An Amazing Suspense Romance .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy through Netgalley of Fatal Deception .
WOW! This is absolutely heart racing suspense at it's best . This is a one pulse pounding rollercoaster ride . It keeps you reading . I didn't want to put it down . It's full of heart breaking times humorous times and definitely scary times . Let's not forget romance . Roman Steele and his brothers own Steele Ops . They are called into Tru Tech labs where four mask men stole a virus . They weren't seen leaving the building . Steele Op's job is to find and retrieve the virus . Soon things get even harder
When the mask men attempt to capture Dr. Isabel Santiago who is studying the virus and trying to cure it . Roman steps into protect Isabel but things escalate as the virus is unleashed in a test run for something bigger . It will take everything Steele Ops has and Isabel's knowledge to prevent devastation . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Isabel works at a high tech lab that handles virulent viruses, the worst of the worst. The one she is currently working on has no cure. When a highly organized team breaks into the lab they steal the virus. A top notch security team is hired to find out who stole the virus and get it back before it can be used. This is a fast paced romance that will keep you entertained. This is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Loved, loved, LOVED this one! This is the first of the series that I've read, but it absolutely stood alone. I definitely want to go back and read books 1 and 2 though! I really adored Roman and Isa. They are the perfection blend of damaged and love-able. Their relationship started with an instant attraction, but I loved the slow build up. The plot was fascinating. Very timely but unique enough that it felt completely different. A great mix of action. suspense, and romance. I loved the family angle too. The pacing was great, and I loved the last probably 15% or so of the book. Absolutely adored it and can't wait for more!!

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This is the 3rd book in the Steele Ops Series and I really enjoyed reading it. I was excited to get Roman's story, he has always come across angry but their is just something about his character that makes you want to know more about him, Isabel is a scientist working with deadly diseases and trying to find a cure for some of the worst ones out their. While working her lab is broken into and one of the samples are stolen, Steele Ops team is brought in to try and locate it and find the terrorist who have taken it. Roman is drawn to Isabel though it annoys him and she is to him even though he is sarcastic and rude at times. The two of them definitely have fireworks going off from the beginning! Her snarky comebacks are great when he is being very "alpha" and rude while trying to keep her safe from kidnappers. Fatal Deception was a great read and I was really happy to have read it. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

Going into a romantic suspense book, I immediately try to start guessing where the author will take the story and who may be behind anything nefarious. I was so sure I had this pegged and I was wrong! I love when I'm wrong and find a story that isn't predictable.

I enjoyed Roman. He's a grumpy hero and I seem to enjoy that type. Sadly, most of his grumpiness comes from being a wounded war vet. He has come back strong, forming a security firm with his brothers. He still suffers some guilt over what happened when he was deployed, and that guilt got in his way a bit dealing with Isa.

Isa has her own guilt she is living with that also gets in her a way bit. That guilt comes from her just being an all around caring person who takes a lot of responsibility onto her shoulders. They really seem to be the perfect pair for each other.

I loved getting to see the same side characters from the previous book. I'm hoping the author has plans for a book for Jaz. I love her grit.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. I enjoyed the fireworks between Isabel and Roman. This was a fast paced romantic suspence. It kept me on the edge of my seat. This is the first book I have read by April Hunt and it won't be my last.

Fantastic Read! I wish April's book came closer together - that is how much I love her stories. She has a way of weaving in the secondary characters into the main character story where you feel like you are reading about a whole family while still being able to focus on the main characters. We met Roman (Ro) in the first story and knew he would be a tough nut to crack when is came to his love interest. Isa is perfect for him and together they save the world and find true love. If I could give this one more than 5 stars I would just for Ro alone! I can't wait for the next book to come (and feel like there are at least 3 more stories out of this one!).

While I realize this is the third book in a series, I wasn’t lost starting with this one. Isabel and Roman kept me interested and worried about everything swirling around them from start to finish and took me on an adventure that was unpredictable. They had some push and pull because of pasts that they both needed to let go of, but with the help of some insistent friends and the danger of a virus being unleashed nationwide, they managed to find their way. Of course, it took Roman a little help from King’s unique methods for clearing the mind, but he figured out that he definitely had something to live for...and that knowledge helps him fight when he needs to give life his all.

I enjoyed everyone in this story and would definitely be interested in more because this author proved to be anything but boring!

What a great romantic suspense! There were parts that were predictable (i.e. the romance) and parts that were twisty (i.e. the suspense), and that's exactly the way I like it.

Going into this story, I was so excited for Roman's story because he was one of the most interesting brothers in the last two books, and it didn't disappoint. Roman's backstory was heartfelt and emotional, and he had a true, caring heart behind his steel exterior - one that Isa easily broke through. And speaking of Isa, she was a strong, independent, and smart woman that was the perfect match for Roman.

I did find it...humourous?...that the suspenseful element of this story was a disease (considering the current world we're living in and how this book was likely written before all the COVID stuff happened), but I think reading this, which had a happily ever after ending, gave the outside world a tick of optimism.

I'm honestly hoping for another story in this series, because I think the author could do a lot with the rest of the brothers or Jaz/Tank, but if this is the final book, I'm okay with that too.

I received an ARC of the book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Just finished April Hunt's newest Steele Ops book. This is the third in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. This one focuses on stoic Roman Steele and a sassy, kick-butt scientist named Isabel Santiago. They initially clash but it quickly becomes apparent it's just because they are passionate and protective. A virus is stolen from Isabel's lab and unleashed out in the world. As she races to find a cure, Roman and the Steele Ops team are in charge of security since the bad guys are relentless. Lots of action and some sexy times. Can't wait to see who headlines the next book because there are a couple of future storylines coming out of this book.

I couldn't put it down! This is fast moving romantic suspense at its best - starting fast and continuing throughout the book. I stayed up way too late to finish reading, turning pages just as quickly as possible.

As a medical terrorism novel, this is timely, however, because the subject is a possible pandemic, some readers might find this disturbing. The virus discussed in this novel has nothing in common with COVID 19.

This book has a sexy romance between Isa and Roman, even as they race the clock, and terrorists, trying to save the world from a viral disaster. I loved the characters and how Isa and Roman were together.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Another exciting and fast paced story featuring a Steele brother from Steele Ops. There was plenty of action, romance and heat. I enjoyed, as always, the touches of humor from the supporting cast of the Steele Ops crew. Though the romance may have felt a bit under-developed due to the need to keep the plot moving it was still worth the read.

'Fatal Deception' reminded me so much of Julie Rowe's 'Outbreak Task Force's and 'Biological Response Team' series, that it became very evident why I liked this so much.

The author's writing style was enthralling, leaving me damn near glued to the pages of this heart pounding romantic suspense novel. It was well organized, detailed and I was able to easily follow along with everything that was going on. Moreso there was a great blend of characters and I loved the fact that it included a POC heroine. Kudos to the author on that one!

In spite of my pleasant reading experience, I will like to pinpoint that there were scenes/chapters that dragged, in which case nearly (or for the most part) hindered my overall thoughts on the book. There were a lot of unnecessary add-ons that could have been removed to make this a seamless read but nonetheless, I liked this all in all.

Now I am impatiently waiting for the next installment of this series since I have a sinking suspicion that Tank and Jaz are our upcoming couple!

Enjoyed the story - as I do all of this authors books. However, I did find that there are a number of grammatical errors / typos. Unfortunately, I did NOT make note of these.

Isabel was in the army but now works at Tru Tech as a virologist. She is studying a virus that is worse than Ebola or anything out there. When masked strangers break in and demand the vials, then disappear just as fast, the company hires Steele Ops. Roman was Special Forces until an IED took off part of his leg. Now he runs Steele Ops along with his brothers and other military vets. The company goes where other government agencies cannot. As Isabel works on a cure, a call comes in that they believe the virus has been released in Alaska. They must go up there and try to help the people of the little town. There is heat between Isabel and Roman but Isabel is too busy with work and Roman believes he doesn’t deserve her. When tragedy strikes, both realize they both deserve happiness.
I read this book in less than a day. Makes you think about what’s happening now in the world. Thrilling and suspense and some very smoking hot sex. I don’t know what else to say but you will not be disappointed in this story.
