A sweet story about a cat who thinks his life is over when he’s suddenly stuck with a cone around his head. Eventually, though, he learns it may not be so bad to be Cone Cat.
What a fun children’s book! Jeremy is a cat who finds himself with a cone around his head. At first, he’s very frustrated by this, but he learns to find unexpected benefits from wearing the cone. Children will enjoy the adventures Jeremy the cat finds! This might be helpful if a child has a similar difficulty to overcome, like a cast on a broken arm. I would recommend this book for children about 4-6 years old.
Thanks to NetGalley and OwlKids Books for providing a copy of this ARC.
Jeremy wakes up at the vet, unhappy to find himself wearing a cone. He makes the best of it and ends up liking the cone.
Cone Cat helps kids understand that we can make the best of poor circumstances. I will add this to my classroom library and read it to my students.
Cone Cat by Sarah Howden was a cute story about Jeremy the cat who woke up at the vets with a cone on his head. I read this book with my 5 yr old and 9 yr old, they really enjoyed it. 9 yr old- "the story was really good as the cat didn’t like the cone but eventually learned to like it". 5yr old- "I liked that the cat was funny eating cereal”.
I was provided with an electronic ARC through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Meet Jeremy, you can see he’s none to thrilled to be stuck wearing a cone. But Jeremy is resilient and crafty and sly. He and the cone become one until the surprise ending (wait for it!) Beautifully illustrated by Mok and maybe, maybe, readers will see more?
This is a cute picture book that students will get a laugh from. It has a good lesson in it as well. Illustrations are adorable. I will be purchasing for my elementary library.
An interesting look at how Jeremy the cats adjusts to having a cone around his head. At first, it just hinders him, but then he finds he can get things he couldn't without a cone.
It is a simple tale. Cat gets cone. Cat still gets into mischief despite it.

The pictures are cute. The mischief that he gets into isn't too bad, and the cat is very resourceful.
I do like that the bugs don't taste as good as he thought they would.
