Summer On Honeysuckle Ridge was the perfect book for me to hunker down under a blanket and devour.

Hunter and Abby's story is flirty yet frustrating, as they snap and bite at each other (in a non kinky way!)

Our girl Abby has had a crappy year, but she is the epitome of "when life throws you lemons, make lemonade." She doesn't let anyone or anything get her down, and when you learn her history, you can't help but love her more.

I love a gruff, grumpy hero, and Hunter is all that and more Even when you should hate him, I just couldn't do it.

I completely get the small town vibe of this book, their wariness of outsiders and how hard it can be to fit in there - been there, done that! However I also get the great friendships you can make with those that reach out to you.

There are some completely horrible secondary characters in this book, and I wanted to cheer from the rooftops when they got what was coming.

I adored the people of this town and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This is the first book I have read by Debbie Mason and I am glad I did! What an entertaining book! I enjoyed the main character's antics throughout the book, sometimes she was downright laugh-out-loud funny, however, some events were a little far fetched. But it worked as a good read overall. This is a book about family, history, persaverence, hitting rock bottom, and romance. I'd recommend for a light vacation/beach/summer read. I will definitely be on the look out for the next in the Highland Falls Book series.

Summer on honeysuckle ridge by Debbie Mason

Well once I started this book I did not put it down. I read it in one sitting. I thought it was a perfect read and one I will highly recommend. I loved it.
I have not read any of Masons previous works but most certainly will now.
Many thanks to both the author and netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this book.

Debbie has a hit with this new series. It has just enough of the old series to make the connection to the new characters.

I loved this one. It was sweet and heartwarming!

Down on her luck, Abby Everhart is moving to a small town in North Carolina to start over. In her great aunt's will, Abby has inherited the Honeysuckle Farm. Beggars can't be choosers and after living in her car in L.A. for the last six months, she's ready for a change. In tow with her dog, Bella and her luggage, she takes an uber ride to her aunt's property. When she arrives, she realizes this is more than she bargained for. Still, her idea is to find help remodeling the house and then to sell it. Afterward, she will return to L.A. with her head held high and show her ex-husband, Chandler and his new girlfriend, Juliette, that their actions didn't break her. There is only one problem, part of her aunt's property is not hers.

Hunter MacKenzie enjoys the peace the farm gives him. His only company is his dog, Wolf. Hunter is a former soldier and when he came back two years ago after losing his best friend, he couldn't be the same person he was before he enlisted. The town believes him to be a recluse and his family is worried about the distance he has placed between them. Liz, Abby's great aunt, had been his only friend in the last couple of years. Before passing, she had always said she was leaving the property to him. He was shocked to learn that it was not so, Abby has inherited the house and part of the land.

When Hunter and Abby meet with the help of Bella and Wolf, his solitude is threatened. His priorities start shifting. Parts of his old self starts making an appearance. He grudgingly has to admit that having Abby around is not awful and he actually enjoys spending time with her. The question is, Is she going to stay?

A really adorable love story. I love Abby. She was a quirky heroine who had had it rough most of her life. She was a trooper and tried her best. Learning about her past, made me like her even more. Hunter was the perfect opposite of Abby, yet little by little, he opened up and started living again. Of course, I can forget Bella and Wolf. Their interactions made me laugh at loud.

Highland Falls is my favorite new place. I can't wait for the next romance in this series. Please hurry up, Mrs. Mason.

This is the first book I have read by Debbie mason. I loved it because of the contemporary romance feel it has. I actually saw myself in this book, which I also loved. At first i thought Abby was annoying. she talked so much, she seemed too hyper. The more I got into the book, the more I liked her and actually wanted to be her. I am shy and quiet and sometimes I think that people wished I was more out going.

I loved the ending because it was happily ever after and I think there should second book about the couple. I plan on reading more books by the author and i give this book five stars :)

Highland Falls is so beautifully described that it makes you want to go for a visit. I loved the story line of this book, I loved the setting, and I loved all the supporting character. I could NOT stand the character of Abby though. I felt that she was described in conflicting ways. On one hand, she was portrayed as kind and giving to her sisters, animals and to people back in LA. Then she was portrayed as a whiny, ditzy, extremely selfish person in Highland Falls. Everything had to be about her. I typically love Debbie Mason books and know this is just one that may not be for me so that’s a little disappointing. I will still give the next one a go. Thank you to NetGalley and Publisher for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are of my own.

Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge by Debbie Mason is a delightful story set in Highland Falls, NC. I wanted Abby to recover her life after she had been mistreated and cheated by her ex-husband. This will be a very nice beach or weekend read. I love the area where the story is set, and I enjoy reading things with have a Scottish background in the plot. I adore heroines with a sweet dog, too!
Abby did not contest or fight for her rights in her divorce settlement. The first time this happened, well maybe. But without posting a spoiler, for the life of me, I do not understand how Abby could give away a family secret recipe to a cheater!
Now what I did not appreciate is how much the author 'piggy-backed' off the Outlander books written by Diana Gabaldon. I looked a couple of times in the forward to check if the author had any permission to use references in her story as it uses the Outlander plot. I am not a writer, so maybe an author is allowed these liberties. I would prefer an author to write her own story and not borrow so much which seems like fan-fiction. That is the reason I am giving this story a lower rating.
I have read other Debbie Mason books which are very well written and I loved.

Debbie Mason’s new book, “Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge”, is set in the mountains of North Carolina in a small town called Highland Falls. Abby Everhart is a woman from Los Angeles, down on her luck, determined to overcome the curve ball life threw her way after a tragic childhood accident. She inherits a farm in Highland Falls from her paternal great-aunt, a relative she does not know. After living in her car for six months, she and her dog, Bella, travel east with the idea of selling the property. What she finds is a dilapidated old farmhouse in need of a lot of repairs with money she does not have. Abby’s desire to sell the farmhouse puts her at odds with the townsfolk, including Hunter Mackenzie, a man who inherited part of the property. This is the story of a woman looking to rebuild her life from scratch and the man who unwittingly helps her. It is a heartwarming story of perseverance, determination, and positive thinking, and well worth the read.

Abby rambles on and on. I imagined her voice was pretty whiney. She is very annoying. The story itself is cute but she ruined it for me.

I enjoyed this book very much. Abby Everhart becomes unemployed from her job as a media influencer from Los Angles and becomes recently divorced. She inherits her great aunt homestead in Highland Falls. Of course things happen when you take a city girls and put her in the country. What she didn’t know from this inheritance is that half of the property was left to Ex Delta Force soldier Hunter MacKenzie. Abby wants to sell but obviously he does not. They eventually start to become friends. Abby also makes friends in the town. I loved the personalities that live in Highland Falls. Enjoyable Read! Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for this ARC. This is my own opinion.

We are in the middle of a really strange moment in time where we are all kind of stuck in limbo at home until further notice. It's a scary and weird time, but I am trying to make the best of it by catching up on a ton of reading! I think that right now is the absolute perfect time to read a lighthearded(ish) romance novel and I found the perfect book for that in Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge. This is the beginning of a series which made me want to read it anymore because I love these small town series where everyone knows everyone and we can watch several beautiful stories unfold. I will be honest that it took some time for me to not think Hunter was a jerk, but his backstory will definitely explain why he is so closed off from the world. I love Abby! She is the perfect character to get invested in and I love her bubbly and talkative and affectionate personality. This book is equal parts funny and serious, and the romance scenes are pg so it's a good read for someone who loves love stories but doesn't like passionate scenes to go overboard on the details. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a lighthearted and easy read or who likes romance novels.

A wonderful feel good story. I would give it 4.5, mainly because the ex-husband and his puta lawyer. Also, didn't see why she would still want to go back to California, as there was nothing there for her. Abby has come to North Carolina from Hollywood, after the issues imposed by her ex and his girlfriend (never did quite get all that, and how she was left with so little). Finding she had inherited property, she comes to see if she can sell it, and finds hunky Hunter living in the barn. He was owner of the barn and the land, while she had the house a bit of land too. Part owners, and he was not happy. Funny and easy read overall, and laughed out loud in many places. Highly recommend this book and author. Hard to put down.

I love Debbie Mason's series of books and it looks like this is going to be another great series. Thank you to Net Galley for giving me an advanced copy of this book to read. Again Mason has created some very interesting and likable characters. I liked Abby right from the start however as you read on to find out how many obstacles she has overcome, it makes her even more likable. I really liked that her no good cheating husband and his extremely annoying and manipulative partner that he left her for kind of got what was coming to them, however I won't give that away, you will have to read the book. Hunter was also a very interesting character in the fact that he had a strong family, yet at the same time had difficulties overcoming his grief and guilt, yet Abby who was exactly what he wasn't looking for turned out to be everything he was looking for. I can't wait for the second book in this series to come out so I can read more about the very enjoyable characters of Highland Falls.

This is the start of a new series. I love her books, because they invoke so many emotions. I laugh, cry, get angry.
Two lost souls are brought together by a death. Now they just have to connect with each other.

Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge by Debbie Mason was an excellent, enjoyable story. I loved the location, storyline, characters, and humor. This was such a positive story for me, and the fact that I laughed out loud on many occasions just added to the fun. This author is new to me but I will be reading many more stories by her. I rarely give a 5 star rating but this one earned it!

I had a little trouble believing the story, but I did like the characters and setting. It didn't seem flushed out enough, since Hunter didn't even talk to his family. The ending left it open for many more stories to come in this series. The rest of the characters are very likable and the next books will be ones that I want to read to see what they are up to.

This book was entertaining, fun and lighthearted. Abby is a former YouTube star down on her luck. She inherits her aunt’s farm and decides to stay there until she can sell it and get back on her feet. She arrives to find she had a neighbor. Hunter is former military and a definite loner. The two clash from the start as Abby tries to deal with her aunt’s home.

I liked this book. Abby was a bit much to take at times and the story jumped around a bit but it was overall entertaining and a nice escape read. I really liked Hunter and thought he was well-written. I would recommend this quick, small-town read to anyone who is looking for a light-hearted romance or women’s fiction.
