I wanted to read a collection of short stories for quite some time now. I was looking for inspiration and writing example, thinking I will write a short story one day myself.
But for a collection of short stories and flash fiction this particular edition was a very slow going. Very slow. I liked some of the flash fiction pieces (being very short was their advantage). But short stories... I can't pick one I liked.
This collection is very eclectic, with no common theme and no connection between the writers (as far as I know). This lack of connection made this book even more heavy read.

Short and shorter pieces, really enjoyable pieces. LIttle stories, lots of information in a small amount of space.
Some are eerie, some sad, there is a poignant undertone to most of these stories.
A quick read, and one that you can pick up and put down which is nice.
I did really appreciate the variety of the pieces, from really short to much longer.

Flash fiction is always fun to read. In a couple of pages they set up the story and shock you with the ending. If you haven't read any before, this collection is a good sampling for you.

BooksGoSocial and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has already been published so you can get a copy now.

The first story has magic in it and it's a short story. It was also an interesting read. Some stories are fantasy, some are ghost stories and most are short enough you need to pay attention or you'll miss the plot. There is enough variety in the story lines to keep your attention. All the stories were worth reading.

If you like anthologies, give this one a try. The author has a good imagination.

A great little selection of short stories that was easy to dip in and out of between bigger reads. A fantastic read

This is an interesting group of short stories, except for the first one, which, in my opinion, went on way too long. I am not sure why this story was not quick and easy like the rest, but it was not. Of all the stories, it is my least favorite. The other stories, all of which are fairly short and sweet, provide a hybrid mix of a lot of different genres. There is paranormal, historical, romance, etc. I whizzed through them all, eagerly waiting to see what was next—except for the first one, which I ended up skipping most of, as it was not to my taste. I never did really figure out what was going on though I tried to read it. Suffice it to say, it was different and a fantasy type tale, in a land who knows where, with characters with strange powers and names, who were not human. I think the rest of the book is worth the read, but it is too bad the first story goes on so-o-o long. This may well be the genre the author feels most comfortable writing in, as I said, it is not the genre I usually pick to read. The other stories, as I said are short and to the point, and read well. If you are looking for something different and like short stories, this is the book for you. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

This was a great collection of short stories. Some were really far fetched with the plot, but were still enjoyable to read. I have been reading more short stories lately and enjoyed this collection.
