. Kaely has a lot of issues to work through but she is tough and clever. She has to be brave to face her past and now future.
Bodie began to be found. Some could be her daddy’s but others prove that there is a copycat killer loose. Kaely is sent in Tom discus it with her father. A father who is looked up tight and is a killer himself. However, someone unknown is pulling strings and even Kaely’s father isn’t safe…
Overall, Dead End was well-written. I couldn’t stop reading. Nancy Mehl has once again proven she is the master of suspense and emotional rollercoaster rides.
Dead End by Nancy Mehl is book 3 in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series. Each of the books in this series has been amazing. This book is a mesmerizing conclusion to the series. The only problem— I want more books! Ms Mehl has created such deep, fascinating characters with very real flaws and idiosyncrasies. This book places them all at their breaking point when Kaely has to face her serial killer father. So much suspense and unexpected twists. Readers of suspense will not be disappointed. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
No! That's my reaction. I don't want this series to end. I have loved it too much. There is just too much more that I want to know about Kaely Quinn and her life. I'm sure there are lots more cases she needs to solve too.
This book read hard and fast. I could not read it fast enough. I knew that I was going to just blow through this book and because of that I didn't start reading it until the kids went to bed and then I sat down knowing I'd go through the whole thing.
Seeing Kaely meet her father again after all these years was something else. She definitely changes to a different person around him. And her profiling is getting out of hand. She can't let the devil win. Because she has to conclude that yes the devil is real and a dark presence is trying to invade her life.
But who is actually mimicking her father's killings? Can Kaely beat the clock and find it out or will she and her brother lose their lives first?

Dead End is the third and final book in Nancy Mehl‘s Kaely Quinn Profiler series. Over the past two books, we’ve watched Kaely go toe-to-toe with various serial killers. But in Dead End she’s forced to face the most personal one of all: her father.
Special Agent Noah Hunter has been paired with Kaely throughout the whole series, but he’s grown to care for her. A dangerous situation for his heart since she has a tendency to run toward personal harm without thinking things through. So when she’s given a task that could unravel her completely, he refuses to leave her side.
As I’ve said in my reviews of the first two books, Nancy Mehl is amazing at creating real characters. So real that it’s a little scary to be so close to understanding the mind of someone so troubled. If thrillers are your favorites, you have to read this series! I tend toward books that are not quite so intense, but I’m glad I read this series. It was fantastic writing, story telling, and character creation.
If you do choose to read Dead End, you absolutely should read the other two books first. Watching Kaely’s arc makes this book so satisfying. Plus it gives better backstory to understand Noah’s actions. Neither are the same from the first pages of Mind Games through Fire Storm to the end of Dead End.
I enjoyed these stories and I hope you will, too!

I have loved this series, and think that it’s one of the best from Nancy Mehl. We learn a little bit more about Kaely’s background, and how she now must confront her past, especially as it relates to her father, in order to help find a killer. Kaely and Noah make a wonderful team, and their partnership is one of the best things about this book. It’s great reading this level of suspense written with a Christian perspective. There’s a strong theme of love and forgiveness. This story is suspenseful and intriguing. You can read this book on its own, but if you enjoy this one, be sure and go back and read the other books in the series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Any book by Nancy Mehl is a real treat for me. Her storylines leave you wanting more and her characters are very well developed. I would highly recommend this book.
This was an EPIC conclusion to the trilogy. I am baffled by the way Nancy writes -- such a fantastic writer. I honestly have no words for joy I had in reading this trilogy. From beginning to end I was hooked. The character development, the plots, the twists, the romance -- everything was superb.
Book three we see Kaely confront her father after a copycat killer comes about. She's on the verge of breaking down, but she pulls on her faith like never before in this book. Her growth from book one to three was absolutely outstanding. Kaely faced her trials and tribulations with the strength of God. I adored her.
Noah also had some great developments with his personal growth and his faith. I loved seeing him face his own trauma and move forward with life. His faith journey was so raw and real. Loved seeing him get real with God and himself.
The romance was everything to me!! It was slow, progressive and realistic. I loved seeing them both go through the motions and really allow themselves to be vulnerable with one another.
The killer --- was both a shock and not at the same time. I honestly thought it would be Jason, but finding out I was right on my second guess made me extremely happy. Also with how close I was to the possibility of the killer. Insane! I absolutely L O V E D this!!!
I am officially a fan of Nancy's writing and can't wait to read her newest release, Night Fall, if you are a fan of Criminal Minds I would HIGHLY recommend this trilogy.
