I did like the book for a beginner or college student. The book gives plenty of easy recipes and good tips of what to and what not to do.
Easy read!!

I thought the idea of this book was great! I think being able to cook in college is something that students want to do but don't know how to cook in a college setting. The recipes in this book are good and easy! My only complaint is the lack of photos in the book. I feel like college students will want more images of their food.

This is the perfect first cookbook for young adults both within and outwit college. As well as the expected recipes which are simple to follow and tasty it starts with a lot of key information required such as the key ingredients and techniques. Further, this section also includes a basic list of utensils required which is key as there is nothing worse getting partway through a recipe and being unable to continue as you don't have the required tool. Perfect and simple!

This book contains not only a lot of good information, but bright pictures and delicious recipes. There are specialty recipes for those who are gluten free, paleo, vegetarian, and more. The recipes are easy to follow and with ingredients you can find in most grocery stores. There are even recipes specifically for microwave, InstaPot, slow cookers, air fryers, etc.

What I liked: I especially liked the front section with descriptions of the tools you need to cook with. I’d like to have seen a few pictures here as some raw beginners have no clue what a “whisk” is and a picture might have helped. And the glossary of cooking terms at the end is clear and informative. Overall, nicely done.

Recommendation: I’d definitely pick this up for anyone going off on their own for the first time—whether to college or something else. Some of the recipes looked so inviting, I might even add it to my collection and I’ve been cooking a very long time. 

I received this from Netgalley.

Good cookbook for anyone cooking for one. Overall, looks pretty good. My college student is unexpectedly home for the semester due to Covid-19, so is trying out a few recipes. Lots of appealing breakfast recipes and options for vegetarian and gluten free. The downsides are lots of recipes for air fryer and hot pot and some have unusual or specialized ingredients. But, overall looks good and the couple of breakfast recipes we have tried are good.

"The Everything College Cookbook" offers a lot of easy to cook recipes that I'm definitely going to try. The ingredients are all easy to get and the meals look easy and quick enough to prepare.

For the student who is going to be living off=campus in an apartment, this book has a lot of really good recipes. However, most students live in dorms on campus, especially that first year, and can only have a microwave. The author has very few microwave-based recipes, and relies on InstaPot, an air fryer, and other appliances that most freshmen just aren't going to have. She does do a good job, however, of teaching the very basics...such as how to separate an egg or mince garlic...and walking the student through the very basics of grocery shopping.

I’m not a college student, and if you are one or not, I’d recommend this cook book.
I found that cookbooks for that group always have good, easy and cheap meal ideas! So that’s why I read them.
And this one had many delicious ones! The recipes were easy and clear in their directions. From breakfast to dessert, there’s something for everyone.
